naturalplane.blogspot.com/2012/10/akulivik-quebec-local-recalls-bigfoot.htmlTuesday, October 16, 2012 Akulivik, Quebec Local Recalls Bigfoot Encounter [/color] Maggie Cruikshank of Akulivik has an incredible story to tell. Late in the afternoon on a rainy, windy September Saturday she and a cousin went out from Akulivik to pick berries. “We moved around a lot because we were looking for big berries,” said Cruikshank, a 46-year-old language teacher with the Kativik School Board. “My cousin noticed something — she thought it was a hunter, but I ignored her because I wanted to go home while the sun was still up. Then, she started to be scared. I got up and looked to where she pointed. It was a very large animal, a bigfoot.” The creature was black, hairy and without any clothes. “Taller and larger than a man,” said Cruikshank. “It walks like us but not standing straight like us, it can jump and crawl.” And its footprint measures some 40 centimetres. Other people in Akulivik have seen the creature too, according to Cruikshank. A group of walrus hunters who had just returned with their catch were preparing to hide their meat under rocks for the winter when they saw the bigfoot. Someone else noticed it by the airport. Other people have reported odd collections of caribou bones piled in the hills outside town, Cruikshank said. An elder found what he said were human bones in a cave outside town and suggested to her the remains might be the work of the bigfoot. And just last week, apparently, someone spotted fresh bigfoot tracks. Someone else reportedly saw the creature standing on top of a mountain. It’s possible the creature has been around for some time. “There are people telling me they suddenly remember they have seen that thing before,” said Cruikshank. “Like 10 years ago or 20 years ago or 60 years ago, they saw it, they just never reported it.” Why not? Perhaps their stories didn’t hold up, or perhaps they were scared others would mock them. Like many people I thought these creatures if indeed they exist were associated with the Pacific Northwest, that is until about twenty years ago while three of us camped near the Jackson River Valley of Virginia.
Following an evening of cooking out, having a few drinks and a bit of poker we all turned in, but not after securing our edibles as this place is black bear country.
We were awakened around 4:00AM by sounds of someone or something rifling through our clean cookingware. Inside a tent we couldn't see what was outside and man that's always a creepy feeling whether it be a raccoon, or a big rogue boar black bear.
I can remember a stench that smelled like a combination of rotten eggs and cabbage with a hint of wet hobo coming in through the half closed window flap. The rattling of pots and pans ceased, but then we heard our little Weber grill getting knocked over followed by the crinkling of greasy foil that was placed on the grill.
After a few minutes of silence we heard heavy footfalls heading towards our tent and whatever it was out there fumbled with the dew flap. This was somewhat terrifying, but it ceased and we then heard it move off. I remember someone saying "I'm sick of being scared" and with that the door flap opened allowing us a better view. In the bough obscured moonlight we saw something large, dark and upright move into a thick clump of rhododendrons. We only saw it's back.
Up for the rest of that day we brewed coffee and awaited daylight. Judging from the rhododendrons we estimated it's height to be around 7' and about half as wide at the shoulders.
That night not only scared the *bleep* out of me, but sparked an interest in what is called the eastern Bigfoot.

Fisher.. Thank you for sharing. I would not sit silent I would of been screaming. A dead give away you are there. I think they know when they are near humans and do not scare off. Another thing is I have always believed bigfoot to be connected to the ufos we see. A pair of them was witnessed only 8 miles south of our town. It is a small grove in the middle of flat land and corn. The cornbelt is what they call us. This tiny Grove . Why? They were put down and picked up. There was a witness to seeing this happen. A bigfoot walking from a landed ship. If they are put down from some ship. Yes then they could actually be anywhere. I think the ones in the Northwest are what you call stayers. Others like in our area only want to eat.

Note .. the ones near us was said to be eating berries. Also in the fall the grove is nothing but sap trees. They barrel it up. I believe this sighting was near winter .. late fall. I'm smelling maple syrup right now just thinking about it.

A bear does not have the dexterity in it's paws to have done that. As there was no loose dirt, sand or mud near our camp, we did not find any spoor come daylight. We've been back to that area several times, camping, fishing and hiking but never experienced anything like that again.

I thought how strange right after this rancher told of the bigfoot on a mountain top near his ranch, had carried a large triangular box that glowed off a spaceship. .they came out with the Chew paka in starwars flying around in ufos. ;D Bigfoot would be more scary than my ufo experiences . Don't care to come face to face with one. If you go camping there often, I would take a camera as one never knows. Just maybe they return to the same areas.

