www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/defence/8247967/Invisible-tanks-could-be-on-battlefield-within-five-years.htmlDefenceInvisible tanks could be on battlefield within five yearsBritish military scientists plan to develop an army of "invisible" tanks ready for use on the battlefield within five years. Unlike conventional forms of camouflage, the images on the hull would change in concert with the changing environment always insuring that the vehicle remains disguised Sean Rayment By Sean Rayment, Defence Correspondent 121 Comments Armoured vehicles will use a new technology known as "e-camouflage" which deploys a form "electronic ink" to render a vehicle "invisible". Highly sophisticated electronic sensors attached to the tank's hull will project images of the surrounding environment back onto the outside of the vehicle enabling it to merge into the landscape and evade attack. The electronic camouflage will enable the vehicle to blend into the surrounding countryside in much the same way that a squid uses ink to help as a disguise. Unlike conventional forms of camouflage, the images on the hull would change in concert with the changing environment always insuring that the vehicle remains disguised. A bar fight fading in and out before your eyes is hard to believe.. A drunk would of left had he witness this sort of thing.. too amazing..it is easier to believe in ufos than being invisible

Auntym......I guess I believe they did something that day on board the ship. Whatever it was it backfired as it was never tried again. At least it has not leaked out to the public.
Thanks for your link

Invisibility, anti-gravity and time travel are just a few of the many possible side effects of electromagnetic energy. If UfOs had found a way to harness that type of energy it would explain a lot of things that witnesses have reported about them, like making abrupt turns at high speeds and fading out or becoming invisible. It is still hard to believe that humans have the technology to do that though, especially way back in 1943. I suppose it's possible but I would need to see more evidence before I would believe it.

I'm sure they tried something along those lines but if it had been in any way successful..the technology would be common today. The military isn't good with owning up to it's failed experiments and there's just enough rumor about this to make me believe it was a colossal failure

I agree Jo.. There was never many seamen who told about it. Although there was a guy and his wife claiming he had been aboard back in the sixties. I never remember names. I believe he died in some sort of accident.

This supposed witness stated he was on the stern of the ship and seen the rope hanging in midair with nothing attached to it. I will look around and see if his story may be on the net somewhere.

Lois did you listen to Art Bell interviewing Al Bilic who was on the ship during the Philadelphia Experiment? This was on C2C during the mid 1990s. I really wish I had recorded it.

How can they make a battleship disappear? That's crazy! You would think they would start with somethimg smaller like a canoo or a rowboat. Maybe then it would have worked.

Is this haunted ship still around? The video said they were going to junk it. I would like to find it if it is. maybe there are ghosts on it. Or maybe some of the invisible sailers are still living on it. That would be just as freaky as a ghost.

The men on this ship went through time, but this man says one of the sailors went into the 28th century. How wild is that?

news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2011/01/110128-invisibility-cloak-magic-crystal-mit-barbastathis-science/?source=link_tw20110714news-cloakNew Invisibility Cloak Closer to Working "Magic"System hides relatively big objects in visible light.
Rachel Kaufman for National Geographic News Published January 28, 2011 Harry Potter and Bilbo Baggins, take note: Scientists are a step closer to conquering the "magic" of invisibility. Many earlier cloaking systems turned objects "invisible" only under wavelengths of light that the human eye can't see. Others could conceal only microscopic objects. (See "Two New Cloaking Devices Close In on True Invisibility.") But the new system, developed at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) Centre, works in visible light and can hide objects big enough to see with the naked eye. The "cloak" is made from two pieces of calcite crystal—a cheap, easily obtained mineral—stuck together in a certain configuration. Calcite is highly anisotropic, which means that light coming from one side will exit at a different angle than light entering from another side. By using two different pieces of calcite, the researchers were able to bend light around a solid object placed between the crystals. "Under the assembly there is a wedge-shaped gap," said MIT's George Barbastathis, who helped develop the new system. "The idea is that whatever you put under this gap, it looks from the outside like it is not there." TO CONTINUE READING CLICK ON ABOVE LINK

Re: first article. Squids don't use ink to change their colors. That is due to specialized pigment glands in their skin (octopi as well). They observe their environment and then match it for camoflague (octopi). Squids (which are free swimming) do less matching and more posturing - their colors are more in the zone of lets fight or lets have squid sex.

I thought that squids squirted ink so that nobody could see them. Do they change color too? I don't know much about squids except that they don't taste too good.
