The only experiences I have had with this abliity is to see future events or see past events brought known in a dream. Is dreaming phychic.. ?? The only thing I would describe as paranormal was when I was a teenager I had this horrible nightmare of these floating heads were chasing me and then I abruptly woke up in fear and started looking at the mirror and I saw this point of light, it started to grow bigger and bigger coming at me and it was a floating head with a cut up face, the face started speaking and said it was me from the future and it instructed me to do some really bad things and then it went through me as I stared walking to the restroom but was real groggy and overwhelmed with shear terror. I went up to my parents and my father said you just had a bad dream go back to sleep. The proper term for that is called hypnopompic stateI was in a semi-conscious state still having a nightmare, hallucinating. Another occasion a cat that had been in our family for 14 years died. I was living by myself at the time and while I was dreaming the cat appeared and it looked like it wanted to run toward me but was blocked by an invisible force so it sat there with a look of despair and started to slowly fade away while staring at me. I woke up and felt depressed the whole day. It was the subconscious minds way of having sorrow over the loss of a family pet. The only ghostly moment I can think of is I worked graveyard at a museum in a very old building. One room would always smell of cigar smoke around 3:00 AM in the morning. People were real spooked out about this place and I mentioned it to one of the curators and he told me that's a ghost. The person who founded the museum 100 years ago used to smoke a cigar in that very room. I concluded it was just a ploy to get more tourist.

It sounds to me like you came to the correct conclusions about all three of those things. There's nothing wrong with that.

UFO4P you weren't invited because you are brilliant or because you are right..you were invited to give you as much of a chance to state your opinions as the rest of us have here. No one knows the answers..we are all sharing experiences and questions. Calling the women here 'desperate' is just another cheap shot meant to provoke and it's just darned childish. Sky..Lois is right..how long IS this thread going to continue? At this point..it's just a waste of space. Anyone else feeling 'odd' energy in the new year?

And again maybe not.. Three years ago, I lost a friend and shortly afterwards like clockwork, I started smelling at ten pm.. while sitting at my computer a strong sense of flowers. My husband was always in bed by then. I put this on a passed forum as it happened. Everyone suggested it was a message from my friend that she was ok. Same time for the cigar smell and same time for the floral smell. Just a thought.

I dreamed about my Grandmother after she passed away and she had a lot of plates of food set out near the microwave. I used to always go over there and eat a lot. I later went to my Grandparents house during an estate sale and it was empty. It was pitch black dark outside because this was out in the country. So I decided to take a nap on the couch and I turned the ceiling fan on. I later woke up to a loud laughing sound going had..har...har...har...har...har..har.. I looked up and it was just the ceiling fan so I turned it off.

I think you have hoped to have an out of the box experience and have not - other than a somewhat usual dream about your grandmother after she died. Nor have I heard you tell about a UFO or contact experience that does not fit into a scientific explanation. The fact that you may have been a source of pain and probably anger as well. (Why not me!) I will only say that our experiences come when they come. Although I felt I have had specific contact with several dead persons close to me, I also NEVER felt any contact from a husband I lived with for 20 years. Maybe I did have a message but I didn't like it one bit - I'd be looking for him (in a dream) and find him and he'd just walk away and refuse to engage with me. But time has tempered my feelings about that. I think it is likely that he was mad at me for leaving him before he died and if there is any afterlife work to be done, letting go of anger is definitely part of it IMO. Anyway, 6 years after his death I was invited to give a speech at my son's wedding and the first thing I said was that "if ..... could be present, and he just could be, he would be very proud." This was heard by my ex husband's son and also his brother and sister in law who were present. If it was fiction, it was in the service of acknowleging my ex's part in the raising of his son. If there was anyway that he "got" the message that I acknowledged him and thanked him for providing me with this son...then I'm glad. I do know that I was approached by about twenty people who were touched for their reasons by my speech. I wish for you the experiences that you need to have an open heart. Call me anything you like. I know that its not about me. After all....I'm just words on a screen...

