I have decided to start a thread for all of my UFO sightings, not that I have many but that doesn't matter. Maybe I'll see a whole fleet of them in the next few weeks and I'll have a lot to post. I'm going to start off with the first one that I reported to MUFON. This is the first UFO sighting that I actually considered to be a UFO since I was a skeptic before that and usually dismissed the strange things that I saw as some type of weird natural phenomenon. I'm going to have to go back through my memories and reexamine all of the weird stuff that I have seen to see if maybe it was really even weirder than I thought. By the way, this first one occurred just one week after I had first joined MUFON. Is that a coincidence or what? January 21, 2009My first real UFO sighting occurred late on the night of January 21st. I was driving east on I-10 through Louisiana going about 65mph when I saw a big green light suddenly fly past me on the right side of the road. It was heading east also and was going much faster than I was, probably about 150 to 200 mph. It was approximately 300 yards away from me and about 100 feet off the ground, traveling in a straight path with just a slight down-slope to it. The light looked about the same color as a green traffic light although it was at least several feet in diameter and much more intense. I watched it for several seconds as it passed over some houses and then disappeared behind some trees.
My first thought was that it might be some type of a meteor, but it was moving much too slow and did not have any type of a tail on it. I then considered other types of natural phenomenon such as a fireball or ball lightning, but it did not resemble any of those either, although in all fairness I must admit that I have never actually seen a fireball so I probably wouldn't recognize one if it landed on top of me.
Next I considered the possibility that it might be an airplane since there was an airport in the vicinity, but I did not see any other lights or any indication that there was any type of aircraft attached to the light. I couldn't recall ever seeing a plane with a big, giant green light on it neither.
Being a natural skeptic I went through the list of all the things I could possibly think of to try to explain the sighting but nothing seems to fit. I really don't know what it was. Of course that doesn't automatically mean that it has to be an alien space craft or flying saucer either. It could have been some type of natural phenomenon. I just don't know what.
The most interesting thing about this sighting is the fact that it came just a week after I joined MUFON. Is that a coincidence or what? I went forty years without ever seeing a UFO and then I see this thing a week after joining a UFO group. It kind of makes me wonder if I may have seen other weird things like this in the past and just dismissed them as hallucinations or tricks of the eye just because I did not believe in UFOs. Maybe the only reason I noticed this one is because I'm a little more open-minded now than I used to be.
Or could it be possible that it wasn't a coincidence?
Maybe somebody is trying to tell me something... I reported this one to MUFON just a few days after it happened and for some reason they did not bother to contact me until almost a year later in November. By then I had already forgotten a lot of the details, as well as the fact that I had posted this sighting on the old board in the password protected area. This is actually the same post (with a few minor adjustments) that I just recently retrieved from the old board. It feels spooky over there. I think Stiver called it a ghost forum, and that feels pretty accurate. I can't believe they shut down the old board. Stupid MUFON.

That is strange that it was right after you joined Mufon.. I have had two sightings since I joined Mufon. A ship came out of a severe electical storm. a hugh black cloud hung over it. Myself and two neighbors watched it wobble, it was a dark gray saucer shape. They keep saying it must be a balloon. I told them in this wind?
I took my eyes off of it for a second and then it was gone. One neighbor said, it just wink out.. I never did convince them of it being a craft from another world. I have heard they come down from storm clouds. This was my first.. None of us had a camera handy.. It would of been a very close shot on zoom..

The timing of it was very strange. It was almost like it was meant to be. In fact the whole story of how I decided to join the Mufon forum in the first place was also strange. It happened right after my best friends older brother died of cancer. His family made a video and posted it on Youtube so I went there to check it out. That was the first time I had ever been on Youtube. After the video was over it listed some other videos that had recently been posted and one of them was about an alien abduction that had been caught on a security tape. (I posted that one on Ufomania). While watching the video it had Yvonne Smith doing an interview and talking about hypnotherapy to uncover repressed memories of an abduction and I started thinking about doing it. So I tried to find out who Yvonne Smith was and it mentioned Mufon so I joined their forum and asked if anybody knew anything about her. Steve was the one who replied to my question. A week later I saw my first UFO. Just think, Lois, if I had not accidentally seen that alien abduction video on Youtube I probably never would have joined any UFO forum, and I wouldn't be here doing this one. Kinda weird how things work out.

