I cannot believe what I read on the Internet just speculate on it. My son lives smack dap on top of the New Madrid fault line. He says they have sent into this area 50,000 troops for a quake which has not taken place. To help survivors of a big one. He could not believe this what they are there for. He started searching on the net. He comes up with the stupidest ideas. They are not his but what he reads.
He found somewhere, the government knows a quake will hit as they are going to make it happen themselves . To downsize, I laughed at him. He tells me science has a way to start such a catastrophe.. You do know about the groans in the earth right now don't you?
I said you think too much. I said if this be the case all you kids should LEAVE there!!! Now many of my grandkids are so worried. My one granddaughter who never puts stuff like this on her FB wall had a article about the earth groaning. She is into school and friends. I was surprised to see it there.
I was interrupted yesterday and never listen to it. The whole world is running to and fro, just like the Bible said it would be.. but the end is not yet. So no fearing now.

What is more interesting besides the MRE purchases is that dept of home land security has ordered 450 million rounds of ammo in 9mm and 223. 22 cal would be adequate for target practice. That is enough ammo to shoot everyone in North America. What war do they intend to fight? Since we already have the military, national guard and police forces what is it that they need war fighting capability for? Where is the army that will shoot the ammo? one question leads to another.

Obama and clinton full support a global small arms treaty being created by the UN. the details of the treaty are secret. My concern over this is that some fool in DC will try to pick up the firearms owned by every good old boy from Oregon to Mississippi. that will not fly and will create an instant civil war basicly. It would be a very dumb thing to do for no real reason. I shudder to think of it. It could be the reason for the ammo purchase. I went to a gun show in Houston and I agree with Skywalker above. they had towed AA guns for sale. no tanks though

I know for a fact that when they did the practice run for the new madrid quake in my area they put in an order not just for mri's, but for body bags and plastic coffins, a large quantity of water, blankets, etc. their est. total of survival for the area of 4 states was 70,000 ppl . ! I did the math and that's only about a third of how many ppl populate these 4 states together. I also know for a fact that much of those goods purchased before the practice emergency preparedness test were took by semis and stored in the back side of one of our local caves that is used for tourists. It was seen by many locals going on and was even on a web site I visited too, but can't remember now what that place was cause this was a few yrs. ago they did that batch of stores. They are buying up so much ammo that my husband's type has been on back order for months... SOMETHING is definitely going on, what that is who knows, except for them. My best case scenario is that they know more about what to expect from 'nature' than we do and they are preparing for the 'worst' case scenario...for example they recently filed their report on the Carrington event, which is a massive solar flair that would knock out communications, electric, banks, internet the whole shebang...they projected what resources are still needed, what is in reserve already, and which cities will need to be taken control of first from civil unrest...fwi Chicago, La, and DC will be among the first few they think will give others problems. This and the info on their massive purchases can be found on their own website. You can also watch you tube vids. that show you the paper work verbatim and give the links to verify . And Lois, you should probably listen to your son more Alot on this subject is or very well could be propaganda and misinfo. but I for one , won't be going to a camp if I can help it. I don't need anyone to take care of me or mine, we got this! No matter what's coming. Saves room for others who may need some help.

speaking in worst case scenario the beautiful gods in DC will try a power grab involving firearms. they believe of course that there will be those who decline that offer of security so they will enforce it in our front yards. Such events being called civil war. Ruby Ridge and Waco being test cases. I have spent about 50 years reading history and it tends to add up given the data at hand. Just my opinion paranoid as it maybe

They already tried it. That's what the so-called "fast and furious" program was all about. Obama and the "Justice" Department (and I use that term very loosely : were buying guns from Arizona gun dealers and sending them across the border to Mexican drug dealers. They claimed that they wanted to see where the guns ended up, but what they really wanted was for the guns to be used to commit crimes so that Obama could then point fingers and say, "See? This is why we need gun control to stop American guns from being used to commit crimes." Unfortunately for him, one of those guns that he sent over there was used to commit a crime...and a border patrol agent was killed by it. During the investigation the truth about what had happened finally came out and now Obama and the "Justice" Department are trying as hard as they can to claim they knew nothing about what was going on even though they are the ones who implemented the program. The never ending assault on our freedom continues...

Uh huh, It sure has like someone on here said, Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia, This stuff will happen, its not a matter of if but when. Sometimes I wonder if the world would have been better of if the Axis powers had won WWII. Hitler would have eventually died and the world would population have been smaller. Maybe humans would have gotten off oil and been further along in space.

