What I love about that cartoon posted, is where "lorelei" (hee, hee) stops for a sec and seems to be saying " la, la, la, la, . . . " at the top of her voice. Then bounces about ;D more.
Lois, did you ever see the movie "Love Potion #9" with Sandra Bullock and Tate Donovan as the main characters? There is a comical point where "Tate" is handcuffed to a chair at the police station, and he does his best to plug his ears and yell la,la, la, or something like that, to keep from getting under the "spell" in this movie.
With lois and I's supersonic hearing, I can imagine us doing the same thing (to keep out unwanted noises).
Orange Glowing Objects followed by blue-strobing parallelogram: -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
About 2 weeks ago on the evening of Oct. 20 I took my dogs outside and looked around the sky and I saw these 2 orange glowing objects about the same brightness as jupiter descend from about 30* heading towards a farm house about 1/4-1/2 mile away but it might have been further.
They were side by side and then the object to the right went above the other and one went close to the surface or maybe a few feet above and kept stationary while the other hovered, and then went up and down many times and sometimes blinked and changed magnitude.
Me and my dogs watched this and then many dogs started barking all around including mine continuously for several minutes while this orange ball was moving around .
I went back in the house to get the camera and started filming both videos and taking pictures for several more minutes watching this object go up and down and hover above the distant tree line. At one point it started hovering even closer but still at a distance and my dogs frantically ran towards the front door which is not like them at all to want to go back inside .
While filming a video trying to capture them I then got an eerie feeling like something was approaching me and I started heading back towards the door and let the dogs in. I then peeked my head back outside and heard a sound like static or something electrical so I quickly closed the door and went to our bedroom where my fiance is and grabbed a weapon and told her what was happening.
I ran out of memory card so I reloaded another from our other camera and she didnt want me to go back out but I wanted to try and get more footage. After a few more minutes went by I went back out and looked and then could only see one from a distance through the trees.
My fiance asked the neighbors and they just got home and said they had seen helicopters on their way back. I couldnt hear these and I can hear helicopters from the local hospital miles away as its taking off because of the rural location in the country where we live. I could also hear cars heading north on the highway nearby slowing down so I figure others had to have seen them also. Unfortunately the video and the pics didnt show anything, but there may be one picture that does, not sure. It certainly doesnt depict what I saw. I cant imagine why the camera didnt show the images better unless the settings were off.
When I went back out the last time there were four blue strobe lights in the sky flashing but didnt make a noise in the same place where these were what appeared to be structured like a parallelogram.
Another thing worth mentioning is when I first saw the two descending a beautiful meteor about the same brightness and color flew right towards them .
In an attempt to describe what I saw on the night of Oct. 20th, 2011, I drew several pics on the computer ( about 50) and composited them into a movie.
In the video they dont move in cadence like they did in the actual sightings, they also blinked more, and the object at top kept dancing back and forth.
I tried to recreate these the best I could in about 5 minutes compared to what I actually saw for well over 30 minutes. This is my 1st computer drawings and second movie Ive created so Im still new at this . It would depict better if they moved a bit quicker.
@ Lorelei : They came from a higher altitude ( about 2500 ft. ?) then what I portrayed. I think its safe to say they were 2 seperate objects working together . Im thinking the object with the strobing lights was possibly a mothership collecting the probes,,,as strange as that sounds,, its the only explanation I can come up with.
@ Jo : The color is accurate Jo. This is basically how they appeared. If you make the movie go faster by using your cursor it will have a more realistic effect to how it looked that night.
This was a fun, time consuming project I had been working on for some time and hope to make more in the future with better effects,,, hopefully.
I hope to recreate the perseid ufo next but that will require knowing how to speed up the frames because that thing was fast. When Im done with it, ill ask the other witness what he thinks of it and have him possibly comment here about it. Hes already said he would answer any questions as to what we saw that night concerning that ufo . Scary stuff.

