Agencies investigating mysterious ‘booms' in Hamblen County (East Tennessee)Jay Miller Jan 6, 2015
MORRISTOWN — The Morristown-Hamblen Emergency Management Agency in Morristown is asking residents of the Hamblen County area if they “felt or heard a loud boom” early Tuesday. Chris Bell, director of the Morristown-Hamblen Emergency Management Agency in Morristown, said they have had widespread reports from people in the community about mysterious vibrations and unexplained loud noises. The “booms” have been occurring “for quite some time,” and the agency is working to find the source of the noise, according to a Facebook post by the agency Tuesday morning. “People report windows shaking or a boom that sounds like a transformer booming, or something running into their house,” Bell said. According to Bell, EMA is working with the Center for Earthquake Research and Information and the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to determine the cause of the disruption. CERI has deployed an instrument that detects seismic activity to help determine the source of the sounds. “We had an instrument deployed here in town to figure out what those booms originate from,” he said. “The instrument is a seismic instrument that reads when there is ground shaking. We are still investigating.” Bell said the groups have narrowed down a few possible reasons for the disruptions, but so far they can only speculate on the cause. “There is speculation,” he said. “We are trying to rule out man-made (causes), and we believe that it could be something that is natural, but we cannot determine that until we have reviewed the data.

Afternoon Update: We greatly appreciate everyone who has called in and gave us your information or either left a message on our page. We have now compiled a listing of locations and we are working with an agency in the Memphis area to determine the exact location and/or cause of the booms. With this type of magnitude that was felt and heard this process may take some time but once we can get a more clear dimension and location we will be working close with the agency out of Memphis and once information has been obtained we will be letting our community know the outcome as we know more. Again, the communities support is greatly appreciated and keep watch on our facebook page for updates as we get them in. Please keep in mind that we do not give out any names or phone numbers to any agencies as we consider this private information, the information that was collected from our agency will stay within our agency. Louisiana Loud Boom: Mysterious ‘Sonic Boom’ In The Sky Rattles Residents, ‘Debris Field’ Spotted, What Is The ArkLaTex ‘Boom’?By Althea Serad Updated: Oct 15, 2014 11:19 PM EDT
The Louisiana loud boom which was heard and rattled many north eastern Louisiana residents is as of this moment still left unexplained. However, now the National Weather Service has added that whatever the cause of the Louisiana loud boom, it has left a debris field. (Photo : Twitter) Debris field spotted on radar at time of the Louisiana loud boom
Some reports also say that the Louisiana loud boom and its accompanying vibration can be described as akin to a "sonic boom."
The mysterious Louisiana loud boom was heard about 4:27 P.M. local time Monday by residents of the area most commonly known as ArkLaTex, according to the Inquisitr. ArkLaTex is a region which includes Northwest Louisiana, Southwest Arkansas and Northeast Texas.
According to WLOX, many residents were jolted by the sound, with some reports saying it shook the ground. Staffers at KSLA News 12 at the studios on Fairfield Ave. also reportedly felt the shaking and heard the reverberation brought on by the deafening sound in Shreveport's Highland neighborhood at 4:27 p.m.
Meanwhile, several homes and businesses also reported that the Louisiana loud boom had been so loud that windows rattled, reports KTBS. Calls have reportedly been coming in to the KTBS newsroom. Numerous residents also sent messages and commented on Facebook. "I was laying in the bed about to get ready to go to work and it was like a big boom. It knocked the pictures off the wall, the trophies over and it busted the next door neighbor window," said David Toal, a resident in the area where the Louisiana loud boom was heard. Another Louisiana loud boom area resident also said that the boom was so loud, she thought her house might collapse.
"My couch came up off the floor a little bit, my back wall felt like it was going to cave in, it was so loud!" said Linda Stewart, a resident of Shirley Francis Rd. in Greenwood. The area where the Louisiana loud boom was most apparent is specked with many oil refineries and pipelines. There are some military installations in the area, but KSLA (Shreveport) said their investigation turned up nil with the refineries and military installations there.
Officials at Calumet in Shreveport and in Cotton Valley said there have been no explosions or incidents at either facility. Other media organizations in the area said a report of the Louisiana loud boom at Calumet is unsubstantiated, as confirmed with the Shreveport Fire Department. They confirmed no calls linking the plant in Shreveport.
An oil tank fire which appeared to have been caused by lightning earlier in the day might explain the Louisiana loud boom, but the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office said no explosions resulted from that incident. A Barksdale Air Force Base spokesperson also denied any activity on the base which could have resulted in the Louisiana loud boom.
There had also reportedly been precipitation in the area during the event of the Louisiana loud boom which might explain the reason of the sound. However, WLOX Meteorologist Jeff Castle said any source of thunder is already too far away. The United States Geologic Survey also denied any seismic activity in the region the day the Louisiana loud boom was heard.
KTBS said they contacted local police about the mysterious boom to explain its cause, but they still haven't determined the cause of the sound. The source of the "sonic" ear-splitting boom heard across ArkLaTex may remain a mystery, but it is worth pointing out again the debris field it caused.
NWS Senior Forecaster Marty Mayeaux told KSLA their radar picked up evidence of the debris field. He said that the debris field that resulted from the Louisiana loud boom had risen 1,000 to 1,500 feet into the air and had drifted east. Mayeaux added that the debris field was hugely akin to debris that the NWS radar picked up after a Camp Minden explosion in 2012.
