Wellll that sounds either poltergeist play or like you have some other taunting visitor. Since it happened in the dead of night what ever it was would also know everyone else in the house was asleep besides you. I'm thinking that since you've been observing..you've been observed and I think one way to attract this 'stuff' is to pursue an interest in it. Please be cautious How does one be cautious? Cliff, my first thought was, you're more "open" since doing the __________. That event bothered you, where as I thought what you experienced that night could be a good thing ;D. My second thought to that was "nah", you went on to ask your family, and this stuff has been around. . . So, again, how does one be cautious? I mean, I could spend a lot of time asking "the universe" for protection. Please be more clear . ************************************************* How fun, Cliff! Nothing like a new baby! Enjoy! ;D ;D (thinking of you) Thanks for thinking about me Jc, I think of everyone here all the time as well. My apologies for not replying sooner. Like you'd mentioned, I have been more open about things . I have learned in the past few years to accept the unacceptable (unexplainable) and not to doubt as much because of past experiences. With that said, I've let certain 'doorways' open that never had been opened before and I have to be careful which ones to keep shut. I went out one night a couple of years ago and looked up at the Pleiades in the constellation of Taurus and out of nowhere I did something I never do. I asked 'them' "what do you want from me"? Right then and there a green fireball fell from where the pleiades was and lit up the fog as it quickly flared up and dropped down towards Springfield. That was the one and only green fireball I've ever witnessed. This also happened to another member here ! I have asked for protection and I do believe it was granted. Though for the past few years I've been studying ufology and the paranormal to try and find answers, I'm still relatively new to this stuff and rather clueless as to what is happening, who they are, and why they're doing it. I hope this helps explain the question you asked. It's difficult to explain. Cliff

Cliff- the main reason why we don't have any answers to those burning questions is because it seems every single experiencer and investigator has a different explanation!! "Well the aliens told me this, so that's the truth." "But that's not what the aliens who abducted ME told me so this is the REAL truth!" We just can't go along with people who claim to have heard the information "Straight from the horse's mouth" so to speak... People lie. It seems the aliens also do their fair share of lying as well...

I don't know how I know but for some reason I can tell whether or not someone is being genuine when it comes to abductions. I know the people (friends) here on this forum are telling the truth. I feel at home being among genuine people who have had similar experiences and feel more comfortable talking about it here than anywhere else.
I think we are alike in many ways yet different as individuals all seeking answers.

I feel at home being among genuine people who have had similar experiences and feel more comfortable talking about it here than anywhere else. I think we are alike in many ways yet different as individuals all seeking answers. I was talking to my friend Mark on Facebook for an hour tonight . He seems so sure that we will know a lot more about these ufos and aliens soon. I had said I won't be here by the time there is some sort of gain into this subject. He was trying to make me feel better I think and yet I know he was speaking from his true self. He has been waiting right along with us and still searching for answers . I know what you mean Cliff, by believing the post members make here as to something you see on the news. I'm like you sometimes I think I have gotten messages. And like Lorelei says what they told me is the truth. Maybe some are truths . you have to keep that in mind or researching would be all in vain. How are you going to add things up if there is not truths to add. I know they have brought me all those dreams of quakes. But it does no good to tell people as there is nothing you can do about it to stop it from happening. A total stranger because of a dream goes to a country and tries to tell them what is about to happen .. get real!! What is the point of dreaming it then? I could live very well with out those dreams. Aliens just showing what they can do , it is all about them .. not us or the quake. It is good to have predictions about friends so you can warn them and maybe change it by them taking heed to your message. I stick with my friends here so if I goof up on something I know they will not be my judge and jury. But I do discuss ufos on facebook now and that is something I have never never never done. I took another step. Coming on these forums was the first and I have never ventured beyond our family here when it comes to ufos and aliens. I sat on the sidelines and read mostly for a long time before I ever told a thing about my self. Like you I figure out who seem to be telling the truth and who was not. I stayed clear of those I was not sure of. At mufon we had more debunkers than experiencers... ;D I could see that after reading for about a month. I ignore them all until I could not take there remarks any longer directed at me. ;D I knew if they had not seen a ufo in their life they would not understand me. Imagine being in there shoes and reading all this stuff. ;D ;D What I do not under stand is why they wasted their time being there. Now here you do not see a die hard debunker. I think Mufon had a lot to do with it. TEOR has got them beat any day for members like us.We do just as much research and share are everyday life just as well. . Like JC and the rest they wanted a scientific forum . How can an abductee be so scientific about what happen to them as it goes beyond the worlds concept of who we are? There is no science for this.. not when it comes to their technology either. shapeshifing. What is science going to say about this? ;D Im tired.. it is late. I think I'm done. Like Louise always tells me . You lost me way back about an hour ago . you talk from one thing to another so fast I don't see it coming and missed it all . ;D.