I'm a pretty hard-core skeptic, but that's because perception is a fragile thing that more often than not, is mistaken on the basis of assumption. We do indeed foment all manner of ideas in our heads and go about wearing our very own personalized pair of tinted glasses.
This isn't a bad thing, really - what can we do about it? It's an unavoidable facet of consciousness and existence. We are complex organisms with a terrific amount of distraction taking place at any given moment of time. It's why I take everything lightly at first, and question it all. Truth be told, the mind and life itself is mysterious enough without having to go too far out on a limb to make it so. We only perceive a few molecules perched atop a titanic iceberg comprised of unimaginable numbers of similar molecules. What we do see, we see dimly.
Psychic ability is virtually impossible to corner in a clinical setting. It hasn't been done. If it has, this knowledge hasn't been shared with neither the scientific community nor the world at large. I have my own theory regarding that, and it's simple. It's the only model I can come up with that even remotely fits my own experiences. Psychic abilities neither work like we think they should, nor are they what we think they are in the first place. We operate under numerous assumptions, and those assumptions directly influence our perception (or perhaps mis-perception) of reality.
I think whatever they are, they arise from energetic and biochemical processes closely allied with the brain. They might be a consequence of quantum interaction between the brain, the environment, and consciousness. The model of consciousness we inhabit is rather elementary at this point: bicameral and binary at the core, not unlike computers and artifical intelligence. We are essentially organic radios, both transmitting and receiving frequency on a constant basis. Our present challenge is to master the model of consciousness we presently inhabit. Only by doing so may we begin to expand the frontier of our awareness.
My experiences with telepathy included other people in non-intentional situations - in other words, they just happened as life was going along. I've reviewed them extensively and I'm left looking at what I wrote a few paragraphs ago: something that just happened. I can't intentionally reproduce it. It happens when it happens, much like the "visions" I experience. I have no rational explanation for why they happen. There is neither a medical nor psychological basis for any of it.
I'm quite adept at observation and analysis. I've been able to analyze and satisfactorily understand some rather mystifying experiences. Hypnogogia can explain a great deal when it comes to unusual sleep and hypnotic phenomena: the most powerful trickster is the human mind itself. Yet there are those things that remain beyond the realm of the possible and understandable...things that just happen. Those are the things which leave me puzzled. "Psychic" abilities do indeed exist, but I think they are rather random and perhaps some kind of quantum feedback related to consciousness and awareness.

I am with you on this to a good degree Bewildered. A prosaic explanation does not sufficiently explain most of this. Psychic ability as you comment is virtually impossible to corner in a clinical setting. In my experiment with Mary, when a person hears from his or her so called 'higher self' in hypnosis, it feels so familiar a "presence" or "thought" that one thinks one is "making this up". Mary seems sure somehow it is not. But how? I am enthusiastic about the experiment, but there is a skeptical part in me that wishes to look at all of this more comprehensively. It could be just what it is, but it seems to simple too. There seems to be neither a medical nor psychological basis as we know it, or perhaps there is and we are not recognizing it perhaps.

Not to long ago I set out glue traps because there was a mouse running around and I went to bead and dreamed I was trapped and couldn't escape. I forget what I was trapped in but when I woke up there was a little mouse trapped in a glue trap. The mouse looked frightened and it crapped all over itself with its legs mangled. I couldn't free the mouse from the glue. After that I thought the old fashioned mouse traps were better and less cruel.

