www.openminds.tv/smithsonian-discover-alien-skulls-antarctica/26755 Did the Smithsonian discover ALIEN skulls in Antarctica?Posted by: Jason McClellan April 2, 2014 An archaeologist and his team reportedly discovered three elongated skulls in Antarctica. American Live Wire, a self-described “entertaining news & information” website, americanlivewire.com/2014-04-02-elongated-skulls-uncovered-antarctica/ published a story on April 2 claiming that Smithsonian archaeologist Damian Waters and his team uncovered three elongated skulls in La Paille, Antarctica. The article claims that this monumental discovery shocked scientists because the skulls are the first evidence of ancient humans in Antarctica. The photo of elongated skulls included in both articles. (Credit: Marcin Tlustochowicz/Wikimedia Commons) The article acknowledges that the practice of skull deformation was common among many ancient cultures. But the article then goes on to assert, These elongated skulls are much, much larger than normal human skulls would be. Purposeful cranial deformation can change the shape of a skull, but it cannot increase the volume of the skull. In addition, these skulls have quite a few other important physical characteristics that greatly set them apart from normal human skulls. The article concludes by positing, “Now the thing on everyone’s mind is, are these skulls alien? Are they extra-terrestrial?” CONTINUE READING: www.openminds.tv/smithsonian-discover-alien-skulls-antarctica/26755

