Can be a new regular feature. If sky wants to do a separate locked thread. Originally I was known for this research doing monthly UFO maps of the world. JPEG only centered on North America, but can do maps of anywhere.
I am already beginning again to do these for the ARIRA website. I thought since these are mine, it is easy to post the same maps with different background colors here too. Might attract more visitors and members. I gather the information, it is all pasted into a MS Excel program, then the compatable MS Map Point program plots everything in a second or so.
A triangle symbol looked good, so I am using that. These are not representing triangle UFO's, but all sightings of all kinds for a given month.

I must admit, your credentials make those other dudes in the organization look like amateurs... call me biased. I am. Do you wish it to be on a locked thread so people like me can't post on it anymore? I can delete my posts if you wish me to. ~shrug~

By the way Steve, thank you for including Alaska. Too many people do not include it on their maps and it ticks me off. We're part of the US too... No sightings in Fairbanks this month huh? But four around the Kenai peninsula... and one near Juneau... ~rubs chin~

Lots of triangle sightings going on up there. I've been noticing triangle reports are increasing all over the place.

The new map for May shows that 282 fewer sightings were reported than in April. That's a pretty big decline. Does the number of sightings usually fluctuate that much from month to month?

It varies. In the summer months, more eyes are outside to see and report things. Though some unexpected months in the past have had noticeable spikes (January - middle of winter) comes to mind. Stephenville, Texas particularly in January 2009.
The map presents several American UFO data base (three) sources. The sames symbols are used for all the data bases, so one organization which starts with the letter 'M' does not in their current paranoid state object.
I always wanted and campaigned in the past to get a reliable data base from Mexico and Canada. So a comprehensive picture of the North American Continent could be created.
Canada has a number of data bases unfortunately, and no one seems willing to combine this data into one central reliable data base. In Mexico, I feel a great number of reports come from Mexico, but no one there seems willing to post them on the Internet. Many Mexican investigators also run into danger there along the Northern borders with the United States. The Mexican military / Federal police and the drug cartels are fighting a ruthless war there. Investigators are mistakenly taken for one or the other by both sides.
So yes, they fluctuate.

Yes, something in your neck of the woods Daisy... Three reports by the same witness. Near Ridgecrest, Ca. one on May 11, and two on May 21. Photos show objects in a loose formation. (seagulls). Sure is exciting! Steve And here are those extraterrestrials now!

hahahaah!
We saw the seagulls too. I think the wind must have blown them in!!!
And don't forget the geese. We have geese that winter over here near the sewage ponds.

according to the nuforc report count posted above it shows july having the most sightings. Im curious if part of those sightings are chinese lanterns used for the 4th of july celebration like steve had mentioned in the ifo section .

For some reason July 4 does have a big increase in UFO sightings. A lot of people report seeing colored fireballs in the air on that same date every year. I always assumed that they were just fireworks, or that the increase was caused by the fact that there are more people looking up in the air right around that time, but according to the UFO investigative agencies that is not the case. Some astronomers report an increased number of fireballs too .

I thought the July sightings increase was possible but now I believe. Wish I could access the report but I guess the MUFON board is gone once again. daisy

Here's the first report I made in July found at the National UFO Reporting Center:
Occurred : 7/1/2010 21:00 (Entered as : 07/01/10 21:00) Reported: 7/2/2010 12:52:05 PM 12:52 Posted: 7/6/2010 Location: I REMOVED LOCATION Shape: Circle Duration:1 1/2 hours Light flashes, dark grey "satellite", periwinkle blue and white "satellite"
It was a busy night star gazing as I saw numerous unusual sky phenomena between Scorpio and Corona Borealis. All this took place between 9 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. local time.
Around 9 p.m. I went out for my evening star gazing and watching the satellites go by.
At the start I saw what I can only describe as flashes of light in the sky. The flashes of light looked like a flash from a camera. Then I observed what I thought was a satellite until the satellite went from moving from a northern to southern direction to veering to a southwesterly direction. Satellites do not normally change their directional course as they cannot. They always move in the same direction without veering off course. This satellite seemed to be dark gray in color and was silhouetted against the night sky. I saw this with my naked eye.
Then I saw the similar flashes of light again. After this I saw another "satellite" that was moving across the sky. This time the satellite stopped, then let off a "pouf" of periwinkle to white color, then moved again.
I observed through binocs what seemed to be a lighted object with periwinkle and white lights. This satellite then moved and faded away.
Approximately a half hour later this same satellite reappeared towards the southwest portion of the sky and repeated the same set of movements and colorations before fading out.
I saw the flashes of light each time before the bluish white satellite reappeared.
This was also seen by another witness who was with me. This witness would like to remain anonymous.
I checked Heavens Above and could find nothing that might fit what we saw. Perhaps you can find something.
None of this stuff was close. It was all probably just inside the earth's atmosphere at a good guess.
Here's the second report:
Occurred : 7/5/2010 21:30 (Entered as : 07/05/10 21:30) Reported: 7/7/2010 11:10:35 PM 23:10 Posted: 7/10/2010 Location: I REMOVED LOCATION Shape: Light Duration:30 seconds White starlike object that pulsed twice while changing directions
White starlike object traveling east before making an arcing turn to head north to northeast. When make the turn the object flashed or pulsed two brighter white lights. Imagine seeing the landing lights on airplane except these lights were pure bright white light. The object headed in a northerly direction and behind several large trees never to be seen again.
Time of the sighting was around 9:30 p.m. (21:30) local time.
I checked Heavens Above and found nothing that may match this sighting.

