Trump signs bill authorizing NASA funding, Mars explorationby Bob Brenzing March 21, 2017
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump has signed into law a bill that adds exploration of Mars as a NASA goal.
The new law also authorizes $19.5 billion in space agency funding for the 2017 budget year, which began Oct. 1. Trump recently sent Congress a budget proposal that authorizes $19.1 billion for the space agency next year.
The measure amends current law to add human exploration of Mars as one of NASA’s objectives. It also directs NASA to manage human space flight programs to help humans explore Mars and other destinations.
Trump signed the bill Tuesday in the Oval Office surrounded by astronauts and bill sponsors, including Sens. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Marco Rubio, R-Fla. Both senators challenged Trump during the presidential campaign.

I'm assuming that this is positive news. 🙂
A "peace offering" to the scientific community. In the 3rd month.
Humans on Mars someday (sooner than thought?). What about the people who insist that they have already been there?

well I guess you'd have to have proof before establishing any claim. Course some people say they've visited many of the planets..and other places too. Can't remember the book but some woman in touch with her angels asked to see the most beautiful place in the universe..she couldn't describe it. Impossible to say these people are lying or wrong..when I already know there is so much more out there. It will be awhile before anyone colonizes Mars. Have to get past radiation issues first..among other set backs. So..about Trump.
A young girl 10 I think..designed a web site about kittens and Trump. You could go push a button and a kitten paw would sock Trump in the kisser. Mind you not even scratching. Guess who got a letter from Trumps lawyers..cease and desist. So..she renamed it and it continues. I figure she could sell the letter on ebay and have college tuition.

Hmmmmm. Trump may be on the web more than most of his ilk (social media), but DOES sound like he has "spies". ?
Seems like a long time ago now, but I can remember saying that "Trump will do just fine with good advisors" 😉. Not if they're the type to inspire kitten paranoia. 🙄
Hmmmmm. I "listen" so little that I have no idea about the "first pet"...... is there one?
Not that I don't believe you, but you probably should have posted THAT one .......
******* Back to the subject, I wonder who advised him that he should keep up the NASA funding? 😀

fox17online.com/2017/03/21/trump-signs-bill-authorizing-nasa-funding-mars-exploration/ What a poor report. 19.8 billion? Is that a budget increase? A decrease? Same? Shaking my head. Never trust Fox for news, never give information. Steven

Their budget for 2016 was 19.3 billion so this new one is a slight increase.

And its animated too, through inference. How did she get the idea that Trump is a bad guy? Maybe her Democrat school teachers? What part of that story sounds like a ten year old girl? My nephew, 5years old, which I got started doing computers (1985) and taught him C programming could not make a animated website without additional training at 10. And where is the story or is this just more fake TV/HollyqueerWood (as the area is known locally) Democrat news? MSNBC or Clinton-Network-News? I voted for Trump, but he needs to shut his big mouth, start using his brain and act like an adult....I'm gonna give him a chance to do better. And just like anyone in a new job, seems everyone goes through the new-job-blender and so is he. Some handle it better than others. Pr Trump needs to settle down and stop trying to run that greedy, corrupt pig-stye excuse for US Government as though it is **HIS** corporation. He's got a learning-curve and needs to adapt else he'll go down in history as the worst US President and rightfully so. But, give us break, a 10 yr? Story sounds a lot like BS. Oh don't get me wrong, the story might actually be true, but it doesn't seem like a 10yr did it **all by herself**.

Never trust Fox for news, never give information. Steven Hi Steve, Its not just Fox. At least here in California, there is no National News that is trustworthy, in my opinion. The best news that was on TV was broadcast from Saudi Arabia, Aljizeera News was excellent, but it went off the air. Now the only other news that seems to have any quality is broadcast from MOSCOW!!! All the news in the US is biased propaganda BS news. MSNBC is biased Democrat, CNN is biased Democrat, Fox is biased Republican, the local news papers in Los Angeles are Democrat and support illegal Mexicans. California Government officials are aiding and bedding illegal aliens in violation of US Federal laws!! And where's the newspapers pointing out that that action is a direct violation of the law and is a criminal act in of itself? Why isn't anyone arresting the California Government officials? If you or I were to do A&B during a commission of a crime, we'd go to jail. Americans are so stupid its incredible. plutronus

sigh..Plutronus you're such a bully. However..my bad...she wasn't 10 she was 17 and who cares if she did it alone or had the help of her entire class...it was the point. The thing (link below) was cute..and your man in the White House didn't agree. I did give the guy a chance but the entitled, spoiled rotten, bully-ish, tantrum-ish personality isn't the making of a fine president. I grant you if pointed in the right direction his brilliant lil brain could do some great things (sort of like Voldemort) terrible but great things..but the cost..we might not want to pay. A shred of tact, of compassion and a willingness to play nice with our powerful (possibly militant) neighbors might be a good thing too. On the other hand....I do NOT think Hillary would have been the better option and the vice president no better..he's weak in all the wrong places...and lets face it..a lot of people wanted Hillary just to put a woman in the white house. I suspect his mouth will get him impeached or in a tantrum he'll resign..hopefully taking his daughter with him because I do NOT agree with her having an office in the white house..or did you elect her too? Ok she is an improvement over his looks..BUT really? The White House to market her clothing line....OR control 'himself'. You have to admit..that does not fit well. Well you don't have to but you should.
To be honest my dislike of him came way before the election..I watched his reality show. He's a ruthless businessman but I think the world kind of needs a hair more. At least when he goes down in flames I'll know where to stick the 'kick me I voted for Trump' sign' www.nydailynews.com/life-style/trump-lawyers-targeted-teenage-girl-kitten-website-article-1.3005407

Media is under fire for not giving Trump a 'break'. Frankly he's doing a bang up job of lynching himself...he doesn't need help

Colonel Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon, was there to witness the event. He tried to liven the room with a Buzz Lightyear quip, only to have Trump crash and burn on the landing pad. As you can see in the White House video, the exchange happens right as Trump is about to sit down to sign the executive order, which will put Vice President Mike Pence in charge of advising the president on space exploration. It’s a little hard to make out what Trump says right as he opens up the folder containing the E.O. (and the White House transcript left those words out), but it sounded like, “We know what this is, space. That’s all it has to say, space.” Then, to Aldrin, he joked, “There’s a lot of room out there, right?” Then, this happens.
Buzz Aldrin: Infinity and beyond. (Laughter)
Donald Trump: This is infinity here. It could be infinity. We don’t really don’t know. But it could be. It has to be something, but it could be infinity, right? It starts around 10 minutes in, if you want to watch the latest reminder that this man is President of the United States for yourself. This raises so many questions. Has Trump ever seen Toy Story? I mean, he clearly knows what Pixar is— in January, he screened Finding Dory in the White House while protests against the travel ban raged outside. Is he not aware of one of the most famous catchphrases of the 1990s... and beyond? I’d argue it’s just as famous, if not more so, than “You’re fired.” And, perhaps most importantly, does Trump know anything about space, beyond it simply being “space”? I’m thinking maybe he needs to sit down and get a tutorial from Neil deGrasse Tyson... although I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t return Trump’s calls. In short, Aldrin is all of us right now.