I doubt I'll do too much posting anymore on other forums about these encounters Lois. I think Ive disclosed enough for what it's worth. The main reason I did to begin with was to try and understand myself what was/is happening and to let others know that it's for real and they are not alone. This all happened for a reason, whatever that may be .

I'm still at Mufon, but I never go there. I wanted on as they had a case from Bloomington over the park down the street. . They think now he was witnessing a blimp. Just because they had one roaming around over in Indiana that night did not mean he was seeing the same blimp. Why do they do that anyway? .. Just because an earthing object was in the sky.. at the same time. People take that as a sensible answer and always leave it at that. Makes most people think ufos are all mistaken identity .

After being alerted by amateur astronomers about a comet flaring up last night I had to take the scope out and try to track it down in the constellation of Pegasus before the clouds came back. Brrr it was cold out there ! After about 20 minutes I could see this faint 10th magnitude object with just a hint of a tail. It was pretty cool and the 1st comet Ive seen with the scope since buying it a couple months ago. It was the most challenging and difficult object to view yet.
The comets name is called comet '168P/Hergenrother'. I'm hoping that the comet called 'PANSTARRS' due in March , 2013 and the hopefully brightest comet ever 'ISON' due in Nov. and Dec. 2013 holds up to expectations as comets can be highly unpredictable.

With his permission, I'm posting a sighting for my neighbor across the street who just witnessed 2 ufo's. He was outside about 30 minutes ago and saw 2 stationary "stars" in the constellation of Pegasus ( I'm assuming from his description). After staying stationary they then both started moving across the sky in a northerly direction with one following the other. The object in the front then got extremely bright and huge, leaving a glow all around it. It then took a sudden dip downwards and then got exceedingly bright and then shot back upwards and then the two objects took off again northward one behind the other. I will be keeping a close watch on the skies tonight. It was right about this time last year that I saw the 2 glowing orange objects. I'll also be checking my software to see if any satellites or events were suppose to happen in this area. I trust this guys word. He is a really good person and we have recently become good friends. He's a great neighbor to have around. He described this as a once in a lifetime event. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Possible candidates for sighting above < ------------------------------------------------ Name : S1-16 R/B Satellite Const : Cygnus Dist. : 884.2 km Apparent Mag. : 0.90 ----------------------------------- Name :Iridium Sat Const : Pegasus Dist :845.2 App Mag.: 0.46 ----------------------------------- OKEAN 3 Sat. Cygnus 639.7 km. - 0.03 ----------------------------------- ISIS 1 Sat. Andromeda 4095.7km 3.76 This is based upon software I use called "Starry Nights" which gives a planetarium like setting in real time which shows the stars and constellations . It also shows the paths and info about satellites traveling across the sky. This still does not explain by no means what my neighbor saw because this is not typical behavior of satellites. I will show him the real time view of these sats. as they progressed across the sky and see what he thinks tomorrow as it is getting late.

Cool! Is the dude interested in UFOs or did he just know that you are? He see's me out with the telescope quite a bit and has come over before and looked through it. If I can recall correctly I think he said he did see something a long time ago in a conversation we had in the past. He knows I'm interested in this stuff. I'm pretty much open about it with almost everyone to a certain point as far as sightings go. I still haven't seen him today but probably will later on. It's like I tell everyone, if you want to see weird stuff in the sky just come over and stargaze with me and your odds will increase because strange type of stuff has been known to happen. Just ask my (former) fishing buddy,,, we haven't went back since. Bummer.