However, a military explosion may still be impossible since as noted above; there have been no reported incidents at any military bases in the region where the Louisiana loud boom took place. Sheriff Gary Sexton of Webster Parish confirmed that there were no reports of any untoward incident at Camp Minden, where explosives are reportedly stored in blast-resistant bunkers.
A meteor explosion is also suspected to have caused the Louisiana loud boom, since the deafening sound and debris field is consistent with one, according to amateur astronomers at Lunar Meteorite Hunters.
"IF it was a large meteoroid fragmentation a LOUD BOOM would result. IF media witness reports are correct, and IF this event was meteor related, the detonation occurred near Greenwood, LA and Waskom, LA areas at 18-25 miles above the Earth," they said.
While the Louisiana loud boom still remains a mystery, KSLA News 12 is continuing to check with numerous law enforcement agencies and across the area to track down its possible source.

www.ancient-code.com/six-unexplained-sounds-by-noaa/Six unexplained sounds by NOAADo you remember the Summer of 1997 and the Bloop sound? Yes, it was when NOAA made a very cool discovery of a mysterious sound that they called; “The Bloop” sound. Well this is just one of the mysterious sounds that has been recorded through the years; there are a lot more of these sounds and all of them are considered to be “unexplained” by NOAA. These sounds have been picked up in over twenty years of listening to the sounds of the Pacific. The Bloop sound was believed to originate from an animal much larger than we’ve ever seen. The Bloop sound was triangulated by researchers to 50°S 100°WCoordinates: 50°S 100°W which is a remote point in the south Pacific Ocean west of the southern tip of South America. The Bloop sound is considered as one of the most powerful noises ever recorded underwater. It is an interesting phenomena and this is what NOAA has to say about it;! the sound rose rapidly in frequency over about one minute and was of sufficient amplitude to be detected by multiple sensors, at a range of over 5,000 km. NOAA’s Dr. Christopher Fox did not believe its origin was man-made, such as a submarine or bomb, nor familiar geological events such as volcanoes or earthquakes”. Even though other scientists believe the Bloop sound was originated by an “icequake”; the cracking of an ice shelf as it broke up from Antarctica, other scientists still believe that the origin of the Bloop sound is unknown. Scientists have tried offering explanations to some of these sounds, and while some of them could maybe be explained by science, some of the sounds that have been recorded are truly baffling and are considered science’s great mysteries. But the Bloop sound is not the only sound that has attracted interest, there are more sounds that are as mysterious as the Bloop sound, lets check them out. I cannot get your video to play. It is my stupid computer. Always have problems with the videos.
I don't care what science says . In the earth or under water . People are always looking up when you see these videos.
Here is one from u tube.
I think one is recent May 7. Different ones I believe have higher and lower tones but they still sound like they are coming from the same source. Or rather instrument. I doubt if any of these are an instrument. That is all we can relate them too, when listing to them.

There was no wind at the time, she said, and soon after she posted, other West Island residents recounted their own spooky aural encounters. The sound was reported to have lasted more than an hour. This sort of event isn’t unheard of. Similar things have happened in Montana, Australia, Germany and British Columbia. Though there’s no clear explanation, reports say NASA has theorized that it could be the “background noise of the earth.” “These natural radio emissions from the planet are very much real,” Tech Times reported NASA as saying. mysteriousuniverse.org/2016/02/the-rumbling-below-strange-sounds-of-engine-noise-from-underground/ The Rumbling Below: Strange Sounds of “Engine Noise” From Underground February 26, 2016 by Micah Hanks For many years, seismologists and geophysicists have studied various locations where unexplained “humming” is reported. Taos, New Mexico is among the most famous locations where locals have reported a strange, low-level humming, although areas in western Britain, as well as locales that include Sausalito, have reported similar humming noises of unknown origin. Last year, a study featured in Geophysical Research Letters suggested that the underlying cause of mystery “hums” as microseismic activity caused by ocean waves, resulting from deep ocean waves moving across ridges and other geological formations along the ocean floor. This process, along with collisions between deep ocean currents, can result in seismic waves that are believed to result in resonant “humming” at certain locales. However, in the scientific literature pertaining to anomalous noises in nature, there are also instances where the sounds in question seem quite different. Two cases involving noise which, rather than being just a mysterious “hum”, actually sounded like engines of some variety, were reported in the late 1970s, as recorded by physicist William R. Corliss. The first of the two reports occurred in Colorado in 1970, as reported by one T. Adams and a group of campers he had joined on the night in question: CONTINUE READING: mysteriousuniverse.org/2016/02/the-rumbling-below-strange-sounds-of-engine-noise-from-underground/

www.openminds.tv/texans-report-mysterious-big-boom-with-no-conclusion/39552 Texans report mysterious ‘big boom’ with no conclusionPosted by: Roger Marsh / www.openminds.tv/author/roger January 26, 2017 A Texas witness at Lake Jackson reported a loud rumbling sound “like thunder” that shook the house and was followed by an unusual whining sound, according to testimony in Case 80863 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database. The witness recounted what happened about midnight on December 6, 2016. “We have a mystery, locally,” the witness stated.