Check out this article I found on the Ufomania site. It sounds like a recorded transcript of a secret meeting held at Los Alamos back in 1948 to investigate the green fireball mystery. Unclassified: Dr Edward Teller and the anomalous nature of Green Fireballs cosmictusk.com/unclassified-dr-ed....balls#more-2441It sounds kind of similar to what you saw, Sky.

Very interesting, Starkiller. That does sound similar to what I saw. I haven't had time to read the whole thing yet but I will definitely check it out later.

Ok, I finished reading through the article about the green fireballs and there are several interesting points that they brought up. This is from way back in 1948 when they first started appearing.
One is that the fireballs are definitely not a typical meteor because they always travel horizontally with the surface of the Earth, whereas a typical meteor can come in from any direction.
They always have a bright yellow-green appearance, which is never observed in a typical meteor.
The fireballs appear instantly at full intensity and disappear just as quickly, unlike conventional meteors that tend to fade in and out.
The fireballs make no noise, unlike conventional meteors that general make a whistling or crackling sound.
They never have a train or tale the way a normal meteor would.
They never leave any debris or meteoric fragments.
All of these characteristics match the green thing that I saw in my first UFO sighting, and they all point to the conclusion that they are definitely not conventional meteors. So what are they? That is a good question.
There were a few other characteristics that they described in the article that are worth mentioning. The ones they were describing were appearing at very high altitudes and were traveling extremely fast...like thousands of miles per hour. This did not match the one I saw which was at a very low altitude and was traveling extremely slow...like only about 150 miles per hour. Other than that, the one I sighted was almost identical to what they were describing.
They also mentioned that they were only appearing in areas in the vicinity of Top Secret military research installations, mainly in the southwestern United States, like Roswell and Los Alamos, which is why the military took an interest in them, and they started arriving towards the very end of 1947, or the beginning of 1948.
What are they? Nobody knows, but they are an interesting phenomenon.
The article also mentioned a couple of other things that I thought were interesting, although they had nothing to do with the fireballs. They mentioned the "flying discs" that were being reported back then and suggested that they might have been high altitude balloons, although they also noted that the Air Force was investigating them.
Another thing they mentioned, which I thought was very interesting and I had never heard of before, is a Nazi project that they referred to as "stations in space." I'll give you the exact quotes that they used...
Mr. Newburger: Were the Germans experimenting in any phase that was possibly connected with it?
Dr. LaPaz: Well, they had the so-called stations in space…. might have some attachment to it.
Stations in space? Does anybody have a clue what this is referring to? I have never heard of it.

I didn't want to post this on the UFOmania forum because I had the impression that it wouldn't be met well with the opinions of certain individuals on there.
About a week after I joined the forum, I saw a gigantic triangle flying over the highway. It was huge... the size of a large house, or maybe bigger. It was just this triangle-shaped lights formation that was moving very fast along the highway, flying what appeared to be the 20 feet higher up than the tops of the trees. There was a light in each corner. It could have been air force jets flying in formation, but it was too perfect in my opinion from what I observed, because I have seen air shows before.

That sounds like a typical description of the triangle shaped crafts that have been reported lately. I think I may have seen one myself a few months ago in Georgia, but it was pretty high up so I couldn't really tell. What color were the lights? Was there a light in the center of it also? Why did you feel that certain individuals would not like your sighting at Ufomania? Not that I blame you. I can guess who some of those people are. That board is getting way too skeptical. It is really a shame when you can't even talk about UFOs on a UFO forum.

Yes well... I have been making a lot of posts on there because I've been bored lately and they have been cutting back my hours at work... and it just makes me uncomfortable to post things on there sometimes. I don't know how to really describe it...
The lights were white. I did a double-take, and noticed that the other cars (there were four other vehicles on the road underneath and in front of it) didn't even slow down. I blinked and kept looking at it, slowing way down for the sharp curve at the bottom of the hill... but it was still there. I couldn't believe it. Three white lights, one in each corner.

