therealmeninblack.blogspot.com/2011/05/real-men-in-black-coming-june-16.htmlThe Real Men in Blackby Nick Redfern Evidence, Famous Cases, and True Stories of These Mysterious Men and Their Connection to the UFO PhenomenaMonday, May 9, 2011 The Real Men in Black For decades - or perhaps even for centuries, some firmly believe - the infamous Men in Black have been elusive, predatory, fear-inducing figures that have hovered with disturbing regularity upon the enigmatic fringes of the subject of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs), coldly nurturing, and carefully weaving, their very own unique brand of horror and intimidation of a definitively other-world variety. The preferred tools of terror of the MIB are outright menace, far less than thinly-veiled threats, and overwhelming, emotionless intimidation. And they are relentless when it comes to following their one and only agenda - that is, to forever silence witnesses to, and investigators of, UFO encounters. Unfortunately, it has to be admitted, they have been highly successful in achieving their unsettling goal, too. Indeed, and without any shadow of doubt whatsoever, the long and winding history of UFO studies is absolutely littered with fraught, frightened and emotionally-shattered figures that have been forever menaced into silence by the Men in Black, and who, as a result, have firmly distanced themselves from the UFO controversy, vowing never, ever to return to the fold. Like true vampires from some strange, outer edge, the painfully-thin, white-faced and sunken-cheeked Men in Black appear from the murky darkness; they then roam the countryside provoking carnage, chaos, paranoia and fear in their notorious wake, before duly returning to that same shrouded realm of unsettling weirdness from which they originally oozed forth. Very often reported traveling in groups of three, this definitive trinity of evil seemingly has the incredible ability to appear and vanish at will, and is often seen – in the United States - driving 1950s-style black Cadillac’s, and - in the British Isles - 1960s-era black Jaguar’s, both of which are almost always described as looking curiously brand new. www.johnkeel.com/?p=679JOHN KEEL NOT AN AUTHORITY ON ANYTHING Thursday, May 26, 2011 Were Some “Men In Black” Ufologists With Asperger’s?Many readers of The Mothman Prophecies will remember a disturbing “Man In Black” named “Tiny,” who visited a family in New Jersey in 1967. (It’s in Chapter 8, if you want to look it up.) John sent a detailed report of this encounter to other researchers shortly after it happened. He included some details that didn’t make it into the book, such as Tiny’s penchant for sing-song recitations of verse. One of these researchers, Charles Bowen (the editor of Flying Saucer Review), wrote back to say that Tiny reminded him of an unpleasant UFO buff who had visited him the year before. Do we, then, have an explanation for one of these creepy visits? I’ll reproduce the relevant section of the letter below. After some reflection (and discussion with someone who knew Bowen’s visitor), I’ve decided to delete the name. As you can gather, the man in question is not a healthy specimen, and nothing would be gained by naming him. And don’t fret, the actual letter was not harmed in the deletion process. It’s dated July 3, 1967. TO CONTINUE READING CLICK ON ABOVE LINK

newpagebooks.blogspot.com/2011/05/recent-visits-from-real-men-in-black.htmlThursday, May 26, 2011 Recent Visits from the Real Men in BlackThe Men in Black were elevated to superstar status in 1997 in the hit movie of the same name. Although the Hollywood blockbuster was fiction, the real Men in Black have consistently attempted to silence the witnesses of UFO and paranormal phenomena since the 1950s. This partial excerpt from Redfern's The Real Men in Black which releases in June discusses a recent case and experience with this ominous force. Chapter 11: MIB in the New Millennium (2000s)Raven Meindel, a cryptozoologist, writer, radio host, and Wiccan priestess who resides in Michigan and, in 2010, was featured on the History Channel’s Monster Quest series pursuing bloodthirsty werewolves, says, “I’ve been interested in paranormal things and UFOs for years, but when I got involved in doing it more seriously, with research and writing, and in a career-like manner, that’s when really strange things started to happen, including a Men in Black experience in April 2008.” Meindel’s experience was preceded by a decidedly unusual occurrence in the family home: A week before she had her Men in Black confrontation, her husband, Adam, felt a rush of wind go past him inside the apartment, while the pair was standing there, talking. Meindel is sure that the air-conditioning was not on, and no windows were open. It felt, said Adam, just like someone had brushed by, walking briskly past him. Whatever the cause of the odd event, it was an uncanny precursor to the mayhem that was soon to follow, as Meindel makes graphically clear: “On April 16, about 5:30 p.m., two men, dressed all in black, came out of the apartment across from where we were living at the time. The odd thing about this is that no one was living in that apartment then. They walked away and got into a black Lincoln. And when they walked past, I was outside playing with a Frisbee with a neighborhood kid. The Frisbee was called an Alien Flyer, which had an alien face on it, which I thought was a very odd synchronicity.” TO CONTINUE READING CLICK ON ABOVE LINK