“About 12 midnight, many people felt/heard a boom and shaking. Some people reported that it was followed by a high-pitched whine. The area that seems to have gotten the worst effects was Lake Jackson, about 12 miles from us. Some people as far as Alvin (about 35 miles away northeast), and Brazos Bend State Park, (about 30 miles north) said they had experienced it also.” ‘The Facts’ newspaper covered the story. (Credit: The Facts) The witness has been hearing from more and more people who had the same experience. “More recently, someone said that it had been reported as far away as Cypress, (80 miles north), and Porter, TX, (81 miles northeast), although those are unsubstantiated and single reports, as opposed to the hundreds of people who have been blowing up local Facebook threads. Police have checked all local chemical plants, all possible companies that place explosions to map geologic stuff – nothing. No natural gas explosions in residential areas. No major fires. Our only local paper has a thread going on their website; no news of what might have caused it. One of the Houston news channels sent a reporter, and it was treated about as credibly as a Santa sighting. (country hicks imagined feeling stuff).” The witness believes that the incident is being treated as a mass delusion. “Hundreds of people in the area, especially in Lake Jackson, felt their houses shake, and heard a loud rumble like thunder, although skies were clear. A friend in Detroit, TX, about 350 miles north, read my post on Facebook, and said that at about 11:30 a.m. she had heard a loud and odd rumble of thunder, and even brought it to her husband’s attention. They, also, were under clear skies.” Texas MUFON State Section Director Charles Stansburge investigated this case and closed it as an Unknown. “To really get some information about what happened, I made it my duty to go to Lake Jackson and find out what I could,” Stansburge wrote in his report. “I contacted the Clute Police Department and the dispatcher said that she did not hear the boom because she was out of town. I did contact a couple of other officers and three of them that I had talked to claim they may have heard it, but they had no idea what it was and they also said that they made phone calls and to all the big companies such as BASF Corporation, Dow Chemical Company, OLIN, Phillips 66 and Chevron Phillips in the area. “I contacted Lake Jackson Police Department and one of the officers that was there brought me into the room and we talked about what took place. I asked him if he heard the noise, and he said no, but that we did get a lot of reports coming in from people saying that their houses were even shaking because of the boom. I asked him if he knows how many that had reported it and he stated about 75 that he knew of.” The investigator also polled people in the street – and found an additional approximately 40 new witnesses. He also described the immediate area. “The location is one big city, Lake Jackson, with a couple other smaller towns around it. There are railroad tracks, lots of housing and businesses, police departments, sheriff’s office, schools and multiple plants such as Dow Chemical, Phillips 66 and Chevron Phillips and others. Also a few lakes and they are not far from the Gulf of Mexico.” The investigator filed case conclusions. “There is no real evidence of anything other than a big boom. From here I went ahead and got the phone numbers of the different plants and made a phone call and asked them what they thought it might be or if they had any problems with their planet. Every one of them said that they had no explosions and no problems with anything. They all also said that they kept the plants operational and did some investigation on their own throughout the plants and found nothing. “I also contacted the National Weather Service and asked them about the atmosphere if that was a boom from an exploding meteorite or was it something else. They claim that they have no idea what it was other than maybe a possible meteorite in the atmosphere and it exploded, but they claim they have no information of that from anywhere. I also talked to them about any earthquakes and they claim no earthquakes anywhere around the area or even in the state or surrounding states and they are just as baffled about it as anyone. “The others I have contacted said that other people have told them about different cities. One of those was Katie, Texas, and the police department claims they had no reports about any kind of a boom. Sugarland Police Department also claims no calls from anybody and claimed not to hear any kind of big boom. I called the Sheriff’s Office and asked about any calls of this big boom and they sent me to records and the person in records claims they had calls from citizens but she did not hear herself being inside the building. I also contacted Rosenberg Police Department and I talked to dispatch and they don’t remember having anybody call in and I asked for records and she said they were closed right now – but you can call back on Monday. I called back on Monday and records claims there were people that had called in about the boom. “I also contacted Alvin P D, Ellington Field, Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Huston Police Department, and these were the ones that claim no calls. The city of Brazoria claim they had a few people call in. Also the Brazos Bend State Park also had people that were out in the park and Rangers as well that had heard the big boom. “I contacted the Clute newspaper which is called The Facts and they went ahead and gave me a copy of the paper with the article in it. “At the time of the big boom, which was on the 6th of December, I was sitting at my computer at about 12 to 12:15 and heard a big bang and couldn’t figure it out. I even went outside to check. I did not see any smoke anywhere and had no idea what it was. “No other cases of the big boom have been reported to our database. “The case is completed as an Unknown with at least 100 or more people witnessing hearing this big boom with some homes shaking. As far as my conclusion is, that I don’t know what it is or what was it could have been, perhaps an atmospheric explosion of a meteorite, but nobody knows what it was.” www.openminds.tv/texans-report-mysterious-big-boom-with-no-conclusion/39552