Bigfeets aren't usually so obvious. They tend to stay away from people probably because they have been hunted and chased relentlessly by every gun-toting lunatic in the country. There were stories from way back in the 1800s where people were reportedly attacked and killed by huge hairy bigfoot type creatures, sometimes being ripped to pieces in the process. There were also several stories where the animals were shot and killed by hunters. The ones that survived...and continue to survive today...are the ones who have learned to be cautious. To have one walking around outside of a tent while people were sleeping inside would be an extremely unusual experience...and an amazing one! I wish stuff like that would happen to me.

Careful what you wish for skywalker!
This is an old story told to me by a then friend ~ 35 years ago. She and her boy friend were working as tree planters on the west coast of Vancouver Island and had a little camper they were sleeping in (not attached to a vehicle). They kept their food in it and she had three flower pots full of flowering plants balanced on a log under the window. In the middle of the night, they were immediately awakened by the camper violently going up and down. Things were falling and breaking inside (out of the shelves etc). They assumed there had been an earth quake. In the morning they went outside - their tools which were leaning against a tree weren't knocked out and the flower pots were still perched on the log. Something had lifted and shook the camper. No one was talking about bigfoots then - they assumed it had been a bear. We don't have grizzlies here and it would have been a difficult feat for a black bear to lift and shake a camper. Claw through a wall yes. They moved shortly afterwards. Only later did she think it might have been a bigfoot.

I tend to think these hairy hominids have been around a long time roaming over most of the world and that there are different species and subspecies of them. It is very well possible they were migrating to the western hemisphere before and during the times when humans drifted across Beringia into North America.
There were probably all shapes and sizes of them coming over the 1000 mile wide land bridge ranging from dwarf like beings that possibly inspired American Indian tales of little people, to massive giants 10’ or taller and everything in between. References to giants and ogre like beings are frequent in the legends of Inuit and other native tribes of the western hemisphere. Many of these creatures were said to be man eaters and associated with cannibal spirit tales as they waylaid lone hunters, or ran off with women and children. In some of these tales the cannibal giants are looked upon with extreme bias, hunted down, killed and their bodies being burnt to ashes. Perhaps in earlier times there were more of these creatures and now only existing within remote places in smaller, but wiser, human-shy populations.
Aside from the large Sasquatch, or Bigfoot creatures there are several other varieties still reported today. In the American Southeast there are reports of Skunk Apes, some described as anthropoids moving around on all fours, either gorilla or chimpanzee in appearance, and sometimes as giant slender gibbon-like creatures. Other Skunk Apes are said to resemble Bigfoot, but somewhat smaller. All are said to have a terrible stench.
In the Arctic regions extending down into the United States there have long been reports of creatures called Marked Hominids so named for the piebald lighter patches of hair on their bodies. These creatures are said to be 6 to 7, tall and more human like than Bigfoot and have been known to make trade with humans.
Now and then there have been reports of human sized Neanderthal-like wild people. I read where a witness describes one as wearing old raggedy clothes and sneakers.
In Mexico and Central America there have been reports of a large hairy biped known as the Sisemite and another human size creature called the Ulak. Both are said to be vicious and are known to carry off humans.
Be they only 3’ tall dwarfs or 10’ giants most native tribes claim these human like creatures possess supernatural powers and to look one in the eyes can bring about sickness, or even death.

I agree with all of that, fisher. I also think they wandered across the land bridge some time during the Ice Age and then migrated all over North America. I think the differences in appearance probably happened over thousands of years as they adapted to the local regions where they settled. They seem to be most prevalent in the Pacific Northwest and the Southeast US, probably because there are a lot of thick pine forests in those regions. The areas are pretty much sparsely populated too giving them plenty of places to hide. We get a lot of skunk ape reports down here in Texas. I haven't seen anything personally yet but I am always on the lookout. Lately I have been using a lot of game cameras to monitor certain areas where suspicious activity has been reported. If one of those hairy dudes gets anywhere close to me I'm going to get a picture of him sooner or later.

