www.phantomsandmonsters.com/2019/01/scary-unexplained-encounters.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed:+PhantomsAndMonstersAPersonalJourney+(Phantoms+and+Monsters)Tuesday, January 08, 2019 Scary Unexplained EncountersPosted by Lon Strickler / plus.google.com/+LonStrickler Scary Unexplained Encounters I received the following accounts over the past few months: When I was 20 a friend took me to one of those rumored semi local "lights that appear" on a road out in nowhere. This was in Rensselaer, Indiana. We pulled up in my friend's truck. There's one house on this mile long road. I'm in the back seat and his girlfriend is in the front. We park under this tree, like the story says and immediately the light appears. I'm floored but my friend isn't having it. He's ready to leave and I'm just getting started. I open the door and step out. I get on the side of the truck and we test the light by driving with the headlights off. Surprisingly, the results are all over the place. The light will shift from one side of the street to the other; occasionally changing color. Sometimes it seems the light is getting closer...sometimes it seems to be moving away, and occasionally it turns off completely, but the only constant is to park under the tree. Then it comes right back. I can tell you that the light, at times seemed to be only 100 feet or 30 meters away. So I get cocky and take off at a full sprint at it. My friend is in full panic mode. He's terrified. I'm going as fast as I can on the gravel road. There's a deep ditch on both sides and a patch of woods coming up on my right. I'm running uphill and the light is about 50 feet in front of me. It's white with yellow and blue; too bright to see who's holding it or where its coming from. I'm starting to get a little panicked because I can hear my friend's girlfriend behind me screaming my name. The light jets into the woods as I approach. Not at all like it's being carried but more like on a line. I jump the ditch and barrel into the woods. The trees are thin but thick enough together that I can't see the source. Just light everywhere. The woods are bright and lit up. I stop for a moment to take a breath as my friend's girlfriend gets to me. She's freaking out and we start arguing about why she's following me when I'm running towards the light and the light turns off. Suddenly I find myself in the middle of these woods with no light. There's no cell phones back then. It's very quiet and that's when I realized I was at the complete mercy of whatever was out there. We both just stood frozen in terror for minutes listening for anything. She broke first with a terrifying scream and I took off running. She was right behind me. We ran down that road laughing and scared back to the truck. DP ********** When I was around 14 years old, my mother (an unmedicated schizophrenic) decided the voices in her head were spirits, so she bought a bunch of books and started experimenting with the occult. This resulted in a lot of activity in the home, all of which was terrifying to me. The worst of it started with a month of sleepless nights, feeling like something was in my closet watching me. It escalated over about a week as the black figure started coming out of the closet and would run at my bed, which would send me running out of the room screaming in terror. The final night of this ordeal I had a really horrible nightmare about this figure choking me as I lay in bed, and as I woke up coughing and sputtering, the room was hot like a sauna and all I could smell was hot garbage and vomit and the vibe of the room was far too still. I felt sluggish and nauseous and it was enough for me that I asked to move my bedroom to another room in the house after that, and I don't think I even went back in that room before I moved out at 21. I'm 33 now and even remembering this event scares me and makes me a bit nauseous. I didn't know much about the paranormal at that age but now that I'm older I realize that was quite likely a demon! SC ********** I have a few encounters that were rather terrifying to me. The first encounter happened when I was about 13 (I'm currently 20). I was laying restless in bed at around 12ish a.m. That's when I heard footsteps on our deck just outside my room. I froze in place. It couldn't have been a deer because I didn't hear any hooves. Not a bear because it was the middle of winter. And a few seconds after the footsteps stopped I heard this super close growl. Like a big animal growl. It sounded as though it was inside of my room, directly in front of my face. I ran out into the living room, and didn't go back into my room for a while. The next encounter, I was about 17 at the time and I just got out of the shower when I felt something stinging on my side. I checked to see what it was and there were three thin scratches on my side that immediately began to welt. Like they were just inflicted as soon as I looked. I wasn't sleeping well for a while after that. The last encounter wasn't long after the scratches healed. I was in bed, restless because I was too paranoid that something was gonna show up. I close my eyes and hear voices coming from the corner of my room opposite from me. I open my eyes and I see this semi-translucent pale white humanoid thing huddled up in the corner of my room, its back facing me. I got up and charged at it (I wasn't really controlling myself, probably the adrenaline). As I ran into the wall the apparition disappeared. I ran out into the living room and didn't return to my room for a while. mysteriousuniverse.org/2019/01/paranormal-encounters-along-the-appalachian-trail/Paranormal Encounters along the Appalachian Trailby Brent Swancer / January 15, 2019 Sprawled out across a vast swath of eastern North America, spanning 1,500 mi (2,400 km) from the island of Newfoundland all the way down to central Alabama, the Appalachian Mountains, also called just the Appalachians, is one of the great mountain ranges of the continent. Formed over 480 million years ago, the Appalachians are also among the oldest mountains in North America, with their now relatively modest average height of 3,000 ft (910 m) once soaring to jagged heights to rival those of the Rocky Mountains before the countless eons tirelessly wore them down to their present size. Meandering through this wilderness is the Appalachian Trail, which at a total of 2,200 miles (3,500 km) long is the longest hiking-only trail in the world, passing through 14 states: Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, with an extension called the International Appalachian Trail continuing northeast, crossing Maine, cutting through Canada to Newfoundland, and with sections continuing in Greenland, through Europe, and into Morocco. Among the millions of people who hike this trail every year there are sometimes tales of the bizarre and the paranormal, and here are some of the stranger of these, as well as several haunted places along the longest trail in the world. A very bizarre report comes from the site Blue Ridge Outdoors, and is told by a witness named Brad Lane. The odd experience supposedly happened in the summer of 2011, when he was out backpacking alone along the trail near Catawba about 15 miles from New Castle, Virginia, camping out along the way. Over the course of these lonely nights, he claims that on several occasions he was kept awake by what sounded like footsteps crunching about outside, as well as what he describes as the “grumble” of a voice talking to itself. He convinced himself that it was all just his ears playing tricks on him, but on another evening he saw something that would disturb him. He says: I managed to collect a fair amount of firewood and by the time nightfall came I had a small fire going with a good collection of fire-wood piled beneath me. Under the reassuring light of the campfire, I started to become more at ease with the deafening silence of nature. I pulled a cigarette from my pocket and enjoyed a casual smoke as I put my feet up. When I tried to ditch the butt in my weakening flame, my throw was off and I landed it outside of the ashes. I got up to fix my mistake and to stoke the fire when I turned around to go back to my seat and I saw him… The light was low with my little fire, but I could clearly see a man reaching down with a scorched hand for my firewood. He wore red plaid with large black burns tearing at his trim and a red ashy beard that smoldered at this face. He quickly looked up and his vacant white eyes connected with mine. He gritted his teeth and scrunched his nose towards me before quickly leaving the ring of firelight. I was shocked. I have never experienced a fear like it. I fell right onto my butt next to the flames. I looked out into the forest and saw nothing but dark shadows and unclear objects, a blank wall of nothing, of everything; I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t even yell, with no one to hear me but him, so I did what every red-blooded American would do; I packed up my things and got the hell out of Dodge. He kept on until dawn, continuing on his rush to get out of there for hours before he grew tired and stopped for a moment. He did not seek sleep, but sleep found him. He would awaken 3 hours later, when his journey of the bizarre would continue. He says: I awoke two to the three hours later, for the sun had dropped down considerably, and a funny smell filled my nostrils. I blinked a few times and when the funny smell persisted I shot off my back with my heart beating to the sound of something troubling. What I saw was my tent, or what remained of my tent. For now the only thing left standing was the tent poles that dripped with oozing leftovers of my tent body. A bubbly layer of melted green plastic lay beneath the poles with a steady gray smoke still rising from the mess. I got up and felt the weight of the sky fall on my head. For a moment I was sure I had woken up into a horrible nightmare. Without contemplating it much further I grabbed my water bottle and ran through the empty pasture. By the time I made it to the gravel road I was out of breath and dripping with sweat. I hastily chugged from my water bottle and wiped my mouth. Down the road I could see a vehicle parked in the dust. I staggered forward with my hands on my sides and soon realized it was a sheriff’s sedan, and for the first time in a long time, I couldn’t have been happier to see a law enforcement vehicle. When I got closer to the vehicle I noticed that it was parked outside of the remains of a charred house, nothing left standing but the mailbox out front. On the way into town I didn’t tell the officer about my experience being afraid that he might think I escaped from the loony bin and instead asked him about the burnt down house he had been parked in front of. The sheriff explained to me that four days prior, the same day I started my trip, the house had burnt down. They had no known cause but there was indication of arson. Two daughters, a wife, and her husband where all in the house when the fire started and none of them made it out. Real tragic stuff the sheriff said as he retold the story and I could only shake my head with my bottom jaw hanging low. mysteriousuniverse.org/2019/02/spooky-paranormal-encounters-in-cornfields/ Spooky Paranormal Encounters in Cornfieldsby Brent Swancer / mysteriousuniverse.org/author/brentswancer/February 16, 2019 There are a lot of locations in the world that seem to be perfect for strange encounters and ghostly phenomena. Dark, remote wildernesses? Check. Decrepit old buildings? Check. Abandoned, rotting structures? Check. Another that could probably be included in this list is the innately creepy cornfield. Here rows upon rows of tall stalks stretch out into the distance, concealing what hides inside. While looking out at these somewhat unsettling places one can easily imagine seeing the corn move, something cutting a swath though it, something mysterious, unseen, and perhaps horrible. This is not just a scenario for movies, as there have been plenty of accounts of encountering very bizarre entities, monsters, and apparitions in cornfields, which make them every bit as creepy and unsettling as anything you can imagine. Many of the accounts we will look at here are difficult to classify, making it murky as to whether we are dealing with mystery monsters, ghosts, demons, or what. A very creepy encounter was reported on ThoughtCo. and is told by a witness named Frank Semko, who says he once worked at a rural cheese factory in the state of Minnesota that stood right up against a vast sea of corn. In the summer of 2004, he says that he was on a break on a night shift, looking out over the forlorn cornfield and watching bats flit about when something very unearthly caught his eye. He says of the surreal sequence of events that would follow: As I was watching the bats, I looked down at the edge of the cornfield. Something was moving there. It was the size of a small child and very, very skinny. Pale, with something that looked like a head of straight, black hair. It moved in a sort of jerky gait, like someone dancing “the robot” badly. It moved in chunks: legs, then hips, then torso, shoulders, neck and finally head. It was looking back into the cornfield, or at least I felt like it was. I felt prickly all over. I didn’t know what it was. I thought it was a heron or something at first, but it looked too much like a person. It didn’t move like a person, though. Gradually, step by step, it moved toward me.
