I agree. What's sad is that there are probably some people who will still fall for it. Probably not anybody in the UFO community but some mainstream "journalists" probably will. The new hoax section is ready now.

Interesting Jo how this is tied with the National Geographic special. I did not see that relationship, thanks! It may not be deliberately arranged for both to coincide directly, but I can see how a media mogul might exploit this for more ratings. Orson Wells inadvertently stumbled onto this on his Halloween radio broadcast in 1938. I wonder if some powerful media groups have their own dirty tricks departments for this. A form of self inflicted propaganda?
Related now to that one point in the UFO case, only one of the non sisters lied (on that one point we know of anyway), at the expense of the other non sister primarily. The other woman was the one who explained what was happening to me at that point. The other woman (family) who owned the rental property were very intelligent, but lived in a area of the country rather isolated from cities and felt somewhat naive about some things they admitted to me.
This was not my judgment, but theirs. I respectfully disagree with their self assessment, they were far from backward if I may borrow that term. They were well aware of the society only they knew which they had to interact with. If roles were reversed, I would need much time to adjust to theirs. They routinely carried licensed handguns sometimes. Safety from four legged and two legged. Compared to my more suburban environment, who perhaps is the more naive? Just different, each adapted to their world.
That is so true Jo, our morals and values are only our own Earth perspective. One might hope some form of universal values might prevail. Do Gort like robot policemen patrol interplanetary space, acting immediately to threats against peace? It is probably not so simple, as it is not so simple in reality on this planet too. But admittedly, a Gort as portrayed in the 1951 film (the new remake does not exist in my mind) does give you a very nice 'edge' - so perhaps it is really is utterly simple?
Perhaps based on if nothing else - the basic instinct of survival, the propagation of life, and avoiding taking such life..... Darwin's laws of natural selection might be applied in this context too (since we are lacking any other model at present) - competition and adaptation across space may prevail out there too. It may just happen more expansively and slowly?
Once beyond some threshold of development, the more advanced the civilization, the more likely resources and energies are there to focus on many things above and beyond mere survival as a species.
If telepathic communication not only exists, but is the norm among intelligent, technically far more advanced civilizations, this would create a profound effect on their society compared to ours. We are really just one enormous planet of individualists.
Lying between individual aliens with such abilities would be impossible. If lying maybe wrong to us, to them lying might be emotionally aberrant behavior, obvious to all, like someone taking their clothes off and walking down the center painted traffic lane of a city street. Aliens with telepathic abilities would have a completely different social structure.
But can telepathic aliens still deceive? Sure! There would be just more accomplices. ;D To them we (humans) must seem enormously disadvantaged without telepathic communication - clueless, venerable, easy to deceive and manipulate. We know from many abduction reports this seems prevalent.
We have these cumbersome far from perfect principles of evidence & proof we must obey. Aliens do not have these same constructs and constraints. We are probably clueless in a 'street wise' sense in the larger universe of life, which is probably everywhere out there. That is - as soon as astronomical instruments are created to reveal that life - so we as a species can prove to ourselves it exists.
If many UFO abduction accounts are true, we would be quite vulnerable, exposed to outer space.
But I also think aliens are wise not to disturb us too blatantly. Any contact with us seems to conform perhaps to a kind of 'Zoo hypothesis'. Abduction accounts if true would seem to conflict with this hypothesis admittedly. But most abductions in general by some aliens may not be necessarily 'company policy' either. Perhaps even 'illegal'?
Observing and interacting, but not directly influencing at least in some harmful way. If we are vulnerable, aliens may also know if we are to continue to make painful evolutionary progress (like they perhaps did), we must embrace outer space and perhaps our place in it, and not view outer space as a threat if we are to continue to explore and develop in the long run as a human species.

I can well understand that Pauline. The one thing I have had the most trouble with and what sets abduction so far apart from kidnapping is the fact that the mind struggles so to adapt to something there is way of understanding. It is so entirely alien and beyond what we are familar with. It's not like meeting a new person..it is being handled by what my brain termed things. Having those hands touch..those eyes peering..how can anyone possibly describe that..given the terms we have? Nothing is deep enough to make the point. So..we don't let ourselves go there. When I was very young..some helpful teacher told me space was 'endless'. Have you ever thought about 'endless'? How can there be something that goes on for ever if you've only known things that have endings? That one tripped me out for weeks until I couldn't take it and stopped myself from going there..I learned to move around it without peering into it. I'm sure that makes so little sense but it might to someone who has flirted with the paranormal or the creepy little dudes...it might to you Pauline..because your mind recognized the impossible to comprehend and warned you off.. I would share anything I remember with anyone who asks..but don't ask me do describe the 'feeling' of them..I can't. They were not nice...is as close as I come LOL

Re: Bears are close relatives compared to something from another sector of the galaxy. That was the feeling I had when I walked part-way to what we had seen land behind the trees that night in 1967. I was creeped out on a visceral/body level. They were not us and that alarmed my body such that my hair literally stood up (and I know that electromagnet effects can do this as well) but the dogs and cows were barking, mooing and I wanted to bark or moo or show my distress and distrust as well. That's how I felt when I was on the sofa in the living room when I was eight looking at those beings... it's a difficult feeling to describe... but you hit it right on the head with your post. It was... wrong. It wasn't normal. It was something that didn't belong in my living room... Something not of this place... that should not have been here...

