I would like to go to that one one of these years. I wish the old farm house was still there. I bet it would be really interesting to go over the site with a metal detector.

The Sutton farm was hit by tons of people with metal dectors and me . I was told by a local law man to get out . The place is now a field of grass and weeds . The farm house was burned down by the local fire dept . It was a hazard for anyone who went looking around . Very bad shape and the still was taken long time ago ( Darn it )

In regards to the Sutton story, and reading the original newspaper article provided by Ron's post, I didn't know that one of the men shooting at the "aliens" had his hair pulled! So Bizarre! (Makes it more "real" though, for some reason ) I just bet those folks feel so fortunate that no one accidently shot each other! What a weird night!

It definitely was weird. That's not the type of thing that an entire family of country folk would make up either. Something happened out there. The best explanation the skeptics can come up with is monkeys escaping from a circus. Yeah...right.

ufofest.com/ Welcome to McMenamins’ 14th Annual UFO Festival at Hotel Oregon On Friday and Saturday, May 17 and 18, 2013, we are pleased to host the 14th Annual UFO Festival, billed as “the 2nd-largest alien festival in the U.S.” The festival began as a way to honor the famous 1950 Trent sighting in which two local McMinnville citizens witnessed and photographed a UFO, said to be some of the most credible images of UFOs to date. >> Read a detailed history of this famous sighting: ufofest.com/files/2013/04/UFOHistory3.05.pdfWe are honored to host four speakers this year: Nick Pope — former administrator/investigator of the British Ministry of Defence’s UFO Project. George Knapp — Area 51 researcher and “Coast-to-Coast” radio guest host. Jim Sparks — multiple-abductee/experiencer and author of The Keepers: An Alien Message for the Human Race. Linda Moulton Howe — revered journalist and UFO researcher And our Emcee this year: Peter Davenport — Director, National UFO Reporting Center In addition to these ticketed events, the weekend includes a number of free, family-friendly attractions, including live music, a costume parade, contests and a movie. Remember to visit the all-day vendor booths, presented by our friends at the McMinnville Downtown Association. Our Food, Beer & Gift Tent will also be running from 9 a.m. ‘til 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 18. MORE INFO: ufofest.com/

www.ufofestivalroswell.com/article.php?story=parade Welcome to the Official 2013 UFO Festival! This year the UFO Festival is scheduled for July 5-7, 2013. But plan to stay the whole week from June 28 through the Festival because Roswell has a lot going on that week. WE RECOMMEND YOU DOWNLOAD AND PERUSE OUR SUMMER GUIDE: www.ufofestivalroswell.com/images/library/File/MSROSWELLsummerevents.pdf This guide includes recommended events and locations for the entire week. The Film Fest and Cosmicon is going on the weekend of June 28, then the City of Roswell has a lot planned for the Fourth of July Festivities, then the UFO Festival is planned the following weekend. There is plenty to visit in Roswell and the surrounding areas! You won't be disappointed you stayed here the entire week! The City of Roswell invites UFO enthusiasts and skeptics alike to join in the celebration of one of the most debated incidents in history. The three-day event will feature guest speakers, authors, live entertainment, a costume contest, a pet costume contest, parade, family-friendly activities and more. If you are a visitor to Roswell, there are plenty of lodging options available. There are many hotels within a two mile radius of the event. Roswell also has public bus transportation with Pecos Trails Transit. The majority of the events will be held downtown, with very few exceptions. All events are within walking distance. We are hard at work planning all of our events, so please keep checking back for updates. In early July, 1947, a mysterious object crashed on a ranch 30 miles north of Roswell. The Roswell Army Air Field (RAAF) issued a statement claiming to have recovered a crashed "flying disk." An article ran on the front page of the Roswell Daily Record and the next day, RAAF changed its statement to say that the object was a weather balloon, not a flying disk as they previously reported. This revised statement sparked immediate controversy and has continued to be a topic of debate more than 60 years later. www.ufofestivalroswell.com/article.php?story=parade

www.oregonlive.com/events/index.ssf/2014/05/ufos_are_coming_to_oregon_2014_mcmenamins_ufo_fest.htmlUFO fanatics are flocking to Oregon: 2014 McMenamins UFO Festival By Jamie Hale | jhale@oregonian.com on May 01, 2014 With believers rallying their support, and the number of sightings growing exponentially every year, the age-old question persists: Are UFOs real? You might get an answer at the McMenamins UFO Festival, now in its 15th year, taking over McMinnville May 15 to 18. Oregon's premier alien-themed event is growing along with the sightings, adding two extra days to the festival this year and providing more opportunity for dialogue with Ufologists. "It's a big deal," said Renee Rank Ignacio, marketing director for McMenamins. While the festival has been light in the past, typically offering more opportunities for wacky alien costumes than for hardcore discussion, it's bringing in six speakers this year, including paranormal radio host George Noory and famed Ufologist Stanton Friedman. Noory and Friedman offer what they consider to be substantial evidence that alien life has visited earth in unidentified flying objects, largely based on the fact that more verifiable sightings yield harder to identify objects. And while sightings are on the rise – MUFON reported more than 7,500 sightings in 2013, compared to roughly 1,700 in 2006 – belief in UFOs has trended downward over the last few decades. A 2012 poll conducted by National Geographic found that a third of Americans believe alien life has visited Earth. In a 1996 Gallup poll, 48 percent of respondents said they believed in UFOs, while a 1978 poll found 57 percent believed. But belief in alien visitation isn't a prerequisite to attending the McMenamins UFO Festival. Rank Ignacio said the festival draws folks of all kinds, including those who seek academic discussion and those who want to dress their dogs up like characters from "Star Wars." The festival has even solidified her opinion on the matter of flying saucers. "After all these years of going to these events I have to yes, I don't think we're alone," she said. * * * MCMENAMINS UFO FESTIVAL 2014 When: May 15 to 18 Where: McMenamins Hotel Oregon (310 N.E. Evans St., McMinnville) Admission: Some events are free, some are ticketed, see the festival schedule for detailswww.oregonlive.com/events/index.ssf/2014/05/ufos_are_coming_to_oregon_2014_mcmenamins_ufo_fest.html

The rules say it doesn't have to be UFO or alien related. If it can be about anything then what's the point? The UFO festival ain't America's Got Talent.