Letting my curiosity better my fear, I moved toward the edge of the dock, which was raised a few feet off the ground. When I got within a few feet of the edge, the thing looked at me. I was paralyzed. I could have run, but I was stuck somewhere between terrified and intrigued. It moved, its “face” still pointed at me. It ratcheted its body in that disconcerting, jerky movement toward the cornfield and went into it. I tried to watch where the field moved as it passed, but the corn remained perfectly still. I noticed that all the crickets were silent. After a few minutes, nothing happened. I stood out there for an hour, but it never came back. I never saw it again. What sort of creature was this? We’ll probably never know. In another case we have a witness named Jennifer Lozano, who had her own bizarre experience at a cornfield in the state of Indiana, where at the time she says she lived with her mother and step father at the top of a small hill out in the middle of nowhere overlooking “acres and acres of cornfield and woods.” She claims that one day she went out exploring the area and walked some distance out along the silent cornfield where it bumped up against and kissed the woods. This was when something very strange would make its presence known. She says: I was walking back and I caught a fast flash of something all black move behind a tree in the woods. I stopped and looked and at first I didn’t see anything so I began walking again but after a few steps I seen it again and this time it didn’t hide. What I saw that day was not only unexplainable it was pure evil in a form. It stood there looking at me and it’s head and neck hung to the side in a very abnormal way as if it was broken. It stood about 4 ft tall and its arms were very long and hung all the way to the ground. It looked as if it’s entire body was burned or very thick like skin and it had no hair or ears on its head. Then I noticed that steam was rolling off this thing like crazy and it then let out this loud scream that scared me so badly I began to run full speed through the field towards the house. I felt as if my heart was gonna beat outta my chest and I could hear the leaves crunching as this thing was definitely coming after me.
I had about a million things going through my mind at this point and I was wondering what would happen to me if this thing does catch up with me. I gave a quick glance back and I seen it closer than it had been and gaining speed as it was using its long arms to help it run kinda like a gorilla would. All this time its also letting out this gurgling sort of scream that I cant really explain. Finally I reached the house and began to tell my mother what had happened and I hadn’t even finished when we both heard something pounding on the outside of the house. We both began to scream and cry and it sounded as if it was going to beat the walls down.
After an hour of tormenting us this thing just stopped and when my dad got home my mom and I told him what happened. I was sure he would never believe us but to my complete surprise he went and got some other people and his hunting rifle and went looking for the creature. Of course they never caught it and after a year went by my dad and I were outside one night talking and it came up in our conversation. He told me that the reason he knew we were telling the truth was because two nights before that he was burning some leaves out back and he saw it standing in the middle of the field and heard it screaming like a banshee. I will never know what that thing was but around the same time that year there were at least 7 different reports of a ‘thing’ in the woods. What in the world? It is curious that a similar creature was reported as being seen by others at the same time on many occasions, and one wonders just what that otherworldly thing could have possibly been. From the state of Illinois comes the account of a witness who says that her own encounter happened while driving with her husband along a lonely rural road in central Illinois that passed right through an expanse of cornfields on both sides. It was described as a clear summer evening, and as the stalks blurred by them in a hypnotic cycle something would give them quite a jolt. She says: Something ran across the road in front of me. It was about the size of a toddler, but it looked like a skeleton, or so skinny, it’s limbs were about the size of a skeleton. It was also bone-white and very fast. I have been thru college; I have a bachelor of science, and have taken biology classes as well as zoology. That creature was something I’ve never seen before. My husband looked ahead just as it left the road and said he just saw something, but couldn’t describe it.”What could this bizarre creature have been? Was it some sort of alien, and unidentified animal, or what? Also defying any easy category is a report from 2018 in Knox County, in the state of Ohio, at a location described as being just a few miles from the historic Mount Vernon, known as the plantation of the first president, George Washington. According to a report by Ron McGlone, with the Mutual UFO Network, there was an account from July 31, 2018, in which a motorist was driving along a highway going along a cornfield when something vaguely humanoid came bursting out of the cornstalks to lope across the road and disappear into the corn on the other side at “a tremendous burst of speed. Although it happened very fast, the witness said it was seen quite clearly, and that it was a bipedal, hairless brown-skinned creature standing around 7 to 8 feet in height, with a “tall slender body, arms and legs small in diameter, hands and feet looked oversized for its body proportion, small neck with oval elongated head.” McGlone says he spoke directly with the anonymous witness and even went to investigate the secret location of the sighting but could find no evidence of the creature. Again, what could this thing have possibly been? Another sighting from Ohio, this time from Washington County, near the town of Churchtown, was given by a witness who says the encounter happened in July of 1984, when he was 17 years old. He explains that he had gone to see a fireworks festival at the nearby town of Beverly, and on his way back the rugged backroad took him through a swath of darkened cornfield and he says: As I drove about 15 mph along these back roads, I rounded a slight turn where the banks on either side rose about six feet. On both sides of the road were fence and cornfields. Then, on the left side of the road behind the fence was a large hair covered, gray or white colored figure standing by the fence line. I was stunned and didn’t say a word and just kept driving along slowly looking at this thing. As I went by it just looked at me. I didn’t have a clue what to do.One wonders if this is a case of perhaps a white Bigfoot lurking in the cornfield, which sounds pretty far out but wouldn’t be the last time this has happened. According to Cryptozoology News, in 1997 there was a similar report from near the town of Belvidere, in Franklin County, Tennessee. The witness, known only as “Cary,” says his sister and cousin were out at the time testing out the sister’s new car at night along a road surrounded by dim, swaying cornfields when a massive, white hair covered creature with a cone-shaped head stepped out of the corn. He says: The car had bright lights on and they were able to see this creature crossing the road and into the darkness beyond the fence. Both came home talking fast and looked scared. My younger cousin kept saying they had seen a monster. This same witness also claimed that his brother had an encounter with perhaps the same creature just a few days later in the woods nearby. This certainly seems like a Bigfoot in nature, although why it was hanging around in a cornfield is anyone’s guess. On the site 99wfmk there is also an account from Winn, Michigan, along a lonely dirt stretch of a lane called W. Coe Road, which meanders through large stretches of cornfields. In 2003, an unidentified truck driver says he was driving down the road at 2 in the afternoon on a clear day when a beastly creature described as “unexplainable, dark, dirty, manlike,” came crashing out of the cornstalks to stand there and stare at him as he drove by. Interestingly, some locals have also claimed to have seen something large and hairy moving through the corn in that area from time to time. Again, I feel so very protected 🤗.
I grew up in the best of both worlds. City living (mostly suburbia) during the school year, with weekends and summers spent in the country.
I literally can’t recall anything “paranormal” or scary about my times in the country.
Yeah, we had things happen.... I can recall that there may be SHOULD HAVE BEEN creepy feelings in certain circumstances, but have a hard time thinking of specifics.....
