Thanks, plutronus. Lois has been trying to post that link for a long time but it never has worked for her. I never could figure out what was wrong with it. I have been to Funk's Grove many times. There are a lot of maple trees there that they used to tap to get maple syrup out of. Maybe that is what attracted the bigfeets. I have heard reports of them eating candy bars so they must like sweet stuff.

Just don’t hold your breath, because it’s a pretty big "might." Texas scientist Melba Ketchum−presumably driven on by her solemn oath to "catch ‘em all"−claims to have salvaged genetic evidence of Sasquatch. As all great discovers usually do, this somehow involves blueberry bagels. Allegedly the samples were gathered by a Cryptozoologist who used the bagels as bait on her private property. Although she has yet to publish her evidence for cross-examination, Ketchum remains adamant that her evidence is legitimate. If true, this would probably make Ketchum to veterinarians what Indiana Jones is to archeology or Carl Sagan to everything. Well, kind of. Her company, DNA Diagnostics, currently has an F from the Better Business Bureau, and Ketchum has a history of saying all the wrong things. Those curious why else Ketchum might be worth second guessing, I would direct to Google search "Melba Ketchum + angel DNA." Though arguably taken out of context, having to explain yourself out of any accusations involving angel DNA suggests that you were probably already walking a thin line. Although I am always hesitant to trust anyone who would abuse pastries in the name of science, it’s really just an eventuality that being a lunatic will get you some results. But even if Ketchum’s evidence checks out, don’t expect that to be the end of anything. Bigfoot has had a long, eventful history of cat and mouse with science, with believers in such numbers and skepticism so wide that it is unlikely this report will sway the argument of Sasquatch’s existence in either direction. Footage captures large unexplained structure in the remote forests of Arizona By James Nye PUBLISHED: 15 January 2013 Video of an intriguing covered nest-like structure found abandoned in Arizona is being hailed as a possible home of the legendary Bigfoot. With a narrow entrance and hollowed inside, the lair is buried half under the ground in the wild woods of the Tonto National Forest on the Mogollon Rim. Discovered in June of 2010 and featuring on Animal Planet's current 'Finding Bigfoot' series, the footage of the large mysterious den unfortunately offers up little evidence that the fabled giant ape ever dwelt inside. This unexplained structure in the forests around Arizona is believed by Bigfoot experts in the state to have housed the legendary ape-like creature Bigfoot investigator Mitch Waite entered the nest head first to investigate what lived inside and what might still be inside Filmed by Arizona researcher and Bigfoot expert Mitch Waite and his wife, Susan Farnsworth, the nest is reputed to be of the big-foot type creature called the Mogollon Monster, who crypto-zoologists believe inhabits the south west of the United States. Sightings of the creature have been reported for decades by cowboys, drifters and forestry workers and some claim that the creature has attacked and mauled people. gralienreport.com/cryptozoology/abduction-and-anomalous-non-alien-kidnappings/ Abduction and Anomalous Non-Alien Kidnappings by Micah Hanks on January 16, 2013 Posted In: Cryptozoology Yeti image by Philippe Semeria Abduction by Sasquatches?Probing the mythologies of the indigenous tribes of the Pacific Northwest, there are a number of Native American tribes that share legends involving Sasquatches kidnapping young Indian women for the likely purpose of mating; of course, the presumption here is that if breeding were somehow successful, the result would be some kind of near-human hybrid species. There is a stark parallel that emerges here between the mythos of folkloric Sasquatch kidnappings, and modern claims of alien abduction, where interstellar beings are alleged to kidnap humans for similar purposes of technological interbreeding, with hopes of producing human hybrids. And thus, an archetypal mythology seems to hide beneath the greater lineage of seemingly unrelated paranormal phenomenon, in that a recurring theme of sexual imprisonment for purposes of hybridization with humans remains a constant. But beyond the realm of Native American myths, there are a few modern instances where claims of human abduction by Bigfoot creatures seem to have become a reality. Arguably, the most famous incident of along these lines transpired in the 1920s on Vancouver Island, off the coast of British Columbia, near a location called Toba Inlet. Albert Ostman, a vacationing prospector searching for a lost silver mine purported to exist in the region, would return from his visit to the island’s remote wilds claiming that he had been scooped up with a few belongings into his sleeping bag one evening, and carried away by a large, male Sasquatch. There had been several nights of disturbance at Ostman’s encampment on the island, and though having been warned by an old Chehalis native about the wild men that believed to haunt the mountainous regions on the island, he nonetheless remained skeptical when belongings appeared to have been moved around