mysteriousuniverse.org/2017/09/otherworldly-sounds-heard-in-the-sky-ahead-of-hurricane-irma/ Otherworldly Sounds Heard in the Sky Ahead of Hurricane Irmaby Brett Tingley / mysteriousuniverse.org/author/bbtingley/September 13, 2017 With all of the horrific natural disasters lately, we’ve had the chance to witness some of the unexplained and mysterious phenomena that sometimes accompany many of these meteorological and seismic events. From eerie earthquake lights in Mexico to strange clouds of toxic mist in England, the planet has been pretty weird lately. Must be that Mercury retrograde. No, not really. At any rate, the global weirdness has continued this year with reports coming in all over the globe of unexplained, eerie sounds which seem to emanate directly from the sky. Take this video (admittedly not the best quality) taken in Virginia on September 1st: A few days later, similar haunting, chime-like sounds were recorded in Illinois: These sounds were heard in the days prior to Hurricane Irma making landfall in the U.S. On top of that, unexplained booms have been reported in many areas over the last week, from South Australia to New Jersey and even throughout the U.K. Could all of these be related? It’s possible, sure. These unexplained noises and the recent deadly hurricanes in the Americas has me wondering, though. I’m not one to typically buy into HAARP or geoengineering conspiracies, but the timing of their recent announcement that the facility is resuming ionospheric experimentation sure has me wondering: Could it be possible for a shadowy military research facility to alter the climate and create superstorms? Who would benefit from such destruction of property and loss of life? I dunno, while I like the idea of HAARP-related high strangeness, that one’s still left to the realm of science fiction. More likely, these anomalies could be the result of the intense and unprecedented solar weather currently wreaking havoc on our upper atmosphere. We’re just beginning to understand the interactions between cosmic and solar radiation and the Earth’s protective fields. Given that the Earth’s magnetic field has been shown to be weakening lately, perhaps these strange sounds are the magnetosphere and ionosphere ‘crying out’ as they are lashed by flares of solar radiation. Sounds pretty cool, anyway. mysteriousuniverse.org/2017/09/otherworldly-sounds-heard-in-the-sky-ahead-of-hurricane-irma/

mysteriousuniverse.org/2017/10/strange-debris-washes-up-in-north-carolina-after-mystery-boom/ Strange Debris Washes Up in North Carolina After Mystery Boomby Brett Tingley / mysteriousuniverse.org/author/bbtingley/October 13, 2017 What’s going on in the skies above North Carolina? Two seemingly separate news stories out of my home state this week are hinting that there might be more going on above our heads than the proverbial ‘they’ are letting on. The mystery began on Saturday, October 7th when residents of Winston Salem, NC heard what has been described as an “earsplitting boom” in the skies overhead. Residents described the noise as a “muffled explosion” that was strong enough to shake the windows and doors of homes in the area. One area man, Eugene Nieto, told local Fox affiliate WGHP that the noise sounded like a bomb: It sounded like something hit the side of the house. I thought either a truck crashed or something exploded somewhere. It sounded like a legit concussion. It sounded like a bomb. After searching the area and interviewing local residents, Winston Salem police haven’t a clue what could have caused the deafening boom overhead and are seeking the public’s help in piecing this mystery together. Interestingly, the Winston Salem boom coincided with a similar noise heard above Cairns, Australia heard on the same day. The strangeness doesn’t stop there though. The day after Winston Salem skies were rocked by a seemingly unexplained explosion, a piece of what appears to be an unidentified rocket or aircraft washed up on NC’s shores. The debris washed up on the coast in Hatteras Village on NC’s Outer Banks. The object appears to be constructed from metal and some sort of synthetic insulating material and measures roughly 10 feet by 15 feet. The piece is rounded and includes a serial number, and the lack of barnacles on the debris implies it wasn’t in the ocean long before it washed ashore. The leading theory seems to be that the object could be some sort of rocket fairing or nose cone. After discovering the debris, baffled Hatteras Village residents called the National Park Service who then notified the Air Force. An investigation into its origin is still underway. Could the debris be related to the mysterious boom heard just a few hundred miles inland the night before? mysteriousuniverse.org/2017/12/military-denies-knowledge-of-mystery-boom-near-florida-bases/ Military Denies Knowledge of Mystery Boom Near Florida Basesby Brett Tingley / mysteriousuniverse.org/author/bbtingley/December 19, 2017 Unexplained booms have been one of the most prevalent unexplained phenomena of this year. While mysterious explosions in the sky are nothing new, they’ve been occurring with increasing regularity lately. The latest mystery booms happened this week over Tampa, Florida and was strong enough to shake houses across three different counties. Tampa resident Fred Krauer Jr. told the Tampa Bay Times that his home was rattled by the boom which left a disconcerting silence in its wake: It sounded like a plane had crashed. I felt it in my feet in the shower. It’s a little unnerving, as with anything with the unknown. If we don’t have the answer for something, your mind starts reaching. Spokespersons for six different government agencies claimed they were not responsible and had no knowledge whatsoever of the cause of the boom. Northern Florida is home to MacDill Air Force Base, Eglin Air Force Base, Tyndall Air Force Base, the 45th Space Wing, and Kennedy Space Center, so initial speculation centered around military activity in the area. However, MacDill AFB spokesperson Terry Montrose said there are “no records of fighters in the area.” An interesting choice of words – stating only that there were no fighters in the area leaves open the possibility that there could have been other type of aircraft overhead. What’s more, the Tampa Bay Times reports that a Canadian Air Force spokesperson speaking on behalf of annaD said that two aircraft were cleared to break the sound barrier over the Gulf of Mexico. All signs point to the likelihood that this was a military exercise of some kind, and the silence of officials in the area indicates it was classified or otherwise hush-hush. Given all of the anomalous aircraft sightings and strange activity spotted at known top secret test sites, could these booms be merely a further sign of recent military aircraft testing? Given that mystery booms pre-date the invention of aircraft, however, there could be more anomalous explanations. Is secretive military testing just a convenient scapegoat for something stranger or darker? Is there such a thing? mysteriousuniverse.org/2017/12/military-denies-knowledge-of-mystery-boom-near-florida-bases/