Seeing a cornfield..... just inspires feelings of hard work 😉

mysteriousuniverse.org/2019/02/very-weird-encounters-with-creatures-from-beyond-the-strange/ Very Weird Encounters with Creatures From Beyond the Strangeby Brent Swancer / mysteriousuniverse.org/author/brentswancer/February 20, 2019 Within the world of cryptozoology and the paranormal there are very often strange accounts of creatures and entities that cannot be easily explained. They tease us and defy us with their otherworldliness, unable to be rationalized and doomed to wander the domain of speculation, mystery, and myth. Yet even among this world of the weird there are particular cases that stand out as even more bizarre, swirling about in some shadow universe that lies out beyond the anomalies and oddness that we know of. Such cases truly stand out as baffling, describing creatures that seem to have no business being in this reality at all, often spotted only once before disappearing forever, and which seem to defy all attempts to classify. Such cases are the crème de la crème of the weird, and here are some of the weirdest. Our first oddity comes from Madison County, Illinois, at the city of St. Jacob, where a witness claims to have encountered what can only be described as some sort of gigantic insect. The anonymous witness said on Cryptozoology News that he had been driving along the highway at around 3 AM when something out of this world had lumbered into the ambiance of his headlights. The terrified witness said that he had pumped his brakes at the site, and described it as being a 7-foot-tall stick insect. He describes it as follows: An object appeared in my headlights on the right side, crossing the highway, looking like a giant walking stick with four legs. Its head turned as it ran and looked at me just before going out of lighted view. It was red wood and moved in approximately one second or less across the whole lighted area of my headlights. When it turned to me, it had no face. Was this an insect or something else? If it was some sort of insect how could it possibly be so enormous? Drivers seem to come across a lot of weirdness while traversing nighttime roads. In another case, a man from Jefferson City, Missouri claims that in 2012 he had been driving from Colorado to South Dakota when he came across something rather odd in the vicinity of Lusk, Wyoming. As the night flickered by, a creature described as being a cross between a rabbit and a dog, with wavy white fur and measuring around 4 feet long. The witness says: I was going from Colorado Springs to Rapid City. It was about 1 a.m. when I came over a small hill on Highway 85 just north of Lusk, Wyoming. As I came over the hill, saw a creature in my headlights that looked like an over sized white rabbit. As I came over the hill at high speed, it was right in front of me in the road. I swerved right, and it hopped left, but I still clipped it. Slammed on the brakes and reversed to look for it, but did not see it anywhere. It looked like a dog-rabbit cross, although its face was more canine that rabbit looking. It had very big dark eyes and big ears. It hopped like a rabbit with its huge hind feet, but much slower. What in the world was this thing? Continuing road oddities is another case reported to Cryptozoology News by a taxi cab dispatcher named Edgar Zayas, who on the evening June 3, 2018 says one of his drivers had been driving a passenger home and had his bizarre encounter as he had been driving through Elizabethton, Tennessee. He says that this driver had not seen the creature, but that the passenger had witnessed a “kangaroo-like” creature running along on its hind legs, and the report says of the incident: The female passenger in his cab asked upon passing the spot where the car had swerved if my driver had seen “it”. When he told her he had not, she described the creature as something about 2 feet tall, running at a high rate of speed across the road on only its hind legs, and had the overall body shape of a Kangaroo. She said the creature was running towards the woods. To the best of my knowledge and research, this is the first sighting of anything like this in or around this area of Tennessee. There have, however, been other sightings of other cryptids ranging from the Birdman of Hampton to the Tennessee Wildman, and even several possible Sasquatch sightings, including a possible winged Bigfoot encounter.A weird report from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) was given by a rather reliable witness, in this case a police officer in the small town of Mercerville, New Jersey. The unidentified officer claimed that he had been off duty and sitting on his back porch when he looked to the sky and saw quite a bizarre sight, in the form of a dark grey, snake-like creature flying through the air on two sets of wings, a “It had a regular one and another set of smaller wings at the end of its body,” and he also mentioned that it had no discernible head. The witness says of the strange “snake bird,”: I couldn’t see a beak either. It didn’t have legs or feet. It was about 10 feet long and thin, like a snake. Its wings were very thin and long, and it moved like an eel or snake. It moved through the air like a sea creature would move through the water. I am familiar with anything that moves around us in our natural habitat. This was not any natural earthly flying creature. So what was it then? An alien, cryptid, or interdimensional interloper? Just a tall tale? Considering no other sightings of the unusual creature were reported we will probably never know. Just about as completely outlandish and utterly surreal as anything we have looked at here so far is a series of reports given to Cryptozoology News involving humanoid entities described as being able to cloak themselves “like the Predator” from the popular science fiction film franchise. Yeah, it’s strange. Let’s take a look. The first report comes from a woman who says that her and her husband moved to a new home in area in western Pennsylvania in 2000. After getting to know the area, one evening they went out with a spotlight to view deer in the wilderness, taking a series of bumpy isolated dirt roads past farms and rural countryside, the only light that which they cast out from their spotlight. As the light stabbed out into the night, the beam captured something within it, although it was not the deer they were expecting to find. The witness says of what they saw: As I stared at this shape, I realized that I did not know what I was looking at. I knew it wasn’t a deer. It wasn’t any animal at all! As my brain tried to comprehend what I was looking at it became more clear the longer I stared. What I saw had the shape of a man but it was not a man. It was not see-through as a ghost. The only way I can describe it was that it was like standing water. But it didn’t cast a shadow. It didn’t have any glare to it as the light was on it. It did not reflect the light. It was not gas. As gas does not have a significant shape. Gas will ebb and flow with the breeze or at least have an inconsistent shape. Rather, what I saw had a defined shape. That was the only way I can see it because, it had the shape of a human and I could make that out because of the defined edges and curves. Only because of its outline was I able to make out what I was looking at. When I realized that I was looking at a human shape, I noticed the posture was similar to a person skulking or sneaking. It was hunched over a little and one of its arms were frozen in place in front of it. As though it knew we saw it and it froze its position to try to be undetectable. For moments that must have seemed like an eternity for the frightened woman, the thing remained motionless, as if it were studying them, before creeping off down a knoll and then just sort of vanished into thin air. She did not know if the creature had been seen by her husband and the entire encounter had lasted only a few seconds, but it was enough to send the woman into a state of panic. She warily told her husband about what she had seen, thinking he might make fun of her, but was shocked when he breathlessly told her that he had witnessed the exact same thing. The witness says: He saw that it was the shape of a man. He saw that it was hunched over as if caught red-handed. He saw that it was cloaked like the predator but it didn’t have a jagged camouflaged look. The thing we saw had a smooth look. It was like standing water without the reflective aspect and its outside shape was smooth, definitive. I do not know what we saw, but I do know it was real! I have been really guarded about this experience and have only told a few people. Because, I know how skeptics are. I am one of them! Yet I cannot refute what we saw. It was real. Nevertheless, whatever it was or is we saw it. There is no doubt in my mind or in my husband’s. Yes, it was dark. But, the spot light was exceptional with its quality and there was no mistaking what we saw being confused with any shadows, strange light reflections, optical illusions, gas leaks, ghosts or any other possible phenomenon. The cloaking capabilities were of absolute exceptional clarity. It bent the light in such a way that it looked like the surrounding environment without any flaws save for the outline of the man/humanoid being. Aside from the distinctive outline, we would not have been able to detect that anything was there at all. Now, if light affects the cloak in the daylight then more people will have more sightings. However, I have a sneaking suspicion that our spot light defected the cloaking mechanism in such a way that we were able to detect the outline because of it.Was that what was going on here? Was this entity using some kind of cloaking device? If it were just an isolated incident one could almost think that their minds had been playing tricks on them, but unbelievably there was another report that came in that seems to describe something remarkably similar. In this account, a man in Tulalip, Washington, 47-year-old Gerald Phair, came forward to say that he has on many occasions spotted “invisible humanoids” lurking about on his property, that can only be faintly seen if a spotlight was shone on them or if the angle was just right. He says of one such sighting: They are in my backyard sometimes. I watch them for hours. I think they know I am watching them and they mess with me later at night. They have a human shape. At first, I thought they were people in camouflage. It is really predator-looking military style. It’s been three months now. One day I counted over 30 of them.If invisibility cloaked humanoids aren’t strange enough for you, then how about a sighting of a winged humanoid described as looking like an angel? This is what an anonymous witness who identifies himself as a Firefighter/Paramedic told Cryptozoology News says he saw near his home in Sidney, Ohio in July of 1990. The witness claims that he was walking home when he saw the humanoid entity, which was around 8 or 9 feet tall and had an impressive wingspan. The witness describes what happened: I was walking home facing North in a residential street, approximately one block from my house. It was a very hot afternoon and winds were picking up. I could see my house in the distance. The sky hard turned very dark due to a pretty significant thunderstorm. The sky was very dark in the northern part of sky and the blue sky and clouds behind me. It was approximately 1500 hrs. As the winds were picking up something white against the dark sky caught my attention. At first I thought it was a large piece of white paper or sheet.