his campsite, with cans pried open by some unseen intruder. Suspecting a hedgehog, Ostman gathered a number of his more susceptible belongings, along with his gun, and slept out by the fire one evening. When he awoke, he found himself deep within his sleeping bag, jostling to the steady pace of large, heavy footsteps. This terrifying episode would last for a number of hours, before Ostman was finally dumped in the middle of a large clearing at the base of a valley enclosed by steep sides. Around him, he could hear chattering voices, and as his eyes adjusted to his surroundings in the early morning half light, he could see that his captors weren’t quite human; they were much larger, and covered in short hair that grew all over their bodies. Theyave been waking up to some strange sounds coming out of a nearby forest, roars and screeches that sound nothing like the wildlife theyare familiar with. The reservation is home to about 1,500 people across 178,000 acres in Oregonas Blue Mountains. The possible Bigfoot noises were heard near an old reservation community center just north of Wilhorse Resort and Casino. Residents first started hearing the noises last month, and rumors quickly spread that it could be a young Bigfoot separated from its mother. The noises of the possible Bigfoot in Oregon are so frightening that even grown menas hair stands on end when the noises were heard, resident amy Minthron told The Oregonian. Another man said his dog was too terrified of the noises to go out for a walk. Not everyone thinks there really is a Bigfoot in Oregon, The Daily Mail notes. Others in the community think the simpler explanation is that the strange noises come from a fox or coyote. Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, is known as a mysterious ape-like creature believed to inhabit forests. Sightings have been centered on the Pacific Northwest region, Oregon in particular. So is there a Bigfoot in Oregon? Enthusiasts of the creature think that they are getting closer to finding the elusive Bigfoot, and sightings continue. Late last year, a group of hikers in Utah encountered what they thought was a bear, but then the animal turned and stood on two legs, looking very much like Bigfoot. www.livescience.com/26663-bigfoot-strange-sounds.html Bigfoot Blamed for Strange Shrieks Benjamin Radford, LiveScience Bad Science Columnist Date: 28 January 2013 Do new recordings from Oregon's Blue Mountains offer good evidence of the mysterious bipedal creature known as Bigfoot? That's what some are claiming after hearing a recording of strange roars and shrieks given to The Oregonian newspaper. When people think of Bigfoot evidence, casts of big footprints and blurry photos and films often come to mind. But someof the more interesting bits of evidence are sound recordings of alleged vocalizations. One company, Sierra Sounds, markets a CD called "The Bigfoot Recordings: The Edge of Discovery." Narrated by "Star Trek" actor Jonathan Frakes, the recording claims to have captured vocalizations among a Bigfoot family. The sounds include a series of guttural grunts, howls and growls. The liner notes offer testimonials from a "linguist" whose self-described credentials include playing the flute, speaking several languages, and having "a Russian friend [who] thinks I'm Russian." She confidently asserts that the tapes are not faked, and that the vocal range is too broad to be made by a human. She also suggests that Bigfoot individuals have a language, possibly including "Sasquatch swear words." She also suggests that Bigfoot individuals have a language, possibly including "Sasquatch swear words." In his 1992 book "Big Footprints: A Scientific Inquiry Into the Reality of Sasquatch" (Johnson Books, 1992), physical anthropologist Grover Krantz discussed his experience with Bigfoot recordings: "One ... tape was analyzed by some university sound specialists who determined that a human voice could not have made them; they required a much longer vocal tract. A Sasquatch investigator later asked one of these experts if a human could imitate the sound characteristics by simply cupping his hands around his mouth. The answer was yes." As for other such recordings, Krantz "listened to at least ten such tapes and find no compelling reason to believe that any of them are what the recorders claimed them to be."
It's little wonder that one of the top scientific Bigfoot investigators held audio recordings in low regard: Sounds are simply poor evidence. [Infographic: Tracking Belief in Bigfoot]
Other explanations for the Blue Mountain sounds include foxes and coyotes, which — unlike Bigfoot — are known to exist in the area. Just because an animal call seems unusual or mysterious doesn't mean that it is. There are many factors than can affect how something sounds from far away, including temperature, wind and geographical features such as canyons.
Some suggest perhaps a hoaxer in the area is having a bit of fun with the local legend. And sometimes Bigfoot hunters go deep into the woods and "sound blast" pre-recorded "Bigfoot calls," hoping to elicit responses from any real Bigfoot nearby. Of course other people in the area can also hear the strange shrieks and howls coming from the dark wilderness and — not knowing that Bigfoot noisemakers are afoot — may report the sounds as genuine and unknown.