Following visits to that area some of us packed heat. As mentioned earlier this sparked an interest prompting me to talk with others in my area who have had such encounters as well. In Middlesex County Virginia there is a man who claims to have seen a large, dark, very slender gibbon like creature near his tool shed. When hit with a flashlight this being leaped over a 6' privacy fence and the 10' wide creek behind this man's yard in the same bound. It vanished into the woods. In Greene County Virginia on the Appalachian's slope a couple I knew claimed that two young, hairy almost human looking creatures were stealing eggs, chickens and garden vegetables from their property. They were seen attempting to grab goldfish out of a small pond the man built for his wife. He fired a shot over their heads and they ran off, never to return. He told me this happened at dawn and one of them looked to be smiling while they fished.

Living out in the woods of Oregon I have seen what was probably a big foot next to an old apple tree probably eating the apples that is out in the field. Another time I was awakend at night by the howl of what may have been a big foot. coming out of my sleep my first thought was it was a giant ape of some kind. then the dogs took over barking and I heard no more of the critter. When i saw the critter he was the same color of old wood grey. Standing tall and motionless he looked like an old broken off tree trunk. I have learned not to hassle the local wild life It is so quite here you can feel faint noise on your skin. Walking the woods I have a shooting iron and a double bit axe but its defensive. Strange noises some times come out of the woods like musical electronis noises and faint roaring like a african lion but no hassles.

The Grind TV Blog : Sunday, November 4, 2012 8:44am PST Hikers take flight when what they thought was a bear resembles Bigfoot By: Pete Thomas, GrindTV.com When the black bear you think you're looking at from a safe distance suddenly stands and begins to resemble bigfoot, and that creature stares directly at you, how do you react? The hikers who captured the accompanying footage recently in Utah's Provo Canyon seemed to act appropriately: They bolted through the woods, with the camera still running, to get as far away from the creature as possible. "We ran straight to the car after that, leaving our tent and everything behind. It's probably all still up there," states Beard Card, the YouTube user who posted the video. This is one of the more realistic Bigfoot escapades in some time. Naturally, skeptics are analyzing the video in the hopes of finding an explanation. Yet even healthy cynics are pretty impressed with what they see. They note that the witnesses don't appear to be acting. If they were, the skeptics say, they'd likely be a lot more vocal, and fall into the overacting trap. (Watch this video for full breakdown.) They also didn't stick around to get a great shot, which also rings of a very natural reaction, but didn't help when it came to capturing a better image. Read More : www.grindtv.com/outdoor/blog/39929/hikers+take+flight+when+what+they+thought+was+a+bear+resembles+bigfoot/For some reason I couldn't get the video to load but it's available in the link. I have 2 good friends in Provo, Utah that I'm going to ask and see if they know anything about this. It's interesting.

Here is the yourube video. Here is a video analyzing it. It looks interesting but just like all videos and photos of unsolved mysteries like UFOs, bigfoot or nessie, you can't see anything. It's just another blurry blob behind a blobby bunch of trees. I swear to George Washington that if I ever find a bigfoot or an alien I am going to get some darned good photos of it even if I have to get eaten by the darned thing.

Watch the above video this bigfoot was actually telling them to get away from his territory. The group had discovered his sleeping quarters . A large bed like structure with a huge arch roof over it. It was made out of anything and everything found out in the wilderness. The group stood next to it when viewing the bigfoot coming down the mountain. He was very disturbed by this. I would of ran.

I don't know why that Marble Mountain video wouldn't post. I tried everything but it just wouldn't work. It was an interesting video though. I never thought about bigfoot building structures out of tree branches. I always assumed they mainly lived in caves but that would be kind of hard for them to do if they are in areas where there aren't any caves.
The more I learn about these bigfeets the more "human" they seem. I'm starting to think these things are a lot more intelligent than people originally thought. They aren't just big dumb apes. That's probably why they are so hard to find.

If we ever make a complete contact with bigfoot would it have to be hostile ? Will we have to cage them to get a close look and study them.
People make friends with animals by feeding them. I sure do not see it working this way with a Bigfoot. No one has ever heard a Bigfoot speak. Only strange sounds . Animals learn to understand man when he speaks to them over and over again. You would think surely a Bigfoot which seems more intelligent certainly could.
No one has ever witness a bigfoot carrying a new born. Wonder why that is? Maybe they harbor them till grown. I cannot let go of the ufo connection here. Wish this was witness once and caught on tape if true.
How many days til the 11th. ;D ;D ;D It went through my mind again just now. It keeps popping up?
