www.unexplainable.net/Ghost-Paranormal/What-Should-I-Ask-in-an-EVP-Session.shtml What Should I Ask in an EVP Session?By Chris Capps 2/4/11 It's inevitable. A paranormal investigator finally reaches the end of their long journey. After a few trips down the abandoned hallways of a long deserted and reportedly haunted building you set down your gear and break out the tape recorder. Holding out the recorder you hope to catch some EVP, so you ask the most obvious question, "If there are any entities here, I'd like to ask you a few questions." You fumble for the play button and play back a voice that unmistakably says, "Go on..." But what do you ask next? Be sure to keep these in mind next time you set out to record EVP. First, remember that even if they're not going anywhere, ghosts don't seem to like to waste their time. Investigators have reported that often entities will simply pack up and leave in the middle of a session if you ask them questions they're not interested in answering. If you're the 500th investigator at a famous haunted house, and you ask the inevitable question "How did you die?" The sound you hear playing back just might be the entity sighing and rolling its eyes as it drifts away in an attempt to scare up the tv remote. In addition, asking a few expertly decided questions will be a way to help impress your fellow investigators to show you're not just another investigator. You're someone trying to put the psychology back into parapsychology. TO CONTINUE READING CLICK ON ABOVE LINK

I think the basic rules of engagement (with live people) work just as well here. Ask them if there is something they want to tell you or someone that you might be able to find. I think that the links don't last long under the best of circumstances so time is of essence.
Ask them if they can indicate an object or identify themselves in some way. This is the same guestion we ask first as in, Hi, I'm _________ . Who are you?
And the next one: What do you do? Or did - but I'm not sure ghosts always know that they are dead.
What can I do for you? (Is there something you need, someone to call...)
And finally - Thank you for communicating with us. (Even if you scared the sh..t out of the homeowners). We wish you well, godspeed, whatever.
I just had a thought. Has anyone come up with a simple prayer to use when talking to lost or derailed spirits. The child's prayer might work (Now I lay me down...)
Actually I always thought the child's prayer was creepy - to be reminded EVERY NIGHT that one might die before one wakes again. And they think TV scares kids.
And what about for atheistic or non Christian spirit? I wish you peace and energy of the universe on your journey to the light? (I just made that up)

Paulette, I can remember how those words scared me as a child very well. I have seen it written to day and it is phased differently for children .. I thought to myself .. someone had the right idea. Or sense it to be harmful for a child.
A prayer is a good answer here..

My Great GrandMother could always tell the good spirits from the bad ones, according to my own Mother. She gave me examples of different times she seen her do so.. One she told one to get behind her Satan.. Mom said vanished in one second. They were bringing water from a well, my Mother was a child walking beside her and the full moon cast their shadows on the ground out ahead of them.. their appeared a third shadow next to my Mother. Mom said she did not see it, till her Grandmother started speaking to it or what ever it was. You see when you communicate with spirits you get the bad ones also..
I do not understand why or how she wanted to try to bring them to her.. I always wondered what went on in her head to do so..
It all started when she played her organ, it draw them to her.. why?.. Does music have this effect on Ghost??

If the entities are post human then they are neither good nor bad. I think a lot of what we perceive out of the corner of our eye (or mind) is neither good nor bad. Some might be dangerous to us. We are so entitled in our beliefs that we are better than the bear that might try to eat us or an entire ecosystem that is in the way of a resort or golf course....Big surprise, in the Universe I think we are not even in competition with those who have been and are and will be after we have partied our planet to extinction.