mysteriousuniverse.org/2011/05/the-grinning-man-alien-apparition-or-mib/#more-5378 The Grinning Man: Alien, Apparition or MIB?May 31st in Bizarre by Rob Morphy I can think of a lot of things that I would prefer not to bump into on a dark night… a gang of vicious thugs, a dead body, an escaped mental patient who ran out of anti-psychotic meds… the list goes on and on, but there’s one thing in particular that fills me with more dread than all the rest. It’s a strange and enigmatic entity that just a handful of folks have claimed to have encountered; a terrifying being that has shown up in many places and who is known by many names, but needs only one… “The Grinning Man.” So why does this “thing” freak me out so much? Honestly, I’m not really sure. Aside from a few unsubstantiated rumors involving this entity chasing or “brutally beating” people, there are no official accounts of it attacking anyone. It’s just sort of, well… creepy… like seriously creepy. Before we delve any deeper, let me describe this not-so gentle giant for you: Eyewitnesses claim that the Grinning Man is a looming figure who stands well over 6-feet tall. His head is said to be devoid of any hair and his dark, beady eyes are nestled unnaturally far apart in his domed skull. Some observers are so perturbed that they are later unable to recall whether he even had a nose or ears, but — as disturbing as that may be — far and away his most disconcerting characteristic is the wide, hideous, shark-like grin that is perpetually plastered across his face. Renowned paranormal investigator and “Mothman Prophecies” author, John Keel, is considered to be the first researcher to mention the creature (or, more likely than not, creatures) that have collectively come to be known as the Grinning Man. In his seminal tome on unnatural entities, “The Complete Guide to Mysterious Beings,” Keel discusses what is believed to be the first modern run-in with this peculiar entity. The encounter occurred in Elizabeth, New Jersey, at approximately 9:45 pm. on the night of October 11th, 1966. Two boys — Martin “Mouse” Munov and James “Jimmy” Yanchitis — were walking home along New Jersey and 4th Street when they turned onto a road that ran adjacent to the elevated New Jersey Turnpike. There was a treacherously steep 30-foot slant running from the hectic turnpike above them all the way down to the tall wire fence that ran parallel to the route that Munov and Yanchitis were walking. The decline on the other side of the fence was so steep that the boys had never even seen anyone attempt to scale it, nor had they ever seen anyone on the opposite side of the rusted fence… but this night would prove to be an exception to the rule. Both Munov and Yanchitis were nervous as they slipped in and out of the pools of light cast by the streetlamps above, as they had heard that a neighborhood woman had been chased by a “tall, green man” earlier that evening in the same area. Little could the boys predict when they stopped to catch their breath a few moments later that their date with the unknown would be about to begin. It was Yanchitis who first noticed the ominous humanoid figure standing in the thick scrub brush behind Munov on the opposite side of the fence. He appeared to be ignoring the boys and staring at a house across the road. Yanchitis would later describe the smirking brute for both the police and Keel: “He was strangest guy we’ve ever seen… He was standing behind that fence. I don’t know how he got there. He was the biggest man I ever saw.” The anxious Yanchitis wasted no time in alerting his unwary pal about the scary silhouette that was stationed behind him. Munov slowly turned and saw a huge figure clad in a green, one-piece suit that seemed to be reflecting the streetlight above. Munov’s account is in his report to the police: TO CONTINUE READING CLICK ON THE ABOVE LINK

Dudes dressed up like the Blues Brothers...that appear after encounters sound more to me like some 3 letter investigators rather than 'aliens'. When my friend and I had our encounter..what sticks in my brain were coincidental happenings of the day. A note in a window talking about FBI being 'after' someone for taking something. That was creepy enough to give memory to that day without the rest of it. When we noticed the missing time and headed at a run for home..there was a black sedan driving up toward the house. When we were seen racing across the field they stopped and got out and 4 men in black suits yelled at us...motioned for us to come back. Right. We had horses..they had a sedan..the field had rocks and gopher holes. We didn't hang around to visit but I sort of wish we had in retrospect..shrug. I've always been sure they were FBI agents after the guys who had committed some crime and the creepy little sadists happened to land in their backyard and we happened to wander along like a pair of young fools experiencing a chain of misfortunes