During my second marriage ( about 12 ? years ago, around the time of the grays encounter ),,my xxs kids who were about ages 5 and 7 were outside playing in the yard and I got a very bad feeling like something was out in the woods nearby so I told them to get closer to the house away from the lagoon and wooded area.
As they proceeded close to the house I went and examined the area and as I walked up to the lagoon I saw a black panther close to where they were at. It was stalking my step kids. I froze when I saw it. It had already seen me and was heading back into the woods and looked over at me as I stared at it and watched it disappear in the thick brush.
Somehow that day I knew something was there. Panther are highly uncommon in this area. Its not my 1st sighting. This was my second run in with them over the years .

K this makes me just a little irked. Sure I'm good enough to abduct..good enough to have my ears stuffed with 'junk' good enough to leave burns on my neck..but never good enough to put a light show on for. Creepy little selfish gits..hope you run outta gas next to some really inhospitable planet

In all honesty Jo, I personally do not want to ever see anything like this again . Besides the visit from the beings there are at least 3 sightings (ufo's) that I cannot explain. There are others that I question. The 3 I cannot find any explanation for are :
1.The Perseid ufo-2 witnesses
2. The 2 orange objects followed by blue strobing lights-Possibly many witnesses but besides the ufo flap reports throughout Missouri and other similar sightings, Im the only one that I know of in this area that has come forward so far regarding this particular one.
3.The disappearing triangle-
Until anyone witnesses any of this with their own eyes,,,I dont expect knowone to believe any of it. My purpose for disclosing all of this from the get go was to simply let people be aware of what's happening and then let them draw their own conclusions.
Since I started looking into other peoples sightings and abduction stories Ive seen some that seemed far out of reality but then I went back and looked at my own and I too realize how far out my own are,,,,yet I know undoubtedly what happened . Many of the reports Ive read from others seem to describe eerily similar ,,,if not exact descriptions to what Ive personally witnessed.
Whether they are the same or different the one thing I have learned from all of this,,,,and that is to keep an open mind and doubt nothing........................

Yes ! Kelly and I went to look at some land with a realtor today . We are now going to be relocating about 10 miles north of our current location farther out in the country - boonies we call em here ~smiles~. We are buying another home on 5 acres of land that we can once again call our own !
We are so happy ! Were giving up the place we have now because this land already has a home sitting on it so we dont have to go through all the terrible expense of moving this one and its actually cheaper buying this home and land than renting a lot and paying for this current one like we have been and we'll own it over time.
~ So Happy ~ !!
Cool ! Now I can build an observatory - within the next few years ;D and have horses and cattle and a garden ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ;D

Good for you, dude. I'm looking for some land also so I can build a new house too. I've been looking for a while but I haven't found anything that I really like yet. I want it to be perfect because I'm not planning on moving again. I know it's out there somewhere...probably just beyond the edge of reality. I'll keep looking.

Good luck Skywalker ! I know a really good Real Estate agent ;D There's beautiful rolling hills here ;D Do you remember that comedy "Green Acres" ? The guy that wrote the song lived about 2-3 miles from the place were buying land at. I use to work on that farm every now and then back in the day. I had my fair share of being a cowboy , lol.
That is wonderful Cliff. Everything takes time. Maybe you can share a few pics of it on Facebook when you get it the way you want it. Green Acres? wow, I never knew where that tv series was located. I use to think it was all on stage with props..
It sounds like everything is working out Cliff. And a future observatory too. Hope there is little light pollution there at the new location and good sky arcs in azimuth. I can imagine it now. Walking through the cows with their cow bells klinking, to spend a night by the telescope. Music playing in the observatory while a long exposure is taken, the star tracking spot on. Perhaps a small separate digital video tracking system like Sonata to spot 'visitors' approaching and watching only from a discrete distance. Never have forgotten my first time I saw Saturn through a telescope.
Before anything else - have someone check the ground water at the new location. If far enough above the ground water table, perhaps build your telescope in a underground enclosure space under the surface, so you only have to roll back a flat sliding roof - that way it is protected from tornadoes? A similar one for the family too just in case?

One equal temper of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will. To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.”

