When I was younger, around 5, I had this dog that followed me and slept by my bed at night. I didn't know that noone else could see it. Until one night that my sister woke up and it was at the foot of our bed growling at her. I told it to stop and it did. My mother ran in the room and saw the dog. Next thing I know, she has the bible and is reading frantically passages and she even called our priest. She thought it was the devil. It left me for a long while until later in life when my husband woke in the night and there outside our kitchen was the same dog near the tree.
We lived in the yellow house in a small town when all of my children were under the age of 7. The house was near the hospital but more country than anything. That house was possessed by so many different elements that we finally moved after about 2 years.
Things happened from day one. Cabinets would be opened, you could hear footsteps. There were dark shadows all over the walls and my children were afraid to sleep without the lights, I have to admit so was I. My mother moved in and that is when it really got bad. My mother is a strong Catholic and wanted to be a nun before she was married but my grandmother didnt allow it, so we were forced to become strong Catholics as well.
This is the house where for the first time, my children talked about the little doctors. I happened to be reading Communion when my 5 year old walked in and said that the picture was that of the little doctors that would visit him at night. He explained that he would be awakened and float out through the window up to the roof and see a shiny light then it would be morning. At first I thought he was making up stories though I didnt express this to him. I then asked him, ok son, if you floated on the roof what is up there? He looked at me and said, well my blue frisbree, a football and an old bike tire. In the morning I climbed the roof to confirm what he had said. He was right.
We had this white owl that was around the house as well. I am creeped out by owls. He would come to my window every night. Until the third night when he hooted 3 times and I burst into tears. My husband asked me what was wrong and I told him that my best friend had died. He assured me that she was fine. The next morning I received the call that she had passed away in the night.
I believe that the house was evil because there were too many bad things that happened there and when we moved, I told the owner that she should destroy it and leave the land vacant. They tore down the house but built a doctors office on the property....poor patients.

You also don't mention any "condemnation" from your mother towards you, about the dog ;D. Its not like you summoned it or anything . I think, sometimes things just attach themselves to us, or to a piece of land, or a house. . . thank you for sharing this

Second hand stores are the best place to see if you can sense things. ;D

Strange . I grew up in a haunted house and it was yellow. My parents lived in it for forty years.. when they left it in 78.. it was still yellow. But the future owners caught it on fire and it burned to the ground only months later. See this story under my experiences.
There was not any dog ghost, but all kinds of thing happen in this yellow house. Even before my parents moved in in 1943, when I was born. Me and a new home at the same time. The home before this one had no problems with the paranormal. I guess I came along just in time.
Jarman 71.. I hate owls also. I also think I remember you on the mufon forum. Were you there also? I'm shamira over there once.. . real name Lois.
your name is so familiar. Especially the 71..The person I'm thinking of left for awhile and when she came back she told she had lost her husband. You meet so many on these forums but this lady I remember well.
thanks for your post. I trust this is all in the past and not similar events today.

Wow Lois... on my road there was the place we always called the "Yellow House" ever since I was a kid... the owners even had a little yellow dog house and a little yellow green house in their yard... THAT house caught on fire the winter before last... they had to rebuild it. It's smaller now and has gray aluminum siding on it... We don't really socialize with our neighbors that much... so we don't know the people who live there...

Wow! Three yellow houses and they are all haunted. That's kind of cool. Maybe i should paint my house yellow. ;D I liked that story about the dog that followed you around when you were little, Jarmen. Lots of kids have imaginary friends or pets but who says they are all imaginary? Maybe some of them are ghosts and are really there.

To keep a memory of just one you may need their old post. But three forums I have been on before this one. Has no past post to go back and use reverence to. I try and remember everyones's main encounter story. I'm sure no one here needs a reverence to mine. ;D ;D Told and retold. ;D But there is always new members looking for people just like them with the same experiences. A little girl burned up in our yellow house back around 1900. The top story was destroyed. Then they rebuilt around it. I do know the hallway on the second floor was bent by the heat. You could tell when you walked down it. ;D Her ghost was seen by two of my brothers but I never seen here once. I hated our home yellow. It stuck out like a sore thumb. ;D When I took friends there as a child . they laughed about how yellow it was.

