Close Encounters of the Weird Kind

Due in no small part to the films of Steven Spielberg , the books of Whitley Strieber and decades of market saturation through television documentaries, magazine articles and internet hoopla, there are few people on Earth who are unfamiliar with the now iconoclastic image of the gray skinned, bulbous headed, black almond eyed aliens known as the Greys. These short, colossal cranium bearing, probe fetishists — which have plagued so many midnight motorists and slumbering suburbanites — have been chronicled ad infinitum in modern ufological lore and represent, to most, the prototypical image of an extraterrestrial entity.

While there is no denying that these odd creatures are far and away the most famous — or infamous, as the case may be — alien entities to have allegedly visited our world, the fact remains that they represent only a small portion of the truly bizarre beings, which people claim to have come into contact with over the decades.

These intergalactic fiends run the gamut from tiny imp-like critters, to colossal three-eyed giants, to one legged robots, to headless bats, to pointy nosed abductors with wrinkly skin, to pulsating space brains. Some ignore their terrestrial bound hosts; others are prophetic, while others seem to be mischievous or even overtly hostile. In fact, the only things these eccentric entities seem to have in common is that they are not of this Earth and that they represent some of the flat out weirdest creatures that eyewitnesses have ever claimed to have encountered.

THAT picture was most like the ones who entertained my friend and I. The eyes with that 'reflective' surface (I still think..they're not real eyes..but some sort of 2 way camera relaying information back to some other source). The nose was flatter..but those eyes are it. There are reports of the eyes being much bigger..but not the ones we saw..they were that size.

I keep thinking there's more to the abductions than just creepy little visitors getting their kicks tormenting kids. I really feel, after a long time of thinking about it, that they are created beings..or things..doing a job their overseers don't want to or can't perform. Mental connection..non identity (Curly looked exactly like Larry who looked exactly like Mo..etc). Most critters have identifiers..something that isn't like his fellow. Even sheep who tend to look alike..have differences. These things were like clammy, smelly quadruplets (I only saw 4). They even moved identically. We don't walk like each other..some of us saunter or walk with pigeon toes or stride right out..they moved exactly as one another with a smooth flow about them...almost snaky and just a bit unsteady like they were used to walking with something in motion. The eyes...I could see myself in they were so reflective. After the fact..it becomes very interesting to remember. I've put the frightening part of them way back in my brain and used a lot of anger to keep it there. Now..It's like seeing it on a TV. No need to be worried for me Lorelei. You have a natural and sweet tendency to want to 'soothe' and lessen bad things for people. It's a nice gift But they can only bug me as much as I let them now. I don't like them one bit..and it's disturbing when people want to call them down but they don't get my fear anymore

As if they were used to walking with something in motion... like they had "sea legs" from their moving craft huh? Very interesting that you observed and were able to understand that...

That's just the way I am... you're right. It's not necessarily a gift IMO... but I thank you for putting it that way... you seem to be OK with all of it... which I admire. Your strength of character amazes me every time I read your posts about your encounter. I feel you should be commended for that.

I read somewhere on here that some "abductees" (Or as the modern investigators like Steve say, "Experiencers") might have that syndrome... what's it called...? Where you fall in love with your captor and think they love you...? I just googled it... Stockholm Syndrome... that would definitely make sense...

I mean, I have on occasion (More often recently) found myself sitting alone at night wondering if maybe they would come to me and give me some answers... but the fear always pushes that thought away and I go and turn all the lights on again. I know I am not going to get any answers from them... but I still want answers nonetheless.

As Obi-Wan Kenobi once said, "Answers only produce more questions." This is true oh wise Obi-Wan... so true...

There was this type of motion that I can't adequately describe Lorelei..and this is funny because something to do with you made me remember a new thing. They made this sort of sideways, wavering, unfocused, unattached glide..coming closer to me. It was a really strange movement almost like they weren't solidly on the floor or ground, they were but weren't. I'm guessing I didn't recall that because it falls under the heading of really creepy and I've always thought that my mind kept trying to 'humanize' things about it..make it feel more 'normal' to my kid brain.
Hadn't remembered anything new in a long time..must be a good thing

It would make sense that they seemed to float around. Their bodies are so thin and they have such frail appendages that one would think they would have difficulty moving around while under the direct influence of our Earth's gravity. (My mind is going back to those frighteningly skinny arms and fingers again...)