Steve It can be a frustrating avenue of discovery at times, Steve. My own situation is compounded even further by the fact that I have a very strong capacity for visualization. I can, with very little effort, completely fabricate a small town tucked away in the Hill Country of Texas, and populate it with a cast of compelling, quirky characters. That was a little exercise I tried once when I sat before my keyboard, attempting to write a poem. No matter how mightily I tried, I couldn't come up with a single word to start it off. I thought to myself - how can I just come up with stuff out of the blue, yet when I try to come up something, the well runs dry? It's a tough place to be, and also why I don't write professionally. That has been my "block" for as long as I have committed words to paper - or these days, words to a hard drive. That's when it hit me: I require a vision. I must see something in my mind. When I try to think of words, I fall flat on my face. Words themselves lack meaning or substance. They must be symbols of something therefore, keys to unlock doors so to speak. Only when that happens do words suddenly come alive and begin to flow. The words arrive to describe what is inside. It can be so compelling that they seem to me to have a life of their own. I am but the scribe, a stenographer committing them to paper. So for kicks, I imagined a hick town somewhere in the sticks. I could see the sky as it looks in such a place - clear blue with wisps of white far above. I saw the buzzards riding the thermals, rising and falling at the whim of the wind, looking majestic and eagle-like from such a dizzying height (many people mistake soaring carrion birds for hawks or eagles since their silhouettes are so similar). I could smell the cow manure in the breeze mingling with dusty earth and gasoline engine exhaust. The sun glinted off the windshield of a mid-80's Ford F-150 as it rumbled by on the unpaved road. A tremendous yellow lab sat in the bed, his floppy jowls and ears flapping in the breeze. It was stifling hot, just like Texas in the summer... What I had intended as a five-minute exercise ended up lasting a few hours. I could hear, see, smell, and touch everything. I wrote short stories for over 8 people in that place...the unincorporated town of Freisburg, population 423 (a little touch of German for that "authentic" Hill Country touch). The words came like a flood simply because I stopped trying so hard to make them come. I also created a language that way for the book I was working on. I wrote a hundred pages or so full of definitions for words that just popped in my head. I created a structure similar to Hebrew and Arabic, and went from there (mind you, I don't read nor write either of those languages, but I gleaned enough of their structure to wing it successfully). Once I had the basic forms down, it became a pattern I used to build terms and phrases. Easy. My point is this: I tried and tried and tried, and couldn't come up with the first word for a simple poem. I stopped trying, went with the first thing that came into my mind on a whim, and ended up writing a few short stories in the span of 4 hours. I created a town complete with unpaved roads, beat-up pickup trucks, nosy neighbors and eccentric retirees (ala Gran Torino). A far cry from where I was. It was so vivid and real in my mind, if I didn't know any better, I would have thought it was a real town with living, breathing people. That seems to me to be at the core of our problem here. When we just let go and let things happen - or to wax Zen, "let things be" - then some pretty amazing and fantastic things can occur. Imagine this: picture trying to duplicate the experience of life in a laboratory. I am willing to bet a trip to Saks Fifth Avenue it wouldn't work very well. Just how many factors blend together to create the experience of a life? You would have to be aware of every single detail and influencing factor...all external and internal stimuli...down to atomic and molecular activity! In order to duplicate such a thing as accurately as possible, you would have to understand how it all works. Or you could just toss it all aside, take off your tie, and walk out that lab door. You would suddenly find yourself experiencing life without actually trying to do so. I have a suspicion that is precisely how psychic abilities work. They are so inextricably intertwined with the experience of life itself, you utilize them without ever being aware of it. By the same token, we try so hard to find them that we end up finding ourselves lost. Perhaps we try too hard. Or...maybe we shouldn't try at all?

I don't believe these member here came here to make up stories. They would not be here unless something unreal happened to them. I experienced many strange things so I listen and it is not hard for me to acept just about anything which is not part of our reality. If I read lies, I'm no worse off.. by it if I do believe it.
Ufo4peace.. what got you interested in these forums? How come you have studied and researched so much if it is just a story. You seem to draw your own conclusions.. but first you had to be interested or you would not be spending so much time reading. What about the praying mantis stories you gave me on other forums . How and why did you bother to know about these cases with this such Alien?
The rest of us is doing the same thing, but we know why we are.. I know much is speculation just like I speculate the ship I witness is from another planet There is no living creature on this earth if they had seen this ship would say our govenment built it. No way...
If you see a white car parked on the street . you know that car is white no matter how many people tell you it is red or black or green.. Etc. They may say to you . . you are color blind. This is how I have had people do me, but it does not matter. If I can connect with one member here in some way , this forum is worth coming to..
The latest news gets here on this forum and sometimes never is shown to the public or in the news. Where would I find it? No! these members are not here telling stories.

Disagree, for example I can pick up a science book and read about onion cells. Place an onion skin in a microscope and see the onion cell or plant cell. It's been proven. A fictional book is like Bewilders claims. Made up stuff. Someones imagination.
Now let's look at the disappearing car claim. You may think you saw a disappearing car or you were being abducted and when you were going down the road again things looked different. The car coming toward you was no longer there.
Another possiblity. You were having a conversation seeing a car down the road and moments later you said hey, what happened to that car? In reality the car zoomed by real fast but in the moment of conversation since you ate into the paranormal you convinced yourself it just vanished.
The car could have swerved off the road into a ditch. Turned down a country road or something to that affect. In my entire life I never saw cars, people on bicycles, pedestrians just vanish into thin air.
Instead of the event actually happen it could be a false memory.
Often times there's a rational explanation to something. It's just you don't understand what you are seeing.

Sorry for the typos. Apple has an annoying spell correction thing. Forums also suck on an iPhone unless you install an app. It's like a little tiny box area to type a response.

