Someone has posted about 50 photos of "starship" clouds at www.sightingsreport.com/sightings/14 if you want to check them out. Interesting pictures but I have trouble seeing everything he is trying to point out in them. Photo 39 of 55 has an image with 4 lights at the top which is peculiar looking . Good pics Heyrolled ! It would be cool if the photographer would visit/join the forum, especially since his interests are in ufo's.

Those are some amazing cloud formations. I'm a cloud buff..I love the things especially when it's windy up there and they're all drifty looking. ;D We get some gorgeous thunderheads too locally.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2047384/UFO-cloud-mountain-captured-amateur-photographer-Russia.html?ITO=1490i believe this one IS just a cloud formation.... because its formed around a mountain... OMG it's a UFO (that's an Unusual Fluffy Object), captured by amateur photographer over Russian mountain range By Dan Thomas Last updated at 5:47 PM on 10th October 2011 At first glance it looks like aliens have landed in an enormous flying saucer, or that this mountain has somehow managed to take off and is breaking the sound barrier. But the explanation is more terrestrial and less technical. The extraordinary sight is nothing more than a rare cloud formation known as a 'lenticular cloud' - or simply a cap cloud. Cloud cap: The len ticular cloud formation creates a breathtaking image over the conical-shaped Klyuchevskaya Sopka mountain in east Russia ... i can't believe this is just a cloud......................................... .....WOW!The sky suddenly seemed to open up and this UFO shape appeared. I have been a photographer for more than 10 years and it's one of the few times I have been completely amazed. 'It was one of those moments I'll never forget.' Lenticular clouds and the turbulence that comes with them are a mixed blessing for aviators. Pilots of powered aircraft avoid them because of their unpredictability, but glider pilots are attracted to the clouds bacause of the accompanying 'wave lift'. WHAT IS THIS.....? WEIRD CLOUD SHOOTS Uploaded by abrigatti on Aug 15, 2011 I was pool side in my apartment in Singapore, when I saw something weird in the skies. As I looked over head I saw some weird cloud shoots of light and puff as the clouds seemed to reform sporadically. I could see that a storm cloud was building, but the light and visual show was intriguing me. So I grabbed my iPhone and recorded this

I don't think that first one is a cloud. It looks too metallic and artificial. The second one is a plane breaking the sound barrier and causing a sonic boom.

For skeptics - it's not a cloud! This structure is formed!
The cloud overhead? I wish they described more the very interesting station in the foreground instead! How was it constructed and transported to it's location. That is far more interesting to me. Amazes me how igannant still other supposed UFO sites are about lenticular clouds and the unexpected quirks of digital imagery. I wonder if the Internet and digital cameras have actually set UFOlogy exceedingly backwards instead. The immediacy of the Internet has eliminated the pause to stop and think first. And digital camera artifacts have destroyed any possibility of ever seeing anything remotely plausible anymore. You tube videos are more to tantalize than to inform. Digital cameras have been a win fall boon not for us, but for any alien presence here that may exist. The best days of Ufology may have long past. The 1950s through the 1970's. Organizations like Muffin still keep searching for physical trace cases. They should continue this, but with the expectation the chances of such finds are remote to impossible now. The phenomenon is proactive. It changes if you study it closely. But since these same UFO organizations fail to analyze their data, they never change with the phenomenon either. They are doomed to repeat and waste their well intended efforts and energies. They do not know what to ignore as much as what they should focus on. UFO reports never describe actual physical landings anymore, nor any fleeting effects of their propulsion systems. Except for self promotion, has any Star team effort ever found any evidence confirmed by laboratory analysis? UFOs if seen at all are blurred shadows at most. UFO's never fly away at abrupt speeds anymore either, they simply disappear before your eyes (at least visually). Digital images have exasperated the situation. Digital images are much less understood and have no credibility. Most UFO researchers worth their salt would never stake a reputation on a digital image. Stan Friedman has stated many times he dos not trust any alleged UFO image after the advent of the digital camera. The phenomenon has changed so much, but UFO organizations have not. Remote viewing, and regressive hypnosis seem to be the new tools. But unfortunately they are just about as credible as digital images in any court of science or law. UFO's being ET instrumentality's I think are quite real. But the impressions of the phenomenon are, as they have perhaps always been - the province of the mind perceiving and interpreting it. This is where the players in this mystery reside. It is about bending and manipulating human perceptions of reality, either physically or in the human mind. I have learned a bit now just how suggestive the human mind really is. I think we ignore this, how vulnerable and exposed the human mind really is. What is reality and what is not, and what is perceived by the human mind as not real may in fact be all too real. Even the label UFO mystery no longer applies. May I suggest UFO menagerie? I respect so much the work and opinions of Hynek and Vallee. Any typical UFO researcher's personal journey seems to follow over time and experience one inevitable path. A philosophical journey that begins with Hynek, and ultimately concludes perhaps with Vallee. Vallee is right. Steve