Steve - I've been the the ARIRA site (so you don't exactly look like Jeremy Britt playing Sherlock Homes...recalibrating...). I don't understand the radiation map. I see locations but no numbers. Seems like I saw numbers a couple of days ago....maybe the site was being vacuumed or something....

Many of the Geiger Counter monitoring stations (one is shown operating in Arizona at present) seem to be down for the night. It is accomplished through GeigerGraph for Networks software. This system is completely automated. A few days ago dozens were operating. Just checked again this morning, many up and operating now. I wonder why the number of monitoring stations diminish during the night? Solar powered? Steve

Yup, it's true. They are not dangerous or anything though. We are actually being exposed to radiation all the time...flying on a plane, hiking up a mountain, lying out in the sun...but our bodies have evolved to tolerate a certain amount of it.

We did an extensive recorded 'virtual' interview with the first witness already.
Please forgive the 'tease'. Able to share more when this case concludes. On going, we all are wondering where this may go, and how this story may all end.

Repeated here, from another thread. Most people who talk with me about their experiences seem to do so because they feel comfortable with me. I listen carefully, but seem also to keep my feet on the ground too, or so I have been told. Many investigators in this field you will find out in some cases are themselves 'experiencers' too. Not me, best I can tell. I joke with experiencers once we have developed a trust, if they want these strange things to stop - then become a field investigator. ;D Nothing strange ever seems to happen to me best I can tell. I have accumulated a great many stories related to me I am very privileged to write. I am so amazed sometimes. I sit and work hard at work, often go to events, spend time with relatives, and never talk about the interesting things I investigate. Partly is I think for many it makes some around me uncomfortable. A few others - even to becoming faintly upset. (Churchy Republican types). That is fine, there are plenty of other things to talk about too. Some of the fancy guests on Coast to Coast (like Linda Moulton Howe, and others of the same ilk) - frankly their stories really really put me to sleep! I am often amazed, perhaps astounded by the backgrounds of some of the witnesses who relate their accounts, that must remain secret not only for their own privacy in general, but their reputation as engineers, scientists, and that paradigm they live in and enjoy the benefits of their education from. Knowing that if it got out they might be being visited frequently by little gray aliens.... those 'benefits' might fade or disappear in the real world. Ironic how these persons are trapped, their secrets held tightly within their family, in stress and in fear both for themselves, and what it all means seriously for their children and loved ones. They don't know who to go to. They relate, "they are taking on a regular basis my son! And as a loving parent feel helpless and worthless not knowing at all how to stop it!" They can't call 911, they cannot discuss it with their fellow scientific colleagues, not their pastor, priest, or Rabbi, or even their Imam. They need answers, and perhaps also find a way to cope with something on going, sometimes continuing for a number of years. Restore some semblance of 'control'? So I seem to have these two lives. I can't discuss much, other than to some extent here.... and sit around at family get togethers... feeling a bit awkward holding in some fun and extraordinary stuff....sigh. Which is reality, and which is truly the farce? I am not as sure. It also is disturbing to ponder - what if aliens are not farming just genes, but information. Well, of course they are...but I mean specific sensitive information? That information is not related to me thankfully, but I know enough to appreciate what the topics of certain information may mean. Nuclear, aerospace, and cyber warfare. My colleagues at ARIRA were astonished when after I read the witnesses initial report, I told them there is much more here the witness is not sharing (which eventually they did - making that call). From long experience hearing these accounts - such cases which have so many frequent strange recurring events - it is highly unusual for 'them' to not at some point, having already gone to so much trouble already....to not make an appearance too. I made another good 'call' when I told them if the possible experiencer has a engineering/scientific background, to expect they have certain classified aspects to their backgrounds too. A disturbing reoccurring pattern I have noticed. People with extensive scientific and engineering backgrounds confessing being the subject of alien contact and possible abductions. The little grays farming for just genes? ... Or 'information'? Again, who can you report this too? See the trap? Do you tell your superiors who was interested in the information you are entrusted with ...that it had been 'scanned' by little gray men? Unless their exists among humankind somewhere technology of the 32nd century, the phenomenon we are dealing with - as some stupid conspiracy hucksters in denial mistakenly think - little grays aliens are not a cover for psych ops. In such social scenes, I guess the best and safest thing sometimes is to ask - as splendid actor Geoffrey Rush did in 'The Kings Speech' ....awkward in tone in breaking the ice between therapist and client.... (in this case the future King George VI).... "well....you know any jokes then?" Steve

It was also nice to meet you and your husband and have lunch outdoors as we did. Hope that side trip on your vacation was worth it. I know it does not come freely sharing with too many what you shared with me and my wife about your experiences. You were the first person on the Internet I have ever met. This sounds silly in a way, because millions are on the internet...but you know what I mean. Behind every avatar and screen name are human beings with accounts seeking answers. I am glad you are seeking these answers with us. Your contribution will be very helpful to others here.