I know exactly waht you mean, unfortunately. Ufomania is dominated by skeptics. Ever since flash became a moderator he has been taking the forum further and further away from where it needs to be. He has already driven away a lot of the people who actually believed in UFOs and brought over a bunch of his skeptical friends to take their place. He is even getting Stiver to be more and more skeptical practically every day. If he keeps it up it won't be long before Ufomania is the only UFO site on the internet where the members do not believe in UFOs. It is sad to see it happening.

This is the second UFO sighting that I had in 2009. I also reported this to Mufon. This was before I realized it was a waste of time because Mufon had been taken over by the government. Unlike the first report I made this time I was actually contacted by a couple of people who were actually very friendly and interested in what I had to say. It's people like that who make me think that maybe there is hope for Mufon yet. I've already written about this incident before but I'm going to mention it again because I want all of my UFO sightings to be here on this thread, otherwise this thread will be very short and very boring, like most of my threads are. June 9, 2009This incident took place up in Ohio. I was out running late at night down a dark, lonely road in the middle of nowhere and I was looking up at the sky and wondering if anything was looking back. As I jogged along I began talking to the "aliens" asking them to come down and tell me what was going on. No sooner had I said that than a bright green meteor came streaking down from the sky.
It could have been a coincidence but if so it was an amazing one because it happened exactly after I had asked them to come down. It was almost like they were giving me a sign.
I kept on jogging and a few minutes later I saw a white object that looked like a star that fell down out of the sky. There was no tail behind it like a meteor and it didn't pulsate or burn up, it just fell straight down all the way to the ground. I watched it for several seconds before it reached the ground then it disappeared.
I don't know if this sighting had anything to do with UFOs or not. It may have just been a couple of meteorites, but I had never seen anything like either of them before. I have since seen other green meteors, plus some red and blue ones, but this one was the largest I had ever seen. I've never witnessed anything else like the white falling star object. And like I said, the timing was unbelievable.
I don't really know what to make of this one. If either of them had happened separately I would have just thought it was a natural phenomenon. The thing that makes me wonder is the timing. Right after I asked them to come down? What's up with that?

Okay, this next UFO sighting isn't really a UFO sighting because I didn't actually see a UFO. In fact, I didn't see much of anything, but it was still really weird. I was unsure about whether or not I should write about it on this thread but I've decided I will because it was very similar to the last sighting I wrote about. It happened only a month later. Unfortunately, I don't remember the exact date. I wrote about it on the old forum but since MUFON cancelled the old forum the date is now lost forever. Stupid MUFON. July, 2009I was camping out on some land my father owns in central Texas close to the town of Lampasas, which is where I grew up. It was a very nice summer night and I was sitting outside looking up at the stars and once again wondering if anything was looking back. I once again started thinking about the aliens and once again started asking them to come down and talk to me.
As I sat there by myself in the dark I suddenly heard some footsteps walking towards me. They started about 100 feet away and kept getting closer. It sounded like a person. I first heard the feet crunching on the gravel then as they got closer I could hear them swishing through the grass. I could not see anything that could have been making the sound. There was nobody there! I was able to see pretty well because of the moon and stars but there was nothing there. The footsteps continued to approach me until it sounded like whatever it was was only a few feet away.
At this point I got pretty spooked and crawled inside my tent. I know the thin walls of a tent aren't much protection from an invisible whatever it was but I figured it was better than nothing. As I lie there in the dark I could still here those invisible footsteps crunching right outside my tent. They sounded like they were just a few feet away. I looked out several times but saw nothing. It was a pretty freaky feeling knowing that something was there but not there.
About 30 minutes later I just about jumped out of my skin when I heard a loud knocking sound like somebody was banging on the hood of my car. I quickly leaped up and looked outside but once again there was nothing visible. I could not see anything that could have been making that sound.
A little while later a dog suddenly started barking about a quarter mile away from me and at the same time my ears started ringing really loudly. It lasted for several seconds and the dog kept barking the whole time so whatever it was that was making my ears ring the dog heard too. When the ringing stopped the dog stopped.
I have no idea what could possibly have been making those sounds. I did not see anything at all and I have never had anything like that happen to me before. I find it really interesting that this occurred right after I asked the aliens to come down and talk to me. I know that it could still have been just a coincidence but that was the second time I had asked them and both times I had weird things happen as a result.
Coincidence? Maybe, but it is a mighty big one.

