I remember where I first seen Johnny, it was on the tv series 21 jump street. The producers daughter pick Johnny out of a lot of screen shots. She never knew him but told her Father I like him best. So the producer hire him. That is the way the story went as I heard it back then. He has his career as the results of this. He may of made it on his own.. Only setting it straight here.

Here are two versions of one of my favorite songs. I usually don't like when people remake old songs but Metallica did a pretty decent job with this one. I'm not sure which version I like better.
The original by Bob Seger
The newer one by Metallica

We did the metallica version in the band. The rhythm guitarist couldn't get the intro right but he really wanted to do it.... I kept telling him what the right notes were and he couldn't get it then i offered to do it on the keyboard but that hurt his feelings so I let him do it wrong... the male ego is very fragile as you know... Then the lead guitarist (who wanted to sing it) kept messing up the words when we tried to perform it and the lead singer and I were laughing at him all night... and for weeks... "So you walk into this restaurant all strung out from the road..." I would sing: "And the echoes of the amplifiers ringing in your head!" the lead singer would sing and we would be laughing hysterically and continue jumbling up the lyrics from all the verses and laugh until we cried. I guess I'm mean, huh?

I found this translation online... but it seems to be wrong in places... for example "Deep in the water- one doesn't cross" should be "Deep waters one doesn't cross".... and the grape reference comes sooner... in the previous verse because "Traube" is grapes... but they have it at the end of the song here in the translated lyrics... and there is nothing about "snow" either in this version he just repeats "I'll wait for you at the end of the night" over and over and that's the end... ...or maybe this live version is different than the original........ perhaps... ~sigh~ It isn't perfect... but you get the idea... german.about.com/library/blmus_rammst06.htmWild wine - before your castle Wild wine - I am ready They announce arrival - only for the king God stand by me - and open your gates Wild wine - and quite slowly Wild wine - so warm and moist Wild wine - before your lap Wild wine - it has been written Deep in the water - one doesn't cross But my desire - ridicules the wings Wild wine - like a dove Wild wine - so wet and hot Wild wine - before this darkness Wild wine - healed by the light It remains hidden - otherwise we could defend ourselves I wait for you - at the end of the night Wild wine - only one grape Wild wine - and bitter like snow I wait for you - at the end of the night

You guys remember "Hanson" don't you? The trio of young boys named Zack (12) Isaac (16) and Taylor (14) who played music which caused every girl between the ages of 12 and 17 (myself included) to swoon and sing along and drive grown-people EVERYWHERE bananas?
Well... I just remembered one song that was written by little Zack (the drummer) that was on their first CD "Middle of Nowhere", it was the last song and the inspiration for their album title.
It's about a man at a bus stop who flies away to mars... ~smirk~ Definitely something a 12 year old would write...
When he gets to talking into the megaphone (you can't hear him very well in this video) he's saying:
"Mother bird calling baby bird come in come in baby bird!"
"Sorry about that I was watching Court TV... do you copy? Do you copy?"
"Of course we copy! 24 hours a day IN COLOR!"
~smirk~

I remember Hanson. They did that song Mmmm Bop or whatever it was. they were one of those teenager bands like the New Kids on the Block. They didn't last very long. I guess they were not cute anymore when they were all grown up.

Very nice Steve... beautiful... just what I needed last night when I had trouble sleeping... lol...
A friend of mine posted this on facebook... it's AWESOME!!! (If you like classical music/opera at least...)
Wait for it to load completely before viewing... it's extremely high quality so it takes awhile to fully load... (otherwise it will ruin the experience for you by skipping and hesitating) but it is well worth the wait IMO...
I can't embed it because it isn't on youtube.

Is it just me... or do these people look like Greys with the big eyes?
o.O
Marilyn Manson is such a freak... but he's so freaking brilliant... I think the weirdest part of this song is the Gosphel-sounding backup singers at the end... lol...

The Mountains on My Mind
(C.W. McCall, Bill Fries, Chip Davis)
Rollin' down the runway Thinkin' 'bout the one-way of my life With another cup of coffee And another lonesome city far behind
This old 747 will be flyin' over Heaven One more time And the tears begin to fallin' When I think about the mountains on my mind
But now the skies above are sunny And it's time to say it's funny How I never thought I'd ever fly this high But maybe someday when it's over When I'm just a little older I can go back to the mountains on my mind
Flyin' through the night time To a far off city skyline in the dawn And a thousand lights below me Are like fireflies tryin' to tell me that I'm wrong
So I try to find a reason To forget the changin' seasons in my mind But the winds of time are blowin' And I've gotta go on knowin' that I tried
'Cause now I hear a different drummer And I've used up all my summers Chasin' rainbows that I really didn't wanna find But maybe someday when it's over When I'm just a little older I can go back to the mountains on my mind

Evanescence's instrumental piece entitled "Eternal"
It isn't often when one finds a modern rock musician who likes to do piano stuff... she does keyboard stuff along with it too though... ~shrug~