My guess is that they most likely evolved to exist in a place with much less gravity (perhaps even in space? ). If this were indeed the case-- as it appears to be in my demented mind-- they most certainly have developed some sort of technology to help them cope with that gravity problem here on Earth since they seem to enjoy so much time here with us. The ability to float and drift with little physical effort would be an absolutely necessary ability here.

This would explain the ability of their craft to defy the laws of physics too... an anti-gravity device of some sort...

That's not a bad idea, Lorelei. They probably would need some type of assistance to move around in our gravity, and they very easily could have developed some mechanical way to levitate or increase their strength. With the advanced technology they have there is no telling what they are capable of doing. In fact, it might not even be mechanical. They seem to have advanced mental powers also. Maybe they can use their brain-power to help them to move or levitate. Either way could explain the reports of these beings floating through the air and moving so effortlessly..

They gave me a sense of 'floating' but their feet where on the floor..like they poured across the floor liquidish. The more I think about it..the more I believe they are 'manufactured' creatures. I'm not sure why you sparked my memory Lorelei..but I've remembered other stuff that I added to the thread with Lois' video. They have an arrogance about them that really isn't arrogance..it's just the way they are. They don't relate to emotion. Can't fathom one of them ever jumping up and down in frustration or anger..or showing anything other than this blank poker face.
To me that makes them creepier and more dangerous because even with the earth variety of kidnapper..there's always a chance you can sweet talk them into some mercy. That would not work with those I saw.
Know how Jello is when you don't dissolve it all the way and it sets? It gets this tough skin (I used to love eating it) now..well not so much. Their skin is like that..clammy & Jello-rubbery.

A mysterious sighting from 1980 that witnesses recently submitted to the Mutual UFO Network brought us back to a strange event in one witness' life. As the witness described the events, it's clear that throughout the entire event they were not afraid at all, though they understood they were clearly seeing something incredibly unusual. The report states that during the course of that night, they not only witnessed an extraterrestrial craft, but through one of the windows on the ship, these witnesses actually saw the craft's occupant as well.

Reports of extraterrestrial craft have always been relatively common, but recently there has been a major influx of remembered reports from witnesses who not only see the craft themselves, but also the occupants within. And while the descriptions of the witnesses seem to change somewhat from decade to decade, there are several themes that seem to run constantly throughout. The most common description is of a short pale white or grey entity with large black eyes, a small or no nose, and a tiny lipless mouth. But often, where the descriptions diverge from where they began is where the witnesses spot alien limbs which can vary from proportionally the size of a human body on a comparable scale to extremely thin and long. Another common feature are the fingers, which are said to be incredibly long and thin.

It was a long night. I was restless and had trouble sleeping. A couple of times when I managed to doze off I was jolted awake by something. I wasn't sure what it was but a presence seemed to be lurking about. Although there are several ghosts that come and go around my apartment whatever was about on this night was different. It seemed to be outdoors rather than inside and once I even got out of bed and looked out the window, but I saw nothing unusual.

It was just the beginning of dawn when I was again awakened. This time it was a sound. A creepy moaning noise followed by what sounded like very rusty hinges in need of a copious oiling. I lay in the bed covered by goose bumps. The sound didn't repeat but I could feel a faint vibration. Curiosity finally got the best of me so I got up to see what I could see, which at first turned out to be not much.

Looking out the bedroom window I saw that a heavy snow had fallen during the early morning hours. As far as I could see there was a pure white and trackless landscape. Going to the window that overlooks the highway I noted that no plows had cleared the road and no cars had been been by. All was smooth and unbroken snow. This was very unusual for a major highway.

On October 15 1995 there was an incident in a country where information about UFOs and other anomalous phenomena was almost non-existent and very much controlled by the government.

In the village of Torriente, Matanzas Province, Cuba, 74-year old farmer, Adolfo Serrate, despite the light rain, left his house early in order to work his cornfield.