This next UFO sighting is my most recent one. I was debating whether I should put it on here since it was probably just a plane but since it was an unidentified plane I think that still qualifies. August 18, 2010I was in Georgia just northeast of Atlanta and I stopped at a gas station to get some gas. (that's always a good reason to stop at a gas station) As I was walking in I looked up and saw a weird looking set of lights flying across the sky. There were three white lights in a triangle formation with a blinking light right in the middle of them. It was about as big as an airplane at high altitude and I watched it for about a minute as it flew across the sky. After a while the blinking light changed so that there was one light blinking on the back and another one blinking on the front, going back and forth. All the lights were white.I suppose it could have just been some weird kind of an airplane but I've never seen a plane with lights in a triangle formation like that, so who knows?

I actually saw another UFO shortly after starting this thread, which is a good thing because it gives me something else to write about.
November 28, 2010
Late at night I was driving west on Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania when I saw what looked like a red shooting star. The weird thing about it is that it started from the ground and went up! Shooting stars normally don't do stuff like that. I only saw it for a second or two as it zipped off towards space and was gone. Definitely weird.

So far I have finished describing all of my recent UFO sightings, or at least the ones that I actually thought might possibly could have been UFOs. Now I want to go way, way back to a time before I believed in UFOs...before I even knew what a UFO was...in fact, before I could even spell UFO. I want to go back through my early years and talk about some of the things that I saw and experienced that I might have considered to be UFO related if I had believed in them. I was a skeptic for most of my life, until the past couple of years in fact, and it was very easy for me to dismiss things back then. It's a little bit harder now after some of the weird stuff I have been through. The first experience I want to describe happened long, long ago in a place far, far away...I was just four years old and living in California. This incident probably had nothing to do with UFOs but it was still pretty unusual, and very cool. Summer, 1972My older brother and I were out playing baseball with some of his friends. Actually, they were playing baseball and I was just tagging along and getting in the way. Since my bro was four years older than me he and his friends did not really want me around, but I was there anyway because I had nowhere else to go.
It was a bright, clear, sun-shiny day with beautiful Pacific blue skies and hardly a cloud in sight. As we were all running around chasing after the ball we suddenly heard this crackling sound that made us all stop in our tracks. Everybody was looking up in the sky, so naturally, I looked up also.
What I saw was the most amazing lightning bolt I have ever seen! It started on one side of the sky and slowly spread out like a spider web all the way across to the other horizon until the entire sky was filled with electricity. It was really, totally, unbelievably cool!
The spider-web of lightning probably lasted for a good five to ten seconds before it disappeared, at which point my wonderful loving brother and all of his compassionate friends screamed, then took off running for home leaving me standing there by myself. Typical.
I remember I started running towards the house trying to catch up to those clowns but I don't remember anything after that. It was a long time ago and my memory isn't what it used to be (never was? ) but I have no idea how I got to the house. The next memory I have after that is sitting in the house eating some divinity, which is a type of candy that my mom cooked a total of one time in her life and never again. I have no idea why...I thought it was pretty good. Anyway, like I said it probably had nothing to do with UFOs but it was still pretty unusual. I have never seen lightning like that since. It was very cool.