It's hard to believe or accept until it happens right before your eyes,,, and then it freaks you out and leaves you in a state of awe.

This car approached a semi on a curve coming at us. the semi passed pass us and the car did not. it was only seconds. All three of us looked back at the semi nothing but a semi.. Illinois is flat as a poker and when no crop in the field it is flat as a pancake. No deep shoulders at all off the road was flat. We stopped and comb the field with our eyes in pure sunlight. Nothing but lumps of black dirt we have the blackest dirt in the entire country.. . A bright yellow sport car would of stuck out like a sore thumb .
You could of seen a bird standing out there easily if it had been yellow that alone a car. We all three notice it as it was such a stunning car and beautiful .. The top was down and the guy driving had on a bright red shirt. It was a convertible. If you were there you would of done the same and could never of explained it away.. He was only feet from us as we were along side the semi two seconds after he went behind it .. It was a two lane country road and narrow. Your explanation does not help in the least.

Maybe he was abducted .. car and all.. at once in a second. . No beam no flash of light in the sky. They must of got him in some other way which no one has witness yet. I would never believe this myself . I see past and future a lot, so this is the best I can come with. But the other two would not of seen it. I believe that car went through a time slip or portal.

Time portals do not happen because there would accidents with a person from a different time period. Also the landscape changes over time and the earth rotates and orbits around the sun. There really aren't anomalies in the law of nature. It's one reason you are able to drive down the road without worrying there will be a wall appearing in front of you if there is just empty road. Things just don't disappear or appear out of nowhere. The curve should give you a clue as the 18 wheeler zoomed passed the convertable went around real fast. Sometimes cars will disappear but they really just run off the road into a creek or river or a car will be stuck in a tree running off a bridge. There are a lot of horror stories of people being trapped in their cars for days and nobody sees them.

The 18 wheeler was ahead of the car by 30 or more feet. It did not pass the convertible or it would of hit us head on.. Anyway. I really don't think I will find an answer. I don't even think about it until a thread like this pops up.
My brother has passed but I could ask my son exactly what he witness that day and maybe there is a part I'm leaving out..His memory is very good always has been. He is 43 today and maybe 17 back then.

Perhaps psychic abilities are just now beginning to develop in humans which is why nobody understands what they are or how they work. Maybe in a few million more years (if we survive that long) everybody might be psychic and they could actually communicate using telepathy instead of vocal sounds. Perhaps that is the direction we are evolving in...we just haven't gotten there yet. Anything is possible. Hi SkyWalker, You bring up some interesting touch-stones.. >Perhaps psychic abilities are just now beginning to develop in humans..As I understand things, everything conscious is psychic to some extent, even if we are unaware of it in ourselves. It is a natural developmental process. There are various reasons for the apparently sudden rise in the general public awareness of psychic abilities, one is primarily owing to the vast personal information sharing that has been enabled via the advent of the InterNet. Couple that with the loss of effective Christian suppression of subjects relating to psychic, occult, Mysticism is 'evil' indoctrination promotion, again owing to the expanding freedoms of expression outside of religious constraints. And also, (an interesting realization), that simply introspecting with focused intent, through our visual interfaces of the computer-screen, enhances one's ability to connect with the parties that we intend to contact. In so doing, a connection is formed with the other party. It is an autonomous function. We are all becoming more psychic. It is also interesting to note, and while this is taught in the secret school curriculum, simply being within the psi-field of a more dominate psychic, the lesser dominate will move into psi-resonance with the dominate psi-field. It is likely for this reason that Humans become more pyschic when in the presence of the highly psychic Greys and Reptilians. Simply being in their field, we move into resonance...the stronger 'field' re-neuro-map our neuro-pathways in our brains. It is not intentional on their behalf. ET do not desire that Humans awaken-psychically. They work to suppress it, in the past it was through the religions. >...which is why nobody understands what they are or how they work. The religious authorities have for many centuries suppressed all overt knowledge of the psychic realm, often through excommunication, in more extreme cases, confiscation of property, torturing and burning at the stake of those suspected of having studied, and-or thought to have performed Mystical acts. These actions were deemed as works of the Devil...evil, as being synonymous with Dragon worship. It is for this reason alone that most people in the Western world have little or no understanding of the natural functions of our birth-right of God-Physics. However, there are schools which are mostly underground (via long entrenched inertia) who teach Mystical God-Physics...how reality works with-relation-to (wrt) dimensional God-Physics of consciousness. To name a few of these 'secret schools', or perhaps more specifically, 'schools with secrets' (all are ancient Egyptian Rosicrucian Orders): Golden Dawn, Masonic Order:(my Dad, Grand Dad, my Great Great Grand Dad were all Masons) AMORC Rosicrucian Order (I was raised in AMORC, I am Rosicrucian trained), Martinists (I was a member for over 15 years), Brotherhood of the Light, Ancient Brotherhood of Rosicrucians, etc. There are a number of other R+C schools. If interested, just poke around, get a feel for their energy, if it calls to you (resonates), join. plutronus