I just spoke with my neighbor and showed him the planetarium played back during the time of his sighting. Nothing matched so this is unexplainable. He said it definitely wasn't the satellites I showed him or airplanes. He did have another sighting when he was younger back in the 70's ( somewhere between 1975-78) in Rockford , Illinois. According to his description he saw an object come down from the sky about 500 - 1000 ft. away and then it just hovered for a brief moment above a shopping center mall. It then took off quickly and disappeared in a flash. He called for his older brothers to come out and look but by the time they came out the object was gone. It was rounded off like a dome at the top and bottom and sort of disc like but wasn't round in the center. He said it wasn't like what you would see in a movie. I asked him to try to draw it but he said he's not a very good artist lol , and neither am I. It's nice to know other people are seeing stuff in my neck of the woods besides just me.

Orange Glowing Objects followed by blue-strobing parallelogram: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About 2 weeks ago on the evening of Oct. 20 I took my dogs outside and looked around the sky and I saw these 2 orange glowing objects about the same brightness as jupiter descend from about 30* heading towards a farm house about 1/4-1/2 mile away but it might have been further. They were side by side and then the object to the right went above the other and one went close to the surface or maybe a few feet above and kept stationary while the other hovered, and then went up and down many times and sometimes blinked and changed magnitude. Me and my dogs watched this and then many dogs started barking all around including mine continuously for several minutes while this orange ball was moving around . I went back in the house to get the camera and started filming both videos and taking pictures for several more minutes watching this object go up and down and hover above the distant tree line. At one point it started hovering even closer but still at a distance and my dogs frantically ran towards the front door which is not like them at all to want to go back inside . While filming a video trying to capture them I then got an eerie feeling like something was approaching me and I started heading back towards the door and let the dogs in. I then peeked my head back outside and heard a sound like static or something electrical so I quickly closed the door and went to our bedroom where my fiance is and grabbed a weapon and told her what was happening. I ran out of memory card so I reloaded another from our other camera and she didnt want me to go back out but I wanted to try and get more footage. After a few more minutes went by I went back out and looked and then could only see one from a distance through the trees. My fiance asked the neighbors and they just got home and said they had seen helicopters on their way back. I couldnt hear these and I can hear helicopters from the local hospital miles away as its taking off because of the rural location in the country where we live. I could also hear cars heading north on the highway nearby slowing down so I figure others had to have seen them also. Unfortunately the video and the pics didnt show anything, but there may be one picture that does, not sure. It certainly doesnt depict what I saw. I cant imagine why the camera didnt show the images better unless the settings were off. When I went back out the last time there were four blue strobe lights in the sky flashing but didnt make a noise in the same place where these were what appeared to be structured like a parallelogram. Another thing worth mentioning is when I first saw the two descending a beautiful meteor about the same brightness and color flew right towards them . It was a year ago to the day that I saw those 2 orange objects hovering around and dancing followed by the blue strobing lights just north of town out in the country. If the weather allows I'll be watching out closely to see if they happen to return. I hope I don't happen to be 'visited' I'll also be watching the meteor shower too because last night they were fairly active and tonight they're predicted to be even better. Enjoy the show everyone ! Cliff Before this comet finally went out of reach of my telescope I was able to make several observations of it and was the 1st amateur astronomer to give a 1st light report of my observations over a major astronomical forum. I also spent several hours viewing through several other astronomers telescopes online worldwide and many precise calculations were made. Here is a link about this comet with a picture. It was much fainter in the scope in comparison to the picture provided. It was interesting to watch and moved noticeably quick to the background stars when viewing over a time period of several hours. I have viewed many comets throughout time with other telescopes I have owned but it was a first with my new latest scope. At the time of this publication it had already moved out of the constellation (Pegasus) that I had followed it in. Much better comets are predicted to come our way next year if they hold up to expectations. One of them may possibly be the best ever and might be visible during daylight hours,,, oh yeah ! www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/11/121104122651.htm?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+sciencedaily+%28ScienceDaily%3A+Latest+Science+News%29Cliff Here's a cool website for satellite tracking that I just wanted to add to the mix. www.n2yo.com/?s=25544

