International Director David MacDonald’s column, July issue, MUFON Journal:
(At this year’s Symposium) “It is our intent to release not one but two MAJOR announcements which will resonate throughout the UFO community for years to come. One of these pronouncements is so sensitive that MUFON management asked that it not be released until proper security protocols were in place to protect the safety of the material and the people in whose possession it resides. Those protocols are now being undertaken and will be complete in time for the Symposium.”Symposium Agenda Item for 4:30—6:30pm, Sunday, August 5: “National Release of “Blockbuster” UFO discovery”. Hi all! Indeed Swampy! Thanks for posting this mate! Wonder what it could be? If it requires such security protocols in order to announce it then what springs to my mind is why announce now that there'll be another announcement in due course? Surely this prior announcement can only alert those who wish whatever it is to not be said so then jeopardises what is to be announced? Maybe a little fishy to my mind, but I will as ever keep it open (whatever there is of it ;D ;D !) and see what transpires! TTFN! Take care, seek peace and SMILE! Charles

I've been hearing rumors about this big, huge earth shattering announcement for several months now. Have no idea what it is though. After all of the buildup it better be something good or there will be a lot of disappointed Mufonians running around..

It's ironic that I'm writing a message to The Edge of Reality, the name of my NBC Radio talk show in the 1980s. That said, I just want to comment on this upcoming MUFON announcement that's supposed to resonate throughout the UFO community. These days, it almost seems like the only thing that will truly capture everyone's attention in this field would be the presentation of an alien being (or pieces of one) or a craft from another world (or pieces of one). We're all so tired of promised, exciting discoveries that it's time real evidence was offered to the world so that global paradigms can actually shift into new realms that are important to everyone on the planet. I hope this promised discovery is really earthshaking and not something where someone claims to have found the real 1953 UFO crash sites of Kingman, Arizona. That would not be blockbuster news of any degree, would certainly disappoint a lot of people, as well as produce tons of criticism from skeptics, believers and writers. A blockbuster discovery should be just that -- please deliver one.

Thank you for taking time to post on our little forum Mr. Speigel. We greatly appreciate your input my dear. I also hope it is something big- however I have this sinking feeling that it will not be as big as the hype which MUFON has built up about it...

Welcome Mr. Speigel : You're right in that the only thing that would 'rock' the collective worlds of ufologists..would be some kind of definite physical proof. I can't see that being kept a secret long enough to make it to this great promised event. I hope I'm wrong and that it truly is something amazing and worth the hype!

I'm still thinking that it may have something to do with Thomas Reed. Even if it is physical evidence from his case, I'm expecting more physical evidence from other cases as well. IMO, a major announcement, whatever it is, is not going to make E.T. show himself to anyone that they don't want to. Believe me, once they've learned that they can pretty much come and go at ease, what would make them want to change? Thank You for coming by, Lee Speigel

Thank you all for welcoming me. Sometimes I just want to shake some sense into people. My current story...http://huff.to/NhonTB... on Huffington Post is about ex-CIA agent Chase Brandon who's taking a licking in the Comments section below my story. People would rather believe that he's only out to sell a book, rather than believe that he probably really struggles with a lot of things he's seen in his service to the CIA, and can't reveal specific details. So he, at least, offers his personal opinion, but it doesn't satisfy readers who are impatient and who don't really understand what this UFO issue is about. It's easy for them to sit at their computers, having never gone into the field, so to speak, and done their own personal investigations of UFOs. Without doing any legwork of their own, they think it's OK to tear other people apart who are trying (on different levels) to get some truth out there. It just ain't fair, and it sometimes makes me want to take what I know based on my personal legwork and just hightail it out of the UFO world altogether. Certainly the "visitors" wouldn't mind -- they have their own agenda, anyway. Lee S.

Welcome to TEOR Mr. Speigel ! I read that article today and respect Mr. Brandon's decision to not further disclose the contents, that was hoannable of him Imo. I do not doubt for a second that he is being truthful .
'If' solid indisputable evidence is ever presented I cannot help but wonder how the world will react after disclosure. There are many of us who already know .

You sound depressed Mr. Spiegel... Don't get discouraged! Americans tend to be impatient and we tend to desire instant gratification- especially in this day and age when the entire world is accessible in mere seconds with just a few keystrokes... There are so many hoaxers out there as I am sure you are well aware- and there are also so many people who try to capitalize on media attention by telling of fictitious adventures they had with their space brothers. There are also many government types who try to fill the media with disinformation to make experiencers like myself look like lunatics (although some days I think I am perfectly capable of accomplishing that on my own... ) Most of us here are experiencers and we are all looking for answers. It seems nobody really has the answers we are searching for though and it is very difficult to filter the lies from the truth... It can also be extremely frustrating for us so believe me, we know how you feel. We are painfully aware of the constant nit-picking and ridicule of experiencers, contactees and abductees... Normally I would offer you one of my infamous ~hugz~ as I do so often on here but I don't feel that would be prudent since you are somewhat of a celebrity... A firm handshake methinks would be more... appropriate?

We come here because it's a bit of a comfort zone. Only an idiot wouldn't be questioning and how in the devil can we ever find answers if we're constantly shot down for the input 'we' bring to the table. Too many people don't want to know that the world they see and live in..is a bit more complicated. It's frustrating.

~lorelei~, your message is most appreciated, and for what it's worth, celebrity status or not, I'll take a hug any day over a handshake...who wouldn't? Lee S.

I think you may be on to something there, Jc. That would help explain why he deleted all of the posts he had made here at the same time he signed up to be a speaker at the MUFON thing. Apparently they think they have something really earth shattering and they want to keep it a surprise until the symposium. If that's the case I'm afraid people are going to be very disappointed because I don't remember any irrefutable evidence being put forward in the Reed case. It's going to take more than some extraordinary claims by an abductee too get people's attention...especially after all of the supposedly extraordinary claims that have already been made in the past. If they are going to make a big deal out of an announcement like this they need to have some seriously spectacular hard and provable evidence.

I just noticed in the announcement that they said they have sensitive material in somebody's posession. I assume that means there actually is some type of physical evidence. I hope it's better than that aluminum foil they found at Roswell.

I am willing to bet they have been subverted and will announce that there are no aliens or UFOs period and they are closing up shop. It is logical since they snuffed the forum. Things got too close and its quit or else a lonely hole in the desert for those to stubborn to take the hint

to take the hint? That means that they'd also have to work overtime to convince the world that anyone that has seen any thing needs their head examined.

I'd like to see the foil from Rosewell. I'd like to see ANYTHING tangible. Im on the other end of the spectrum this time,,,,I don't want to see anything, anymore . Yet out of mere curiousity I keep looking for more . I'm almost certain that's what got me into this mess to begin with.

It seems we keep going around and around in circles... and we ever get any conclusive answers... ...but I love you guys here. And it's good to have a place where we can talk about these things... like the flattened grass in front of my house and the triangle shaped UFO Lois filmed a couple days ago... ~hugggz~

I love you all too and I completely agree. If I didn't have y'all to talk to about this stuff ,,,,,,,,,,. It seems I too am going in circles these days trying to figure all this out. Aren't we all ? Part of me wants to see the rest of the world get the proof and the other part of me already knows. Question is : Can the rest of the world handle the truth ? I consider myself a sane person ( mostly ;D) who has been through alot and this phenomena has about taken me over the edge at times trying to decipher the meaning/agenda. I cannot help but wonder how the rest of the world will react when/if they find out the truth. Hopefully it doesn't turn into a 'war of the worlds' scenario. History has been known to repeat itself.