www.ancient-origins.net/unexplained-phenomena/story-elongated-skulls-and-denied-history-ancient-people-02014319 December, 2014 The Story Of Elongated Skulls And The Denied History Of Ancient People: An Interview With Mark LaplumeElongated skulls in a museum in Romania Mark Laplume is an artist and independent researcher who has been engaged in making reconstruction drawings of ancient people with elongated skulls. I have already had the pleasure of showcasing his remarkable work in a gallery on fetuses and children with elongated heads, and in a post on the visualization of ancient populations. Mark’s reconstructions were also illustrated in an article on suppressed evidence challenging the Artificial Cranial Deformation paradigm as the only way of explaining elongated skulls. Mark now shares some of his insights into the mystery of elongated skulls with the readers of Ancient Origins. IG: Mark, how did you become interested in elongated skulls and why did you decide to start reconstructing the appearance of these people? In 2006, when I first downloaded Google Earth, I looked around at places I knew and then made a bee line to the south end of Lake Titicaca. I was blown away by what I saw. The ruins of something vast covered every hilltop for miles in all directions. I knew something incredible had gone on there, but put it out of my mind after finding no interest by anyone I tried to share it with. About six years later, I saw one of Brien Foerster’s posts showing elongated skulls. I was lucky enough to reach him and talk a little bit about what I was looking at. Looking at the images of the skulls made me curious as to who these people were and how they looked. There were almost no interpretations of their appearance and almost nothing about their history. My momentary sense of inclusion made me wonder what I could do to help him to advance our understanding of these people. Although I had not picked up a pencil in 14 years, I felt sure I could draw them to recreate their faces, to see what they looked like. I'd quit art school, but continued to pursue art in various ways for 18 years, culminating in working on large sculptural projects in the mid-nineties, at which point I stopped drawing and making art. Meanwhile, back to the skulls, I started doing online and archival research, collecting the images of elongated skulls, and drawing. To date, I have done over 5,000 drawings and collected more than 18,000 photos of skulls, mummies and related artifacts. While working with this incredible data and making drawings, the lack of understanding, history and myth of what these people were and how they looked did not lend a sense of legitimacy to the attempt. There were so many unanswered questions I wondered if perhaps this is why so few people could involve themselves with this kind of project. It’s like a wall so big, you don’t notice it or don’t want to admit it is there. www.ancient-origins.net/unexplained-phenomena/elongated-skulls-utero-farewell-artificial-cranial-deformation-paradigm-002526 Elongated Skulls in utero: A Farewell to the Artificial Cranial Deformation Paradigm?3 January, 2015 by Igor Gontcharov Elongated skulls are usually explained in terms of head-binding or artificial cranial deformation. This paradigm emerged in the first half of the 19th century as a way of explaining unusual skulls discovered in Europe and South America, in places such as Crimea and Peru respectively. The main idea behind the head-binding paradigm is that ALL elongated skulls are a result of intentional modification of the form of the skull by applying external pressure. In other words, ALL elongated skulls are merely deformed ‘normal’ skulls similar to those of modern humans. Elongated Skull from Crimea and other parts of the worlds, Baer 1860 What evidence could challenge this paradigm? Right – the existence of fetuses with elongated skulls, i.e. evidence that such skulls already had an elongated shape in utero, before any head-binding was possible. Do we have such evidence? Yes, we do! Moreover, this evidence has been known to the academic community for over 163 years! Rivero and Tschudi in Peruvian Antiquities (1851 Spanish, 1853 English) argue that the protagonists of the artificial cranial deformation hypothesis are mistaken, since they had only considered the skulls of adults. In other words, the hypothesis fails to take into account the skulls of infants and, most importantly, foetuses which had similar elongated skull shape. It is worth quoting Rivero and Tschudi: “We ourselves have observed the same fact [of the absence of signs of artificial pressure – IG] in many mummies of children of tender age, who, although they had cloths about them, were yet without any vestige or appearance of pressure of the cranium. More still: the same formation of the head presents itself in children yet unborn; and of this truth we have had convincing proof in the sight of a foetus, enclosed in the womb of a mummy of a pregnant woman, which we found in a cave of Huichay, two leagues from Tarma, and which is, at this moment, in our collection [my emphasis – IG]. www.ancient-code.com/elongated-skulls-traces-of-an-unknown-species/ Elongated skulls; Traces of an unknown speciesIvan Petricevic / www.ancient-code.com/author/ivanpetricevic/April 29, 2015 In 1928 researchers found on the southern coast of Peru a cemetery that held the remains of 300 individuals with elongated skulls. The discovery was led by Peruvian archaeologist Julio Tello, and it is believed that the skulls may date from about 3,000 years ago. These are known today as the “Paracas skulls”. Foerster has conducted thorough DNA analysis of these skulls he has provided new information on the issue. Intentional deformation? Yes perhaps, you are right, but there is more! Researchers determined that most of the skull are elongated as a result of intentional deformation. A constant force was applied to the cranium for a long time which caused them to assimilate an elongated skull. Strangely, the volume and weight of the skeletons is anything but normal. According to researchers, the cranial volume of the “Paracas Skulls” is up to 25% larger and 60% heavier than conventional human skulls. And there is more to the mysterious skulls. The human skull is composed of two parietal bones located between the frontal and occipital, forming the sides of the calvaria. The calvaria or also called skullcap, is made up of the superior portions of the frontal bone, occipital bone, and parietal bones. The “Paracas Skulls” only have one! These differences show us that cranial deformation is unintentional, and makes the “Paracas Skulls” a highly debatable subject among researchers who according to their theories, have solid arguments that sustain their point of views. Yet, even though there are so many explanations regarding the elongated skulls, the “Paracas skulls” remain a mystery among scientists. Further analysis provided interesting information. The analysis conducted by Brien Foerster on mitochondrial DNA yielded surprising results. It turns out that the “Paracas Skulls” have unknown mutations not characteristically for any human being or any known animal to date. “Whatever the sample labeled 3A has come from – it had mtDNA with mutations unknown in any human, primate or animal known so far. The data are very sketchy though and a LOT of sequencing still needs to be done to recover the complete mtDNA sequence. But a few fragments I was able to sequence from this sample 3A indicate that if these mutations will hold we are dealing with a new human-like creature, very distant from Homo sapiens, Neanderthals and Denisovans.. I am not sure it will even fit into the known evolutionary tree. The question is if they were so different, they could not interbreed with humans. Breeding within their small population, they may have degenerated due to inbreeding. That would explain buried children – they were either low or not viable.” -Brien Foerster CONTINUE READING: www.ancient-code.com/elongated-skulls-traces-of-an-unknown-species/
Interview with Brien Foerster -- Unravelling the Genetics of Elongated SkullsPublished on Feb 7, 2014 In this revealing interview, Brien Foerster sheds lights on DNA testing undertaken on one of the Paracas elongated skulls. More than 300 of these elongated skulls have already been found and physical features suggest that the skulls were not the result of head binding or head flattening practices. Brien Foerster reveals new details about the recent genetic testing carried out on one of the Paracas skulls and what exactly the DNA analysis showed. He also shares his own theory about the findings and discusses what will happen now that this initial result has been announced. Our website: www.Ancient-Origins.net

Auntie.. please put this wherever it belongs..I wasn't sure which category What I like about this article is that they included the opinion of the archaeologists..what tribe she might have been from and that they did bind heads. True enough that the idea of binding heads IS alien to modern man. I love the ancient history..and the ways people might have lived. I understand people wanting to believe that space brothers were here etc..but I'm not sure why..isn't our own history glamorous enough? We DO have this constant reaching out like we've been out there before and long to go home...or have a visit from home. Shrug..anyway..cool article. news.yahoo.com/skeleton-with-alien-skull-discovered-in-russia-132815218.html

Here is an article about a skeleton with an elongated skull that had an unborn fetus still in the womb which also had an elongated skull. That is more evidence that some of these elongated skulls were definitely genetic in nature rather than due to the practice of skull-binding. It's also interesting that these skulls belonged to people who lived in the same vicinity and time period as the people who created the Nazca lines. Very interesting. lamarzulli.wordpress.com/2015/01/05/the-huayqui-skeleton-new-dna-evidence/

from what i've been reading, some of the skulls are believed to be alien...
the ones that aren't, were bound by natives who were trying to copy & honor the gods who visited them from the sky...
i also think the elongated skulls are interesting...and i believe they are alien...