mysteriousuniverse.org/2018/01/when-sound-becomes-your-worst-nightmare/ When Sound Becomes Your Worst Nightmareby Nick Redfern / mysteriousuniverse.org/author/nredfern/January 31, 2018 Startling and disturbing information relative to how sound can be used as a tool of control and manipulation can be found in the pages of a formerly classified U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency document dated March 1976. Its title: Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation (Radiowaves and Microwaves) Eurasian Communist Countries (you can find it at this link). Written by Ronald L. Adams and Dr. R. A. Williams, of the U.S. Army (and specifically of the Medical Intelligence and Information Agency), it notes in part: “The Eurasian Communist countries are actively involved in evaluation of the biological significance of radio-waves and microwaves. Most of the research being conducted involves animals or in vitro evaluations, but active programs of a retrospective nature designed to elucidate the effects on humans are also being conducted.” Of deep concern to the United States military and the intelligence community, was the incredible revelation that the Soviets had developed technology that allowed them to beam “messages” into the minds of targeted individuals. Rather notably, the DIA and the Army concluded that such messages might direct a person to commit nothing less than suicide. Even if the person was not depressed, said Adams and Williams, the technology could be utilized to plunge them into sudden states of “…irritability, agitation, tension, drowsiness, sleeplessness, depression, anxiety, forgetfulness, and lack of concentration.” The authors added: “Sounds and possibly even words which appear to be originating intra-cranially can be induced by signal modulation at very low average-power densities.” They concluded: “The Soviets will continue to investigate the nature of internal sound perception. Their research will include studies on perceptual distortion and other psycho-physiological effects. The results of these investigations could have military applications if the Soviets develop methods for disrupting or disturbing human behavior.” When, in the mid-1980s, plans were formulated by the iron-fist regime of then-Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher to base nuclear “Cruise” missiles at strategic military bases in the British Isles, it provoked massive demonstrations on the part of the general public – and particularly at a military establishment called Royal Air Force Greenham Common, a now-closed down installation in Berkshire, England. As a result of the planned placement of missiles at Greenham Common, a large group of women peace-protesters set up camp outside the base. It wasn’t long, however, before many of the women began to experience a series of disturbing symptoms, including deep depression, overwhelming anxiety attacks, intense migraine-like headaches, alarming losses of short-term memory, and much more of a distinctly mind-destabilizing nature. As a direct result of this alarming and highly suspicious development, theories began to quickly develop and circulate to the effect that the women were being specifically targeted with electromagnetic weaponry, as part of an intensive effort to bring their demonstrations – which had generated a large amount of support – to an abrupt and permanent end. Then, there’s the matter of New Mexico’s notorious “Taos Hum.” Live Science notes of the hum that it “seems to have first been reported in the early 1990s. Joe Mullins, a professor emeritus of engineering at the University of New Mexico, conducted research into the Taos Hum. Based on a survey of residents, about 2 percent of the general population was believed to be ‘hearers,’ those who claimed to detect the hum.” Those who were able to pick up the hum said it irritated them, provoked stress, and caused panic-attacks and insomnia. In more recent years, such hums have been heard all around the world. In 2015, the U.K.’s Independent newspaper reported: “In Britain, the most famous example was the ‘Bristol hum’ that made the news in the late 1970s. One newspaper asked readers in the city: ‘Have you heard the Hum?’ and at least 800 people said they had.” Alarmingly, it was revealed that when the humming was at its absolute height, people were affected by intense migraines and even bloody noses. When the humming stopped, so did the side-effects. As for the specific sound, it was likened to a car engine which was “idling,” some distance away from the people affected. In a 2016 article titled “A Maddening Sound,” writer Colin Dickey detailed a number of such examples, including this one: “Sue Taylor first started hearing it at night in 2009. A retired psychiatric nurse, Taylor lives in Roslin, Scotland, a small village seven miles outside of Edinburgh. ‘A thick, low hum,’ is how she described it, something ‘permeating the entire house,’ keeping her awake.” Taylor’s initial thought was that perhaps the annoying – almost destabilizing – noise was coming from a factory close by. Maybe a generator. As a result, Taylor decided to do a bit of detective work, checking out the surrounding area, and even hanging out outside the homes of her friends and neighbors, in an effort to try and resolve the mystery. Unfortunately, and although the hum was clearly a real phenomenon, she failed to crack the mystery. Things proceeded to get worse: the hum plagued her during the night – to the extent that she even had hear ears examined by a doctor – who could find no problems at all. She began to suffer from a cross between vertigo and dizziness – to the point that she felt sick. Even the house itself felt as if it was shaking slightly. In 2011, Andrew Liszewski wrote an article for Gizmodo with an eye-catching title: “Future Riot Shields Will Suffocate Protestors with Low Frequency Speakers.” Sci-fi, this was not. It was all too disturbingly real. Liszewski said: “It’s not the first crowd control tool to use sound waves, but Raytheon’s patent for a new type of riot shield that produces low frequency sound waves to disrupt the respiratory tract and hinder breathing, sounds a little scary.” Many might agree. mysteriousuniverse.org/2018/01/when-sound-becomes-your-worst-nightmare/

It is a strange world out there. The Sound and the Fury: Inside the Mystery of the Havana EmbassyMore than a year after American diplomats began to suffer strange, concussion-like symptoms in Cuba, a U.S. investigation is no closer to determining how they were hurt or by whom, and the FBI and CIA are at odds over the case. A ProPublica investigation reveals the many layers to the mystery — and the political maneuvering that is reshaping U.S.-Cuba relations.
by Tim Golden and Sebastian Rotella Feb. 14, 2018
It was a cool night for Havana, with the temperature falling into the mid-70s, and the diplomat and his family were feeling very good about their assignment to Cuba. They were still settling into their new home, a comfortable, Spanish-style house in the lush enclave that had been called “el Country Club” before wealthy families abandoned it in the early years of the revolution. “We were just thrilled to be there,” the diplomat recalled. “The music, the rum, the cigars, the people — and a very important moment for diplomacy.”