Then I noticed it was like flapping its wings. It flew from my right to left approximately 400 ft up and maybe 120 yards from me at about 25 degrees from my perspective. It was large and very white. It looked humanoid but taller and muscular. My brain couldn’t reference anything other than what an angel would look like. It had a huge wing span and flapped just like a bird’s wings would. Couldn’t make out smaller details like hair or facial features but had a head, two arms, two legs, and two wings. It was flying from East to West, not with the wind. Leaves and grass were blowing in my direction. As with all of the other reports we have looked at here we are left without a clear idea of what this being could have possibly been. Was this an actual angel? Was it something crossing over from some other dimension into our own reality? Who knows? In the end we are left with all of these bizarre, one-off cases of very unearthly creatures that defy conventional categorization and have only been seen to a very limited degree, in most cases only once. What does this tell us about these sorts of cases? Does it mean the witnesses are lying or delusional? Was their imagination just playing tricks on them? Did they just misidentify some natural phenomena and their brains just filled in the details of weird monsters? Wherever the answers may lie, countless cases like these flit about on the periphery, out on the very fringes of the strange and paranormal, defying reason and classification to remain the bizarre of the bizarre. mysteriousuniverse.org/2019/02/very-weird-encounters-with-creatures-from-beyond-the-strange/

mysteriousuniverse.org/2019/04/the-mysterious-ghostly-whistle-people-of-indonesia/ The Mysterious Ghostly Whistle People of Indonesiaby Brent Swancer / mysteriousuniverse.org/author/brentswancer/April 15, 2019 Forests have always had a hold and held an allure over humankind since the very beginning. The woods have played an important role in countless myths, legends, and tales across pretty much every corner of the earth, harboring mysteries and secrets that have always held us in thrall. These are places of myth, magic, and monsters, and one place where there have long been tales of mysterious forest spirits are the lands of Malaysia, Borneo, and Indonesia, where there has long been said to exist a race of inter-dimensional, ghostly entities that may or may not be strictly confined to myth. Deep within the jungles of the Malay Peninsula and in Borneo and Indonesia has long been said to dwell a clan of supernatural beings variously called “The Hidden People,” “The People of Light,” and “The Whistle People,” with the native Malays calling them the Orang Bunian, which comes from the word bunyi, meaning “sound.” The name springs from their most notable feature, being that they are often heard but not seen, their presence known from an eerie whistling noise, or sometimes mysterious shouting or singing that echoes through the forest. They are found throughout the tales of the Malaysians, as well as in Bruneian and Indonesian folklore, and if they are seen at all are usually described as ghostly pale, slender, and often incredibly beautiful humanoids, their faces without a philtrum line, having pointed ears, and they are dressed in traditional garb, a sort of eastern counterpart to the legends of elves. The Orang Bunian are often attributed with myriad supernatural powers, such as teleportation, flight, mind reading, and others, and it is said that they are typically invisible to all but those who have some sort of spiritual sight or sense. They supposedly live within the trees of the most uncharted jungles and high mountains, sleeping upon suspended platforms fashioned of wood and accessed through ropes and ladders. Their society has a very specific royal social order, with the kings and queens, princes and princesses at the top, all the way down to the peasants, and they are said to live between our dimension and another, a very ethereal presence between two worlds. They are mostly seen as indifferent to the affairs of humans, but can be quite hostile if their remote territory is intruded upon, necessitating special rituals and offerings to appease them if anyone expects to make it through without vanishing. Indeed, when someone gets lost or goes missing in the wilderness it is often said that this was the doing of vengeful Orang Bunian, their spectral whistling likely the last thing these people ever heard. Conversely, they are also known to help people who are lost, or to even fall in love with and marry humans, even having babies that are supposedly born invisible. They will also sometimes allow access to great hidden treasures if they are appeased and pleased by those who ask, although anyone who tries to steal these treasures is traditionally in for a lot of pain. This may all sound like pure folklore and legend, but to the native peoples of these regions these creatures are very real and there are many reports of sightings and encounters with the mysterious entities. One witness on the site Hungzai tells of an encounter his grandfather had with the Orang Bunian back in the 1970s. The grandfather allegedly had just bought a plantation just south of Lake Toba, on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, and his strange experiences started not long after he settles in. It began with mysterious drumming noises from the surrounding countryside, which would herald his introduction to the world of the Orang Bunian, and the commenter says: He noted that there was some sort of celebration or prayer meeting every Wednesday evening straight opposite his home. Although he saw no one, he concluded that this must be the case, as precisely at half past six, he heard the sound of metal drums. This sound went on for about half an hour or one hour, and then stopped as suddenly as it began. When he asked his house help as to what was going on there, she just shrugged her shoulders and did not reply. He thought it was impolite or improper to ask about such matters, and did not bother to question her about it anymore. As he got to know the plantation better, his curiosity about this drumming became deeper. He knew that there were no houses or buildings in the valley in front of his home. On the hill beyond the valley too there were no homes or other buildings. Yet every Wednesday, the drumming appeared to be coming from somewhere very close- almost as if from the valley! Finally, as tactfully as possible, he asked some of his assistants as to what the sound was and from where it was coming. They just smiled at him and said, ‘ Itu orang Bunian ‘ ( It’s the Bunian people ). He did not wish to look silly by asking them what the Bunian people were, and so he just said, ‘ Oh ‘ and nodded in agreement. There was an assistant (Jamal) there who was particularly close to him. My grandfather asked him in confidence as to what these Bunian people were. Jamal replied that they were invisible people, somewhat similar to the gnomes and fairies of Western folklore. They liked living near humans and sometimes got friendly with some of them. There were stories about how some human males married Bunian females and went on to be accepted in the Bunian community. They however became invisible to other humans as soon as they entered the Bunian community. Humans could ask for help from the Bunians. If a person was having a feast and did not have enough cutleries for the occasion, plates could be borrowed from the Bunian people. Great care however must be taken that not a single plate is broken. He asked Jamal as to how he could prove that the drumming was made by the Orang Bunian. He replied that on one Wednesday, two other assistants determined to find out once and for all from where the sound issued. Armed with torchlights and long knives, they proceeded to look for the source of the sound as soon as it started. They descend all the way into the valley and traveled up quite a distance on the hill on the other side, and still the sound appeared to be coming from just a short distance in front of them. As it had already gotten dark by then, they abandoned their quest and hurried back home. We can find out more for ‘ orang bunian ‘ and read something more about these folks. I’m convinced that they exist, as I’ve heard their stories everywhere and how my late grandfather told the story of his to me. In another account from Nature Lover, the witness says his experience happened when he was just a baby, when one day he supposedly disappeared from his room, his clothes neatly folded on the edge of the bed. His parents then looked everywhere for him but could not find him anywhere, leading them to notify the authorities. He says of his experiences and the Orang Bunian in general: My mother was crying. She had lost her first son. Then, at dusk, when my mom was taking her prayer’s ablution, a humanlike figure approached her. She braved herself and listened to what the figure was saying. “Take back your baby. He is not suitable…there is a birthmark on his left thigh…” The figure disappeared before she could ask where the baby was. She ran into the bedroom and there I was, sleeping peacefully on the bed, as if nothing great had happened! According to my mother, the same thing happened to the brother of my grandfather very long time ago. He also disappeared into thin air, abducted by orang bunian. His family maintained close relationship with him when he was in the orang bunian world. They got his help whenever anyone fell sick. They borrowed plates and other cooking paraphernalia whenever a party was held. Whenever you borrow something from these orang bunian, the rule is return everything to them, be it broken pieces. Once things are not returned, the service stopped. He was never again found and we lost contact with him after many many years of his disappearance. Many think that orang bunians are djinns. Djinns’ population is much more than ours. Some are good and some can be nasty, just like us humans. In the eighties, there are stories of people seeing beautiful bunian girls strolling in Chukai town at nights. At first nobody disturbed them and so they continue walking the town. Then came a group of rowdy teenagers. they whistled and disturbed the girls and since then they never appeared again. Once as Syafiq and I were on our home from Penang I saw a lady in white long dress by a bridge somewhere in Temerloh. What was she doing in the dead of the night alone? I quietly told Syafiq about her. He was all of a sudden very quiet. Scared perhaps. I continued driving without anything bad happening to us. There are quite a few mysterious disappearances attributed to the doings of the Orang Bunian as well, with these entities using their mystical powers to confuse, befuddle, or even kidnap the unwary. One such case is that of 15-year-old Mohd Khairi Abdul Ghani, who went missing while out hiking at a place called Gunung Tebu, in Terengganu, Malaysia. For five days search and rescue parties scoured the area with aircraft and sniffer dogs without success, until finally one day he just showed up out of nowhere, wearing nothing but a towel and gazing out over a river in a daze. He would go on to explain that he had seen searchers looking for him, but no matter how much he had called out no one could hear or see him, that he “couldn’t do anything.” It was widely believed by locals that the Orang Bunian had kidnapped him. In 1979 there was the case of a missing farmer named Azmi Ahmad, then 28, in Sungai Petani, Malaysia. He apparently woke one evening to tell his wife he was going to go out and bathe in the river, after which he went to step off the face of the earth. When he did not return for some time his wife and neighbors went to look for him and found his clothes neatly folded by the riverside, but no sign of the farmer. Some local shamans, called bomoh, were brought in to assist with the efforts, and they chanted and gave prayers to no effect. Azmi would come wandering back the next day in a daze, telling a story of having been brought to a magical hill by the Orang Bunian. In fact, he became obsessed with finding this place again, and his family had to