I agree with that..you can find a veritable ton of pictures of lenticular clouds on line..they're common in many areas and yet..oooooooh look at the UFO's (shakes me wee noggin). They are without a doubt the most interesting and beautiful formations..but not other-worldly at all.

i struggle with ufo photos.... i know what other people think & i know what i think... for me... the bottom line is.... i think there are ufos inside ALL of them.... even the clouds that look normal.... i am very aware that i sound like a ufo nutcase.... but, i'm not.... i'm just more intuitive than most... and i'm not soooo afraid of them.... (of course one has never landed directly at my feet either.... ;D) i've seen too many lights move out of a cloud and then move back in.... i think ufos make many of the clouds they hide in ... and when they shape it like a ufo.... they are showing themselves to us so we are not afraid.... in this picture i always wondered if that zebra was taken.... Maybe some of them do harbor UFO's but I'm possitive not the majority of them..I've friends who are pilots and so far (I keep asking them) they've never run into anything up there or in any clouds they pop into. Possibly too the ones who find something in the middle of one, never do make it back My daughter works at the local airport and the cloud subject comes up a lot. There is a variety shaped like a vortex with good reason..it's like that inside and they avoid those like a plague..some clouds are pretty dangerous even without finding one occupied..

I have often pondered the idea, could a ufo be inside this cloud? I did see one come out of a cloud once, it just sat there and wobbled like but stood still in the same location. What was strange about it was it had a similar color to it as the cloud color. The cloud was small and blackish gray.. I thought to my self as I and two neighbors watched it, Oh yea, camouflage? hummm!. But they of course was trying to figure out what it was.. Ufo was not an option in their mind. I knew it was, but had no camera then. It stayed there for a little over a minute..over the joining yard out back. we were in the driveway toward the front of the house. A camera on zoom would of brought it right up in your face in broad daylight. I will never get a chance like that again, now that I have a fairly good camera. But it came out of a small black cloud, maybe four times bigger than the craft.

But since mankind first gazed up and saw one of these clouds float past, their uniform and tight circular shapes have caused wonder, curiosity - and even fear - in the eyes of their beholder. The clouds look so artificial that, over the course of history, they may well have prompted early thoughts about visitors from space. Instead, these are lenticular clouds - smooth, tightly-bordered circular formations that form high in the atmosphere over the tops of mountains, before drifting off to prompt curiosity in those that behold them. By Daily Mail Reporter PUBLISHED: , 3 June 2012 It looks like an apocalyptic scene from a Hollywood blockbuster. Although it looks like an otherworldly spacecraft, these incredible pictures actually show a thunderstorm cloud known as a supercell. The impressive UFO-shaped cloud - literally the eye of the storm - ominously hovered near Adrian, Michigan, on May 21. Incredible: It may look like an alien mothership but this saucer-shaped cloud is actually a thundercloud called a supercell Ominous: Supercells are the most severe type of thunderstorm. This one, which hovered near the town of Adrian, in Michigan, on May 21 produced at least one tornado According to experts, supercells are the most severe type of thunderstorm – this particular one produced at least one twister. ‘What you are seeing here is a well-developed rotating supercell thunderstorm, and the condensation pattern at cloud base forms a 'belt' or 'wall' appearance as air is lifted and sucked into the swirling storm,' Chris Walcek, a meteorologist at the State University of New York, Albany, told Discovery News. Because they are relatively dry supercells also provide storm chasers and experts with great views of the power of mother nature - as footage captured of this storm testifies. mysteriousuniverse.org/2013/02/ufos-clouds-and-secret-experiments/ UFOs, Clouds and Secret Experiments February 22, 2013 Nick Redfern If there is one thing more than any other that I like about the Flying Saucer era of the late 1940s and the early to mid 1950s, it’s the sheer wacky nature of some of the stories that surfaced during that long gone time. Indeed, they are of a caliber (and sometimes of a lack of caliber!) that we just don’t see today. The following is a classic example, and which, just maybe, does indeed have a degree, or nugget, of truth to it. Who knows? It’s a very strange story that I suspect most people within Ufology will never even have heard of. But, it’s undeniably fascinating, and filled with tales of the FBI, clandestine sources and informants, Soviet secrets, mysterious “controlled clouds,” dead worms (yes, really) and much more. I have been delving into it for quite some time now, but have gone about just as far as I can – unless, that is, anyone reading this knows more… UFOCloud2 To briefly summarize the approximately twenty pages I now have on the affair, it goes like this: During the first week of July 1947, FBI agents based out of the Los Angeles, California office were busy investigating a story of very odd proportions. It all started when the Los Angeles Herald Examiner newspaper received a letter a couple of days earlier that told a highly unusual story. In fact, it sounds like the sort of thing that would have had pride of place in the pages of Ray Palmer’s Amazing Stories magazine! Except, this was no tale of science-fiction-style proportions. Nope: it was all true. Allegedly it was, anyway. The letter-writer stated they had been exposed to a sensational story that led them to believe “flying discs” originated with none other than the Soviet military. So the tale goes, the teller of the tale - who conveniently elected to omit including his or her name – claimed to have then recently met in the “Los Angeles harbor” an “officer aboard a Russian tanker.” After the initial meeting the two met for dinner, over which the Russian asked “where he could sell 18 polar beat pelts which he had received for very dangerous work.” CONTINUE READING: mysteriousuniverse.org/2013/02/ufos-clouds-and-secret-experiments/