Fascinating report from Missouri. Wonder where the video is? The Canadian
UFO accompanies Bigfoot alien Missouri walkWhat has a Missouri witness seen, and now reported in 2013 to the Mutual UFO Network? I am a member of a paranormal investigation group and on December 2, 2012 a son of one of our members went hunting in a rural area outside Rich Hill, Missouri at the Four Rivers Wildlife Conservation area. While he was sitting with his bow in hand, he saw a large bigfoot creature walk into view about 75 from his position. It was approximately eight feet tall, and had broad shoulders and a large head. There was fog in the area about three feet off the ground and he could see the head and shoulders over the fog and the feet and legs under the fog. The creature looked in the hunter’s direction but did not see him. The hunter had his bow drawn just in case it approached, but it didn’t appear to see him. It turned and walked away using very large strides, covering a large area very quickly, then went out of sight. After hearing this, the group decided to investigate and went back to the exact same location on December 5. We arrived at the area 1 1/2 miles into the woods just after dark. We sat for a while and heard large footsteps walking through the woods but could not see anything. We found an area with 10-12 remains of fawns in one place, which is odd. After we had been there for some time, lights appeared in the distance that were not there before. There were a lot - perhaps 80 or more bright white lights, which then started to move about the sky to the Northeast and North of us, darting about very quickly, leaving trails behind them at times. Some lights were much larger than the others, and would move towards us and away from us at a high rate of speed. Some lights were the size of an aspirin held at arm’s length, others the size of a softball. One of the larger lights would appear in one place, and then reappear in another in an instant. None of the lights had red or green flashing lights; they were all stationary white lights. The sight was unbelievable. There were four of us at the site that witnessed this. I have film footage that was taken for 40 minutes. It was so cold that we were not prepared, and had to quit and leave. Five or ten minutes after I quit filming with my IGM2020 Infrared long-range monocular camera the lights all disappeared. It was as if they wanted us to see them and film, but as soon as I quit filming... www.agoracosmopolitan.com/news/ufo_extraterrestrials/2013/01/29/5373.html

There are a lot of deep back woods country in this area. I have never heard of anyone in this State until now that has sighted a bigfoot. I don't doubt it however. I've talked with many of the ole timers around here who have witnessed interesting stuff.
I have seen a panther on two occasions from a very close range,,,too close ! Many people that I know saw them in the same areas that I did, some of them being 'the good ole boys' from around here that like me wouldn't lie about it. There was a time when panther was considered as non existent and many didn't believe of their existence in this area until just very recently when it was proven to the Conservation Dept. who now verifies it.
I have never seen a bear here but others have. They are now proven to exist also. A large brown bear was struck by a car on a hwy. just a few years back. There are also witnesses who say honey bears are nearby. I have no reason to doubt it.
The same goes for bigfoot. After seeing witnesses come forward in other states and seeing the mapped out areas of the sightings it seems genuine to me that these people are being truthful. Many have been teased and ridiculed with nothing more then that to gain or lose by coming forward just to find out later that what they were saying all along was true.

BEFORE IT'S NEWS DeNovo Scientific Journal To Release Ketchum DNA StudyWednesday, February 13, 2013 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 3 BIGFOOT GENOMES SEQUENCED IN 5-YEAR DNA STUDY Positive New Research Paper Published Friday Shows Homo Sapiens/Unknown Hominin Hybrid Species Extant in North America DALLAS, February 10th --A team of scientists will publish their five-year long study of DNA samples from a novel hominin species, commonly known as “Bigfoot” or “Sasquatch,” on Friday February 15th, 2013. The results suggest that the legendary Sasquatch is extant in North America and is a human relative that arose approximately 13,000 years ago as a hybrid cross of modern Homo sapiens with an novel primate species. The study, “Novel North American Hominins, Next Generation Sequencing of Three Whole Genomes and Associated Studies,” was conducted by a team of experts in genetics, forensics, imaging and pathology. The team, led by Dr. Melba Ketchum of DNA Diagnostics in Nacogdoches, TX, included Dr. Pat Wojtkiecicz, Director of the North Louisiana Criminalistics Laboratory; Ms. Aliece Watts of Integrated Forensic Laboratories in Euless, TX; Mr. David Spence, Trace Evidence Supervisor at Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences; Dr. Andreas K. Holzenburg, Director of the Microscopy & Imaging Center at Texas A&M University; Dr. Douglas G. Toler of Huguley Pathology Consultants in Fort Worth, TX; Dr. Thomas M. Prychitko of Wayne State University in Michigan; Dr. Fan Zhang of the University of North Texas Health Science Center; and Sarah Bollinger, Ray Shoulders, and Ryan Smith of DNA Diagnostics. In total, 110 specimens of purported Sasquatch hair, blood, skin, and other tissue types were analyzed for the study. Samples were submitted by individuals and groups at 34 different hominin research sites in 14 U.S. states and two Canadian provinces. Ketchum’s team sequenced 20 whole and 10 partial mitochondrial genomes, as well as 3 whole nuclear genomes, from the samples. Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) comes from mitochondria, energy-producing organelles in the cellular cytoplasm, and is passed down on the maternal lineage across generations. Nuclear DNA (nuDNA) is the genetic information contained in the cell nucleus and is the equal combination of DNA from the parents of an individual. Initially a skeptic, Ketchum implemented strict protocols to ensure the scientific integrity of the study. DNA samples from submitters and scientists working with study specimens were obtained for use as controls. DNA was extracted from samples using forensic procedures to prevent contamination. Forensics experts examined the morphology of the submitted hair samples against known human and animal samples before beginning DNA testing. “We soon discovered that certain hair samples--which we would later identify as purported Sasquatch samples--had unique morphology distinguishing them from typical human and animal samples,” says Ketchum. “Those hair samples that could not be identified as known animal or human were subsequently screened using DNA testing, beginning with sequencing of mitochondrial DNA followed by sequencing nuclear DNA to determine where these individuals fit in the ‘tree of life.'” After extensive forensic controls to prevent contamination, mtDNA testing of the Sasquatch samples yielded fully modern human profiles. Sixteen haplotypes indicating 100% homology with modern human mtDNA sequences were observed from 20 completed whole and 10 partial mitochondrial genomes. The human mtDNA results are consistent with prior, unrelated mtDNA tests of purported Sasquatch samples from other laboratories. Next-generation whole genome sequencing with the HiSeq 2000 platform by Illumina was performed at the University of Texas, Southwestern on one tissue sample, a saliva sample and one blood sample to produce 3 whole genomes. In contrast to the mtDNA which was unambiguously modern human, the Sasquatch nuDNA results were a mosaic of novel primate and human sequence. cryptoreports.com/east-texas-bigfoot-photographed24Feb, 2013 East Texas Bigfoot Photographed An East Texas man named David Arceneaux was able to snap a photo of what many believe to be a pair of Bigfoot in an area called Port Neches. Arceneaux was out at Oak Bluff Cemetery to clean off graves of a friend and relative when he says he got the fright of his life. He said there was a blood curdling scream and a nearby lady came over and asked if he was ok but he told her it wasn’t him screaming. Then he and the unknown female noticed two Bigfoot like creatures across the bayou from them. One of the creatures was standing next to a tree with its arms wrapped around it and the other squatted down. Arceneaux said the second creature rose from its crouching position and was approximately eight foot tall. He then was able to get a picture of them both using his cell phone before they began to walk and then run into the woods. Arceneaux said he could see the faces of the creatures very clearly and there was hair like a man from mouth down. Then when creature turned he could see the hair going downs its arm. Arceneaux said he spoke to an local game warden who confirmed there had been other sightings of Bigfoot along the Neches River. Here is the actual Texas Bigfoot photo taken by David Arceneaux. Quest for SasquatchBy: Matt Galka Torreya State Park: that's where the Brown's said they spotted Bigfoot last time and that's where they got their footage, so if we're lucky, we might just see him again. Wakulla's Stacy Brown Sr. and Jr. had submitted footage claiming to have seen Bigfoot through a thermal camera at Torreya State Park in Liberty County. There were more than a few doubters, myself included, so I had to see what this operation was all about, and there was little doubt at the Sasquatch Hunter's camp. "So you really think it's out there?" I ask. "Oh absolutely, without a doubt, without a doubt, and I believe we're going to find him," Stacy Brown, Jr., Sasquatch Hunter, said. "This is the group that will find him." There was even talk of a sighting the night before. "Behind a tree something poked it's head out and was staring at us, and it had red eyes and you could see it blink, and it opened it's eyes again and just went off to the right; it was pretty crazy," Brown, Jr. said. Lead Squatch Hunter Stacy Brown, Jr. mapped out a plan for his team to surround a secluded section of woods in the park. "We're going into an area where there ain't nobody, so I don't know what to expect, but we're going to flush whatever's in those woods out," Brown, Jr. said. And as day turned to night, the Quest for Sasquatch was on. "We've got night visions lining the road, filming anything that decides to cross the road," Brown Jr., said. "There's three exits, so it's either going to come at us, at them, or go to the