I didn't know Stiver had her own website. Those were very good, and funny too. She is a wonderful artist. She must have drawn them a long time ago when we were still on the MUFON forum. I really wish that she could still be friends with all of us but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. I miss her.

Yeah, the cartoons were funny but I felt stiver was laughing at the members, not with them.

I doubt that way back then she was. If she were to draw them today she would probably draw me lying on the ground with a knife sticking out of my back. That might make her laugh.

What a great way to start a Saturday morning. I did LOL on a few of them. Pictures are worth many many words. This reminds me to not be too serious, even with a serious subject...

There is a lot of emotion in her very talented artistry. I don't think they were designed to be funny but satirical. Skywalker, I agree that it's sad we can't all get along but people choose paths that take them in different directions. YOUR forum is easy going, comfortable and enjoyable. The discord between you and ufomania opened a nice new door where people feel welcome instead of persecuted. I'm sorry that I see that as a very good trade off (at your expense of course). I don't forget that she asked me to leave too...go figure...sweet lil ole me ;D

I don't think she was trying to be mean-spirited. I thought they were cute. They are kind of like the political cartoons you see in the paper sometimes...like a caricature of the person where you exaggerate certain characteristics in order to bring out their personalities and character traits. I am an artist myself and I draw cartoons sometimes. I have even done similar cartoons to the ones Stiver drew, although not about people on the forum, but about my friends at home and back when I was in high school and college. I don't think she intended to be mean-spirited, I just think she was having a little bit of fun. I don't know...maybe because I am an artist myself I have a better understanding of what she was trying to do. Or maybe each person here, including me, is allowing their emotions to influence their opinion of Stiver and her drawings. The thing I find the most amazing about all of this is that I am probably the one who was hurt the most by what she did yet I am the one who always defends her.

I don't find that surprising at all, that you would be the one to defend her. Maybe you underestimate my feelings when 'asked' to leave...that did hurt but maybe you bounce better than I do. I remain hurt that she changed on us...that she allowed herself to be so influenced by someone that she thought we were trying to sabotage her forum. Either I never knew her at all...or his influence was that strong. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong in her drawings at all..they are extremely good..I'm just not as willing to call her a saint as you are Sky..she messed up and if she wanted to undo it..she'd be welcomed. That's channeling my inner injured jo..and everyone here is entitled to disagree with that . To be perfectly honest and then I won't even come back to this thread..I would have been happier without the reminder and can't help but wonder how those two people keep being a burr under the saddle in this forum. I'm done now..bitter all gone..purged.

I'm not disagreeing with what you are saying, Jo, and I am not criticising anybody for saying it. You, auntym, pigs, and everybody else have a right to be hurt and angry about what happened. She did hurt a lot of people. She chose one person over all of her other friends on that forum and she should not have done that. It is my opinion that the main reason she did it is because of his influence over her, but she still allowed it to happen. This whole mess could have been avoided very easily, and the situation probably could still be corrected very easily if she wanted to do it. The fact that she has made no effort to do so is very telling. As far as the drawings go, she obviously drew these way back when we were on the old MUFON forum before any of this negative nonsense got started so there is not going to be any negativity in them. If they were recent drawings that portrayed us all being mangled and disfigured, or showed me lying on the ground with a knife sticking out of my back, then I might be inclined to see some negativity. What these drawings do is recall a time long ago when we were all still friends. I think when we look at them we should try to appreciate them for what they were meant to be at the time that she drew them, rather than the recent negative events they remind us of now. We have a very good thing going with this forum and I think we will have a very good future ahead of us as long as we keep heading in the right direction, so let's get the burs out from under the saddle and ride, cowboy, ride! (cowgirls too )

Well said skywalker. I also think she was doing it as a way for fun, and not to make fun. My best friend is an artist and she has done some drawings of me playing the piano... quite funny ones which could also be interpreted as making fun of me. I can also understand feeling hurt by someone... I was very hurt when I was kicked out of the band I was in for a stupid reason... and said some things I didn't mean to say. This is why I ran out of the store to have a cigarette when one of my former band-mates came by work the other day... Time to move on.

I spoke with Stiver last night and thank her for the hilarious joke of me. My clock is still an hour behind this board.. lol.. I told her I was not a fat old lady but a skinny old lady..
She said she made them while we were all on the Mufon forum and was reluctant to put them on as she thought member may take them the wrong way.. I told her I sure did not I told her my clock on my computer still behind my post time.. lol
I truly think she was very happy that I contacted her about them..

OMG! (Oh my Goddess!) Jackie Gleason.....OK. You have got to be as old as I am. The Jackie Gleason show, black and white of course on one of the few or maybe the only channel we got. But I think Dad opted for The Andy Griffit Show or the singing sisters. To the Moon would have been too reality based for my family.