news.stv.tv/north/238194-onlookers-shocked-as-ufo-shaped-clouds-darken-skies-over-aberdeen/Distinctive UFO-shaped clouds darken skies over Aberdeen, Scotland 2 September 2013 The skies over Aberdeen darkened on Monday as a squadron of unidentified fluffy objects swarmed on the city. But STV weather watcher Sean Batty says everyone can rest easy tonight - the UFOs were in fact a harmless type of cloud. Claire Stewart, from Kincorth, Aberdeen, saw the "flying saucers" fill the sky as she looked out over her back garden at 9.30am. She said: "It looked like a UFO and I had to double take before I realised it was actually a cloud. I've never seen anything like it before ... It's very weird." Many Aberdonians took to social networking sites to say they, too, had seen the spaceship-shaped clouds. Norma Lawson said: "I also got a photo of this when I was at Garthdee at 10am. Amazing." Shona Gibson added: "Beam me up, Scotty." However, Sean explained that there is no need to fear being transported off-world just yet. "Even though many people may not have seen these types of clouds before, they are fairly common here in Scotland. "In any country that has decent sized mountains there will also be occasions when these lovely clouds are seen. Sometimes mistaken to be UFOs, these clouds are called altocumulus lenticularis, and are formed by air flowing over the mountains." theboar.org/2014/05/16/the-nature-of-ufo-sightings/#.U3fF-XamXmhStrange clouds, lightning and extraterrestrials: The nature of UFO sightingsWritten by: Declan Perry May 16, 2014 Lenticular clouds are often mistaken for UFOs. Photo: Wikimedia Commons When contemplating UFO sightings your thoughts would probably take you about 5000 miles away, to the US Mid-west, where sensational events such as the Roswell incident are part of folk history. But recently, a UFO sighting occurred somewhat closer to home. An unusual black ring was spotted floating in the sky above Leamington Spa, which some proclaimed to be the work of aliens. However, the real explanation was less exciting, being just one of many natural and man-made phenomena that are regularly confused with UFOs. The perfectly formed black ring was spotted by a 16-year-old girl playing tennis with her mother in central Leamington Spa, where it floated in the air for several minutes before evaporating into nothingness. During the following days, social networking sites and local papers were awash with reports that this strange sighting may have been of extraterrestrial origin. Several experts from different fields searched for a more rational explanation and many different theories were formed on what gave rise to such an object. Some suggested a strange weather event caused the confusion, whilst others suggested an unusually dense swarm of insects or flock of birds were to blame. But these theories were all discounted, with experts concluding that none of them were sufficiently plausible. One thing was for sure though, it was confirmed by an independent video analyst that the video was not a fake. Just as it seemed the mystery was going to go unsolved, Warwick Castle released a statement that shed light on the mystery: “As part of our 1,100th anniversary celebrations this year, we’ve been testing a number of fire effects to enhance our daily Trebuchet Fireball Spectacular show – the world’s largest firing catapult. We’ve seen a number of different effects including the vortex images that have been reported.” It was confirmed by an independent video analyst that the video was not a fake. So it seemed fireworks tested at Warwick castle were behind the strange sighting. The castle spokesperson went on to say: “As yet we don’t know how the fireworks caused the phenomenon but it’s certainly a spooky spectacle.” In the case of the Leamington Spa UFO, a man-made phenomenon proved to be the cause of the confusion. But natural phenomena can also produce confounding effects for onlookers. In fact, one of the most famous UFO sightings in history was explained by a strange weather event, which caused a rare and extraordinary type of cloud cover. The event in question happened in December 1953 in Agoura, South California. At around sunset, an aircraft engineer named Clarence Johnson noticed a strange motionless elliptical object in the sky, set against a brilliant sunset. The next day a pilot named Rudy Thoren, who worked at the same company as Johnson, also reported seeing the same object in the sky. The plane, flown by Thoren, had five passengers who all gave