Lee Speigel / Writer, Editor, The Huffington Post 05/02/2016 Destination America ‘Ghost Brothers’ Marcus Harvey (left), Dalen Spratt, (middle) and Juwan Mass (right) are TV’s first African-American paranormal investigation team. American television viewing audiences can’t seem to get enough of shows where teams of paranormal investigators charge up their flashlights, audio recording devices, ghost meter sensors, electromagnetic field radiation equipment, digital spirit voice detectors and, well, you get the idea. Ahead of the long-awaited reboot of 1984’s original smash hit, “Ghostbusters,” arriving in theaters this summer, the art, seriousness, humor and, sometimes, terror of ghost hunting has just stepped up a notch with a new TV series, “Ghost Brothers.” Yes, “Ghost Brothers,” as in TV’s first African-American paranormal investigation team. Destination America has brought together two fashion designers and a barber, three best friends Dalen Spratt, Juwan Mass and Marcus Harvey — all raised in religious households — who were brought up believing that messing with the dead is dangerous. “For years, I used to watch all the ghost hunting shows, all the horror movies — just everything,” says Spratt. “I just loved being frightened, but I always noticed that there wasn’t a representation of us on any of these shows. There were no black people doing any of these ghost investigations,” Spratt told The Huffington Post. The possible big-screen exception to that lack of black spirit hunters could very well have been actor Ernie Hudson, who portrayed fictional character Winston Zeddmore in the two original “Ghostbusters” films. But those guys were just characters in a movie. These “Ghost Brothers” are actually trying to find ghosts. The most recent episode took the brothers to an Ohio mansion to investigate reports of unsettled spirits lingering in the property barn, as shown in the following episode clip: CONTINUE READING: www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/ghost-brothers-spirit-hunters_us_572274cee4b0b49df6aac447?utm_hp_ref=weird-news

I do know my great grandmother could call a ghost and they would appear. My Mom and her sisters and my grandmother witnessed it many times. How she did it was with music but there had to be more than that. She was a very Psychic woman .. when a ghost would appear, sometimes it looked to be in the flesh. I have no idea why. She was born with 8 siblings .. her Mother died of typhoid fever and all 8 siblings died along with her Mother. She was 13 at the time. Lived on a southern plantations. Grew up with African Americans but they were not slaves. Only workers. I thought once "did she deal with voo doo at all" She lived to be 97 or there about's. She never was feeble minded in the end but very alert in everything around her. It was not harmless ghost all the time she got evil ghost as well. She knew how to deal with them also and they left abruptly when she ordered them to leave. Something draws them. I do know she never did this with others to see. Only family. One of Moms sisters was very psychic.

Ooooh!! I wish I could have met your grandmother, Lois. She could call up some ghosts for me any time. What kind of music did she use? Will just any kind of music work or doe sit have to be a certain type? I don't think the theme from ghostbusters will bring the ghsots running but maybe some other kind will. I never thought of that. I need to learn to make some ghost music.

Oh yeah...the black ghosthunter dudes were kind of cool but why didn't they dig up the dead body? If I had a dog that could find dead ghost bodies I sure as heck would dig them up. They just left it there and din't even look. Of course it might have just been a mouse or a skunk or something. Dogs bark and growl at all kinds of stuff when they are sneaking around in old barns. I hope I get a chance to watch this show some more.

I need to learn to make some ghost music. Casper. It was a organ she played . right out of Phantom of the Opera. She was born in 1841. So hard telling how old it was. It was given to a granddaughter. When the granddaughter passed which was my Mothers cousin my sister got it. The whole entire organ was carved in scroll design. I seen it and I heard it play when I was in high school. Sound like something moaning to me. It was probably way out of tune when I heard it. Gee I wish some one had taken a photo of it. My family never wanted anything to do with it. We all thought it was evil in some way. Now my older sister did see ghost while she had it. but she did not play the organ. There was something about 3:00 am . She would wake up and hear noises downstairs.Once she went down to investigate. She could hear the rocker in the living room rocking. She said once she seen a figure sitting in it and it vanished soon as she walked into the living room Funny that old organ sat two feet from that rocker. On my great grandmothers grave it says. "she has gone to the spirit world" I mean she was in deep with all this.. Since our house had Ghost when I was growing up we all thought she had something to do with it. I mean this ghost crap we may of Inherited through generations. I think the psychic stuff was handed down. About five years ago my sisters son took this organ out in the country where he and another guy lived. One night when they came into town the house caught on fire. The organ went up in smoke . The fire department could not find one single reason for the fire. I don't think that organ like it out there. All my other brothers and sister said. "Well good it is gone" When I lived at home and ufos made contact with my mind. Everyone was saying it was a demon and my great grandmothers fault. Don't get me wrong my great GrandMother never missed church . Read her bible til she passed. Prayed before every meal. My Mother told me a lot about her. My Mother was in her 30s when her grandmother passed away and grew up with her living next door. A very strange thing about her which is many things but this one stands out above all rest. When she prayed it was not in her own voice but it was like a man's voice. When prayer was over she talked normal again. Now what in the world was that all about?

maybe the organ was haunted. I need to get me a haunted organ. They sound spooky. That's why they always play them in the old horror movies.

It could of been given to her. the sound was completely different than our church organ. One like it would be hard to fine. Yes they do use them in old haunted house movies. Never cross my mind.

I wish I new the tune she played or is it was just any old southern song. Those songs were folk music. I cannot believe she was playing church music. I'm sure it was something beautiful. I thought maybe what ever it was she played had to be a certain tune