Those are awesome ideas Steve ! I had never thought of an underground observatory. Concrete is something I specialized in and is right up my alley . Having an underground shelter living this far out in tornado alley is something Kelly and I have been discussing and this would be the solution.
I may even build the observatory above the shelter with a separate entry to the shelter so we can get back out afterward in case there is debris . Not only would it provide an area for canned food storage, I may even use it as a dark room for photo developing among other things. Thank You !
The tent idea while camping out is a good one too. We do alot of camping and this would help provide a mosquito net while observing for other nights when were away from home. We have a tent similar in design to the one you posted. I like the sonata camera system idea too or even possibly something similar homemade with perhaps some ingenuity.
As far as the water goes,,,I hear ya,,,lol. I have a friend who just bought land down the road and we actually all share the same community well which we all pay for. Im only committed on escrow at the moment and will be checking in on the water situation tomorrow. Though we'd already discussed this, Im calling him again right away before signing the contract.
I once knew someone I remember who had an idea of a 'dug in' backyard observatory because of local building ordinances. A dome was considered in that area architecturally intrusive somehow. He lived in the Sierra Nevada's on a hill with a bluff fairly unobstructed by pine trees so the skies were clear often at those altitudes and could cope with the wide changes in temperatures. Hot summers and plenty snow in winters.
He had a large space for his telescope, and two side areas for computers and other things. He simply rolled a large movable flat or low sloping roof on tracks to one side. From ground level gazing at the yard you could hardly notice anything was there.
I imagine the biggest concern to me would be water drainage. Forbid it should ever flood! So drainage would be 'mission critical' depending on the topography. Perhaps to save money combine a dug in observatory and a tornado shelter for the family separately but together in the ground ? The roll tracks for a strong aluminum roof could be elevated maybe a foot above ground level as I envision it.
Also the concrete floor and brick walls I imagine would need to be sealed with plastic paint like they use in housing construction for cellars. Also some foam insulation underneath the aluminum horizontal sliding roof to reduce heat buildup inside around the telescope in the summer hot months (and cold winters too) as we know that can effect the optics.
Perhaps if the property lends itself to it, dig the tornado shelter and astronomical observatory into the slope of a low hill so the apex of the natural hill slope matches the height of the observatory walls. This might assure against any water drainage issues and still provide the natural ground protection. It also allows grass and flowers around the observatory too if that appeals to you too.
Maybe not build into the earth, but only so much for a lower profile, and build re-enforced brick walls onto a a concrete base of whatever size, and then have earth graders build up broad slopes surrounding it? Have a tornado shelter and observatory as two separate areas within the same structure? That way your family will not resent in a tornado the telescope will be more protected than the family is. ;D
Imagine a much simpler concept with broader sloping sides like the Australian architecural design in the link. With your construction back ground, I am sure you might know what is affordable and practical. I like the hinged swinging glass door in the home shown.
The horizontal sliding observatory roof would be on the broad flat apex of the structure, with green grass perhaps on the broad slopes. Access to both the shelter and the observatory would be a long walkway as if like a slit in the hill side. Build the infrastructure and drainage around the structure square or round in floor pattern - and once in place, cover the sides of the walls with dirt forming a slope say 7 or 8 to 1 slope.
Imagine this above in concept but with a larger observatory work area - made of brick with a tornado shelter added on the other end - surrounded by a 8 to 1 sloping ground cover with grass all around?. The entire structure would be built entirely on existing ground level.
Rough sketch of a plan and side view.
Perhaps locol ordinances allow financial assistance for tornado shelters? Would they allow one with an observatory too? Combining the shelter doorway with the sliding observatory roof might satisfy the debris blocking the door way design issue.
By building on the surface, and surrounding with a ground slope, it avoids water drainage issues, and is cheaper to install utilities, piling ground cover around a structure than to dig a structure into the ground.
I am full of crazy ideas. Have no clue about any local zoning issues, but you would know this and how to adapt from your back ground in construction. You can even design it with circular brick walls for the telescope observatory area.
Combining a tornado shelter would seem eminently practical - but it's primary purpose would be a astronomical observatory. It could be the first astronomical observatory in the world designed to protect the astronomer and his family too. ;D
Steve
Plant some grass and wild flowers on ground slopes.....

