Oh yeah And a famous excerpt of McKenna's is something like, The problem with the UFO guys is they don't have repeatability. They can't prove that any of their claims exist. I can, and encourage anyone with a desire and ten spare minutes to do so. You want aliens? Well, they will be there with the right dose, guaranteed. The thing about McKenna, and others who worked with "dmt", is the effort they expended trying to find the "right dose". ----- "The drug itself, 4-ethyl-2,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine, is, as the article indicates, highly "dose sensitive" and can produce the following behaviors and side-effects noted in the article: General change in consciousness (as with most psychoactives) Pupil dilation Visual patterning, closed and open eye visuals Confusion, difficulty concentrating, and/or scrambled thoughts Change in perception of time Slight increase in body temperature Slight increase in heart rate Muscle tension and aching Jaw tension Increased perspiration Gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea and vomiting Dizziness, confusion Over-awareness & over-sensitization to music and noise Paranoia, fear Unwanted life-changing spiritual experiences Possible difficulty integrating experiences Emphases added) ------

Over-awareness & over-sensitization to music and noise
(I haven't always had this. I can say this "sensitivity" has gotten stronger and stronger over the last 10 yrs. I don't know why- no exposure to dmt that I am aware of).

I'm a lot more sensitive to things than I used to be. I never cried as a child..now days..I'm pretty hyper-sensitive, particularly e to things like animal or child abuse. A beautiful sunset..any time I pray..loud noise..but not pain..I seem to have a better tolerance for that. So..emotions..I'm way more emotional than I used to be and I think that's just attrition via life...being more compassionate..finding the world a very troubling place right now. And lately I feel like everything is rubbing my very last nerve LOL. I tend to minimize what I feel for those around me since I'm always the one they look to for their stability..if only they knew.. I've found a lot of help lately in binaural meditation. Sort of unwinding...stuff.

Rubbing my last nerve . . Yes this is what this "oversensitive to noise" (good, bad, or daily noise) feels like. But then again, I've had a lot of headaches lately, so the tv on constantly, or someone on the phone, is like a constant background chatter. And I've noticed that neither of my ears are ringing lately (?). We had relatives staying with us for 5 days over the 4th of July holiday, and it was very pleasant. We played cards every day and the tv was rarely on- it was so refreshing! I could even stand to stay outside for part of the neighborhood fireworks! So for me, it literally is the noise. Of course my emotions have gotten stronger too. Thats why I have some pretty good ear plugs always handy, so that I'm not going "off" all the time about wanting some peace and quiet. Lol.

I've had a run of headaches lately...I try to chalk it up to sinus'/allergies..tis the season, but at times it feels like this huge 'clog' in my brain that needs some draino. May sound stupid but that's how it feels..and it may be I'm not listening to something..shrug.