actively implore him not to go out looking for them again. These entities will purportedly use music and singing to lure the unsuspecting away down paths from which they will never return, welcoming these poor souls into another dimension in which they will become invisible and fade from reality as we know it. There have been some accounts of people experiencing this for themselves, only to manage to break free from the spell and live to tell the tale. One veteran hiker by the name of Seelan Govindan was in Selangor, Malaysia, with a new hiker when he heard this alluring music wafting through the trees, and says of his experience with this: It was such an awesome and smooth tune and I was sure it was not a bird or any animal. Yet the newbie had no reaction and could hear nothing. But the music was very attractive, and it seemed to come closer. In my heart, I said a silent prayer that I needed to focus on completing the hike and getting the newbie out and home safely. After that, and as soon as I stepped in the direction of the music, everything just stopped and went back to normal. [img src=" " alt=" "] In anther instance, hiker and journalist A.R. Amiruddin was out climbing the 2,181m-high Gunung Yong Belar in Cameron Highlands, Pahang, when he fell under the spell of these mysterious spirits. He says: Descending alone, I found myself going around in a circle. It was clear and clean within the circle which was surrounded by flowering plants. I could not see any other path to get out. My mind was blank. I lost track of time and I was trapped. There was pin-drop silence and the atmosphere was tranquil. Just then, two of our team members descended. We were on a five-day trip – three up and two days down. They asked me what I was doing. I had the audacity to tell them to follow me. They knew something was wrong: my face was pale, my voice forceful and my body language was out of the norm. They dragged me by the hands from the circle. None of us spoke during the 90-minute descent from my newfound paradise. On reaching our base, they related what transpired. God bless, I had escaped from the clutches of these spirits. During this particular outing, a woman climber saw a beautiful lake when none of us did. Another woman hiker felt as if someone was following her. She heard footsteps but when she turned round, there was no one. Strange but true. I believe in these happenings because I went through this mysterious passage. This is very interesting, as it mirrors some aspects of other disappearances in other areas of the world that follow the same pattern, and suggest some spiritual energy pulling people in. Is there a connection? Who is to say? As much as the tales of the Orang Bunian might seem to be myth and folklore, it is clear to see that the people of these regions truly believe it, and sightings and encounters continue on. What are these things? Are they ghosts, spirits, a lost civilization, magical beings, inter-dimensional travelers, or mere fairy tales? Whatever you may think, the stories of the Orang Bunian continue on, and perhaps always will. mysteriousuniverse.org/2019/04/the-mysterious-ghostly-whistle-people-of-indonesia/

mysteriousuniverse.org/2019/04/strange-and-frightening-encounters-with-forest-spirits/ Strange and Frightening Encounters With Forest SpiritsBrent Swancer / mysteriousuniverse.org/author/brentswancer/ April 19, 2019 Throughout all of human history the forests of our world have always held a special allure. The trees have birthed countless legends and myths, as well as spawned all manner of forest entities, sprites, and spirits. Just walking amongst the tranquil woods one can feel why this might be so, as it is a place that holds an almost mystical quality to it, sometimes even seeming like a place we don’t even belong in at all. Over the ages there have been many tales of encounters with the supernatural denizens of the woodlands of the world, and here we will look at some that take on a rather frightening quality, to show that the forests can not only propel wonder, awe, and myth, but also fear as well. Some of the most spectacular encounters with strange, unsettling mystical forces in the forest are those accounts that describe seeing some sort of spooky wood spirits or perhaps even demons. These are those incidents in which people have come across what seem to be ghostly or magical entities somehow connected to the forest, and which likely did not mean to be seen at all. From the site Your Ghost Stories we have an account from a woman who had her bizarre experience as she was hiking in the summer time with her boyfriend in the mountains of Italy. On one of these peaceful hikes she reached the end of the trail before her boyfriend, so she decided to wait there and enjoy the tranquil scenery while she waited for him to arrive. She says of what happened next: I was sitting there on a rock and, I don’t know how, but I felt something was in the woods behind me. Behind me there was a precipice not very deep though and the forest would cover the end of it and all around. I stood up and tried to see if there was something down there. That’s when I saw it (I still get shivers when I think about it) deep down there, there was a chamois, a beautiful one with long horns, I got excited because I rarely see one. I was looking at him from behind, his fur was light brown and he had a black line that went from the neck to the tail, but something was very wrong with it, that’s when I froze. His front legs looked like they didn’t end with a normal cloven hoof, but he had three fingers at the end of his front legs similar to a bird claw but not that sharp, the back legs seemed normal. I could see it cause he was walking very slowly and calmly through the vegetation. Then I noticed with great horror that his face seemed flat, no muzzle, I couldn’t look at him directly in the face but I couldn’t see his forehead and nose, what should have been there, just wasn’t. Thinking about it now I really wished I had seen his face, just to see how the eyes and mouth were organized. He disappeared in the pine’s shadow and I was still there shocked when my boyfriend finally arrived. I told him what I saw and he didn’t believe me, he laughed. I know it’s not scary and it can even be funny if you think about it, a chamois with eagle leg and flat face. I thought about it all the time we were descending. It was so weird. At the end I told myself that I must have dreamed it even if I would love to know that I wasn’t the only one to see that thing. I like to think it was a Deity that took the form of a chamois. There wasn’t any village at the mountain’s feet so I couldn’t ask if someone saw that too, or if someone knew nothing about a weird animal living in the forest. This was obviously not some normal animal of the forest, so did she happen to come across some forest spirit or deity as she suspects, or was this all some strange hallucination? Perhaps an even odder tale comes from a Reddit poster who claims that at the time he had been in the wilds outside of Houston, Texas, in what he describes as “an isolated patch of forest” by a creek. He had set a hammock up that evening and was relaxing listening to the sounds of the night when the strange came for him. He explains his experience: This night, it was dark, like “extra dark” (I think the moon was covered up, but there was still enough city light to create a dim “atmospheric glow”) and I heard some movement, definitely coming my way, where I was on the creek… And it didn’t seem as “cautious” as most of the other animals, which startled me: whatever was coming my way was ballsy… I don’t think I had my knife at the time, so I think I grabbed a stick, and listened quietly as the sound got closer… It kept walking in my direction, but I could barely see a thing… Eventually, it got pretty close, and I could FAINTLY see a silhouette… This wasn’t an animal I had seen before… It was white, with long legs, too tall to be a hog, and definitely not a deer. It just stood there, staring at me, as if it was *angry* that I was in its spot or something… I don’t think I made any sudden movements or anything, but just sat there looking, trying to figure out what it was… Eventually it went back into the forest, and honestly, even with how much I go through those same patches of woods, I haven’t seen it again… I was thinking it was a wolf, or a coyote, but this thing was WHITE, like “white enough to see him in almost pitch black darkness”, and he had long legs, and a real dignified demeanor… Like, he just stared at me, not scared at all, before he calmly disappeared… I aint seen nothing like that before, and I aint seen it since, nor have I seen any footprints or anything that really seem indicative of what it was… Just “long legs, white fur, and a really calm, dignified demeanor. The witness also describes feeling a sense of power and menace from the entity. One odd account comes from a Reddit poster who says that his experience happened in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, which are a rugged portion the northern Appalachian Mountains of the Eastern United States. He claims that at the time he worked at the Appalachian Mountain Club at the visitor center and that he would often stay there after hours. This was when he would begin to notice something rather odd in the nearby wilderness, and this would escalate into the truly terrifying. He says: Every once and a while as I walked from the dorms to the main building I would see lights up on the mountain and I usually dismissed it as some hiker or camper and most other people did. It was a very rainy night so I could’ve been hearing things or just my own paranoia but some lights seemed very close and it bobbed up and down quickly so I went to go see if someone needed help but it quickly went out and I could see from my own phone light a crouched, very dark “humanoid” shape hunched over. I ran, *bleep* that noise. The next day I asked the dishwasher who I was very close to and he had claimed to see something similar but no one else had believed him as he was pretty new as well. I had about 2 months left on my work contract so I decided to keep quiet about it. Where I live it’s around an old paper mill and I had a close friend come up and we decided to go for a walk in the woods across the street, it was about midnight and being college student’s we didn’t care about sleep at all. The area of woods we walked in used to be a street in the early 1900’s so there’s a lot of road bits but there’s one specifically that I have no better way to describe than “Un-earthly” damn near perfectly circular and a lack of foliage around it. Again I have no better way to describe it than it “Called to me” I had a weird possession to sit on this rock. I had my friend watch my back as he had weird feeling about it as well. About a minute in a had gotten a splitting head ache and as much as I wanted to get off this rock I couldn’t move, I was absorbed in something else. About another minute in I had called out to my friend to see if he saw anything and he claimed to see a dark hunched over “humanoid” Figure in one of the trees. I had to have him drag me off the rock and we ran out of the woods. This account is interesting in that it illustrates a dark trend among some of these mysterious forest encounters, in that whatever these entities are they sometimes seem to have malicious intent, perhaps even drawing us into their lair for nefarious reasons unknown. Such accounts seem suggest that these spirits wish to pull us in and take us from the reality we know, to spirit us away. One report that follows this same spooky pattern is one that was given by a woman named Moyra Doorly, who had been with a friend visiting a small island off the coast of Scotland called The Isle of Arran. The island itself is already rich in the lore and Celtic legends of fairies and forest spirits, and Doorly would actually report having several encounters with such beings. However, some of these meetings turned out to have a rather sinister air to them. One of Doorly’s encounters happened as she was out enjoying the peaceful serenity of the unspoiled island and suddenly noticed what looked to be a procession of tall, slender entities with dull gray hair dressed in striped brown clothing and surrounded by smaller dancing, cavorting beings described as “imps.” Watching them she felt herself falling into a sort of trance-like state, and felt an overwhelming compulsion to follow this bizarre parade into the lonely wilderness. She went along with them in this daze, and says she did not remember much of the walk, but that she soon found herself in a strange new location. She says of what happened next: We were soon inside a hall which looked as if it had been hewn out of rock. [uh oh….]