www.ancient-code.com/the-rhodope-skull-the-mysterious-cranium-of-a-real-life-alien/ The Rhodope Skull: The mysterious cranium of a real-life Alien?by Ancient Code 13/01/2016 "The mysterious ‘alien’ cranium was discovered in the mountains of Bulgaria by a 38-year old resident of Plovdiv. Until today, no one has been able to offer conclusive details about what the mysterious skull is. Fact or fiction? As always you decide." When you want to prove that Aliens exist on Earth… what would be the first thing you would ask for? In our views, it’s physical evidence. Without physical evidence saying that aliens exist is just a wild theory actually, but what if we had physical evidence? I guess at that moment we would probably remain skeptical and say, Nah… it’s impossible, it must be something else. In the last couple of decades, people all around the world have found mysterious skeletons which do not resemble any known species on planet Earth, therefore, these skulls are considered by many as ‘Alien’, unlike anything anthropologists and other researchers are familiar with. This is the case of the mysterious Rhodope skull, a fascinating piece unlike any skull ever seen before on Earth. The Rhodope skull was discovered in the Rhodope mountains located in Bulgaria by a 38-year-old resident of Plovdiv. The finder of the skull, who preferred to remain anonymous, discovered the mysterious skull alongside a mysterious metallic object. Dimiter Kovachev, the Director of the Paleontology Museum in Asenovgrad, is positive that the discovery is no fossil and has no analogy” or resemblance to any hominid skull known to science. The anomalous skull weighs only 250 grams, it has six mysterious cavities which according to UFO enthusiasts, could belong the creatures ‘sensory organs’. According to the skull formation, the creature to which the skull belonged could have had up to six eyes, or another set of ‘unknown organs’. The most mysterious feature of the Rhodope Skull is that it lacks a mouth. “Anthropologist Prof. Yordan Yordanov believes that the skull doesn’t look like any human cranium known to science for the past 30 million years.” Skeptics, on the other hand, believe that the Rhodope skull is just (another) elaborated hoax, or that it might have belonged to a species that remains unidentified. Bizarre, Long-Headed Woman from Ancient Kingdom RevealedBy Tia Ghose, Senior Writer June 21, 2016
The grave of a woman with a bizarre, long-headed skull has been unearthed in Korea.
The woman was part of the ancient Silla culture, which ruled much of the Korean peninsula for nearly a millennium.
Unlike some of the deformed, pointy skulls that have been found throughout the world in other ancient graves, however, it is unlikely that this woman had her head deliberately flattened, the researchers said.
Ancient culture The ancient Silla Kingdom reigned over part of the Korean Peninsula from 57 B.C. to A.D. 935, making it one of the longest-ruling royal dynasties. Many of Korea's modern-day cultural practices stem from this historic culture. Yet despite its long reign and wide-ranging influence on culture, the number of Silla burials with intact skeletons remained few and far between, said study co-author Dong Hoon Shin, a bioanthropologist at Seoul National University College of Medicine in the Republic of Korea.
"The skeletons are not preserved well in the soil of Korea," Shin told Live Science in an email.
However, in 2013, researchers had a lucky break while excavating a grave near Gyeongju, the historic capital of the Silla Kingdom. Inside a traditional burial coffin, called a "mokgwakmyo," lay the nearly perfectly intact bones of a woman who died in her late 30s.
Long head The team managed to extract the woman's mitochondrial DNA, or DNA that is passed from mother to daughter. The analysis revealed that she belonged to a genetic lineage that is present, though not common, in East Asia today. Analysis of the carbon isotopes (versions of carbon with different weights) in the skeleton also revealed that the woman was likely a strict vegetarian, in keeping with the interpretation of Buddhism that was prevalent at the time in the country. She also ate a greater percentage of her calories from foods such as rice and potatoes, versus millet or maize, the researchers reported June 1 in the journal PLOS ONE.
The team was also able to reconstruct her facial features and head shape based on skull fragments. It turned out that the woman was dolichocephalic, meaning her head width was less than about 75 percent of its length.
That differs somewhat from the trends in the region today, where people are more commonly brachycephalic, meaning their head width is at least 80 percent of the head length.
One possibility is that the head was deliberately deformed to have this elongated shape. Skull deformation has occurred throughout the world, and in fact, archaeologists have unearthed evidence of skull deformation from the neighboring Gaya Kingdom, said study co-author Eun Jin Woo, a physical anthropologist at Seoul National University in the Republic of Korea.
However, the team ultimately ruled out this explanation because heads that are deliberately deformed usually have flatter bones in the front of the skull. To compensate for all of the pressure that head deformation causes, the bones in the side of the skull tend to grow more, Woo said.
"The skull in this study did not show the shape changes in deformed crania," Woo told Live Science in an email. "In this regard, we think her head should be considered as normal variation in the group."

Back in the old days (which is like...before the new days) the average life span was only about 30 so for way back then she lived a full life.