Here is another one of my older possible UFO sightings. This one occurred somewhere in Pennsylvania while I was driving down the interstate highway late at night. I believe it was in 1996, but don't quote me on that...I am not sure because I didn't pay much attention to it at the time.
Autumn, 1996
I was driving east on Interstate 80 in western Pennsylvania late at night when I happened to notice some flashes of light up in the sky. I looked up and saw what appeared to be either a moving star or an aircraft. It was just one bright white light moving through the sky.
As I was watching I suddenly saw three small lights shoot out of it in the same direction it was heading. The smaller lights were white also. I continued watching it and about 30 seconds later another group of lights came out of it...then another, and another. This continued for several minutes at about half-minute intervals.
At the time I did not believe in UFOs so I figured it was just a military plane testing flares or something. I am still leaning towards that explanation because I don't know what else it could have been. I watched it for several minutes before I finally lost sight of it.

I had another UFO sighting the night before last. I don't really know if I should call it a UFO but it was in the sky and it was unidentified so what the heck. July 14, 2011I was camping out in my usual spot just north of Lampasas, Texas. The temperature was extremely hot making sleep next to impossible so I was just lying their looking up at the stars just like I had been doing most of the night. Sometime around midnight I suddenly saw a bright white light blink on and off directly above me. It was about as high as an airplane would have flown and the light resembled the blinking light that would be on a plane but it was much brighter and there was no plane. The light was about ten times as bright as an airplane would have been and it only blinked on and off one time and was gone. I just happened to be looking at the exact spot where it appeared too. I immediately leaped up out of bed and started scanning the skies to see if I could see it again but there was nothing in sight. I have no idea what the thing was but I do know what it wasn't. It was not a plane, meteor or satellite. It also was not Venus, swamp gas or a weather balloon. At least that narrows down the list a little. I really don't have a clue what it could have been.

sky, this is the first time ive seen and read this thread, I didnt know about it til this morning. I wouldve never mentioned this because of the coincidence involved unless id read about it here also, and I can prove this through my mufon reports in my yahoo mail message inbox to be true in case anyone doesnt believe it. When I first reported to mufon just a few months ago about the sightings id had I too went outside, looked up and asked "them " whats going on because this was right after me, kelly, and her son had just seen about 100 objects flying over the house and then I decided to report everything to mufon because I was hoping to get answers. As soon as I said that, the green fireball, the one and only one ive ever witnessed flew from the pleiades in taurus towards springfield ,Mo. I was hesitant to report this to mufon but did anyway but I didnt tell them about me asking for it, I just mentioned it in a message when responding about another sighting. If I hadnt read it here, I probably wouldnt have ever mentioned this but I find it to be more than just coincidence now that youve mentioned it,,,wow !!!

That is a coincidence, dude. Or maybe it's not a coincidence. maybe they really were responding to what we said. That incident where I saw the green fireball come streaking down was the first time I had ever asked them to come down and it happened immediately after I said the words. One month later I asked them again to come down and once again I had something really weird happen immediately afterward. That was the second time I had asked and the second time I got something in response. Now here you are reporting that the same thing happened to you. I'm sure all of the skeptics would say it is just a coincidence, and maybe it is...but if so it's a darned big one. I think there is definitely something weird going on.

This isn't really a UFO but I'm not sure what it was so i'm going to post it here anyway. July 30, 2011I was in Austintown, Ohio and I was walking out of a movie theater late at night after watching "Cowboys and Aliens" and had gotten a couple hundred yards away from it when the sky in front of me suddenly lit up with little white lights shooting everywhere. It was like somebody had fired off one of those huge fireworks that shoot up in the air and explode in a big ball of white sparkling lights that crackle and pop all over the place. There was no sound at all from it and no other fireworks appeared anywhere. If I had to take a wild guess I would say it was one of those huge fireworks but I don't know that for sure. I can't think of any thing else it could have been.

There were a lot of other people out there but i think they were all busy getting in their cars and driving away. I was probably the only one that saw it from that direction. There might have been other witnesses in other parts of the city but they would probably just think it was a big firework. I suppose it could have been one.

That is very possible. Somebody could have had a leftover firework and they just launched it off just to get rid of it. With all of the people out drinking on Saturday night I could see somebody doing that...especially so soon after the 4th of July.