similar accounts. Given the credibility of the witnesses, most of which were pilots or engineers, the government took the sightings seriously. An investigation was launched, and after much deliberation it was decided that the strange object spotted in the sky was actually a lenticular cloud, a conclusion that is debated to this day by some. Spooky 'UFO mothership' spotted moving over China COULD these photographs be proof of spaceships arriving from another galaxy? By Patrick Knox Published 13th October 2015 ALIEN: A UFO cloud over the Heilongtan Reservoir, in Renshou county of south-western China What appeared to be alien mothership shaped clouds were spotted over the Heilongtan Reservoir in south-western China’s Sichuan Province by amazed tourists who were on a boat ride at the time. The travellers claim they witnessed the strange saucer shape moving in a darkening sky. The images quickly went viral on Chinese social media. Chinese media are now hotly debating whether the cloud could have been formed naturally as a result of air currents flowing up and over surrounding mountains. “It looks too much like Independence Day to me, can't believe these are real” Dewei Yen, China FLIGHT: The saucer shape cloud moved slowly across the sky But the images have sparked a series of conspiracy theories that assert that these are proof of visitors from another planet. However, many are convinced the saucer cloud was caused by a lighting phenomenon in the camera’s lens. Others claim the photographs are simply Photoshop manipulations. Online user Dewei Yen posted: "It looks too much like Independence Day to me, can't believe these are real." www.strangerdimensions.com/2016/12/20/aliens-hiding-among-clouds/ Are Aliens Hiding Among the Clouds?By Rob Schwarz December 20, 2016 On December 6, 2016, a mysterious spherical cloud appeared in the skies of Japan, looking like some kind of fluffy, hovering cotton ball. Pictures of it (below) first spread throughout social media, then eventually hit the news.UFOs Hiding In Clouds Image: Archangel12/Flickr via CC by 2.0 On December 6, 2016, a mysterious spherical cloud appeared in the skies of Japan, looking like some kind of fluffy, hovering cotton ball. Pictures of it (below) first spread throughout social media, then eventually hit the news. The individual who took the pictures (and posted them on Twitter) said the cloud first appeared very spherical, then later seemed to dissipate. Its unusueal appearance led many to wonder — how did it get so round? According to ScienceAlert, such strange cloud formations are not uncommon. In fact, it’s entirely possible this spherical cloud only appeared spherical from that particular angle. Another photograph, from a different angle, showed it as more jagged and oval in shape. It may have actually been a cumulus fractus cloud. However, while that explanation may settle the Case of the Mysterious Japanese Cotton Ball Cloud, there are some who believe certain mysterious clouds are more than meets the eye. Are aliens hiding within them? Cloaking in the CloudsJust last month, UFO Sightings Daily shared an old story from 1966, in which a mother and daughter allegedly had their own encounter with a “cotton ball” cloud in New York. Like the one mentioned above, it too seemed to dissipate, but afterwards something incredible happened. As the cloud vanished, it revealed a large saucer-like object, which then brightened and disappeared. Scott Waring himself has mused that these UFOs not only use clouds for cover (like what allegedly happened earlier this year, when a “UFO” was spotted moving behind a distant cloud formation), but actually create clouds as a form of camouflage. They use these “cloud cloaks” to get near humans without being noticed, so they can observe us in peace. Photo: Felizia Lorenzotti A mysterious UFO-shaped cloud baffled skiers when it appeared in the sky over Sweden. The bizarre cloud floated in the sky over ski resorts Åre and Duved on Thursday, prompting some to speculate that Martians had arrived for a day on the slopes. Many rushed to take pictures of the unusual phenomenon and posted them on social media. "I thought it was pretty cool," one of them, Elvira Kuper, told broadcaster SVT. Experts explained it was a so-called lenticular cloud, which forms over mountain peaks when the air is forced to rise as it hits the hillside. As it cools it condenses into a cloud. Thanks to their peculiar shape, they are often mistaken for UFOs. Here are some of the best pictures of the cloud:
