I had another dream last night, and once again something was chasing after me. That makes four dreams in a row where I was being chased by something. There seems to be a pattern here. January 25, 2011In this dream I was living in a small log cabin up on top of a small mountain. There were lots of trees around, a mixture of evergreens and deciduous trees, but the leaves were brown and covering the ground. There was a rocky ridge that the cabin was built upon.
As I was out walking I suddenly saw a huge grizzly bear coming up the mountain towards me. I immediately ran up to the cabin with the bear hot on my trail. When I got there I turned around and looked and saw that the big bear was getting closer.
I had to do something to defend myself so I started grabbing furniture and throwing it down the mountain at the bear. Chairs, lamps and other assorted odds and ends were raining down but the beast kept getting closer. Finally I grabbed the bed and rolled it down the hill too. The bear stopped when he saw that huge thing coming at him. I don't know if it stopped him permanently though because that is when I woke up.

Hmmm, I had a dream not that long ago about being chased to a cabin in the woods. Although, it wasn't a small cabin and I wasn't being chased by a bear, but by a dinosaur. I assume reading books about dinosaurs every night to my son played a part int hat little tidbit. Yet, it was a mixture of trees, mountainous, and rocky. There was also a mist in the air, damp and cold.

What kind of dinosaur, Sanseed? I have a lot of dinosaur dreams also, and it is always a T-rex that is chasing me. No matter where I hide he always finds me. I remember in one dream I tried to hide in a church and I ran upstairs to the steeple thinking I would be safe there, but after a few moments this thought popped into my head--"Wait a minute, if I am up high in the steeple then I am probably right about even with his head..." Sure enough, I turned around and looked out the window and there he was just a few feet away looking at me like somebody had just rung the dinner bell. I hate those dreams. The T-rex always scares me more than anything.

It was a T-rex, which is also my son's favorite dino. It was greenish blue. It is strange that you said that you went up in the steeple. In my dream I went up in the log house. I don't remember if it was second or third floor, but I do remember a lot of windows. I was able to watch it come towards the house, and like you I was at head level.
When I read other's dreams and hear the similarities, I wonder about a collective unconscious. Was Jung really on to something?

There are a lot of similarities in the dreams that people have. Falling dreams for instance, or the one where you are trying to run but can only move in slow motion. Those are common to just about everybody even though there is no reason why they should be. I read in a book about Native Americans that they used to believe that people had two souls...one that resided in the body during the day, and another that left the body and travelled the world while they were asleep. Maybe when we are asleep our minds are free to wander and possibly tap into a universal consciousness like you described. Maybe there is some dream world that our spirits can travel to in our sleep. Maybe we even share each others dreams... The possibilities are endless.

I've had dreams about Raptors spitting acid on me... never a T-Rex though...

Skywalker, you are right in saying that there are dreams that are common to everyone. Yet, what has been tripping me up lately are the details. Just in random conversations with people I have noticed that the similarities go beyond the theme of the dream (i.e. falling dreams), but down into the details. That is when I begin to wonder what if...
It could be all the things you mentioned above, or maybe something else. Maybe we are all beginning to tap into a collective (getting in touch with spiritual/energy selfs)? Maybe this has been happening since the beginning of man dreaming, but we just never realized it? Who knows, but it posses a really interesting question.

skywalker - I can't read your yellow posting. Lois, hiding from an early age - did you read my posting of my memories (I just brought it over from the other site)? You and I did the same thing as kids - people told me I was afraid of the train. I was afraid of something in the SKY. I don't remember airplanes when I was young - we weren't near an airport or base.
Sansseed - other cultures believe in group dreaming. They assume that their wise person - prophet, shaman, witch, whatever can help them decipher them. I believe (personally) that we may be better connected when we are asleep. Space and time are less daunting. In our dreams we don't "know better" - that we can't do it.

Last night I had another weird dream, and this one wasn't just weird, it was "Stephen King" weird. Maybe I should write a story about it and get rich and famous. January 27, 2011.I was being held prisoner. The cell I was in was a dark, dreary place about ten feet wide by forty feet long. There was a door and a small window at one end, the rest was completely sealed.
There were several other people in the cell with me. I didn't know any of them and we all pretty much kept to ourselves, until "they" came. They were the people (or whatever they were) who were holding us prisoner. Once a day they would come to the window and call out a name, and as soon as that person was called the rest of the prisoners would get as far away from him as possible...for the poor man's time on the world was short. He was about to executed...or sacrificed, killed...whatever you wanted to call it. He was about to die a horrible death.
It didn't happen right away of course. They wanted to give the victim time to think about what was coming, to make peace with himself or his god, or just to suffer the torment of knowing he was about to die.
After a while there would be a clanking sound as the window was opened and the executioners came pouring in, but the killers were not decidedly not human. Instead they looked like little round, white ping-pong balls. Innocent looking enough, but deadly in their effect. A whole swarm of them would flood through the opening at the end of the cell and whirl about the room like angry white bees in a tornado.
As the rest of the inmates cowered at the far end of the room the chosen prisoner would stand helpless and alone at the other end as the little white round things attacked him mercilessly. They swarmed over him like a cloud of locusts, sometimes lifting the poor man up off the ground and drowning out his screams as they devoured every last bit of flesh on his body. When they were finished all that would remain was a pile of loose bones scattered about the floor. The other prisoners remained untouched. It wasn't their turn.
I watched several people die in this horrific manner before the fateful day came when my name was called. Suddenly, I was the outcast. My cellmates drifted away from me casting a few pitiful glances in my direction. Not a word was spoken. I was simply left to wallow in the few last desperate moments I had left in my life.
I tried to make sense of it all, to understand what was happening and why, to find some meaning to life, or to rationalize such a meaningless death. But there were no answers, only questions...the most important one being when was that window going to clank open that one last time.
My mind should have been racing, trying to find some avenue of escape, or some ray of hope to cling to for as long as I possibly could, but there was no hope. I knew that. I accepted it. It was time for me to die. I knew that just as sure as I knew that I had once been alive.
There was a time when I had been filled with life and love and laughter, when hopes and dreams carried me away to places that I never knew existed, and could never possibly attain. But that was a long time ago in another life that did not include dark dreary jail cells and homicidal ping-pong balls. But now my life was over. I knew it and I accepted it. I was empty inside, just as vacant and hollow as one of those darned balls.
Then the window clanked, and I knew that it was time. I took one last look at the other men huddled at the far end of the cell. How pathetic they looked, I thought. So full of fear and dread...and life. What was the point in being afraid? We all die sooner or later, why be afraid of that?
I am not afraid, I thought. Then I turned to face my executioners as they came pouring into the cell. I watched them as they flew around the room, faster and faster, in a cloud of killing furry, then they were on me, ripping me to pieces one bite at a time. I didn't feel any pain...not much anyway. It felt like something was pecking me all over my body. Then I was lifted up in the air and I watched in fascinating horror as my own leg bones clattered to the floor beneath me. I was being eaten alive.
A few moments more and my world turned red...then black...and it was over. The last thing I remember, the last thought I had before I blacked out, were a series of numbers flashing in my mind--1 1 1 3.I told you it was a weird dream. What is even more weird is that as soon as I woke up I looked at my clock--It said 1:31. I don't know what the deal is with all of the ones and threes. Those numbers don't make any more sense to me than a man-eating ping-pong ball. The only thing I do know for sure is the next time I play ping-pong those balls are going to get hit harder than they ever have been before.

It does seem like a Stephen King novel... Very well written as always skywalker. I think you should write a novel... but that's my opinion.

I had a dream about Stiver last night. I didn't actually see her in the dream because I have no idea what she looks like, but I could hear her voice. When I got on the computer just now I checked the IPs of all the guests who were on within the past 24 hours and hers was one of them. that's the first time I have seen her IP show up over here although I know she has been here before. Coincidence?

I had a dream about Bigfoot last night. I have never had a dream about Bigfoot before. It wasn't the same Bigfoot that was in the film from California. The one in my dream was smaller with long shaggy reddish-brown hair. It was still a female though.
February 19, 2011
I was in the forest somewhere up in some small mountains looking for Bigfoot. I was following some tracks that I had found and they were leading down towards a small valley. I could see some movement down at the bottom, which was only a couple hundred feet away. I was sure it was Bigfoot and I was excited that I was finally going to get to see him.
I decided to move over to a clump of trees and climb up one of them in order to get a better look. I very slowly a stealthily crept closer to them and quietly reached out to grab some branches so I could start climbing.
Suddenly a Bigfoot leaped out from behind the tree trunk just a couple of feet away from me and reached out to grab me! It scared the bejeepers out of me...and that is when I woke up.
The Bigfoot in my dream looked a little different from the ones people normally describe from up in the northwest. This one was shorter, only about 6 foot 2 inches or so, and thinner. It looked more like one of the so-called "skunk apes" that supposedly exist down in the southern parts of the country.

Back to the dream of being consumed but being able to see one's own skeleton. In the Shamanic practices of Siberians (and at this moment I can't find my reference book on shamanism and if you saw the space I call "a home office" you'd understand) anyway - one of the initiations is that the seeker of knowledge and practices goes to a lake and fasts (and is cold) under the monster under the lake comes out and devours him. (in the book it was hims). He beholds his own bones and therefore realizes that he is more than his body or his bones. Sometimes he takes a bone to remind himself of that. Somehow later he is rebodied. I had a dream similar to yours (not ping pong guys - I was ritually hung first) and later reduced to bones. That's when I looked up the section in my book. In fact, I was being recreated both by myself and also by the circumstances of my life. I was wasting precious life loving someone who did not have that intensity of feeling for me (or maybe anyone). I had left a stale marriage and was facing aloneness for the rest of my life. I had to get past the terror of that. Not being conveniently alone for alone but facing days and weeks and months and years of eating alone, sleeping alone and dealing with broken stuff and problems alone (except for occasional help). I finally got that I was more than a partner or love object or whatever and that I simply had to accept my own company.
Of course, in the course things, once I knew I could do so, I found a partner. I have no idea of your personal life Skywalker or what transformations you may be going through - helped along with bears and flesh eating ping pong balls but stay with the process.

I stopped dreaming for almost an entire month but recently they have started up again so I will start writing about them. I'm a little bit behind schedule so I will just do the one at a time. March 15, 2011This dream wasn't really a dream, but more like a series of them because I kept waking up. Every time I fell back asleep I would start dreaming again but it followed the same theme. Basically what was happening is that I was being guided through some city that I was not familiar with and my guide was explaining so-called unexplained phenomenon to me that made it sound like they were nothing but illusions. It was like he was trying to convince me that all of the weird things that have happened to me in my life were nothing but minor little things that got blown way out of proportion. Yeah...right. Like I'm going to fall for that. He was showing me different optical illusions...for instance, one that I remember is that there was a bunch of different colored banners being pulled through the air by planes (except I didn't see any planes) and by themselves they were just random colors but when they were lined up a certain way they formed a recognizable pattern. I have no idea what that has to do with anything. Later on I had a dream where the "guide" and I were with my best friend and we were on our way to some University to take part in some scientific study. I have no idea what it was. Along the way we met my best friend's sister who was parked in her car and she was wearing a very sexy outfit that I wish to the Almighty that she would wear in real life. In fact, I would pay money to see her wear that in real life! (Of course it ain't gonna happen ) By the way, I don't need anybody to interpret that last part of the dream and tell me it means I am a perverted old man because I already know that and I am darned proud of it! ;D The next part of the dream we were taken inside the university into a very fancy waiting room with polished wooden walls and brass trim and it was very elegant. There were a lot of very well dressed professional-looking people there sitting on leather couches and chairs reading magazines and waiting. As I walked into the room I realized that for some reason I did not have any clothes on! I was completely buck-neked in front of everybody and I was very embarrassed about it but since nobody was paying attention I sat down and started reading a magazine. That's when I woke up for the last time. I don't have a clue what all of that nonsense meant but I got the impression that somebody was trying to distract me from finding out the truth about what is really going on by making me think it is just a bunch of mountains being made out of molehills.

I just now read this post you made. I don't know where I was before since I usually try to read all of the posts. I must have been asleep or something. It is very interesting what you said about the Shaman and the bones...it sounds like maybe it is a symbol of being reborn to a higher spiritual plain of existence. My personal life is pathetic by the way. That's probably why I spend so much time here on the forum. that doesn't mean that I am miserable or anything because I am very happy to be alive and to get as much out of life as I possibly can. It would be nice to have somebody to share all of my adventures with though. Maybe one of these years I will meet a nice young ping pong ball and live happily ever after. Stranger things have happened.

Here is another dream that I recently had involving aliens. I don't dream about aliens much which is kind of surprising considering how much time I spend reading about them.
March 18, 2011
In my dream I was on a mountain made out of granite or marble and I was trying to sneak into a position to take some photos of some aliens. I don't know how I knew the aliens were there but I just knew.
Down below me was a dirt road that lead to a small gravel-covered parking lot, and parked in the parking lot was a school bus. There were several humanoid aliens and a group of about 20 people. The aliens were telling the people to get on the bus so they could transport them somewhere.
I was trying to get closer when I suddenly realized that the "mountain" I was on was hollow and there was a huge cavern inside. There were holes and cracks in the rock and I was able to look right through them and see inside the cave. It was huge...about the size of a large football stadium. The rock I was climbing on wasn't very thick and I was worried it was going to collapse and carry me in with it. I was still determined to get some photos though.
I inched my way forward until I had a clear view of what was going on and I took a few pictures but for some reason the aliens faces came out all blurry. Everything else was clear but not the aliens. I couldn't understand why since they looked clear while I was looking at them in person, but they were blurry in the photos. As I was trying to figure out why I woke up.

Do you know the location in this dream.? What part of the USA were they in? What kind of aliens were they? Grays? I never dream of Aliens. You sure have strange dreams. I had one about a week ago which was very scary, but after getting out of the darn bed it was gone. Why? I use to remember all my dreams.
Im curious where you were?

The aliens I was dreaming about were not actually grays but more of a gray/human hybrid. They had some of the gray characteristics and some human features but were definitely aliens. As for where it was taking place, I would take a wild guess and say possibly South Dakota. The rocks and trees that were in my dream were very similar to what I remember from when I was in the Black Hills in South Dakota. The rock was kind of a grayish marble type rock, and the mountain I was on was about the same size as what they have up there. That's just a guess though.
I do have some weird dreams, don't I? At least it wasn't man-eating ping-pong balls this time. That's got to be the weirdest dream I have ever had.

April 2, 2011I had a nightmare last night but I can barely remember it which I suppose is probably for the better. I hate having nightmares.
In my dream I woke up in bed to find that there were scorpions crawling all over me. I quickly leaped up and started trying to get away from them but they were everywhere. I was trying to run across the floor without stepping on them with my bare feet, then I opened the door and ran out of the house but they were crawling all over the ground outside too. i kept stepping on them and they were stinging me and that is when I woke up for real. After I woke up I was lying in bed and I started to imagine that there were scorpions in my bed and I kept turning the light on looking for them. I hate those stupid bugs! I had another dream last night also about something that was very important but I can't remember what it was. It seemed like a premonition of something that is going to happen but darn it all, I can't remember what it is. Rats!

I haven't been able to remember many of my dreams for the past two months. I don't know why. Usually I remember them very well but lately everything has been very foggy and it just slips away from me when I wake up. I'm starting to remember them again though. This is one that I had a few days ago. I would have posted it sooner but...I forgot. May 19, 2011The dream I had was about Jokelly...sort of. It wasn't actually about her but she was in it. It took place somewhere back in time, or in the future, or in a different dimension with a different timeline...I don't know. It was back in time but it felt like it was in the future at the same time. It was a really weird dream. It seemed to be set during the civil war era and I was one of the people fighting in it. I wasn't actually a soldier but I was shooting at them. I had a rifle that I would raise up and fire at targets that had to be at least a half mile away. That's a little bit far to be shooting at people, even for a good ol' boy from Texas but I seemed to be doing okay. In the dream Jo and I and several other people were sitting around a campfire talking. It was daytime so there was still plenty of light. Jo was traveling around to different places and she just happened to be passing through. She told me that she had been living with the indians for a while and was learning about their culture and way of life. She was dressed similar to the way a Native American would dress but without the feathers and face paint. She did have a tatoo that she showed me that had some significance but I forgot what it was. It was about two inches in diameter and had a rounded look to it but wasn't quite round. it was more like a snowflake design. She also told me that she had a daughter, or an adopted daughter named Elizabeth. She was telling me something important about her but I forgot what it was. Darn it! I had this dream several nights ago and when I woke up I tried to remember as much as I could about it because I wanted to write about it but when I went back to sleep I forgot all about it. I just now remembered that I had the dream. After we had sat and talked for a while we all went our separate ways and I was riding along on a horse past a big open field planted with crops. There was a hill off in the distance where the enemy soldiers were hiding and that's when I started shooting at them. I wasn't doing it in any hurry because I knew that as far away as they were there was no way they could hit me. I was picking them off one after another. Suddenly I saw a couple of indians come sneaking out of the field in front of me. Their arms were full of corn and other vegetables that they had been stealing. I raised my rifle up and took aim at them and was going to blow them to kingdom come when I thought about Jo and the things she had said about the natives and I decided not to shoot them. I realized that they were just people like you and me and everybody else, just trying to stay alive and feed themselves and their families in the middle of a war zone. They weren't bad people so why should they die? So, I decided to live and let live and rode on my way. That was when I woke up. This dream was interesting because usually my dreams are about mean things with big teeth chasing after me and I usually wake up with my heart pounding and covered with sweat. In this dream I didn't feel threatened at all, even in the middle of a war zone. I felt like I was totally in control of the situation. That was a nice change.