Thanks again Steve. The ground on that land ( 5 acres) has a perfect slope for the design you mentioned. That 6" Refractor telescope is nice (drool) . I use to have a Tinsley 8" schmidtz- Cassegrain telescope with a motor driven equatorial mounted on an observatory type pedestal . I would estimate it was probably over 200 pds.,,,maybe 300. I sold it to a friend in Vegas who in turn sold it to a college professor of astronomy. Though I miss it, I know its in good hands. The counter weight alone was 50 pds.
Though I like the dome type on the roof of the observatory better, Ill probably end up building the slide out roof design in years to come. The benefits of it vs. the dome is cost for one, and with a dome type you can only see so much of the sky whereas the slide out roof I'll have it all opened up to see everything. Ive liked that design ever since I 1st saw it in "Sky and Telescope" magazine I use to get throughout my childhood.
Things may have changed for us. Luckily we haven't finalized the contract. When we 1st went to look at the house and land we couldnt get inside the house because the key wasn't available. Another person had it who backed out of the deal prior to us looking at it so all we could see was the outside of the home and from opening up a window and looking in,,, a small section of the living room and kitchen. The outside of the home was structurally sound with good windows and whatnot. The inside, from what we could see, wasn't too bad at all.
Kelly and I figured we had better go see the inside before finalizing and ,,,,,, its not liveable. The best I could do for that home is scrap it out to build an outbuilding.
Good thing we have family and friends . We may go ahead and buy the land and place a nice home that a friend has for sale on the 5 acres or,,, my brother is selling his 11 acres of land and today im going to try and negotiate. We may end up buying that land instead and also buy my friends home and place it there.
There are other options were thinking about too. With the market the way it currently is,,,there's alot of homes and land available for a decent price.
Oh yeah,,,though it isn't official,,, I said to kelly early this morning that since were best friends and have been together as long as we have and get along as good as we do,,,and since were investing in a home and land together,,,,,(pause ;D),,,and since she's been wearing an engagement ring for years now,,,we may as well get married ! ;D
I haven't "officially" asked her the proper way yet though.
C'mon...make it official before you get cold feet.
;D Brrr ,,where's my slippers ? ;D j/k
@ Steve - Uh, yeah,,, I think "Han" may have given you some "psychic abilities" perhaps ? You're not going to believe this but Kelly just heard on the local news that a tornado hit somewhere in the vacinity of the town we are going to move to. Kelly had been talking about a shelter too before Id mentioned anything about it the same day.
I haven't heard details yet as to where or what but,,, Hopefully it just leveled the place were going to buy and nowhere else. Maybe it stacked all the metal and wood in a neat stack and saved me the trouble,,lol.

Many wows! Thank you for sharing about your marriage proposal (unofficially) here first. Mufon, OMF, UFOMania, eat your hearts out. Goes to show you this place is special. Congratulations.
Something kept telling me in imagining an observatory in your back yard to include a tornado shelter - I think it was either being that it is Missouri, or a low blood sugar. Maybe the Swiss half in me. When those thoughts came to me...they will just come in, but their purpose is usually unclear until something like you mentioned occurs, to make one think...okay...perhaps that was the reason.
The dome to me is a bit much to me too. I only included it because the observatory drawing then kinda looked like something 'Klaatu' might be seen sometime walking out of.
Domes are elaborate and beautiful but I knew they are very expensive too. They may also attract riff raff - a flat roof structure blends into the landscape and is very generic - but a dome to vandals means only one thing - something expensive inside. Also, a flat sliding back roof would seem less prone to lift off and fly away in a tornado, but the main reason to reject the dome option is the unnecessary cost. You enjoy the stars gazing up too.
You guys don't need a prenuptial - but if you did - make it she requires a tornado shelter , and you an observatory protected from the weather at the same time. Seems the perfect solution too.
The property seems to have been 'pre-disaster ed'...and possibly the land has been cleared away now for you too. So if all looks right, go for it.
