Hi all, In the 1930's in Australia my grandparents had a small property in Western Australia, my grandfather was a permanent army man and would be away for long periods. My grandma was brilliant with dogs & they were always trained well & loved. Her beloved "Tippy" was run over by tractor and she was devastated. Grandpa often went with his unit out to a small island off the coast of Perth while gran looked after the farm and all the animals, which were many. 5 years after "Tippy" passed grandpa on this island in his tent when he was awoken, he saw the dog at the entrance to his tent and being half asleep said.."What's the matter boy?" then realized who it was and knew without doubt that my gran was in trouble. When he finally got to the farm, sure enough, gran was very sick and close to death and all the animals were very hungry. Nan survived but would not have of course without her loyal boy who from the grave saved her. I have always been an animal tragic, especially dogs and i know the love and loyalty they give unconditionally but i think "Tippy" was an exceptional pooch.

That's a lovely story. If one believes in souls and maybe in reincarnation, then Tippy might no longer have been "only a dog" but serving more as protector spirit. That is a strong part of the story - but so is the fact that the grandfather actually understood the meaning of the visit and did what he had to do.
I felt that our old German Shepard Pisces lingered with the family that he had protected for so long for about 6 weeks. I'd hear his nails clicking on the lino in the kitchen. He of course, still slept on the couch which we had unsuccessfully attempted to keep him from doing in his life.

Kiosoo.
Thank you for posting. Yes I believe your beloved animals are near after they pass. Our dog Patricia which we called Pat has never showed herself to any of us. That I know of. There was 11 children in my family so I could be wrong. My brother believed this also. As when he passed from Cancer two years ago, one of the last things he said.I will be seeing Patricia soon. His thoughts of her comforted him in his last days. She may of send him those thoughts. Angels are true messengers from God.
