I don't know, Shami. I haven't heard anything from him yet. Maybe he was raptured off to some secret hiding place where his fooled followers won't be able to find him and get revenge.

He's probably kicking back in the Bahamas with all that nice money he bilked from everyone and they can't afford to go get him

The irony of believing in an end is that it is, in a strange way, Zen. As I understand it, this is a world view that promotes a be-here-now focus. Smell the flower - it will never be "here" again and neither will you. Enjoy the asparagus. Savor the wine as if its the last sip.
Of course this viewpoint does not suggest throwing away the future (selling everything to give to a shyster) or scaring children. I have had some clients who were raised as JWs. One woman brought me her own book (given to her as a child) that she retrieved from her still JW parents house. There was a quote - something like and the eyes of the children will burn and melt down their face (this happening to unbelievers obviously). And there was an illustration!!!!! (Yes this deserves extra punctuation). This adult woman was still frightened at the core of stepping back from her JW family (who saw her as *bleep* because she was a nonbeliever). She struggled to remain rational and live her life free of these old fears.
To us outside these systems of belief in doomsday - they are laughable. To helpless children within - it is child abuse. IMO.

All this talk about asparagus is making me hungry...
Paulette: I agree with you. That strikes me as child abuse as well.

I think the lawyers will have a field day with Harold over this one. Especially if he took money from people.

Donations Sky...they freely donated money to advertise his 'doomsday campaign'. Sad for these people but not criminal on his part. The other side of the belief coin is that for reasons known only to the Creator..these people must have needed to experience this. I do believe we experience those things that we are meant to..and this is possibly something designed for them...maybe to remind them where faith should be placed..not in man (who is fallible) but in God who isn't. Harold was arrogant..he placed himself above the word he preached and found a way to twist that word to suit his ego. I'll be willing to bet that same ego (which we are supposed to shed) will keep him from apologizing or making restitution to his followers. I'm not meaning to sound preachy, it's just my own theory

Here is a live interview with Harold Camping at his home. Just click on the link. www.liveleak.com/view?i=7a9_1306160464When asked about his failed Judgement Day predictions he responded by saying, "Well, I'm bewildered. I'm very bewildered and that's all I can say right now..." He definitely did look very bewildered. He looked like he was in a state of shock which is probably what a lot of his followers are feeling right now, especially those that quit their jobs, sold their possessions and spent all of their money on advertising.

Harold is hanging in there like a tenacious terrier. He's saying that May 21 was an 'invisible' spiritual judging but the real Rapture will come on October 21 which is when earth will be consumed by a giant fireball. It is evidently invisible too Harold. He was so distraught over the matter that he left home and spent the night in a motel with his wife. Harold apparently hasn't read that little blurb in the bible about a camel passing through the eye of a needle easier than a wealthy man getting into heaven. Harold is worth over 104 million. news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_apocalypse_saturday

Harold should take some of that 104 million and give it to the people who gave all of their money away advertising his false prediction. How badly are their lives going to be screwed up because of his arrogance. And now he comes up with some BS about an invisible rapture? I guess the end of the world will be invisible too.

I knew Harold was a nut. Now he is being even nuttier than before. He has been wrong twice already and now he is going to be wrong again. Anybody who believes him is a nut too.

It reminds me of that quote from Star Wars when Obi Wan said, "Who is the more foolish...the fool or the fool who follows him?" It seems that there are a lot of fools running around playing follow the leader.

Sometimes I have to wonder at this universe of ours. Harold Camping (doomsday Harold) suffered a stroke. He's ok except for his voice...the voice that convinced so many to give their all to him. The stroke has left his voice slurred and considerably less mesmerizing than it was before, it's unclear if he will ever return to his radio show. Time will tell but if it were me Harold..I think God might just be telling you to watch what you say in His name

"Vengeance is Mine!" sayeth the Lord. "Beware false prophets!" sayeth Jesus. "Harold is a nut!" sayeth Casper. ;D I don't think Harold will make it to his October 21 prediction. I had a feeling before that he wouldn't be here by then. Maybe his predictions only apply to himself.

Nah..I don't think Harold is a nut..I think he's just too exuberant and forgot who's actually in charge of the big decisions and events. I think he'll make it ok to October and I also think it might be interesting to see if anything was learned from what area the stroke effected. I'm guessing someone figures Harold still has some work to do before he gets to go home, perhaps instead of wading in deeper...to make amends for his error.

I don't know, Jo. He's been wrong at least twice already and he still refuses to accept it. I doubt that a minor little thing like a stroke will change his mind.

Doomsday preacher Harold Camping suffers stroke that leaves him struggling to speak. Last updated at 7:44 AM on 13th June 2011 The radio preacher who sparked an international media frenzy by predicting the end of the world last month has suffered a stroke. Harold Camping was rushed to hospital from his Alameda, California home on Thursday night. The 89-year-old has survived the stroke - but there are fears that the gravelly, famous voice he used to make his predictions to millions around the world will never be the same. Slurring his words: Preacher Harold Camping, 89, has suffered a stroke A neighbour told local media that the stroke was on Camping's right side. 'His speech appears to be a bit slurred but otherwise he's OK,' she said. '(Shirley, his wife) said he was doing good... and the only thing that's affected is his speech.' www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2002816/Harold-Camping-Doomsday-preacher-suffers-stroke-leaves-struggling-speak.htmlPerfect! Camping unable to speak? "Praise the Lord!" ;D Maybe there really is a God! Steve

I wonder if the strain of being wrong caused him to have the stroke? You know that devastating failure must have been hard for him to take. Of course since this isn't the first time it has happened he should be used to it.

It also means he may not have much time left and his jugdement day is close.. I don't mean to be funny here.. I'm serious, maybe some how he knew his time was close and thought it meant for mankind.. instead..

No...God will leave Harold alone..sans his 'voice' so that he can see and understand he was wrong..that God's the only dude who gets to know...when it all ends Without lessons..we really can't learn. I think the Harold incident...taught a lot of people some very harsh lessons. Place faith where it belongs..not on a man. IMO

Is Harold still on the radio or did they take him off? I guess he can't do his show anymore if he can't talk right. That's good. he wont be able to fool any more people.
