I miss understood my brother this morning. I was not awake. He is here now and giving me the story first hand. Not Maurice, but him himself was in Colorado, Denver and they went up in the mountains to a brewery which made special beer Etc. . A woman up on the mountain had a litter of white wolves. She gave one to him and told him to keep a close watch on this pup, never let it stray.. and be careful. She knew it was unlawful.. He brought it back to Illinois. A year and a half later .. a person here in Bloomington who had some gray black wolves out side of town.. . They put these two together and mated them. Coonak was the results. Now the gray black wolf from here had Malemute in it. So what ever that makes Coonak is any ones guess. Too bad she was not a pure white wolf like her Mother. But she was beautiful anyway..

Put the above link on large screen.. They sold the white wolf to this wolf owner here. I bet he did not have one so beautiful as the white wolf before.

I saw a white wolf run across the road in front of me as I was driving through Ohio a few years ago. It was winter time with snow on the ground and a full moon shining down and out of the darkness came this huge white wolf. It was an amazing looking animal. I've also seen gray wolves down on Padre Island off the Texas coast. They used to live all over Texas but now they are pretty much extinct because people killed them all off. Padre Island is the only place they still live down here.

The only reason I know about Malamutes is simple. It was my high school mascot...

I dunno about the jumping thing Lois. I just know sled dogs like to run... that's pretty much all I know about them. Very high energy levels and they like to run.

I think I have mentioned that I have a "husky". I got him at just under 3 yrs. old and was told that he is an "Alaskan Husky", as opposed to being called a Malamute. One of these days I'll have bloodwork done to find out what else he is . My sister used to have a "Siberian Husky", so with that and some studying I know the difference. Siberian are the shorter breed that is so common as lots of black fur and the white face markings (of course they can come in different colors). Malamutes are a whole head bigger and longer legs. Both are good sled dogs. I was warned by another "husky" owner that if my dog ever got out he may walk and walk for many miles; they have this "drive" to just go . My dog also sits often like the pic of Coonak. Even to put his behind in a chair (or on top of one of my kids) with his front legs ready to take off. The biggest thing I wasn't used to was his eating habits. He will leave food in his bowl! He's not picky, just only eats when he needs to and stops when he's full? He loves to run and enjoyed pulling my son down the street on ice. I wish I could invent some sort of small snow plow to attach to him to do the driveway ;D. Anyway, he's huge and people always comment on his looks. He has no problem raising up and putting his paws on my shoulders, and climbs the chain link fence in two steps. There is a wolf shelter here in Mo. and we went to the one in Colorado (Dillon?) summer of 2010. Shelters are few and far between. . . .we have had 2 different friends with what they call "wolf hybrids". Look that term up and you'll see even bigger!

My husband says he does not understand that I do not remember going there all the time and seeing this wolf. Anyway he give this wolf's son to my other brother . The one seen above.

Jcurio asked me to post this photo of her little doggie. She said it is an Alaskan Husky. Maybe it is related to one of Lorelei's neighbors.

Oh yeah. "Little doggie". This is his "majestic face". And pay no attention to the chain. It is attached to a "run" so that he can be out all day while I'm at work. . . .poor guy.
That is a neighbors privacy fence behind him. The rest of our yard is standard chain link which he bounds over in 2 seconds if I haven't taken him for a walk lately. In fact, my dad has seen other dogs in our yard coming for a visit ;D (he is fixed). He has a very deep, threatening sound to his bark, but very friendly and playful with other dogs. I can't wait to take him to the dog park!

Padre Island is the only place they still live down here. I never knew that! I thought I was only dealing with coyotes. I've seen large wild doggish beings as a child and assumed they were coyotes. Once I was on a geology field trip (digging trenches to reveal the sediment layers on the back island) and had to attend to well, bodily functions. I walked a long way off (because there really wasn't any cover) and then had the distinct impression that I was being watched - which P me O because how rude is that? So I looked over my shoulder - into the eyes of a coyote who thought was I was doing was very interesting (and no doubt to be examined soon). I thought it was a coyote. It was laughing at me.

There are still some red wolves scattered across Texas but the gray ones only live on the island now. Zillions of coyotes too. I've also had a few personal encounters with mountain lions but they pretty much try to avoid people. Biologists claim that there are some jaguars in the Big Thicket area of east Texas but I've never seen any of them. They must hang out with the skunk apes and bigfoots.

I found these furry little critters wandering around on Facebook so I thought I would invite them over. This one is Shami's daughter Anna's cat... ...and this is Shami's daughter Tonia's cat.