Around 9:20 a.m. Serrate decided to take a much needed smoke break. As he exhaled the smoke he looked towards the sky and was surprised to see a round object that was descending quickly and silently towards the nearby fields. Scared, Serrate hid among the cornfield and the edge of the field. He was concerned he ‘would be kidnapped’ since his cousin had mysteriously disappeared in the same area 2 years before. Crouching low to the ground he watched the round craft descend to the ground. It gently landed on some grass on a sort of landing gear that the witness compared to ‘skates.”

The surface of the object was very smooth, without any visible details and it gave Serrate the impression that it was colored in different tones of green, almost as if camouflaged.

He estimated the object to be as large as a passenger car. Breathlessly he noticed that the object had a transparent glass section, which he interpreted as the control cabin. The strange craft did not have any wings or rotors or wheels like he was familiar with when he was aircraft mechanic in the service. To Serrate it resembled the top of a turtle. An aperture like that of a sliding door became visible, and from where he was, about 60 to 80 metres away, he could not clearly see the interior. However he was able to see what appeared to be a human-like figure come out of the opening. He was not able to see any facial features since the figure was completely covered in a suit the same color as the object.

The figure’s head and face were covered with a sort of gas mask black in colour. The individual walked around the object and on several occasions seemed to bend down and pluck some of the malanga and calabaza roots on the field. The figure then walked behind the object and when he came around again he leaned against the hull of the object next to the opening. He then made a sort of gesture with his head towards the inside of the object perhaps communicating with other unseen occupants. Moments later he boarded the object and the door closed, without leaving any signs that it was actually there. Serrate remained watching the scene not knowing what to expect next.

Suddenly he felt a sort of air wave or shock on his face, which also disturbed the cornstalks and other small plants around him, at the same time he could see the UFO ascending vertically into the sky, without emitting any fire, smoke and making any noise.

Introduction

Here is a very interesting report of a landed UFO and a close encounter with alien beings. Although it occurred over 50 years ago, it has only recently been made public.

The report was sent to me by a good friend who is a MUFON State Director. He is in a favorable position, as many feel comfortable relating their experiences to him, and not worrying about their privacy being invaded.

The events of this case began on an October day, 1958, in Hunter, New York. It was just before the official start of deer season, and the eyewitness and two of his hunting buddies were getting ready for the season by visiting Hunter.

Journey to Devil's Canyon

His friends let our witness out between Blackhead and Roundtop Mountains so he could hunt for some bobcat. At this point, he made a pile of stones as a marker to find his way back through the thick woods. He then began his journey into an area called the "Devil's Canyon."

He walked about one hundred yard toward the canyon, when he came to a clearing in the woods. At the very edge of the clearing he was surprised to see something in the middle of the canyon ahead of him. From a distance, his first thought it was a building of some sort. He wondered to himself, "Why would anyone put a structure in the middle of nowhere?"

Flying Saucer, Aliens

Once he got a better look at the object, he was shocked to see it was a landed flying saucer. The bottom was flat, with a slight curve on the edges. The object was about 8 feet above the ground. He could see a couple of landing legs of a sort.

Even though he was in awe at what he had seen, he was not prepared for what he saw next; two, very lean beings that were not from this world. They stood at one end of the UFO, and were apparently communicating with each other.

He was too far away from them to hear any of what they were saying, but from their facial expressions he could tell the conversation was quite emotionless.

He also noted that the craft was producing a low hum, and had dull-colored lights spanning the middle. These lights were various colors; orange, blue, green, and more, all seeming to merge as one.

He also could see a small cupola to one side of the top section. He estimated that it was 2 ft. high X 3 ft. wide. The UFO was approximately 12 ft. tall. He watched the unknown object and two beings for about 10-15 minutes.