How do you access the new board? daisy You can either access it from the MUFON home page right under the latest sightings map where it says "MUFON Forums" or you can just click on the link here. forums.mufon.com/There's not many people there right now. I didn't even know it was up until Spotless brought it to our attention. Only time will tell if this forum does any better than the last one. I guess it will depend on whether or not the BoD can stay out of the way.

Thanks for the monthly briefing, Steve. I see that the number of reports are going back up again. I wonder why so few of them involve entities or missing time? Only one alien out of more than 600 UFO sightings? Seems like there should be more than that.

Thanks Sky,
The lack of entity or missing time reports does not surprise me at all. The lack there of has been consistent since I began these maps.
One theory I have is there is a lag time between when a possible abduction may have occurred and when it is later even suspected by the adductee, much less reported. Memory blocks placed by the entities...and by the abductee themselves...a coping mechanism in the mind....can create a built in time delay of months, years....
Also, it is one thing to report an unusual object in the sky or on the ground and submit a report to any number of UFO data base websites. It is another to report being abducted by one of those objects and it's occupants. Who do you report that to? Are you sure it even happened? The OZ factor....doubts of ones own sanity... many things.
In the Travis Walton experience... circumstances were such that it was clear Travis had disappeared at the same time a close encounter with a UFO occurred too, witnessed by Travis's friends left behind to mark time.
In contrast, the Hill case in 1961, the couple remembered a close encounter with a UFO together alone, but many months or years passed before regressive hypnosis could explain it might be all part of some alien abduction. The regressive hypnosis and the resulting release of anxiety ..... from all the recurring nightmares, the strange irrational emotional triggers reacting fearfully to seemingly normal day to day happenings, the unresolved stresses, missing time ... now all put for once into some coherent, though admittedly highly strange context.
Abduction cases play out at a different pace than many UFO reports.
Sometimes abduction reports come to the surface quicker if the experiencer has had many such experiences in their past - and finally found someone to report them too right away.
Other times it is due to a experienced investigator, who in a UFO report recognizes certain red flag facts early in a typical sighting report. When the sighting involves a close encounter with a object - I mean very close....the investigator knows the probability of an abduction yet uncovered goes way way up exponentially.
UFO's are always stealthy in nature, if any opportunity should ever happen for a witness to get a real close and clear look, odds are unfortunately it is for a clear purpose on the part of 'the phenomenon' itself.
Most abductions probably go unreported.....remaining so forever....

That's true. I doubt that most people would report an abduction even if they were sure it had happened. That's not the type of thing people want to run around drawing attention to themselves over. And there aren't many places to report them to because not many people take abduction reports seriously. That is something that needs to change if the abduction mystery is ever going to be solved.

How often are abductions/visits reported ? How many ? Just curious . Very few it seems. One a month? Often in a report it is described as something of high strangeness, the witness submitting the report may not be real sure what really happened - sometimes called an 'OZ effect'. Missing time, a unconventional craft seen at close range, a strange little being seen (usually running away). If true - any one of these elements could suggest there is more than what first meets the eye. Many times these events are not reported immediately. Fear, anxiety, uncertainty (a dream?), doubts about one's sanity. Who do you report to? Once a relationship with an abduction researcher, a hypnotherapist, or investigator has been formed and confidences made, events may recur, but continuing reports to a data base cease since they are working with someone confidentially on a different level now. Hipaa privacy laws, general circumstances , and the lack of any uniform reporting system seem to prevent us accessing the extent of this phenomenon more accurately in the general population. Steve

thanks again Steve. I would truly like to see more people come forward, not only do I think it would help them on a personal level, but many others to fit the pieces together . We are fortunate to have a place to share these experiences,as strange as they may seem ,where people are understanding and caring. After reading about others experiences I realized that mine wasnt as unique as I had first suspected and that alot of us share common ground .

Interesting..... I guess Mufon's UFO Stalker Map is working---although there is a Wisconsin sighting showing up off the Western coast of Africa.....? However, I cannot access the "Last Twenty Reports List" or the CMS files. It keeps popping up the sighting report form....? I sent an e-mail to the webmaster for the site, but it was ignored.

Alright! The UFO maps are back! It looks like there has been a huge increase in the number of sightings over the past three months as well. The average number has doubled since June. Are you still using the same sources you were using before? I notice there is an "other" listed now. I wonder why the sudden increase?

Four sightings in Alaska this past month... interesting...
Two of them are in the Anchorage area... one in my area (read about that one already). Things seem to be picking up everywhere... even up here.