I think a lot of things fall under the 'faith' category, that we really are not supposed to 'know' everything. I also believe that we all have latent psychic abilities..but in some people they are more developed and maybe some of this is the aftermath of abduction..as many here who have been abducted also notice the increased psychic abilities. Another dimension of the senses. I keep going back to the idea of abductions happening to those who can fulfill some purpose they have to do with these abilities.

That's an interesting idea that I have never heard of...that the presence of a more powerful psychic could enhance the abilities of other people in the vicinity. I suppose that's possible. I've always thought similar to what Jo just said, that abductees are targeted because of their latent psychic abilities and that those abilities are enhanced because of whatever it is the abductors do to them. It never occurred to me that the enhancement might be an accidental side effect. But if they are trying to suppress the psychic abilities then what is the reason for the abductions? They have to be taking people for a reason. What else could it be? ???

I only have memory of the Grey's and the only 'psychic' thing I felt from them was suppression...my head felt stuffed and throbbed every time I struggled. They had more trouble with my friend who seemed less sensitive to the mental whammy...she was fighting and yelling her head off. She didn't end up with any psychic left overs..and has no memory or wish to remember. I am positive that the first visit when I was a child was sparked by my sobbing prayers over my parents divorce and they 'heard' it. Message to God intercepted by nasty little grey thugs...who'd have 'thunk' it.. I'm inclined to think they want the psychic leanings for a few reasons. It's easier to control someone who's closer to your wave length? I know I can feel other psychics.. perhaps the mental structure makes it easier to hunt then use us. They could be manipulating our dna slightly..who'd know it? I do know my kids all have it to some degree and that they are very mentally close. There is a very strong affinity to animals in all of us, we can sense their 'feelings' and we seem to be very attractive to them. I think these things were enhanced in me and passed to them because I am sure they haven't been abducted...or as sure as I can be. To this day though, I firmly believe the things were attracted to me by an intercepted prayer. I've been told by 'holy men' that to pray amidst tears is the strongest of prayers. I believe it.

psychic abilities are very real but our society by such things as witch trials have suppressed those abilities. This may be to the good since the dark side is very tempting. Anger is a strong emotion and if combined with strong pshychic ability the end results can be very dangerous. From my own experiences it is rather easy to do some things but not all the time if that makes sense. Its a hit and miss thing that I never had complete control over, at least not yet. It is obvious to me that any person who could control physical objects for example would be tempted by the dark side to gain power in our society. there is no real limit to what can be done by the human mind. Our society is not really at the point that people could handle such power. the strong code of morals is lacking. Nothing is impossible to the mind nothing. All can be done but the dark side is tempting and best left alone The primative beast in man would come out and our society would collapse in ruin in a few weeks. A moral code has be installed before man could handle the ability to start fires at a distance or to have absolute control of other people Sounds rather out there but I have seen what can be done just not all the time

Reentely my sisters family had some interesting things happen. First my niece was staying over night and had a bad nightmare and as she sat up in her bed awakened by the dream the rolly up shade in the bed room window snapped open with a loud thumping as it rolled around on the roller the next day my sister was baby sitting her three grand kids all boys on 5 and a pair of twin babies. She was sitting on the sofa with the three children facing her the babies in carriers and the older boy in a small chair when out of the corner of her eye she saw something coming at her in the air. A baby toy passed her head and landed on the floor they were the only ones in the house. So who threw the toy? My sister has noted like shadows moving in the house at times seen out of the corner of her eye as distinct movement. Directly staring at the shadows there is nothing there. At times in my life I also have noted the shadow movements. Was a playful grey the one who threw the toy or was it one of the boys developing new abilities