It was so nice to meet someone who was truly interested in this phenomena as there a few "believers" out there. As you know i was not a "believer" either until I had my own close encounter. I am sorry I was unable to under go hypnosis but the pain was increasing and I did not want to end up on medication again to relieve the aches. If these people are writing a book that doesn't necessarily mean that they are insincere about their experiences. I've thought about writing a book about my own encounters, I just haven't made the decision to do it yet because my experiences are boring compared to what some other people report. If what these people say is happening is really happening than their encounter is a lot more interesting than mine. I suppose it would depend on what their motivation is.

i don't think there is anything wrong with writing a book about one's experiences......and if you're lucky enough to make some money.....GOOD FOR YOU.....
i think the stigma of writing a book about personal abduction experiences is part of a government disinformation program to discredit the abductee.... IMO
.... and because of that i say...."WRITE YOUR STORY, GET IT PUBLISHED, TELL THE WORLD WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU...."
and don't forget to send me a signed copy.... ;D

Why do you think this is the case? Are the abductees drawn to the area due to some unknown calling, or is it that the reason there are so many abductees in the same area is because that is where the abductions are taking place? Random coincidence? Or how about this for a theory...since these alien visitors supposedly communicate telepathically, and since I personally believe one of the reasons people are abducted is to improve their own psychic or telepathic abilities, could the aliens be telepathically sending the abductees a message urging them to congregate in the same location? Or could it be that the abductees are subconsciously sending each other telepathic messages without even knowing it, which ends up drawing them closer to one another? It makes it easier for them. They maybe abducting in bunches. It might be we may have some latent organic telepathic ability in our evolution - but only to receive, not transmit. We might be like a human infant, we respond to sounds, but we cannot speak coherently, just baby talk. Again, we may be able to receive telepathically only when the ability to transmit is near - enter the aliens. The channels for communication remain closed till both directions in communication exists. Yet when we communicate telepathically in the presence of these aliens, which we normally may not have the ability to, it might be being 'amplified' (either implants or passive technology aboard their craft) to facilitate two way communication in those unique settings only. Neat and simple in concept. Whether they can manipulate time to return someone before the abduction began, or follow our normal linear time line (I feel both might be the case based on what is convenient for them) whatever is the case, there are serious logistical issues for these aliens (little guys) in any abduction process. Whether time displacement, or not....the primary concern the aliens must deal with is they always must have the experiencer returned before anyone else not involved nearby has noticed they have disappeared. Within hours or less. Like Cinderella, they must return and all seem normal again before the clock strikes.... not midnight as in the fairy tale, but from abduction accounts....before 03:15 to 05:00 hours when our society generally for the most part begins to stir. Many of us are then in our REM sleep phase then too. But also, they are just as adept at taking and returning (catch and release) in the daytime in the middle of a busy metropolis. That was one important contrasting aspect of the Travis Walton experience. Most abductees are returned within 1.5 to 4 hours. In the Walton case, he was gone for a week. Gone to such an extent Walton's disappearance was not only noticed alarmingly by family and friends, but very importantly by local law officials too. I think the aliens in wishing to work covertly, learned much from that. Keep 'the cops' and proof of disappearance out. Walton also showed signs of hunger and noticeable dehydration. The Walton case may have been given low marks by the aliens themselves for sloppy indiscretion. But whether this is the case or not....these critters seem to learn very fast. That is why aliens around abductees aboard the craft seem to work quickly and efficiently. They are on a tight frantic schedule. Why too sometimes, some experiencers report being taken in one set of night clothes, and returned in others. The answer might be some experiencers are being unbeknownst to them....'herded together'. Steve I have nothing factual to base my ideas but here some thoughts: 1) As Steve pointed out aliens have to work fast. Better to collect the "herd" and get the exams done before moving along to the next bunch. 2) Possible genetic manipulation. If you subscribe to the theory the aliens are here to create new life forms, etc. then grouping possible genetic matches would be another function of grouping select humans together. There have been reports among abductees of meeting someone they knew well but don't recall ever meeting in "real life". There have also been reports of possible alien matchmakers arranging marriages (Betty Lucas for example). 