. There was a long table where preparations for a meal had been made. Again the imps tried to make me change my clothes but I refused. The stripes stood very still, as if in anticipation. Perhaps they were waiting to see if I would sit at their table, which I couldn’t bring myself to do. Then I heard the words: ‘You are the first person to come this way for 200 years. Come be with us.’ According to Doorly, this ethereal voice was compelling, and both angelic and evil at the same time, it sort of snapped her out of her stupor, yet she still describes the atmosphere as remaining “languorous and dreamy.” As the beings stood around her smiling and beckoning to her she managed to find the reserve of strength within her to turn away and walk the other direction, after which they vanished and she found herself by an unfamiliar stream. Even more shocking than this mysterious encounter was that when she was able to get her bearings and find her friend, he also claimed to have met the very same entities, and that they had implored him to stay with them as well. They would continue to see weird balls of dancing light or odd mists in the forest, and hear disembodied singing from the trees, but they would not see the strange little beings again during their stay. What were these entities and what did they want? Even eerier, what would have happened to these two witnesses if they had decided to stay as the entities had asked? In other cases like this the forest entities are not seen, but they still seem intent on drawing the victim away into the forbidding wilds. On Your Ghost Stories is the account from a witness in Croatia, who seems to have been beckoned by some unseen force dwelling within the woods as he was out walking his dogs along a trail near a steep drop-off. The witness says of his spooky experience: There was a new road going through my forest made last year. I walked my dogs there a couple of times, but I never went too far. Until this time, when I went all the way to the end of the road. There was a dead end and after that, nothing but forest. There was also a cliff/drop so there was no more paths I, or anyone else, could walk. I sat there on the forest floor and was giving my dogs water, when I heard someone calling me. They (he or she, I couldn’t quite recognize if it was a male of female voice) were shouting my name. I wasn’t quite sure if I heard it right, so I stood still and waited to hear if they will say it again… And they did. They repeated it a few times and now I was 100% sure they were calling my name. I thought it was maybe someone who I know, so I shouted back. No response. They just continued shouting my name, over and over again. I eventually got up and returned home, I could still hear my name shouted as I was walking away. I don’t know what that was and I’m also not sure, if it was a person, where were they? Because as I already said, there was a cliff at the end of the road. Not a place where people could walk. And the shouts were coming from that direction, from the forest, like someone was at the bottom of the cliff. I went down that road a couple more times after that and nothing weird happened. I always feel kind of uneasy there, since that part of the forest is a bit dark, so I feel watched at all times. Especially now since that happened, it’s like I expect something is out there just waiting on me. Considering the proximity of that cliff and the origin of the disembodied voices, it almost seems as if whatever it was may have been trying to lure the witness off of the trail and off of that cliff. Is that what was going on here or was it just his imagination playing tricks on him? It is hard to say, but an unsettling account nevertheless. One more account that seems related was given by a witness in England who had a couple of weird encounters with a forest spirit of some sort. It started when he went out for a walk in the forest near his house one day and ended up in a clearing, where he explains what happened next: It was night when I arrived first, and I had to make use of a torch to get to the bottom of the hill, which looked out across the wide field. I lamented after a while, speaking my troubles to the wind which blew back comforts at the ends of my sentences. It was then, that I noticed something, across the field. A small, pin-point light, appearing for a moment before vanishing into the darkness once again. At first, I was about to leave, startled by someone obviously walking towards me with their phone out as a torch. But torches aren’t that small, or perfectly round (orb-like), nor do they dance up into the air and fade out of existence; and no one would ever in a million years be able to walk through the slick muck without the aid of a light, so turning it on and off for a single moment would be pointless and ultimately fruitless. I stayed for a while afterwards, thinking I saw it again, but couldn’t be too sure if it wasn’t just my eyes playing tricks with me. The next time I went there, was Christmas Eve. I once again sat there, this time in the forest itself, talking to seemingly nothing but something. I ended a sentence with a greeting, saying ‘hello’ to whatever Wight lived thereabouts. I was hailed by a guttural greeting back, short and clipped, rough but gurgled, like a wet rock going down a stream. No one was there – I was at the centre, and the looseness of the trees let me see completely 360 degrees – and as a result, was thoroughly freaked out enough to leave with a promise to come back another time. The witness in this case goes on to explain that he felt the presence he had encountered wanted him to stay or to follow it, and it is hard to say what would have happened if he had. These particular sorts of accounts are very eerie, in that they seem to perhaps possibly tie into the myriad unexplained vanishings that have occurred in forests all over the world, such as those covered in the Missing 411 series of books by David Paulides. It makes one wonder if some sort of force, energy, or entity of the forest could be luring some of these unfortunate souls in for reasons we may never understand and are perhaps not meant to. Whatever the origins of these forces are, or whether they really even exist at all, they underscore the fact that these seas of green have always had an allure and mystique to them, and perhaps harbor dangerous things beyond our comprehension. mysteriousuniverse.org/2019/04/strange-and-frightening-encounters-with-forest-spirits/

..... and then, this particular night, April 21, 2019, “Easter Sunday night”, I had one of the most purely fantastical dreams that I have ever had in my life.
Me, jcurio, a dream. Most likely inspired by this latest article from MU.
I was myself. But I was “transported” to a world “under the wood” (an inner earth domain that had high skies that glowed with an “ethereal” light). Reluctantly I decided that I was among the fairies; because every one was of a diminutive size and had beautiful eyes too big for their child-like faces (all the better for seeing in dim lit caverns: I suppose).
I don’t mind admitting that the dream started with me “waking in this world in the midst of an orgasm” and fighting off this “man” who was engaged in giving me pleasure. Because you see, this was the simple clue that somehow I was being attacked by some being..... because, mind you, in real life I have given up sex, and so my dream self, has eventually followed suit. I’m not kidding. No matter how “good” it might have started to feel.... I was waking into this scenario, thus my mind was screaming “rape!”, and it didnt matter that it was a dream! As I fought, I called on the name of Jesus Christ, and the man “disappeared”.
Imagine my sorrow, to find that I wasn’t ALSO instantly transported back to OUR world, and my own comfortable bed....
Is that how these “unfortunate” dreams start? Is this what every contactee is secretly afraid of? That somehow, they have consented to some rapturous dream sex, and soon find themselves lost?
But they DO wake up (safely) in their beds; and forget most of the “dream”. Did I read this somewhere? That this, is what is happening,? and some of us suppose that we have been seduced by demons?
It was icky. It was gross. I was mortified. And KNEW that I wasn’t re-living one of those times that my former husband raped me in such a way.... YES, While I was sleeping... and feel horrified all over again THINKING OF THAT.
Waking up once, during, and finding him ALSO ASLEEP, but his hands, pressing on my throat (and of course he never remembered the incident the next day; he had gone to bed in a black-out)
And now, realizing that I talk about this, unashamedly, and I have come full circle.
What do I mean by “full circle”? I talk about this part of the dream, because when I first talked (posted) about the abductee thing, years ago, someone asked me if I knew of any sexual molestation in my childhood. I still do not. I have covered that base.
So what does this have to do with me waking in an entirely different world underground? I came to understand, that I wasnt one that was trapped there. These diminutive people were. And soon I found myself trying to help the kindly and “good” ones there. There were raging rivers, and floods, and strange fish in the waters, and marauding bands of thieves that were only hungry, and trying to feed their own... (I was never offered anything to eat. I never saw the women I was with eating- but giving their pitiful children whatever scraps there were to be had).
There was some sort of “monster” eating, tunneling through their world, (but now that I think of it, was it “clanking”? Is it some sort of machine ?) I was warning them of this..... it was almost ... my purpose for being there...
I was with a clan of women. I was taller than most (as my true self) so I was busy climbing about our “boat” and shutting the window shutters for the night, and reminding everyone that we would be much safer if we extinguished every bit of light at night/ not one candle.... and putting children to bed with a promise that I would sing to them another night.... and a tiny little old woman who was so feeble, and I was giving her every extra blanket I could find... as she smiled and nodded off to sleep... patting the soft mat beside her for me to join her soon....she was in the highest room of the boat.... and I’m realizing that the boat, made of sturdy twigs and such, is in the form of a great swan, with her wings spread over the decks below (also, kind of an airplane shape- though we float on a great underground river).
My last “memory” before laying down to take my rest, is asking a young maiden, “where do all these children come from” (my mind speaking the rest- of “where are their fathers?”) and the maiden nods, and says “our husbands are always near by”. And I get a vision of a great raft sailing by, full of men, and one of them thumps his fist on our stern, in acknowledgement, as they “disappear” again
I’m left wondering: “what am I doing here?” (they have plenty of help). ————————-
Monday morning, over coffee, I tell my human, real life mother, that I had this “fantastical dream about living with the fairies”. (With a bit of humor of course).
Without skipping a beat, my elderly mother says, “were they the nice kind” (or something to that effect).
Without even thinking, I answered her. And told her I was sad. Because I couldn’t REALLY help them...
(And we dropped the subject). .—————————-
I won’t be afraid in the forest.
I think about how many times throughout my life, that I have dreamed that I am underground.