www.unexplainable.net/UFO-Alien/The-Giggling-Men-in-Black.shtmlUFOlogists have for years reported strange encounters with men in suits who appear seemingly out of nowhere with a wealth of information that seems far beyond what any known government agency could have acquired without an extensive and all encompassing surveillance of the entire world. And yet these seemingly omniscient visitors don’t always act the same way the media depicts them. These dark clad G-men sometimes break character in bizarre and sometimes disturbing ways. Such is the case with the giggling MIB. Our impression of these mysterious shadowy figures is so entrenched in the mythology of the UFO field that seeing them do anything different than the standard stern staring is strange enough. But it’s even stranger, perhaps that this change in behavior is not actually even uncommon. When the men in black appear they often are reported to behave strangely. Sometimes one will do the majority of the talking while another stands nearby and starts laughing as though they are in a constant state of losing their minds. While this might be humorous, strange, or even fodder for skeptics believing the phenomenon to be the result of a hoax, it’s evidence that these figures are not who they claim to be to others. And as with everything in UFO folklore, this too is quickly analyzed by researchers as they interrogate witnesses. But the behavior doesn’t stop as a simple snicker. The figures are also said to have an overwhelming appearance of being out of place, often switching accents, quickly forgetting how to use even basic items such as doors, and marveling at items such as clocks and shoelaces. The result is a perception that the MIBs may not only be new to this world, but operating in entirely new bodies themselves. They’re said to tie their ties and shoes wrong often, and interact with simple artifacts such as glass ash trays as though they are somehow significant artifacts. Reminds me of the Mork and Mindy show when Mork (Robbin Williams) gave himself away to grandma by taking her to an art museum and being most interested in the air conditioner. I don't really remember the other shows or even all of this one. It seemed to "make sense" to me - that imposters might have the general act down but get caught in the details of everyday life.
Mind you, when I was doing Internet dating (prior to now husband) I met people who were wacky enough to be aliens (but probably weren't). There are a lot of weird humans around too.

If there is one thing I've finally gotten through my thick skull..it's that people don't process the same way. One thing can appear in many different versions. To the 'weird' we may seem weird. To those who have no faith or belief in God..those who do are strange..to those who have no interest or belief in UFO's..this forum would be ridiculous to those who 'think' easily in mathematics..those of us who don't speak the language are hopelessly odd. It's all perspective. The phrase like minded people comes to mind..we see out others who tend to share our views and we don't feel so alone or odd...and even then sometimes it's a shock if someone doesn't see something quite as we do. We do have variety

www.ufoevidence.org/documents/doc1700.htm The Men in BlackAndrew Mann While attempting to do a bit of research on the MiB, I have had quite a bit of trouble. Everywhere I looked, I kept getting sites that were all about the Movie "Men in Black." Well, guess what. This article is about the real deal. Most of the information comes from stuff that I already know, while the rest comes from the Krill Report. If something is in quotations and is in italics, it was copied and pasted directly from the Krill Report. If anyone can find any other site with some information about the MiB, please send me a link and I'll add to my 'report'. *note-the Krill Report was found to be all fictional. Still, it's interesting to read and this was meant to be more of a fun article anyway. The first recorded appearance of the Men in Black occurred in 1947 at Maury Island, the site at which a flying disk ejected some debris that would later on be recovered by some men. The men loaded the debris into an Army aircraft. The military craft crashed as soon as it took off. Some regard the mysterious Men in Black as "galactic enforcers." Their main goal seems to be to make sure that people who have seen something they are not supposed to have seen, or somehow acquired information that they are not supposed to know, keep their mouths shut. A typical Men in Black goes a little something like this; a man is out minding his own business when suddenly he comes upon something strange. He sees a mysterious object floating through the sky, followed by what appear to be military aircraft. He goes back home, eager to tell every single person on the face of the Earth about the incredible sight that he stumbled upon. Before he gets the chance to tell anyone, he