Eight months earlier, in March 2016, President Barack Obama had swept into town to commemorate the two countries’ historic rapprochement, vowing to bury “the last remnant of the Cold War in the Americas.” Now, weeks after the election of Donald Trump, that entente was suddenly doubtful. Fidel Castro had just died, opening a new chapter in the Cuban saga. The diplomat could hardly have imagined a more fascinating time to arrive.
As the sun slid into the Florida Straits on that late-November evening, the diplomat folded back the living room doors that opened onto the family’s new tropical garden. The warm night air poured in, along with an almost overpowering din. “It was annoying to the point where you had to go in the house and close all the windows and doors and turn up the TV,” he recalled. “But I never particularly worried about it. I figured, ‘I’m in a strange country, and the insects here make loud noises.’”
A few nights later, the diplomat and his wife invited over the family of another American embassy official who lived next door. Around dusk, as they chatted on the patio, the same deafening sound rose from their yard again.
“I’m pretty sure those are cicadas,” the first diplomat said.
“Those are not cicadas,” his neighbor insisted. “Cicadas don’t sound like that. It's too mechanical-sounding.”
The colleague had been hearing the same noises at home, sometimes for an hour or more at a stretch. After he complained to the embassy housing office, a couple of Cuban maintenance workers were dispatched to look around. They checked for electrical problems and scanned the yard for strange insects, but they left without finding anything out of place. In February, the nightly racket finally began to fade. Then it went away altogether.
It was not until a Friday in late March that the diplomat realized he might be facing something more dangerous than bugs. At work that day, an embassy colleague with whom he was friendly took him aside and said he was leaving Cuba right away. A fit-looking man in his thirties, the colleague said he had just been in Miami, where medical specialists found he had a series of problems including a serious hearing loss. In late December, he said, he had been struck by a strange, disturbing phenomenon — a powerful beam of high-pitched sound that seemed to be pointed right at him. The following Monday, the diplomat’s friend played him a recording of the noise: It sounded a lot like what the diplomat had heard in his backyard.
The diplomat, who agreed to discuss his experience on the condition he not be named, said neither he nor his wife had felt any signs of illness or injury. But within days, they, too, would be on their way to Miami to be examined by medical specialists. Along with 22 other Americans and eight Canadians, they would be diagnosed with a wide array of concussion-like symptoms, ranging from headaches and nausea to hearing loss. They would also find themselves caught up in an extraordinary international dispute, one that the Trump administration would use to sharply reverse the course of U.S. relations with Cuba.
Even in a realm where secrets abound, the Havana incidents are a remarkable mystery. After nearly a year of investigation that has drawn on intelligence, defense and technology expertise from across the U.S. government, the FBI has been unable to determine who might have attacked the diplomats or how. Nor has the bureau ruled out the possibility that at least some of the Americans weren’t attacked at all. Officials who have been briefed on the inquiry described it as having made strikingly little progress in answering the basic questions of the case, with frustrated FBI agents reporting that they are running out of rocks to overturn.
Those frustrations have roiled the U.S. national-security community, putting the FBI increasingly at odds with the CIA over the case. In early January, after more than eight months of analysis, the bureau ruled out its initial hypothesis that the Americans were targeted with some type of sonic device. That left the FBI without a weapon, a perpetrator or a motive, and still struggling to understand how the diplomats could have been hurt or fallen ill. Intelligence officials, for their part, have continued to emphasize a pattern they see as anything but coincidental: The first four Americans to report being struck by the phenomenon — including the fit-looking man in his 30s — were all CIA officers working under diplomatic cover, as were two others affected later on. The CIA and other agencies involved in the investigation also have yet to concur with the FBI’s conclusion about sonic technology.
More broadly, the Cuba problem has raised questions within the national security community about how the Trump administration is using intelligence information to guide its foreign policy. At a time when the White House has vowed to act more forcefully against North Korea, Iran and other threats, some officials see the Cuba problem as yet another lesson in the dangers of using intelligence selectively to advance policy goals. “Trump came in opposing better relations with Cuba,” said one national security official who, like others, would discuss the case only on the condition he not be named. “The administration got out in front of the evidence and intelligence.”

The fact that the “sound” is somewhat like “cicadas” is bothersome to me.
I really don’t know to what extent I have PSI, but a sound similar to this has been bothering me for over 2 yrs. now. I don’t think that I am “tuned into national security issues”, but it’s always possible that I could be a “test subject”. ☹️
Makes me wonder how many other people have recognized this particular sound.

But in the last months of 2016, official Cuban hostility toward the American diplomats in Havana was hovering somewhere near a 50-year low. No serious harassment had been reported for at least a few years, officials said. Most close analysts of Cuba believed the ruling party had forged a solid consensus for ending hostilities with the U.S. Fidel Castro’s last, angry diatribe notwithstanding, U.S. officials told ProPublica that he had been consulted on the rapprochement and given his approval. **********
Russia is also mentioned (Cold War tactics, etc.). Microwaves, anyone? 😖
**********
In my opinion, All the political “mess” involving Russia, our president, the investigative branches of government.... is somehow part of this. I think to be an ambassador for us right now would be very hard. Obviously, electronic harassment can keep people out of a country.