Oh my sky, nice of you to put them here. I have no CATS. The top one is called Daisy and the other is Sweetie Girl.. My daughter told me she sat and watch the tree all through Christmas but she never leaped into it.. she was sure she was going to. Maybe the lights made her not sure what she would be getting into . We had a poodle for years. About 3:00 am around Christmas I heard a big crash, I got out of bed and ran into the living room... the tree was on the floor and he was buried under it about half way up. I never could figure out how he got so tangled in the lights. They were wrapped around him in different ways you would not believe. I remember the last part to get untangled was two around one paw. They very tight any movement of his body or the tree he would screech out. as it was pinching his foot off. All the while the whole family is yelling at me. Ha..
I did the yelling when he got free. . I told Tonia You let the dog smell his present you got him and then put it at the top of the tree. He stared up at it all day. It was a chew bone. I knew it was going to happen but she keep insisting if I put it under the tree he will tear it open.. No more doggie presents ever near a tree again. Oh yes and the stupid glass bulbs were in the the dog Conjac's hair galore not to mention the carpet. He looked like pure colored glitter for days. You could not wash it out of the tight curls without cutting your own fingers
I never thought about putting a picture of him here .. I will see if I can find one. He passed away in 1986..

I can tell by the look on his face he is thinking, "Who, me? I didn't knock any tree over...the aliens did it! I tried to stop them but they tied me up with the lights and got away."

They sure are honey bees to me, but with a stunted growth maybe.
What do you think? No sweat bee is this large. Not in my neck of the woods. Been waiting years to see them back here.

www.vanpraagh.com/the-pet-connection/ The Pet Connection Stop for a moment and think of an activity that makes the cares of the world magically melt away – replacing them with pure joy. For me, it’s spending time with my darling doggies – Boo Radley and Maisey. Those of us who have pets can relate to the feeling that we are the ones who actually have been saved. I will never forget the story of how Maisey came into my life. Years earlier, bob and I had adopted Boo Radley, a spunky chihuahua, and Boston terrier mix, and we thought our little family was complete. Then, one day I was driving in downtown San Diego. Pulling up to an intersection, I saw a little girl standing in the corner waiting for the light to change. She was holding a puppy in her arms. The thought flashed into my head “that little dog should be on a leash!” when seconds later the puppy leaped from her arms and raced into the street. The inevitable occurred: a car made its way into the intersection and drove over the poor puppy. “Oh no.” I got out of my car and ran to the puppy, knelt down and saw the poor baby writhing in pain. I remember feeling so powerless – wishing I could heal it, turn back time, something to not make this animal hurt anymore. There was nothing anyone could do, and within seconds the little dog had crossed over. The poor little girl was crying, “Just let me say goodbye!” I was so angry at the mother for allowing this to happen, because I knew this event would scar her daughter’s heart. I eventually left the scene, but my spirit was badly damaged as well. I couldn’t wait to get home and hold Boo in my arms. That scene plagued me for two weeks, and I couldn’t do anything to shake it off. I kept playing that scene over in my mind, so I asked the Spirit world to help me. That night, I had a dream. I was with an angel, and we were walking in a park near the shelter where I had rescued Boo. The angel told me to go to the shelter – that there would be a dog there that would heal me and that I would recognize her immediately. The next morning, I drove to the rescue shelter and looked in each one of the kennels, but I didn’t feel the connection that the angel had promised. I walked back to the lobby feeling distraught and more depressed than ever. Had the angel been wrong? As I sat in the lobby, I noticed a volunteer bringing a dog back from a walk. I spotted shiny black button eyes and a sweet little white muzzle. My heart skipped a beat as I went over to look. I felt the dog was calling to me. The moment I got near her, she wagged her tail and rolled on her back to show me her freckled belly. That was the same position that I had seen the wounded puppy in! This was my dog! We immediately bonded, and she could not stop licking me!! Today, she is the loving sister of Boo Radley and a wonderful addition to our family. She has brought my life back to me and continues to heal me every day. I’ll never forget that poor dog in San Diego, but Maisey has filled the void in my soul that was opened that day. She is a constant reminder that everything happens for a reason and that for her, I am perfect and loved. Do you have a pet that means the world to you? Here are some ways to deepen the spiritual connection between the two of you: Tune into your pet energetically – don’t stare into their eyes, because animals can find intense eye contact threatening, but gently focus on them while stroking them or touching them and imagine a flow of love and light traveling between you. Imagine your pet as a beautiful soul inhabiting a physical body. Ask if they have a message for you, then invite them to connect with you psychically or to visit you in your dreams. Look at the world from your pets’ point of view. If they’re close to the ground, get down next to them so you can see the world from their level. When you’re walking or driving with your pet, be mindful of the sights, sounds and smells that are getting them so excited! Take the time to imagine what they are experiencing. Journal or write about your pet – ask yourself what has brought the two of you together. In my situation, Maisy came into my life to heal me from a trauma that I couldn’t shake. Let your pet know how much you appreciate them. Make them feel taken care of and understood. They can’t speak, but they’ll give you signs to let you know if they are happy, healthy and comfortable. In addition to healing me from a terrible experience, Maisey also made me realize that love is ever expanding. bob and I thought our family was complete until Maisey came along to teach us that we had even more love to share! www.vanpraagh.com/the-pet-connection/