is visited by odd-looking men that tell him the smallest details about his experience, even though he has yet to tell anyone. There are reports that the Men in Black have sometimes posed as salesmen or something else not very threatening. The Men in Black will then make it clear to the witness that he is to keep what he saw to himself. Or else. They will then erase any evidence of the strange activities that have occurred, and leave. "To illustrate a little how bizarre some of the incidents are regarding the MiB, I have assembled a short list of some of the more interesting factors in some cases: -An ex-Air Force man is gassed and interrogated by MiB after he has learned classified NASA secrets. -Closeup photos of UFOs were seized from a teenager who is also directly threatened by MiB. -MiB sighted in the lobby of the U.S. State Department leaves a mysterious artifact. -MiB pose as Air Force officers to silence witnesses. -MiB tries to buy before-hours Coke and sings to birds in trees. -MiB disintegrates a coin in a witness' hand and tells him that his heart will do the same if he talks. There are other cases of appearing on the other side of a wet, muddy field after a heavy rain, but having no mud whatever on their brightly shined shoes and in the bitter cold, out of nowhere, wearing only a thin coat. Their shoes and wallets all seem new and hardly broken in." Not only do the Men in Black have a habit of paying people little 'visits' from time to time, they also sometimes have a tendency to harass people from a distance. Researchers and witnesses have reported bizarre phone calls from men un-human, metallic voices, and have complained about their mail going amiss at an unusually high rate. These same people have been led to believe that their phones have been tapped because of unusual noises that intensify at the mentioning of UFOs and voices breaking in on conversations. The Men in Black get their name from the fact that they like to wear, well, black. They have pale, greyish skin, and some have been reported to have blonde hair. Their clothes seem to have been made of an unknown, thin, shiny material. It seems like the stereotypical Man in Black wears a suit with a black tie and black sun glasses. I'm not sure if the real Men in Black really dress like that, or that's just a stereotype that many people latch onto simply because that's how they were in the movie Men in Black. Men in Black (the movie) might have portrayed the characters like that just to make them look 'cool'. I have even heard that some people have seen the Men in Black traveling with a little companion; the stereotypical little grey alien with a big head and big, slanted black eyes. Of course, any alien that travels with the Men in Black dresses in black just as they do. They speak like a computer; dull and monotonous, and are "dark-complected with high cheekbones, thin lips, pointed chin, and eyes that are mildly slanted." Their favorite mode of transportation are big, black cars, such as Lincolns, Cadillacs, and Buicks. The cars normally have the headlights off, but with the interior lit by a strange greenish or purple glow. Unusually insignia have been seen on the doors, and the license plates can never be traced or identified. TO CONTINUE READING CLICK ON ABOVE LINK

mysteriousuniverse.org/2011/07/how-old-are-the-men-in-black/#more-6186 How old are the Men in Black? Jul 19th in UFO Phenomenon by Nick Redfern Now, by asking the question directly above, I’m not actually wondering if the MIB are in their 20s, 30s, or 40s etc! Rather, I’m pondering on this issue: for how long has the Men in Black phenomenon (or, perhaps, phenomena might be a far more accurate word to use) been amongst us? Many would say it began in the late-1940s, or early 1950s, with the likes of Albert Bender, founder of the International Flying Saucer Bureau. But they might be wrong. In fact, they might be very wrong. Nigel Wright is a long-time UFO researcher based in England, and – with Jonathan Downes, the director of the British-based Center for Fortean Zoology - the co-author of the book, The Rising of the Moon, which is a fine study of paranormal phenomena that I recommend to one and all. In their book, Nigel cites a report that he found within the May 21, 1909 edition of England’s Exmouth Journal newspaper, and, to which, are attached definitive MIB overtones. Titled Invasion Scares – Queer Stories from Humberside, the article reads as follows: “A strange story was told the Yorkshire Post, Grimsby correspondent by workmen from Killingholm near Immingham new dock works on Tuesday night. They declared that they were seated at noon on the roadside at Killingholm, when a large motor car drove up and two men alighted who walked to the bank on which the workmen were seated and asked if any airships had been recently seen near. The workmen replied: ‘No’, whereupon the motorists asked the distance between Killingholm and Spurn, and whether any mines were laid in the Humber between the two places. The workmen referred their interrogators to a coastguard, saying he would be able to answer them. It does not matter,’ replied the motorists, and, after enquiring the way to the nearest refreshment house, they jumped into their car and drove quickly away.” A Man in Black-type character had been seen a few years previously, in the early 1900s, skulking in sinister, and near-Machiavellian, fashion around the bleak, dark hills and valleys of Wales, United Kingdom, at the very same time that a whole variety of unidentified aerial phenomena was also putting in a decidedly unwelcome appearance. Monsters and Men in Black Sep 4th in Cryptozoology & UFO Phenomenon by Nick Redfern What do you do when faced with a story that is not just downright bizarre, but that blends issues relative to both Ufology and Cryptozoology into the mix? Well, I know what some researchers do (because they’ve told me!): they ignore them, largely because such reports don’t fall into the nice, relaxed, comfort zones they have carefully cultivated. Fortunately, I have no need nor desire for comfort zones, and I see no reason at all why we should self-enforce rigid belief-systems on phenomena we’re still trying to grasp. So, with that said, read on… In the summer of 1968, a man named Alistair Baxter – who had a lifelong interest in tales and legends of lake monsters and sea serpents – traveled to Loch Ness, Scotland and spent nine weeks armed with a camera and binoculars, while quietly and carefully monitoring the loch for any unusual activity of the beastly variety. Baxter never did see the elusive creatures of Loch Ness, but he did speak with numerous people who had seen them. And, after being at the loch-side almost constantly for five weeks, a decidedly unusual event occurred. Baxter was awoken in the middle of the night by a curious humming sound that was emanating from a bright, small, ball of light about the size of a football that – at a height of around fifteen feet from the ground – was slowly and carefully making its way through the surrounding trees that enveloped Baxter’s modestly sized tent. Suddenly, and without any warning, the ball of light shot into the sky to a height of several hundred feet and hovered in deathly silence over the still waters of Loch Ness. For reasons that Baxter was at a loss to explain, he felt an overwhelming urge to go back to sleep and the next thing he knew it was daybreak. But the strangeness had barely begun. Shortly after breakfast three men in black suits appeared outside of Baxter’s tent seemingly out of nowhere and proceeded to ask him if he had seen anything unusual during the night. He replied that he hadn’t, at which point one of the three men then turned to his two colleagues and made what Baxter said was “a strange smile.” The man turned to face Baxter. “We might return,” said one of the mysterious men in black and all three departed by simply walking off into the woods. They never did return, perhaps fortunately for Baxter. Most interesting of all was the fact that for the following three nights, Baxter had a recurring and frightening dream of a large and lumbering ape-man pacing outside of his tent and that then headed down to the shores of the loch, whereupon, under a star-lit sky, it would tilt its head back, wail loudly and stand staring at the ink-black water. www.ufodigest.com/article/childhood-encounter-man-black-mib A Childhood Encounter with a Man in Black (M.I.B.) Submitted by Mary Alice Bennett on Wed, 11/02/2011 My friend of five years just happened to mention, after cleaning out her attic, that her father corresponded with George Adamski and that she had visited his home near Palomar Observatory. She then went on to relate that she had met a “Man in Black” while accompanying her dad during his meetings with his engineer friends. MEN IN BLACK Here are her notes to me: “I'm still attic-bound and have been finding amazing things of my father's - I have something set aside to send to you, I believe you will find it interesting (it was an early issue of “UFO Magazine” from 1968 featuring an article on the Men in Black). I found all sorts of correspondence with Adamski - I recall visiting him at his place in the `50s near Palomar Observatory. We even met one of the Men in Black on one occasion - his name was “Lev”.” I wrote back saying that some people consider the Men in Black to be entities who are not of this world, and she replied: “Yes, I met Lev and my father considered him to be an alien - he shook my hand and he had silky soft hands and I will never forget that - he was hairless all over - I was about 9 or 10 when I experienced this which means it was about 1953 or 54. I know my dad met him in a small house near the supermarket we shopped at which was on Sepulveda Blvd. I don't know how my dad knew he was there - or what they talked about. Maybe a few weeks/months later he surfaced again at a house we "gathered" at regularly - my dad's friend was an electrical engineer and was trying experiments to transmit and receive television signals from space. I remember staring at the tube and trying to make sense of the static. The guy's name was Charlie Artz - and Lev came to the house one time. It was a weird time. Get hard copy! Signed affidavit.
I've dreamed about being taken for a ride by the MIB. However I have seen some MIB - not a UFO related experience (I don't think anyway) but scarey. My friends live in Texas and have a cabin in the mountains of New Mexico. I visited them in 2003 (maybe 04). We drove past the White Sands Missle area which was posted with signs that said that tresspassers would be shot. However the desert was full of blooming flowers and we stopped so I could pick a few (we had a container of water ready for them). While out of the car, attempting to snip off very thorny desert poppies, I went under a bridge that crossed an arroyo because there were promising rocks showing. Meanwhile a black car with tinted black windows stopped on the other side of the road and my friend started honking her horn as she was freaked out. It sure looked government. I kinda waved at the men inside (while clutching flowers and rocks) and they stared at me stonily. Enforcers of some sort for sure. My friend wasn't happy about the fact that they obviously took her license number. I had not crossed any fences but apparently even STOPPING in this area is not OK.

www.ufodigest.com/article/theyve-come-take-you-away They've Come To Take You Away Submitted by Tim Beckley on Fri, 01/27/2012 - 10:34 Special Book Excerpt From CURSE OF THE MEN IN BLACK – RETURN OF THE UFO TERRORISTSby Timothy Green Beckley One by one they have given up their research, perhaps even their lives! Forced to go underground because of threats from the shadowy beings known as the Men In Black. Are these sinister individuals simply government agents gone amuck in their harassment of witnesses and investigators who have dedicated their lives delving into the unexplainable mysteries of the universe? Or are they something far more sinister as evidence in this book indicates? Perhaps the MIB are representatives of an extraterrestrial “police force,” whose job it is to keep the gates to a parallel universe closed tightly behind them. Over the years I have collected hundreds of MIB reports. I even appeared on the History Channel’s UFO Hunters with a photo I had taken in Jersey City, NJ in the mid 1960s of one of these out of time and out of place beings. The state of Arizona has always been a hotbed (pardon the expression) of UFO activity. Maybe it has something to do with Wendelle Stevens living there (only kidding Wendelle), but nevertheless I can remember a handful of MIB reports being handed to me. Take for example the case of a Tucson newsboy, Warren Weisman who was delivering the Daily Star on Feb 19, 1979 at around 6 AM when he saw an odd looking object crash into a parked car at the side of the road. According to a newspaper account this is his story: “I was on Winstel Blvd when I saw this ‘falling star’ come from the sky. It was traveling at great speed and landed about a block away. It smashed the back of a white Volkswagen, throwing off its right rear wheel, rolled off the car and knocked over a mailbox on a post nearby.” The ten year old fifth grader said the object was about the size of a microwave oven, was black, shiny, and had lots of “lava-like” holes all around it. Weisman said the object was smoking when he walked over to it. As he bent over to examine his unusual find a brown pulled up and says the witness, “A skinny man in a brown suit and white shirt got out of the car. He was an FBI-type. He told me, “Why don’t you go ahead and deliver the rest of the papers?” As he stood talking to the man, what Warren thinks was a Pima County Sheriff’s car pulled up along side the brown car. “I was afraid that the man in the brown suit was going to pull a gun,” Warren said. He quickly departed from home to tell his mother about what had happened. Twenty minutes later, he returned to the scene of the “crash” with his mother. “All we found was the tire and the broken mailbox.” The smashed car and the smoking object had totally vanished without a trace. Interviewed later, the boy claimed he had put a small chip from the object into his pocket while looking it over. However, when he got hom a little while later it was gone. “I don’t know what happened to it,” he confessed. “I didn’t have any holes in my pocket from which it could have fallen to the ground.” What at first might seem to be a tale story fabricated by a highly imaginative youth has additional verification in that there were other witnesses to the event. cnufos.ning.com/profiles/blogs/the-untold-story-of-the-men-in-blackTHE UNTOLD STORY OF THE "MEN IN BLACK" * Posted by Cnufos on March 10, 2012 We've all heard of the mysterious Men in Black who visit researchers and contactees of unidentified flying objects, but the phenomenon has an untold history that rarely comes to light in circles of either skeptics or believers. The real story of the Men in Black has always been lurking in the background, hiding behind eyewitness accounts and dismissals by skeptics, threatening to rise up again