road because it can't go toward the river." "This is what we call stick structures that we believe Sasquatch makes," Brown Jr. said. "That's the kind of stuff that make you believe, I mean what's the chances of all that falling together woven like that? But if you don't believe you ain't going to believe, so." The 'Squatch hunters didn't find anything that night, but say they're still committing time and money to the hunt about three times a month. ________________________________________ Crawfordville, FL - Stacy Brown, Sr. and Junior of Crawfordville are part of The Sasquatch Hunters. They say their equipment may have captured footage of the elusive Bigfoot back in May in Liberty County. "The hair stood on the back of my neck when I figured out it was watching us. Whatever it was was looking out behind that tree at us," said Stacy Brown, Sr. The video was shot with a thermal camera in Torreya State Park. Brown, Jr. was skeptical until his own close encounter when he was on a hunt with a friend. "We were asleep and we felt something push in the top of our tent. My buddy woke up screaming...I woke up and we heard it run off. That's when I went all in," said Brown, Jr. Brown, Sr. said he had his doubts until shooting this footage. The family has spent thousands of dollars to buy equipment and try to go on hunts 10 days a month. Brown, Jr. has been all around the country on different hunts. He even has a message for the doubters. "Get out there and come with us, it'll change your mind I assure you," said Brown, Jr. The Browns say they just released the footage because they got it verified by the show Finding Bigfoot. For more information, go to www.thesasquatchhunters.com. The two say they are always looking for tips, and welcome anyone to join them on a hunt. I wouldn't mind going to that Bigfoot conference in Texas. I don't know if I will be there on the 16th though. I'll probably be working as usual.

www.tricities.com/news/local/article_8162c28c-80fe-11e2-ab49-0019bb30f31a.htmlA Bigfoot sighted near Bristol began a reign of terrorPosted: Sunday, March 3, 2013 BY BUD PHILLIPS | SPECIAL TO THE BRISTOL HERALD COURIER It seems that all across America, there are areas that have tales of what might be called “Bigfoot stories.” Virtually all of them tell of a super-sized giant resembling a human being. The detailed descriptions vary as to size and shape, but there are some things in common. Generally it is told that the footprints are in the 18-20 inch range. Also, the gigantic body is usually covered in black or brown hair. This hair is usually said to be muddy or matted and in most cases, there is a long, overwhelming eye-burning scent that lingers long after the beast has passed. Some say they have encountered the scent without encountering the sight and have fled. Most of these bigfoot reports come from the Pacific Northwest, but there are other scattered stories coming from other parts of the nation. In Virginia, I am aware of reports that include Culpepper, Dinwiddie, Orange, Highland, Amherst, Bath, Prince William, Giles and Wythe counties. In the area of Tennessee near Bristol, there are claims made of such in Johnson, Greene, Hancock and Hawkins counties. Some people dismiss these stories as figments of imagination. Some classify them with ghosts. But as with the case of ghosts, there are many whose testimonies are hard to dismiss. The investigations go on and are sometimes headed by reputable and respectable college professors or other such gentlemen. I am neither defensive nor offensive, but as usual I keep an open mind. I could not call myself “educatable” unless I did so. Purportedly, an event of this nature occurred in Washington County, Va. I had not been long in Bristol before I heard tales concerning this creature. Some old-timers called the creature a “monster man” but to stay with the usual trend, we’ll call him a “bigfoot.” There is one major difference with this creature. He was about the standard size, 7-9 feet tall, had big footprints of 20 inches or more and had that distinctive odor. Instead of being black or brown, this bigfoot was said to have been either light gray or white. That was the reason some people called him a ghost. Most informants, and there were many, agreed that he suddenly appeared soon after the close of the Civil War (1868-1869). The area where he was most often seen was near a knob said to have been near the Old Jonesboro Road not far from Abingdon. Several years ago, a man brought me a picture of this mountain where this monster appeared. That man died before I could have him point out to me specifically to where in that picture he was referring. That remains a mystery to me to this day. Perhaps some of the readers seeing the picture included in this article can be of help. It seems that the reign of terror began when residents began to find partially eaten livestock on their farms. Goats seem to have been a favorite prey. Then after these incidents, sightings began to occur. A man plowing his field at the base of the aforementioned mountain saw one of his goats fleeing as if running for his life. Indeed he was. A second look revealed that a human like creature with arms almost as long as his body was reaching for the frightened goat. Once caught, the goat was tucked under his arm and carried off into the woods at the edge of the field.