mysteriousuniverse.org/2018/05/the-fbi-begins-investigating-unexplained-mystery-booms/ The FBI Begins Investigating Unexplained Mystery Boomsby Brett Tingley / mysteriousuniverse.org/author/bbtingley/May 25, 2018 One of the most disconcerting developments over the last few years has been the rise in unexplained booms or explosion noises being heard all across the United States. While many theories about their origins have been put forward, to date no definitive cause has been identified. Of course, it could be that many of these mystery booms are unrelated, but the fact is that nearly all of the stories sound identical. What could be causing these anomalous noises? Unknown seismic activity? Hydraulic fracking? Meteorites? Secret tests of classified aerospace technology? Domestic terrorists testing explosives? Who knows? Until a cause is found, these mysterious booming noises remain a total mystery. While coverage and interest in these anomalous sounds seem to have so far been confined to local news outlets and mystery news sites like this one, it seems that these unexplained booms have now attracted the attention in the highest law enforcement agency in the United States: the FBI. On May 22, homes throughout Upper Bucks and Lehigh Counties just north of Philadelphia were rattled by an extremely loud explosion around 4:00 a.m. “It’s a rumble. It actually, like, rumbles the ground like an earthquake would happen but with a loud like boom. I thought that somebody was making a tunnel or space junk fell out of the sky,” said area woman Susan Crompton. There have been multiple reports of similar booms in the area over the last few months, all of which have occurred early in the morning hours. Just like in other recent mystery boom stories, the sounds have been described as “mysterious and near-deafening,” loud enough to shake the ground for miles. CBS News in Philadelphia has confirmed that the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Pennsylvania State Police are now working together to investigate the cause of these anomalous booms. Can the FBI crack the case? Will they reveal the truth to the public if they do? mysteriousuniverse.org/2018/05/the-fbi-begins-investigating-unexplained-mystery-booms/

Mysterious Apocalyptic sounds were once again heard !Slovakia.Martin Mikuaš Published on Mar 1, 2019 An interesting cloud phenomenon in the sky and mysterious apocalyptic sound. dailymysteries.com/2019/03/04... With frequent observations of these sounds, I noticed that this mysterious sound can be heard before or after the bigger earthquake in the world. It probably has a connection from the shifting of the lithospheric plates. What do you think about it? The mysterious sound is probably related to the earthquake in the world. These may be associated with atmospheric changes or low frequency acoustic emissions in the range of 20 and 100 Hz, modulated by ultra-low infrared waves of 0.1-15 Hz. The causes of their occurrence are different: earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, hurricanes, storms, artificial interventions into the atmosphere or the earth's mantle ... Something very strange is going on in recent years in the atmosphere on the planet Whether it comes to aliens, changes in the earth's core or CHEMTRAILS, HAARP? People all around the world take photos of this strange phenomena. Why are they appear and what is the meaning of them? What is going on? Can it affect a human evolution? What do you think about that? Puzzling sounds heard for only 2% of the people and no one knows why Of the world it is coming more and more testimonies to the mysterious sound reminiscent murmur. Over the years, hundreds of cases have been ed this phenomenon of strange that science still can not explain. Eerie sound that people describe as a murmur or humkanie. Witness is extremely unpleasant and some people claim that they could not bear the noise. Describe it differently – as a soft squeal, hum or sound like a circular saw. What is even more puzzling, most people on the planet have never heard of. This is scary humming phenomenon known as taoský New Mexico noise or hum Bristol in southern England. Statistically it hears about 2% of the total local population. Hum is typically heard in the interior and more often at night. According to expert studies on noise Geoff Leventhal, from 2% of people who have haunted sound they hear it is the most aged 55 to 77 years. Some people hear the hum all day, others only occasionally. Different perception of the intensity of the sound. Sometimes it is so strong that directly interfere with normal day affected. It was also recorded cases of suicide due to this mysterious phenomenon. Desperate individuals describe the symptoms that accompany the murmur – headaches, dizziness, nosebleeds and sleep disorders. Some doctors argue that the noise could be a sign of tinnitus, this claim sounds unlikely, however, because the phenomenon is always described only in specific geographic areas. Clear and comprehensive explanation of this phenomenon is still unknown. Currently, scientists are trying to treat people affected by music. A definitive answer to what causes this annoying sound, but still remains a mystery Apocalyptic Sounds and Strange Clouds Return to Slovakia mysteriousuniverse.org/2019/03/apocalyptic-sounds-and-strange-clouds-return-to-slovakia/

mysteriousuniverse.org/2019/03/mystery-booms-continue-as-competing-explanations-surface/ Mystery Booms Continue as Competing Explanations Surfaceby Brett Tingley / mysteriousuniverse.org/author/bbtingley/March 8, 2019 It’s that time again, readers: the weekly mystery boom round up. These unexplained, powerful explosion-like sounds have been shaking the ground around the world with a worrisome increase in frequency lately, and if you ask me, not enough attention is being paid to them. While there are many different possible explanations for these anomalous sounds, the similarities among them are striking and seem to suggest one overriding phenomenon may be occurring. What could be causing these booms, and why are the ‘official’ channels so silent? FBI In my home state of North Carolina, residents of Johnston County have been reaching out to law enforcement for answers about the earth-rattling booms which have been shaking their homes for weeks. This week, one of the booms was so powerful it seemed to disturb the air. “It was a little bit of a weird atmosphere then, boom a loud bang,” said Clayton, North Carolina resident Rocky Hall. “When I mean loud, I mean it took the air out of your chest… it sucked right