This happened in Dec of 1990. I was in the US Army at the time near the end of Flight School. I was stationed at Fort Rucker, Alabama. This took place inside the barracks in our room. There were three of us in the room at the time. It was in the middle of the night, not sure what time. There were two bunk beds in the room. I was on the top bunk with my room mate on the bottom. The other bunk bed held my other room mate, he slept on the bottom. I awoke that evening, looking towards the door, seeing an entity next to the door to our room. I assumed it was "guarding" the area. The immediate thought that ran through my head was to make a lot of noise, trying to wake my roomy's and possibly get others to come into the room. But then I thought that if I were sleeping/dreaming I would look like a real idiot, so I passed on that idea. I then looked over to my right and saw the shadow of a second entity. Apparently this one was "working" on my room mate on the bunk below me. I have no idea what it was doing, but it was moving at an incredible speed. I had the sense that there was a third entity in the room although I couldn't see it. I then decided the take advantage of the situation and get a good look at this thing by the door. The first thing I noticed was that the middle hinge on the door was exactly how tall this thing was. After looking this thing over for about a minute or two, it saw me awake. It didn't take long for it to notice me either. It pointed in my direction and moved its mouth (as if yelling or talking or whatever to the other entity's) telling them I was awake. At that point a thought came to me that if I closed my eyes they may think I was asleep and leave me alone. After what seemed only a few seconds I opened my eyes again and everything was gone. Of course I assumed I was dreaming but when I opened my eyes, I was in the same exact position, looking the same way I was before. The next day my other roommate (not the one "worked on") noticed some welts on my back. There were three of them. I laughed it off, but never took the time to look at the welts in the mirror. I would like to be contacted by a MUFON investigator about this incident, please.

During my time writing about the paranormal I too have received reports that can only fit into the area of extreme high strangeness..
I have written in the past about a few odd experiences people have told me about which I will include later in this article.

I decided to bring these things back to my readers attention due to an event that occurred to me while I was visiting an old friend who I grew up with recently . She lives on the North Shore of Long Island New York on the east end of Long Island close to Montauk Point. The locals call this area the North Fork section of Long Island.

Her house is located on a long country road with only a few houses along a wooded area mixed with farmland and wineries with acres of grape vines set in never ending rows.
It is a beautiful area that is sparsely populated.

I have been spending time on the North Fork recently as Fall is the best time to visit this area. When I do head out on the Island I always make a point of visiting my childhood friend.

During my recent visit with her we were able to enjoy a beautiful fall night sitting around her fire pit which is in the middle of a huge deck that wraps around the back of her house. It was about 10PM as we sat with a group of my pals friends enjoying the fire on the big open deck under the star lit sky sipping a glass of a local wine .

As we sat there talking we all suddenly stopped what we were doing and became silent as a loud blood curdling scream came blasting from the woods that surround her home.

We all stood up first in shock mixed with the natural reaction of fear at what we just heard. Before any of us could ask what it was we just heard it happened again. The scream was unlike anything any of us had ever heard before.

The screams were extremely loud and intense. We could not judge exactly where they were coming from. It seemed as if they were surrounding us rather than coming from one direction. The men with us who knew the woods were shocked as they never heard anything like it before.

My friends husband fetched a rifle from his house so he and the other men could walk around the border of the property to see if they could find a source for the screams. They took large flashlights and walked the land to see if they could figure out what was howling the horrid ripping screams coming from the dark cool night.

As the men walked the east side of the land the screams seemed to be coming from the west. On the west side they sounded as if they were coming from the east. Quickly it was determined that the power behind this loud screaming was not able to be fixed. It just seemed to be coming from everywhere.

The intensity of the howling was so horrific that we could only imagine a large living animal being ripped apart by something in a slow cruel manner. It made your hair stand on end and your knees shake.

The neighbors came over as they too were listening to this extreme torturous screaming and were confused on what it could be or why they could not figure out where exactly it was coming from.