Hitler did die...and both the United States and the Soviet Union continued the policies that he had implimented. Now we are on the verge of becoming exactly like Nazi Germany. We didn't win the war against fascism and socialism...we just prolonged the outcome a few decades.

Sometimes I wonder if the world would have been better of if the Axis powers had won WWII. Hitler would have eventually died and the world would population have been smaller. Maybe humans would have gotten off oil and been further along in space. If the rationale here is only a single goal - what would get us out into space. I prefer the way WW2 turned out for the world. If justice was ever served it was wiping out fascism. It was the seed planted by the development of large liquid fueled rockets by Germany true. But if they had won the war, Von Braun's rockets would have been put on the scrap heap after the new dark age that would have followed. What quickened humanity entering into space was the new technology and the great promise it offered - combined with the competition that followed between the Soviet Union and the United States - who enjoyed the spoils of that new German technology. Without the combination of the German scientists and the delicately balanced political stress of the cold war that followed, we may not be in space even now I believe. And if Germany and the envisioned 1000 year Reich were to go into space - it would be Darth Vaders and not Luke Skywalkers that would be exploring space - not a good or probably peaceful prospect. Large interplanetary rockets built on the dead bodies of slave labor. No Thanks. Von Braun wanted to go to the Moon - like his childhood inspiration for him and many others in Germany - Fritz Lang's film 'Frau im Mond' ('Woman on the Moon'). But if Von Braun hoped to go to the Moon, Nazi Germany just wanted to win the war they started first. I think history in that respect turned out the best it could under the circumstances. Someday we will be exploring space in earnest again somehow.... Each generation has it's inspirational film. First it was 'Frau im Mond' in 1926, the 'Destination Moon' in 1950, the 2001: A Space Odyssey' in 1968. I think we are over due for a new film (not science fantasy) - but serious science fiction once again to fire up a new generation. Steve

We are lacking in both leadership and in motivation in the area of space exploration. our leadership is more interested in social programs than in the space program. Lacking the Soviet Unions threat we have no motivation to give push to things. In the 1950s living next to an air base I saw military aircraft everyday and went to school with Air Force kids. Scout leaders were Air Force. the spirit was different then. they were the winners of WWII and they were on the ball ready to take on Russia on notice to do so. Now what we have are the ruins of America. Detroit armed the world in WWII now it is one big ruin of a city,. We had the planes and the tanks to conquer the world literally and now we are sorry we exist to the world. We went from kick *bleep* can do to dont offend anyone dont look them in the eye. once we had over 31,000 nuclear weapons the plan is to go to 300 equal to Isreal. Great if you want to fight that country only. The spirit was different in the 1950s now it is lacking in "can do". You had to live it to see the difference

[ Von Braun wanted to go to the Moon - like his childhood inspiration for him and many others in Germany - Fritz Lang's film 'Frau im Mond' ('Woman on the Moon'). I saw that movie. Hermann Oberth (Vaun Braun's mentor) consulted on it. Hermann Oberth was pretty outspoken about UFO's and embraced the ETH. As horrific as the Nazi's were I don't think it would still be a secret. Our whole system is based on the premis that there's nothing to UFO's and ET's we have to still keep using oil and lead the world in arms trade selling jet fighters because people who are making Billions of dollars have the most influence on a government. I believe Japan and Germany would have moved on to field propulsion. Craft that imitate ET craft. The rocketry thing would have happened following WWII but that is not how the ET's are getting around. Rocketry and even the space shuttle is a primitive way to travel into space.

I am reminded of the old move Strategic Air Command. they were highly trained ready to go at a moments notice, no soul searching or any second guessing. It was conquer dying was not an option By now we should have bases on the moon and manned flights to mars The whole universe is out there. here we sit glued to the ground. As a kid on the hill F 104s taking off would just skim the hill top and make the ground shake passing over head. I loved it but maybe they were offering a challenge to the greys by doing that or taking pictures.

I'm an enlisted Marine in the Corp and I know the importance of MREs; there isn't much to that other than we need to ration three a day to every Marine in the field or for those in training. (Despite the taste ... ) There's not much suspicion there. As for "scaling things down" and the process of leaving Afghanistan, it will be a slow, very slow process. It's tedious. We are still in war, so in other words we aren't evacuating Afghan, we are easing our way out. As for Randy's statement on the lack of motivation towards further exploration into space, well... I completely agree.

Russia is pretty much is bed with US interest in covering up UFOs. If you look at their economy they benefit a great deal from oil. The sad thing is things like nukes, nuclear power plants, and the conusmption of crude oild should all be obsolete with the revelation of ET tech. So the space programs from both sides were and still are pretty a much a ruse. It was more relevant 40 or 50 years ago but there should have been some type of disclosure benefiting everyone on the planet and not just a few super power nations who are the pigs of the world. People have these nationalistic feelings but the truth is we are all human beings and technology hasn't been used effectively to benefit everyone.