and be noticed. It all started in 1947. Generally when referring to the Men in Black, the most widely accepted explanation has to do with a secret shadowy government agency designed to discredit and threaten UFOlogists and witnesses to unexplained phenomena. But this might not be the whole story, as accounts by different authors have suggested. And in the end, there may be many different groups operating with completely different intentions and origins now under the umbrella term "MIB." The phenomenon has spurred several references in popular culture, books, a comic series, and even three films. But who are the people who have actually seen these mystery men in dark suits, and where could they have come from originally? The men started appearing just after 1947, when many early UFO witnesses and researchers began receiving appearances by mysterious figures who asked questions, made statements and suggestions (sometimes even threats) and then left in the night leaving no trace of their visits. The MIBs have been described as behaving erratically, sometimes completely solemn and other times letting out off-putting cackles of laughter. In earlier times, a visit by a strange man dressed all in black might be interpreted as a visit by "Old Scratch," or as he was known in some circles, the Devil. Some researchers of the UFO phenomenon, such as John Keel, have even suggested that this trickster spirit may be manifesting in the 20th and 21st centuries as a man dressed in a black suit and fedora with the same nefarious intentions as before. Indeed, a number of witnesses have described a near paranormal ability to disappear during the incidents. Others have suggested the MIBs could have come from an old military program designed to quell public interest in the UFO phenomenon. If the Men in Black were somehow connected to the military, all attempts to verify who the individuals are by the public have met with failure, with identification often leading on a wild goose chase back to individuals that are long since retired or who never existed to begin with. I knew a person in the military who claimed that he was deep in the jungle doing secret illegal activities. I am leaving out many details intentionally. He was with two others who reported to him. They were surprised by two men in black suits, immaculately dressed. They would have heard a car for miles and there were no roads for a car to be on. A helicopter would have been heard for many many miles. The men handed him a copy of the orders for their next mission, verified that he memorized them, then took them back and disappeared into the jungle. Several things freaked him out. First, then men stealthily walked up to them, when they would normally have noticed and probably shot anyone who got even close. Second, their exact location was not even clearly known to them, since they had been in the jungle for days, hunting their food. Finally, the men were not even sweating and their cloths showed no signs of moving through the jungle. He claimed even their shoes were shiny and black. Just a curious story, but one I believe happened.
I do not think that there was anything 'alien' about the men. In protecting the national interest, there are specially trained people with nearly unlimited resources. They have employed the best psychological advisers and have a high probability that their actions have the effect they desire. In this case, the military personnel did what they were told to do. The surprise factor and out of context nature of the MIB encounter reinforced the fact that superiors were watching and that the orders should be strictly followed.

Wow! On a more mundane note: MIB III is coming out this summer - original actors although they are using a younger stand in for flashbacks to the younger Tommy Lee Jones. I'll be there - in the dark. I'd like to think that Tommy Lee Jones has my back. Nice thought.

www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/23/men-in-black-inspired-ufos-government-agents_n_1536996.html 'Men In Black' Inspired By Scary Stories Of People Who've Seen UFOs Lee Speigel lee.speigel@huffingtonpost.com Posted: 05/23/2012 When "Men in Black 3" opens everywhere over Memorial Day weekend, most moviegoers will just be hoping this sequel matches the original for popcorn-munching fun. But there are many people who say they've been victimized by and live in fear of real MIBs. And those stories, told for decades, are just as terrifying as they are detailed. Ever since the early 1950s, long before the first "Men in Black" movie hit the silver screen in 1997, men dressed in identical black suits, hats and sunglasses, claiming to be government agents, have reportedly shown up in black cars at the homes or offices of people who reported UFO sightings. According to those who were paid these unwelcome visits, the MIBs threatened or harassed the eyewitnesses into staying quiet about their UFO encounters.