I know I talk about Astronomy a lot and sorry to bore anyone, but last night I saw something worth mentioning I think. It was a flock of geese ( again, I think). :- The formation was 'L' shaped but what I found so fascinating and surprising is their altitude. As I watched them fly across the sky through the scope they were so high that they were about the same width as Orions nebula which was in the same field of view as I tracked them. This is extreme and I had no idea that they were capable of this. When the night first began I saw so many aircraft that it was abnormal for this area. I thought maybe because of that storm Sandy that maybe it was because of that. I then noticed a large # of satellites and one of them caught my attention that reminded me of that reddish orange one with a bar running across that Lois photographed awhile back as it skimmed across the sky. That one was really cool. I then saw another one (I believe it's the same one both Lois and I saw ) that went across the sky and flashed brightly several times. The atmosphere was so crisp and observing through the telescope allowed me to see a number of beautiful galaxies last night with extraordinary detail. I was just amazed and I found this one which I have been having a difficult time finding , M74. I could just barely make it out but I finally found it. It was a great night !

I would like to introduce a link to all the members and guests here. This site is called " Night Skies Network". It has amateur astronomers from different locations around the world who sometimes go online and broadcast live from their telescopes so viewers can see the beauty of the sky also. They do not broadcast all the time, only when weather and other situations allow but you can also chat live with them also when they are on. I really enjoy observing with these people and it's an awesome link. Enjoy everyone ! www.nightskiesnetwork.com/At the moment there is a viewing location broadcasting live ! Cliff

O.K., so the most interesting call just came in a few minutes ago from my friend Jose in Puerto Rico who sometimes fishes for sharks. He was going through a place helping to clean it up and came across a tube that was about 6 ft. long and he estimates that it was probably at least 6 - 8 inches in diameter if not larger . He didn't know what it was and then read 'Meade' on it and found out it is a telescope. He is going to send the mirror to me which he says he thinks is good and any other parts on it that he can salvage which he said I can have because the people he is cleaning up the place with were going to throw it away anyhow,,,,,,YES ! I may be making a dobsonian designed reflector telescope soon if it all works out.

Why don't he just send the whole thing to you? Maybe it is still salvagable. That's a pretty big scope.

Why don't he just send the whole thing to you? Maybe it is still salvagable. That's a pretty big scope. I asked him to. He still hasn't taken measurements of it yet but he is going to send pics within the next day or so along with some of the specs. I did a shipping estimate quote from UPS from Puerto Rico and it was right around a hundred or more if I estimated correctly without the mount. He is searching around to see if there is a mount that goes with it but I will build a dobsonian if not which I'd rather do anyway. He is now talking about sending the tube and all but depending on the condition I may just have him strip it down and I can rebuild here . It may be more cost effective that way,,,, I just don't know yet until I find out more. I've always wanted to build and own a reflector and hopefully this will all work out. For average requirements to see a sufficient amount of detail in galaxies and most other objects, a diameter of about 8 inches is usually about right for reflectors. The refractor I have is a 120mm 4.7" which has viewing equivalence to an 8" reflector but it is mainly for lower magnification to allow more light gathering ability for wider field of views which works great on clusters, galaxies, comets, etc. It's still decent for the planets and the moon but it isn't designed for them in particular having a faster focal length of F/5 which I chose on purpose for several reasons. I'm curious what the aperture is (diameter of primary mirror). I hope it's at least a 6- 8 or more . That will basically tell it all whether it's worth it or not. I'm guessing for now that with the tube being that long that it's most likely an F/8 - F/12 or more as for the focal length. That will make a nice planetary, lunar, and deep sky scope capable of reaching higher magnifications for more planetary and lunar detail as well as a wide range of deep sky objects requiring higher magnifications,,, I hope. With it being free except for the shipping costs I'll be happy either way.

The pics will tell the story. If it has been in salt water for a long period of time the metal will probably be pretty much wasted. Some of it should still be salvagable though.

The main thing I'm concerned or curious about is the primary mirror. They normally have a coating on them that is delicate and saltwater plays havoc on them, so I've heard. I'm figuring that if this does all pan out that I'll most likely have to end up going through a fragile process (and one that I may regret) of cleaning the mirror(s) which is very difficult to do without scratching or damaging it/them . I'm almost certain that I'll have to do a laser alignment of the optics also which is usually a normal procedure for this type of scope. Even if these parts don't end up becoming usable I'm still planning on building one anyway in the near future hopefully. Most amateur astronomers normally use 2 different scopes. One for high power for the planets and moon, and the other for wide field and an increase in light gathering for other DSO's.