The only reason we went to the moon in the 60s is because we were competing in the cold war arms race with the Soviet Union. the Russians launched Sputnic which caught everybody by surprise and scared the bejeeperes out of everybody in the US because they were afraid the Soviets would start building space weapons and gain an advantage over us. That's why the space race escalated and we ended up sending people to the moon. Once that race had been decided the Russians couldn't see any way to top our accomplishment in space so they just started building more nukes instead. Without any reason to continue pushing the boundaries of space the US also lost interest. It never was about science or exploration...just military one-upmanship. Now without any foreign enemy to compete against the government is just fighting against its own people.

Without any reason to continue pushing the boundaries of space the US also lost interest. It never was about science or exploration...just military one-upmanship. Now without any foreign enemy to compete against the government is just fighting against its own people. Here are some myths about outer space. #1. We need a Cold War and rockets to go into outer space. Rockets may have been necessariy at first but notice this is not how the space faring ET's travel. It's by filed propulsion. If disclosure happened lets say right after the Roswell crash we would be a more space faring species. A lot of our craft would not rely on a tremendous amount of thrust to push an object forward but would imitate ET craft. Instead of a rocket you would see something like a saucer. #2. The Cold War was necessary for a space program. As governments became more advanced there would always have been a desire to go into outer space. In fact before NASA was created the army had a desire to weaponize space because if you can control the world from space it's game over for everyone else. Also space contains resources that we would eventually had the desire to exploit. One thing humans do is exploit resources. As fr as FEMA camps what if something happened where there was only enogh food or water for 20% of the population? In the case of such a catastrophy people would have to be contained and a lot of people would die. There are 7 Billion people on the planet. There is the realistic possibilty that we may not be able to support that many people so there is going to be a great death toll.

We don't need a cold war and rockets to go into space but that is what it took for our governments to get there. They were only spurred into action because of the military threat or advantage that they thought it would offer. The military may have continued their space program after the moon landing but if they did it has been a secret kept from the general population..
The biggest advancements that will be made in space exploration will happen once the government no longer has a monopoly over the space program. When space is taking out of the hands of politicians who only care about power, and put into the hands of private citizens and corporations who see an opportunity to make money off of it that is when space exploration (and exploitation) will really begin.

Well coprporations pretty much already do run things. National security policy is more or less about resource exploitation than it is about protecting us from trumped up foreign threats. So people who have power and influence over politics want to keep things like they are, you pumping gas at $4.00 a gallon and building jet fighters, missiles, tanks, drones. Privitizing space IMO is a good thing but there's no rush since Billionairs like things the way they are.

Recall the star wars program. Orbiting missile platforms with nuclear weapons. Take the basic idea once established and rotate the platforms 180 degrees so the missiles point out instead of in. What do you have then. Simple a planet defense system the real reason the proposal was made in the first place. Too bad it was killed. many people I have talked to have a hard time understanding the idea that rotating the platforms changes the game plan it was a great idea to cover building a planet defense system.

The attitude that many Americans have about FEMA camps is pretty scary. I asked one person if he had ever heard of them, and he said "no, I don't keep up with conspiracy theories." Heaps of evidence (including video) of concentration camps being constructed on US soil, and it's being written off as a conspiracy theory. I guess the transition to a dictatorship will be quite easy if that's how people think. If you don't believe that martial law could happen here, just take a look at www.martiallawusa.com. All the proof is there.

The basic problem is that the elite dont want to share power with anyone else. hence we see family groups is politics. having read thousands of books on history in the last 50 years i have a general idea of how things go. There is not to many people on the planet but rather too much corruption and poor leadership. Our own country is an example of the previous statement. Our leadership would have trouble leading people out of a burning barn. I can face the future calmly and effectively. I have learned from a green beret friend what I need to know and face things with confidence

As a measure of the paranoia factor let me ratchet it up some by relating that the Feds converted a number of old buses to haul prisoners for some reason in Arizona. Also they trained drivers and guards for these buses. What they expect to do with them is the question. Since they have not used them to date they may be a sort of reserve in case of civil unrest. As they have stock piled 2 million cheap coffins also it gives pause to thought

just to add spice to the soup DHS has also bought 174,000 rds of special made sniper ammo. since snipers are trained to fire one rd for one kill that is a lot of ammo for a non military agency to buy for sniping. Where are all these enemies of the state at?