Watch some reported Men in Black encounters: The Men In Black 1947: Harold Dahl reported seeing a group of UFOs while he was on a boat in Washington's Puget Sound. Soon after, he said, he was approached by a black-suited individual who threatened him and his family if he ever talked again about the UFO sighting. 1967: Robert Richardson was driving his car at night in Toledo, Ohio, when he hit something, which, he claimed, then vanished. He found a piece of metal that he believed originated from the mysterious thing he hit. A few days later, two men, wearing black hats and sunglasses and driving a black 1953 Cadillac, visited Richardson at his home at 11 p.m. to ask questions. A week later, two other men arrived, dressed in black suits, and asked Richardson to turn over the metal to them. When he informed them he had sent it for analysis, he said, they threatened to harm his wife if he didn't get it back. He never heard from them again. But why? Who were -- and, in some cases, still are -- these strange individuals who give out seemingly meaningless warnings about UFO sightings and try to intimidate people? "They are the archetypal sinister person who turns up on the doorstep specifically in relation to a UFO encounter," said Nick Redfern, author of "The Real Men in Black" (New Page Books, 2011). "People who have been visited by MIB tend to fall into two categories: One is the UFO witnesses. The other category is researchers who've been visited," Redfern told The Huffington Post. After digging closely into the history of many reported MIB encounters, Redfern (pictured below) thinks he has a good handle on what may be going on. nick redfern "What we have, I'm pretty sure, is a sort of covert department or office or personnel within the official infrastructure. There are people who dress in black deliberately and go around and threaten people in certain circumstances relative to UFOs," he suggested. "And they look like what you see in the 'Men in Black' movies. They look like agents of the government, like [actors] Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. And they issue veiled warnings not to talk about their UFO encounter." But then there are the creepier MIB stories that emerge. I had an experience with men in black but I'm pretty convinced they were FBI. I had dreams about them also concerned with my dad when he was ill. Mostly where they are concerned..I look forward to the new MIB movie Look into the Katherine Francovich case. It's similar to yours. I don't think they are FBI but a secret organization either complicit or knowledgeable about the ET's/abductions.

I saw on the news a couple days ago that Will Smith was in Russia for some thing about the new MIB movie (I have no idea what it was... a gathering or a screening or something...) and he slapped a male Russian journalist for trying to kiss him on the mouth... ~shakes head~ Americans really need to understand that Europeans are "touchy feely" people like me... very unlike most of us in America... But I can't really blame him for reacting that way... I'm sure he's been molested by crazed fans in the USA before... it's probably a knee-jerk reaction for him...

Fans get to thinking celebrities are 'public domain'. I'm not a touchy-feely type and hugs even come hard for me ..I just wasn't raised that way but I know others are so when hugged by my over-huggy neighbor I just grit my teeth and bear it. I couldn't possibly multiply that by thousands and I'd have slugged the reporter too LOL.

My sister is that way too Jo... she used to slug me all the time when I tried to give her a hug... as a child and as a teen... now as an adult she grits and bears it sometimes... but other times she still pushes me away... ...I wasn't raised that way either... I have never seen either of my parents kiss. Ever. Touching is not a normal thing in my family... I think that's why I crave it so much... a forbidden fruit complex or something... ~shrug~ It might also be for the soothing effect because of how nervous I am most of the time too... heh... I should ask my therapist I'm sure she has an educated-sounding answer whether it's true or not it will be interesting methinks... ;D She's not Freudian so she won't tell me it has to do with sex maybe... lol...

I also was not raised in a hugging environment, but I am a hug type person. My wife hates it when people she does not know well hug her. I think it is just a personal thing. European men usually kiss each other on the cheek, my Italian grandfather did this occasionally, but most of my family thought it strange and avoided it. I guess the tendency to hug is not a commonality to experiences.