It was just a dream. And I must have heard about this somewhere..... fox4kc.com/2018/10/17/new-study-confirms-hyperloop-system-from-kc-to-st-louis-would-be-feasible/amp/ Read more: theedgeofreality.proboards.com/thread/1418/who-simplistic-solutions-jc?page=106#ixzz5mz1oYNxD___________________ But it seemed so REAL. Realer (more real) than me sitting here and finger typing. People talk about this “real” aspect when they talk about NDE’s. 🙂 I also (sheepishly) noted the subtle connection with sex. Or having an O. You know.... those people that believe there is magic to be had right there..... I wonder..... 😁 Definitely MUCH better to experience “trying” to have a “spiritual experience” by having sex, than by sacrificing blood. Yuck. THAT, is one of my head stopped up, head cold, brain-dead thoughts (jokes). ********** How, would the “fairy world” look at US, building a tunnel for a special train from Kansas City to St. Louis? I’m not surprised that this route would be “chosen”; because of the many caves here. (Im really actually surprised that we don’t have some kind of “Dulce”, New Mexico here). Which, actually, I think we do 😉. Just a lot more developed above ground here (not so much Mesa plateau) 😉. I’m also surprised at myself, for how much I am “sharing”.

mysteriousuniverse.org/2019/11/philip-k-dick-and-a-truly-bizarre-paranormal-experience/ Philip K. Dick and a Truly Bizarre Paranormal Experienceby Brent Swancer / mysteriousuniverse.org/author/brentswancer/November 20, 2019 There is no denying that one of the most well-known and influential authors of science fiction of all time is none other than Philip Kindred Dick. He is the author of such beloved classics as the acclaimed, Hugo Award winning “The Man in the High Castle,” which put his name on the map, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (1968), upon which the hit film Blade Runner was based, Ubik (1969), A Scanner Darkly (1977) and VALIS (1981), as well as many, many others, over the course of his impressive career penning 44 novels and 121 short stories, many of which have been made into films such as Total Recall, Minority Report and The Adjustment Bureau. Often dealing with deep philosophical themes, shadowy corporate tomfoolery, altered states of consciousness, metaphysics, and the nature of reality, often presented in a very sinister and apocalyptic way, his books and stories have attracted a lot of attention. However, what many may not know is that Dick himself at various points in his career was convinced that reality truly was distorted, and he has some very strange experiences and ideas in his life that gave birth to these ideas, and in many ways, it seems as if Philip K. Dick’s bizarre paranormal experiences were just as strange as anything in his worlds of fiction. For all of his success as a great writer, Dick certainly had a troubled life that carried on into his growing fame. Addicted to amphetamines, Valium and tranquilizers for decades, he was an extremely paranoid man, at one point convinced that his third wife, Anne Rubenstein was trying to kill him, even going as far as to try and push her off a cliff. Indeed, this deep paranoia may have sparked his attempts to kill a girlfriend as well by driving their car off the road to send them both to the hospital. Suicide was a constant dark cloud hanging over his head, he was ever spiraling into depression, and he at several points expressed that he was having delusions of outside alien forces driving him to do the things he did. He would marry his fourth wife Nancy Hackett in 1966, but it did not last long, and by 1971 Dick was living in a rundown filthy house in San Rafael, California and fully hitting rock bottom in stride. It was at this stage of his life that his drug use reached epic levels, with him washing down handfuls of pills at a time, and his persistent paranoia truly took hold. It was not uncommon for him to patrol his property armed with a pistol hunting for trespassers, and according to Dick these imagined intruders were not necessarily human, as he was convinced that actual aliens were out to get him, something which he would often call police to tell them, and he would at one point believe that he was being turned into an android. Surreal delusions such as these sent him to the psychiatric ward on several occasions and would drive him to try to commit suicide twice, once in 1972 through an attempted overdose of sedatives, and another several years after that in which he tried to gas himself with carbon monoxide in his garage and slit his wrists for good measure. It didn’t work, and indeed it was this last suicide attempt that convinced him that he was perhaps spinning out of control and needed help. He quit doing drugs and married his fifth wife, 18-year-old Tessa Busby, in 1973 and began trying to get his life on track, yet it was during this period in his life that he would have a paranormal experience that would profoundly change his life and way of thinking. In February of 1974, Dick underwent dental surgery in order to get a wisdom tooth pulled that had been troubling him. It was a fairly standard procedure, nothing too serious, but it would lead to an incredibly bizarre experience for Dick. Just after the surgery he was at home in pain as the anesthetic wore off when he had a visitor at his doorbell. When Dick opened the door, he did so to find an attractive young woman standing there with black hair and large eyes, and wearing a gold necklace with a glinting gold medallion in the shape of a fish, which she said was a Christian symbol and which provoked a mysterious sense of potent déjà vu in the author that he couldn’t shake. Dick asked her what she wanted and she merely said that she was a delivery person from the pharmacy, and that she was there to drop off his medication, and the author, still confused by his sense of familiarity with that medallion, took the package and went back to his room. It was at this moment that he would have the first of a series of deep, enigmatic visions that would shake his view of reality to the core. If you read further in the above article there is this :
“ He was told by these entities that time had actually been stopped in 70 AD, right about when the Romans had destroyed the temple of Jerusalem, and that all of the history that he thought he knew was a deception and an illusion by what they called “the Black Iron Prison.” Not only this, but Dick was informed that he was actually an early Christian spy seeking to ....”
___________
Not so weird; really.
And Dick’s life seemed to improve from this point on. 🙂
What did Dick reveal to us in his lifetime? Can it be taken seriously?

The picture at the top reminds me of my “fairy dream” (though in my dream the scene was much darker because of it being “under the woods”).
These are pictures from looking on a “orang bunian” images

I still don’t know what to think of that “fairy dream”.
Very thankful that I don’t remember the first part; at all. (The sex).
The actual ending to the dream was even more disturbing and I didn’t want to share it ...... the “whole dream”, and wanting to help these people was impossible! I tried!

mysteriousuniverse.org/2020/05/sulfur-sickening-smells-and-paranormal-creatures/ Sulfur: Sickening Smells and Paranormal Creaturesby Nick Redfern / mysteriousuniverse.org/author/nredfern/May 14, 2020 Today’s article is on the subject of sulfur and paranormal entities. The Encyclopedia Britannica states: “The combustion of sulfur had a role in Egyptian religious ceremonials as early as 4,000 years ago. ‘Fire and brimstone’ references in the Bible are related to sulfur, suggesting that ‘hell’s fires’ are fueled by sulfur. The beginnings of practical and industrial uses of sulfur are credited to the Egyptians, who used sulfur dioxide for bleaching cotton as early as 1600 BCE. Greek mythology includes sulfur chemistry: Homer tells of Odysseus’ use of sulfur dioxide to fumigate a chamber in which he had slain his wife’s suitors.” As strange as it may sound (or not…), there are numerous cases on file that tell of offensive odors in conjunction with paranormal encounters. Such a thing has even been connected to the UFO phenomenon and to strange creatures that fall into the category of Cryptozoology. It so happens that Albert Bender, who practically began the Men in Black mystery in the early 1950s, experienced this. Bender, after establishing the International Flying Saucer Bureau, was threatened by nothing less than a trio of pale, skinny, fedora-wearing MIB. Their visits which firmly set the scene for the decades of MIB-themed horror and mayhem that followed. Bender’s visitors were not secret-agents of government, however. He said they materialized in his bedroom – a converted attic in a creepy old house of Psycho proportions – amid an overpowering stench of sulfur. They were shadowy beings with demon-like, glowing eyes. As his research continued, Bender corresponded with a man named Harold Fulton. In 1952, Fulton was a sergeant in the Royal New Zealand Air Force. He established the New Zealand-based Civilian Saucer Investigation. It was an organization dedicated to investigating the UFO phenomenon. The CSI proved to be an extremely successful venture for Fulton: in less than a year, he had more than five hundred subscribers to his journal, which went by the title of Flying Saucers. It wasn’t long after the revelations concerning Albert Bender’s torturous encounters with the Men in Black surfaced that Fulton contacted Bender. A lengthy period of correspondence between the two duly followed. Indeed, Fulton had established a connection with numerous UFO researchers in the United States, including Gray Barker, who, in 1962, published Albert Bender’s MIB-themed book, Flying Saucers and the Three Men. It wasn’t long before the MIB got their claws into Fulton and turned his life upside down. Letters between Fulton and Bender make it very clear that Fulton was concerned that whatever it was that had got its grips into Bender was, by the summer of 1953, now doing exactly the same with him. Fulton told Bender that on several occasions he experienced in his home the very same overpowering odor of sulfur-meets-rotten-eggs Bender had talked about. Equally disturbing, Fulton began to see vague, shadowy, human-like figures out of his peripheral vision – and usually late at night, and always when he was engaged in his UFO research. Moving on, there’s the matter of Joshua Cutchin’s book, The Brimstone Deceit. It’s subtitle is: An In-Depth Examination of Supernatural Scents, Otherworldly Odors, and Monstorus Miasmas. The title of the book is as important as it is relevant. Indeed, brimstone, sulfur, and the smell of something not unlike rotten eggs all surface to a huge degree in Cutchin’s book – and spanning centuries. We are treated to an in-depth and excellent study of how, and under certain circumstances, the likes of sulfur and brimstone were so often became linked to the world of the paranormal – usually from a hostile, evil perspective. Sections in the book that will give you in-depth insight into this specific area are those titled “Sulfur and Hell,” “Sulfur and Satan,” and “Science of Sulfur.” John Keel, in the pages of his book, The Mothman Prophecies, John Keel wrote: “Several times each year tall, hairy creatures with red eyes are still seen throughout the United States and, in fact, throughout the world. Like many forms of chimeras, they are usually accompanied by the smell of rotten eggs – hydrogen sulfide. The ‘fire and brimstone’ of the ancients. The same odor frequently surrounds the fabled flying saucers and their space-suited pilots.” Andrew Griffin, of the Red Dirt Report, addresses this matter, too: “Even though Keel, who died in 2009, originally published The Eighth Tower in 1975, being reprinted by Anomalist Books in 2013, it is remarkable how contemporary the issues are and the questions raised. Keel long eschewed the nuts-and-bolts theories of visiting spacemen in solid, interplanetary craft. There was too much that was ‘ghostly’ about this perplexing phenomenon. Like the whole ‘rotten eggs’ and ‘sulfur’ aspect, which people in the Middle Ages (and today, to a certain extent) associate with demons, witches, trolls, swamp apes and whatnot.” mysteriousuniverse.org/2020/05/sulfur-sickening-smells-and-paranormal-creatures/

I freak out as you know. It takes me back to my experiences . Like Whitley said once in Communion it smelled like Cardboard. Until I smelled fireworks once. It hit me it was the same smell. I'm allergic to it if I take in a by mouth. I break out with huge hives all over my body. It was like that as a child. Could the hives be more mentally? Like I experience it with ufos. When I read Communion I had to slam the book close. I would do this in almost every chapter I read. I do know inside the ship was pure sulfur smell. Which I related to burnt cardboard. . I have smelled it all my life when it is not really around me. Steve said once It may be why I get panicky . Well today I felt panicky slamming doors and windows. I never knew how to end it. As the missing time is still missing time to me.