Sky .. my parents owned this house most of their married life. And it did burn down for the last time right after my Parents sold it. I figured the new owners was not liked much by them being there. They said it was caused be faulty wiring.
The lot is vacant today. Only thing left is a huge tree my sister planted when I was eight years old in the front yard. It has gotten so big. It is sad sometimes to look at it. Time marches on. who made that quote anyway? I do not like it much.
Where do ghost go when there dwellings does not exist any longer? They have been know to follow people to the next home. My Mother passed three months after they left this place from a heart attach. Dad did not stay in the new home after she passed. but got him an apt. As far as I know nothing such as ghost were in his apt.
He never seen them to begin with. They lived upstairs and his bedroom was downstairs. I wish I could remember one experience my Mom had when they were asleep on night. I have forgotten it. But is was really scary as I remember now.

Maybe the ghosts are still hanging out there in the vacant lot waiting for a new house to be built so they can haunt it too. Have you ever tried your metal detector there? Might be some haunted coins under the ground.

Maybe the ghosts are still hanging out there in the vacant lot waiting for a new house to be built so they can haunt it too. Have you ever tried your metal detector there? Might be some haunted coins under the ground. Sky, I did metal detect it. Not much was found. I went home with my own room's glass cut doorknob. Our dog's dog tags from 1951 She.. Patricia lived to be 23 years old. She followed me home from first grade bouncing in the snow after me . The snow was so deep she went under as a little puppy. I told my brother you come home from junior high right after school lets out, if I see this little red dog again, I will hide him in the garage. I called everything a him at five.. ;D The next day I came down the school steps and started down the street, Right in front of me their she was again. Why did she follow me three times from school out of all the entire classmates leaving? I say it was destiny .. I put her in the garage, you see I only lived a block and a half from the school. When my older brother came in the house, I grabbed him and said I got her in the garage. We went out and he put her under his winter coat. Carried her into the kitchen and the sidedoor in the kitchen lead upstairs. The living room also went upstairs from another door . We knew everyone was in the living room . He took food from the kitchen at ten o clock. There was 11 kids so I slept on an unfolding couch with my baby brother on the first floor in the living room . I seen him sneaking the food ;D We keep it a secret for three days and someone discovered her. We later found out the puppy belonged to a man down the street. He said I got five of them in this litter.. keep her if you want. Boy Mom and Dad finally said ok you can have her but keep her quiet at night. After six litters of pups and every winter going hunting with my older two brothers for about 12 years we thought she would not last too much longer but she lived on and I got married and I had four kids before they put her to sleep. She was blind and getting crippled. That dog was a member of our family as though she was human. My brother the baby in the family, the one who took the picture of a ufo in Miller Park, the one who painted... got cancer and passed two years ago. A few days before he passed he told me I will see Mom and Dad very soon. One wish is to see old Patricia again. Now that made me cry. If dogs go to heaven, I know this dog would be there. So old dogtags people ask me why I keep them. That may of been a small find but it was one great one to me. People were always trying to shoot her.. They really thought she was a fox. ;D Got hit by a car once and wound up with one broken leg. And did she ever hate that cast. Chewed at it all night long and the hard cast would hit the floor bumping all night long. Every one was so happy when that darn thing came off. The vet said she was Pomerania and half Spit. Her tail was a arched over her back like a Pomerania and she was red but the spit made her body size a little larger. Not too much though. She was still a medium small I would say.. I also found a Indian head penny along the four steps you went down to step onto the city sidewalk. That was it. No .. no long story about the penny ;D ;D I had tons of them..

A photo of Pat , that is what we called Patricia, is in one of my facebook albums. It was a family photo at Christmas. . I remember how we search for her to put her in this photo. Some said oh let her be. No most of us replied, Pat belongs in it too with us.

That's a cute story, Shami. The little doggie that followed you home must have known you were a sweety. I'm glad you found Pat's dog tags. If you find the picture of her I'll put it on the furry friends thread.

I can't believe I missed reading that story Lois- nice!! ;D I say it was destiny too. The dog probably sensed you were a gentle soul and that's why she wanted to follow you instead of the other kids.

Ghosts are sometimes said to be attracted to places as well as houses or objects. Perhaps the spirits waited for the new building to go up and haunted it too.