3) If you read the book Morning Glory Diary of an Abductee, Gloria Hawker discusses her experiences that included being abducted with groups of people. See: www.amazon.com/Morning-Glory-Diary-Alien-Abductee/dp/0977312100/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1308861924&sr=1-2There is one thing for certain, the aliens learned from the Travis Walton case. As for me: When I had my 1986 UFO encounter I did not know that approximately two hours later witnesses reported seeing a UFO about 50 miles from my location. Could it be I was abducted sometime around that time? Of interest there is a bit of missing time as the last thing I remember was feeding my daughter her snack, putting her in her crib, then calling my husband around 9 p.m. What happened during that time I do not know. I did not mention this earlier, one of the witnesses in this case has dreams of becoming a screenwriter. She writes all the time. She said she wanted to create a character based on me in the script based on our phone conversations over this case. I said that was fine, I have no control over that. But she hardly even knows me.... maybe that is for the best by all concerned in her creative process. Interesting too this family has never rented or owned a copy of Spielberg's 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' either. As long as we both know when doing interviews they are relating to me facts and impressions, and not their imagination. I imagined myself amusingly fleetingly a cross between François Truffaut as 'Lacome' in Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), and the Lionel Logue character - the Australian speech therapist played by Geoffrey Rush in the 'The kings Speech'. (I know...I will write it for you... 'oh brother!' ). Both characters had this presence and patience I found appealing. People say (that is everyone but my wife) I am very patient....hummmm...and a knack for many details. At least the desire for details is for sure. As far as mass abductions, one of the most striking facts about the validity of whether alien abductions are real or not is that often some experiencers meet people they strangely already seem to know, though they seem to have no conscious recollection of the individual at first. Then they are stunned when they soon realize where they first met..... aboard a craft somewhere.... together among a group having been both abducted. That must be chilling confirmation of something wouldn't you think? The scenes they sometimes describe is disturbing...lines of naked people herded from one space to another...many seen in these strange trances. 'Death camp' images come to my mind...mental images I force best I can to depart just as quickly if I have any say in it. Debunkers absurdly will just scoff and say they had a shared delusion! A shared delusion? A shared delusion ....with a complete stranger? 'Don't bother me with the facts....I have my own very narrow bead on things...." a debunker might say. How stupid. It is disturbing to think abductees are regularly 'taken' with little difficulty, collected and handled as they describe, then returned and it all arranged (but not perfectly) to forget everything that happened..... In human legal terms, this is kidnapping, assault, and perhaps worse. I agree the aliens learned a great deal from what we call the Travis Walton case. For instance, returning the subjects before many close note someone is missing, not for days as in the TW case. It is possible some time shift occurred, and perhaps they learned to seamlessly return the subject at the moment the took them originally. This would suggest both some dimensional and time manipulation. They maybe be capable of this....?? Would not surprise me in the least! Some abduction accounts seem to suggest a linear time line, as some cases and the behavior of the entities show a 'learning curve' on their part. But then again.... Knowing this, it is always with the understanding when I ask someone if they feel they have ever had any sense of having 'missing time' in their lives.... the person sincerely cannot really answer fully. They don't know for sure...just these impressions... like lost memories they can't seem to pinpoint. Missing time? It must be a very annoying, irritating, suggestive question to be sure. At other times, these aliens seem to have such advanced knowledge of our human physiology ... far more advanced than ours.... I knew of one experiencer that was told by her abductors she might be a widow soon. They would not explain further. Weeks later.... she and her husband were in a Costco...he collapsed. His leg gave way beneath him, a fracture. Bone cancer. Betty Hill always remarked the aliens in her encounter had little concept of time as we knew it (linear time). They were puzzled by her use of the word 'old'. Referring to Barney's dentures - that this was a device humans someones needed when the get old... But these aliens also were seemingly just as confused by the color 'yellow' too. She said there was nothing in the room she could point to that was yellow, so she said yellow is often the color of 'squash'. Then.... what was squash? What if abductees herded aboard a craft together at the same time are plucked and returned from many different times? What if the young man next to you aboard the same craft was your father decades earlier? What if these beings know us better than we know ourselves? That might be the most disturbing, and most intrusive fact of all. Steve

Steve .. I once read a book about an abduction case in which the abductee, a woman.. had ask the aliens something about time, I forget now her question to them.. They replied, [We don't use clocks, we have no need of them. your yesterday, today and tomorrow is all the same time to us.] Wow!, I will never forget this one thing about the book, the rest slips my mind. That stood out above all else. It was a case in the 70s but the book I read was in the early 80s. I do not remember the year of publication..

It could of been from the book uninvited guest.. there is so many cases in that book one would never remember them all. Hall has passed but he did so much for so many people. I followed him for years.