Sending you some prayers for peace, Lois.
I have been “on edge” for several days now. I fell, I drop things, I can’t fold a blanket to where the edges meet perfectly; that kind of stuff. And a doozy of a headache the last 24 hours. I could use some peace myself ☺️.
For some reason, I thought Steve “poo-poohed” our smelling of sulfur? I wonder how he is doing these days?

www.ufoinsight.com/ufos-aliens-and-the-paranormal-a-case-study/ UFOs, Aliens, And The Paranormal – A Case Study February 9th, 2019 Written by: Marcus Lowth In the minds of many, accounts of UFOs and aliens are a million miles away from tales of ghostly apparitions and paranormal activity. The fact is, though, they often intertwine. So much so, in fact, that there is a good argument to consider that, for the most part, these apparently unrelated phenomenon is of the same source. And what’s more, when we consider such notions as the ancient astronaut theory, which itself stretches into certain aspects of some of the alternative history research taking place, it would appear these connections have been strong since antiquity. There is a mountain of possibilities to consider. For example, are legends of demons and angels actually speaking of flesh-and-blood extraterrestrial? Is phenomena such as strange noises, sudden temperature drops, and even ghostly apparitions really signs of close encounters, and possibly alien abduction? Are ancient myths of serpent gods tentative proof of the visitation, and domination over humanity by “reptilian aliens”, whose appearance perhaps sits nicely along apparent depictions of The Devil? And what about such claims of shapeshifting werewolves and blood-drinking vampires? Do these stem from some kind of long-ago alien interaction? Or maybe we should consider entities from another dimension, arriving here through portals? And where does the Occult fit into all of this? Are there connections, for example, between the Third Reich, the Occult, and their interest in extraterrestrial entities, whose energy the Vril Society wished to harness? Indeed, any prolonged research of the UFO and alien question will take any researcher down a multitude of avenues. All of which we must explore. When we start arriving at the same destination through these different avenues, which many believe they are starting to, we need to question just what might be at the root of the UFO and alien phenomena? Paranormal Activity Or Alien Abduction?Although most don’t realize it at the time, if indeed ever in some cases, many cases of repeat alien abduction often begin with signs more akin to paranormal activity. For example, many such abductees report experiencing sudden problems with a whole manner of electrical equipment. Usually while they are in the vicinity. Sometimes a television reception will become scattered, or an electronic device will simply short out. Or, some people might report small items, possibly jewelry or an ornament, simply go missing. Then, the object will mysteriously and randomly reappear. These particular kinds of incidents often lead to people setting up makeshift cameras or CCTV to attempt to capture the culprit on film. On occasion, this leads to more distress for the witness, but also offers us an insight into such bizarre activity. Many people who have taken to setting up such security cameras have often captured strange phenomena most would instantly associate with the paranormal. Some people, for example, might record strange orbs moving about a certain room. Others might capture a blur or a mist. Again, something that would lead the witness to suspect they had captured footage of a ghost or an apparition. They would very likely be more inclined to think they had proof of life on the other side as opposed to life from far away. And maybe they might be correct. However, perhaps of all the strange and chilling paranormal-type phenomena captured on these types of homemade security missions are those of the Shadow People. And they show up relatively regularly in accounts featuring interactions with alleged aliens. CONTINUE READING: www.ufoinsight.com/ufos-aliens-and-the-paranormal-a-case-study/

For me, instances of high strangeness, and anomalous events, seem especially susceptible to rapid dissipation and forgetting. I don’t know whether this is a widely recognized aspect of the experience, totally irrelevant, or even if it only happens to me. But if only we could push a little deeper into the fog – the apparent ‘programmed to forget’ aspect might provide some insight into what is really going on, and why. Sometimes there comes an irrational suspicion we are being manipulated, or are part of a grand scheme (not religious in any sense I understand), and certainly that we are being 'watched', maybe subtly 'guided' too. [Of course, I might be saying the same thing if I were simply fishing for enrollment in some secure facility with three meals a day, a comfy bed, and being 'looked after'.]

If you have a strange encounter account, please feel free to forward to me. The following accounts were recently forwarded to me:“Many years ago, I was filming a cluster of ladybugs in a bough inside a little groove by a river (countryside of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). Then I hear a sound of woman talking far away. I was with a friend, there was no woman there. When I saw the footage, in the forest there was a thing very similar to an invisible (Glimmer Man effect) predator from the movie (like if he had just jumped and fell in 2 feet in ground). Unfortunately, I lost the footage. The cellphone was very old so It could be a failure in the cellphone cam (old cellphone with a tiny colored screen). The thing appeared right in the moment when I hear the woman's voice (but we didn't see nothing strange at the time I was filming)” AD ----- September 28, 2021 – Berlin, Germany“Weird lady on the streets. Strange. So, I live in Berlin. This happened two days ago if I remember correctly. I went out to my local döner kebab shop to buy a döner. Now this shop is like a cart. Not really a shop in a building. It is in a very quiet street (small neighborhood street) where there is a crossroad. So I ordered my döner and was waiting for my order to be ready. I turn around and see, like 50 meters away, a woman coming closer. Lady in her 40s. She had the creepiest eyes that I have ever seen in my life. You know when you think to yourself: this dude is creepy, he might be a molester. Or this dude looks like a thug. That’s the kind of gut feeling I got. But in this case my gut was telling me that that lady wasn’t human. Now this woman looked normal. No dark eyes, no weird look. And that’s the weirdest thing about it. She had a normal look but somehow i kept thinking to myself that something was off. The only weird thing about her was that she limped a bit while walking. Anyway, I turn around to see if my kebab was ready and it wasn’t. The dude was still cutting the meat and so on. The next thing I see is this woman standing on the other side of the crossroad. Now the distance she traversed was something like 100 meters or so. Maybe 2-5 seconds passed for this to happen. And nobody can run that fast. Let alone, the woman was limping. Unfortunately the whole road was very empty with only some children playing far away and the dude at the kebab shop preparing the meat. And he didn’t see it. Any idea what that thing might have been? Or was it just me being paranoid about someone and maybe losing the sense of time for a while?” ----- “Short, glowing white being. Around 3 years ago, just outside of London, UK, a friend and I were going on a walk late at night through his backyard at his house we always hung out at. All of a sudden, i see him look over and say, “Bro, what is that?” I look over to see a white glowing humanoid being. It realized we saw it and froze with its arms out while we had a quick stare down. It then proceeded to run away at an incredible speed. We tried to chase it but it was far too fast. We both described the being as the same exact thing. Super short (around 3-4 ft) and a glowing white humanoid. Don’t know what to think of this. I’ve never had any other experiences with extraterrestrials or any paranormal beings. Very interesting to say the least. Weird how it was almost more fearful of us than we were of it. it looked like a blank body with no face/eyes/features at all. Like a short kid figure almost. Very similar to a human body shape wise and, yes, it was skinny. Makes you wonder. That it is my only singular paranormal/extraterrestrial experience. I would think once they know that you saw them they would continue to seek you? It all just leads to more and more questions.” ME ----- "Okay I'm going to tell this story once and only once it is by far the weirdest, creepiest and, more importantly, very fearful moment of my life.. All jokes aside. One night I was walking down the street after drop-off at the 24/7 at a laundromat. It was about 2:27 AM. I remember because I looked to turn on my flashlight. I heard first what sounded like an animal crying as if frightened and injured. Then I heard growls following by thumping and more growling. Then the poor animal crying and like a dog snarling, if you can picture it. I heard a few more thumps and the a crack, like bone cracking. I flash my light over a shed and saw some weird looking eyes - not glowing - but there. Suddenly a police vehicle rolled by and asked what I was doing and explained when they flashed their lights they just saw a glimpse of horns going over the shed. This occurred in East Boston, MA."