out of you and then everybody came running out of the houses and stuff.” The Wake County and Johnston County Sheriff’s Offices say their phones have been “ringing off the hook” this week due to the booms, but so far no evidence of their origin has been found. Much farther north, people in southern Idaho have been reportedly hearing and feeling booms for weeks. The booms have been so prevalent that local radio station KEZJ has begun polling residents to see just how widespread this unexplained phenomenon may be. One local professor of geology believes the mysterious “skyquakes” are related to a nearby bombing range, but a spokesperson for the Mountain View Air Force station says the base had no aircraft in the air at the time the “skyquakes” were reported. However, the same spokesperson added that they “could not confirm that a separate military outfit wasn’t responsible for the noise.” Idaho Idaho. How could you not want to visit this place? Just watch out for those skyquakes. This next incident seems to close the case of the mysterious explosions which have plagued neighborhoods in northwest Phoenix, Arizona since last November. In that case, mysterious booms were accompanied in some cases by unexplained flashes of light and even flying debris, two details which seemed to suggest someone was testing improvised explosives. Those suspicions were confirmed this week as Phoenix Police recently arrested Houston Willis, a man they say has been detonating explosives all over town including on the grounds of an elementary school. Last July, the FBI helped arrest the owner of a chemical supply company who had also been detonating homemade explosives throughout Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Are more of these mystery booms being caused by would-be bomb makers? Why are so many people constructing homemade explosives? Given the current sociopolitical climate in the US and the fact that several would-be terrorist plots have already been foiled, these developments are worrisome to say the least. Still, it seems that not all mystery booms can be chalked up to idiots playing with combustible materials. In central Missouri, residents reported a loud boom on the morning of March 4. Columbia Police and Emergency Management officials scrambled to locate the source of the noise before aerospace giant Boeing claimed responsibility. It turns out Boeing was performing a “functional check on a military aircraft” in the area, and while the company’s statement did not include the term “sonic boom,” it’s pretty clear that they broke the sound barrier as part of the test. I’ve suspected for a while now that many of these booms are caused by military aircraft, but this is one of the few times that anyone has actually stepped forward to claim responsibility. Here we are hundreds of cases later with explanations provided in only a few incidents. Are these mystery booms not as related as they seem? Are there more would-be terrorists testing improvised explosive devices throughout the country? Is the military industrial complex testing new aerospace technology in secret? While a few cases have now been closed, the mystery only increases in terms of the hundreds of cases which still remain unsolved. mysteriousuniverse.org/2019/03/mystery-booms-continue-as-competing-explanations-surface/

mysteriousuniverse.org/2019/03/people-are-experiencing-mysterious-hums-and-vibrations-in-michigan/ People Are Experiencing Mysterious Hums and Vibrations in Michiganby Brett Tingley / mysteriousuniverse.org/author/bbtingley/March 26, 2019 The recent spate of anomalous noises heard worldwide continues this month as residents of a small town in Michigan report hearing and even feeling a strange, unexplained hum. The hum or vibration is reportedly strong enough to rattle homes, cause glasses of water to ripple Jurassic Park-style, and even crumble the foundations of homes. What could be causing such a powerful vibration throughout Michigan? Water ripples Hopefully not a wayward Tyrannosaur. For now, there are very few theories as to what could be causing the mysterious vibration which seems to be centered around the township of Canton, just west of the former post-apocalyptic dystopia and current mid-gentrification dystopia of Detroit. The U.S. Geological Survey has verified that there has been no seismic activity in the area which could explain the vibration or hum, leaving city officials in Canton to guess the mysterious tremor and noises could be related to either utilities, a nearby landfill, or even traffic on local highway I-275. However, Canton residents don’t buy any of those explanations and say the mysterious vibration sounds different from usual industrial noises and has been increasing in frequency and prevalence lately. Canton The Canton township municipal complex which includes town hall. Longtime Canton resident Mackey Howell says in his twenty years in the township, he’s heard and felt the vibrations from local transportation arteries for years but this latest hum somehow seems different: I’m familiar with all those sounds – the airport, the train, and (the sound) I-275 makes – this is something is very different. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced it during the daytime. Its disturbing. We’ve had pictures actually fall off the wall. The hum has been reported since the 1970s, but many Canton residents agree with Howell that this latest iteration is anomalous and seems to be getting louder in recent weeks. Some people have even reported feeling pressure changes in their inner ears at the same time they hear and feel the mysterious vibration. Oddly enough, some North Carolina residents reported the same sensation in conjunction with good ol’ fashioned mystery booms in the area just a few weeks prior. I’ve been tracking and researching these anomalous, Earth-rattling noises for over two years now, and like city officials and public safety agencies everywhere, I’m at a complete loss to explain what forces or phenomena may be behind these events. Are these unknown natural occurrences, or are they caused by some man made activity? Reports of anomalous noises and mysterious booms date back centuries, but the unbelievably high number of reports lately suggests either that the phenomenon is increasing or intensity or that a new cause is afoot. What’s behind all of these anomalous noises? Is the Canton hum related in any way to more well-known hums like the Taos hum or Windsor hum? Stay tuned. mysteriousuniverse.org/2019/03/people-are-experiencing-mysterious-hums-and-vibrations-in-michigan/