It was late night in late October early November of 1975 I was a 10 year old child. At that time I was going through a late bed-wetting phase and remember I was determined to end that embarrassment. I awoke for the second or third night in time to relieve myself and remember being happy and proud that I caught it in time again. As my eyes creaked open slightly I saw movement in the room and at least what I thought were African American kids in my room moving around. I remember thinking that the only thing they could steal of any value was my prized small black & white TV that was on my dresser next to my bed. As you can imagine at this time my heart was pounding through my chest and just wanted them to take the TV and leave. I creaked my eyes open ever so slightly as not to be noticed and was shocked to realize that they weren?t afro?s (which were common at that time) but were whole heads. I can?t really express my thoughts of that instant realization when I saw who was really in the room at that time other than how in a nanosecond I went from (There?s no such things as aliens-to-Oh, my GOD there real-to-What do they want). At that time there was no such things as ?Greys? or anything similar to what has been so defined into pop culture today. Being late October early November there was a harvest moon and I had a fairly large picture window in my room which lead to some fair amount of ambient room lighting which I shared with my 5 year old brother who slept in a adjacent bed next to mine. During this event I was creaking my eyes open enough as not to be noticed, laying on my back when I woke up and my bed covers were at my waist. ALL I wanted was to get my bed cover up to my head so I was ever so slowly and methodically creeping them up during this entire event. As not to be noticed. There was a larger one that stood against the wall directly across from the foot of my bed that just stared at me. There was another knelt down on the opposite side of my brothers bed and what I thought at the time was that he was doing something to his arm. I my head at the time my mind was reeling, my parents room was directly behind me and if I screamed my father would come running in. I remember thinking that the one next to my brother I was taller than and equated him to being in ?my grade? remember I was 10. So if he came over to me my big plan was to jump up and dive on him and scream for my dad. The one against the wall just standing there I remember as being a grade or two older than me and he would probably do something before my dad to get in. I remember thinking I could end the whole debate that are we alone in the universe and the weight of that thought being succumbed to he?s killing my brother and not being able to muster the internal strength to do something. My next thought was that if he comes over to me he can?t put a needle in me so I started to tear up and that diffused my sight to what was happening in the room. Then the one that was knelt next to my brother got up and came at me, pure horror as my eyes were teared and he rounded my brothers bed and in one motion knelt down on his right knee and in one motion opened his toolkit and kind of flipped and twisted his left wrist and reached in. At that very moment I couldn?t hold it anymore and thought needle! and I made a audible pre-cry whale. The face that the creature made still haunts me today. Honesty. It?s the same face people make when they make a surprise mistake a ?eek I did something embarrassing? facial expression. His mouth was just a slit so when he made that expression his face rippled and wrinkled like a old man. Immediately whatever he was taking out of his box which was a really weird shape then but not now, it was (Hexagonal with a diagonal opening and handle) put it back in got up and they marched out. Again another part of this is memory that has crept me out is how they moved like the military and moved or better said marched out of my room. I was shocked and with unreal timing as I looked down the hallway when they past my parents room two more came out and filed in line which such precision and marched down the hall and all turned down the stairs out of my sight. Again I must stress the timing was if they were one. Needless to say I didn?t sleep the rest of the night. My younger brother was fine in the morning, and no one in my family knew anything of the nights event. I lived near a large metropolitan area at the time and our house was the only house surrounded by 260 acres of woods. I only told a handful of people since then and find it very difficult and seriously doubt many of these accounts I read of abductions myself. Ironic isn?t it. They were very, very real, and I wish I dream't it but I didn?t. My impression then and my life of the events of that night is that these beings are cold and indifferent to us, basically they are not our enemies but most certainly aren?t our friends. There might be a very good reason our government has kept this secret for so long. Side note: Physical appearance is not as "Sinister" as depicted. More of blue/grey artic silver color than grey. Bulbous joints with slightly distended stomachs, very similar to dwarfism. Seen mouth slits move slightly along with large head movement just as like they were speaking but heard nothing.

Auntym.. I don't believe I have heard it told they marched away instead of float. Not too many see the feet on aliens to describe it.. she was granted a lot without memory loss..

remember the book... THE ANDREASSON AFFAIR....?

i remember her describing the aliens as coming into her home 'single file' and leaving the same way... ... i don't know if that could be considered marching or not.... also i can't find my book to confirm this....

i've also read other articles claiming the aliens move in a single file.... maybe that could be thought of as marching.... ... IDK

That's possible. Marching doesn't actually have to mean marching like soldiers do. It could just be that they were in a formation of some sort. It might also just be the way the witness described them walking.

How about the way time seems to go at a different rate when your scared (or falling)? Seems like they move very fast, to fast, and have to be still when they stare at a person. So what effect does our perception of time and their rate of movement combined have on our sense of how they are moving. Combining these two factors, our mind wants to imagine them moving at our rate.

If they are really advanced biologically enhanced machines (a good choice ro send on space missions to dangerous planets) then their capabilities might not match carbon based living things.
