Hi everyone I'm not at my laptop at this moment. When I get the chance I will take pictures of my sketches (no scanner lol) and edit the post and show you guys the beings that I saw on my bathroom's towel. I just wanted to ask if anyone around here can see faces of beings in their towels? Or am I going nuts? lol ;D EDIT: Ok! Here are uh 4 pictures ;D sorry for the watermarks and quality, I'm too paranoid that my "art" might get stolen (anyway, who the heck is gonna steal those crappy sketches for lol ) I dunno why the last two came out dark, but anyway! What do you all think?

I haven't ever noticed anything on my bathroom towels other than grease smears when my sons used them for mechanical wipes. Heidi..you may have too much time on your hands (teasing you).

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ApopheniaNo, I don't particularly. Not since being a youngster. I saw shapes in my closet then all the time. I still close the closet doors before turning in. Matrixing, pareidolia, apophenia, and anthropomorphizing are often done by us. Being social by nature, human beings tend to attempt to identify with the world outside of us. We subconsciously do this by trying to find things we recognize, especially human attributes, within things we see and hear. One of the first skills we learn as infants is pattern recognition. The recognition of patterns is a fundamental skill needed by animals to spot predators, and is associated with survival. It isn't just visual too, it can include sounds. Perhaps the furnace kicking on in your home at night makes an other-worldly noise that resembles a human scream. The mind sorts it out and perhaps considers a new furnace belt. This natural response to our outside environment and its stimuli is known as 'pareidolia', which is a psychological phenomenon through which a random, vague image or sound is seen as important. Common examples of pareidolia include seeing people or religious symbols in clouds, maybe hearing hidden messages on audio recordings played in reverse. This is not to say these images and sounds are not there. To help us rationalize, we consider, "so what is their significance?" The term 'anthropomorphizing' is when we attribute human form or personality to things not human. Seeing the face of Jesus on the toasted surface of a grilled cheese sandwich. Anthropomorphizing and pareidolia can be defined as being forms of apophenia. The human mind's natural tendency to find familiar shapes in complex shapes or colors. Seeing a scary face in the shapes and shadows of a collection of objects in a clothes closest was such in my own case as a kid. I wonder if such a thing as 'reverse Apophenia' exists? We become pre-wired through media and the Internet to look for UFO's. We then see an unidentified shape in the sky, our mind then perhaps in some cases force fits a preconceived Internet image into what we are actually seeing? A 'triangle' UFO for instance? Witnesses rationalizing, that flock of birds flying south in that 'V' formation.... ah! Just what the aliens want us to think! ;D Just wondering that myself. Thanks for sharing the drawings Heidi. The second drawing down is my favorite. Steve

I use to think I could see face patterns on a flowered wall or flowered curtains. But never on towels. Wow .. those are some pictures. I'm sure I would not miss a towel which had faces like these. Something like cloud images.. Thanks for posting these

I have never seen a face in a towel before. Can you take a picture of the towels the next time it happens? That might look kind of cool. Thanks for the drawings too. The first one looks like an evil mutant ninja turtle.

I saw my face in a towel once. I was covered with grease from working on my truck and I wiped my face off and I saw my greasy face staring back at me from the towel. I said, boy you sure have a greasy face. ;D

Steve. I did the same thing, always closed the closet door as I could see it open from my bed. the room was never totally dark. I seen my bathrobe too many times and I thought it was someone dressed in a long garment and all the time it was my bathrobe. I would get up and close the door ;D ;D
Too many times doing this I finally remembered to close it before I ever went to bed.

When I was a child i used to see shapes in my comforter that reminded me of lizards... and I would freak out all the time and tell my parents there were lizards under my covers... lol... You're a very good artist in my opinion Heidi. I can't even draw a stick figure. I also agree with sky. Take some pictures of the actual towels next time.

Hi all! Thank you all very much and Steve thanks for the info who knows, perhaps is just my silly pea brain playing games with me or something else. That's the towel, in the picture nothing is visible. I am sitting on the toilet and at my left is the shower, don't worry I wasn't doing anything just taking the picture ;D lol! I don't know how to explain how I saw the faces (bad english lol) they are usually tiny though. It's like if someone traced their faces perfectly well with a "pale purple pencil" so the "lines" that make up the faces with all the details are brighter than the towel, the shadows at the right place, everything. So, I don't know. :/ Maybe it was all just a trick of shadows mixed up with lighting.

You could have a simple case of matrixing on your hands. Matrixing is when your brain tries to make something out of the light and shapes your eyes are seeing. Its a subconscious reaction that occurs to a lot of people

Holy cow! I do see some faces in there. I see several of them in fact. One looks like a gorilla, another looks like a humanoid head turned sideways with big eyes and a huge smile on his face, and the other one looks like some kind of alligator or frog or something. Maybe they are just coincidences, like seeing shapes in the clouds or something like that. Perhaps our minds are used to picking out patterns so we see things that are just random images and our brains try to make sense of what we are looking at. I definitely do see them though. Is that the same towel where you saw the other images or were they different ones?

I think it probably is just a coincidence like Starship and Steve said. We are just recognizing patterns like when we see shapes in the clouds. I do see them though. Maybe it means we both have too much time on our hands. I think your English is very good by the way. It is certainly much better than my Spanish.

I think your English is very good by the way. It is certainly much better than my Spanish. I think your English is excellent I had no I idea you spoke Spanish as a first language. My Spanish is awful too sky, my Arabic is even worse. I had to learn to say " Its Ok , Im an American !!" in Arabic when I was in the Marines and never got it right. As far your towels and having to much time on your hands I wouldn't worry about it to much. Things like this happen to me all the time. i once thought I saw Elvis in a oil puddle.

Did you see the sideways smiley face? I went back and looked at it again and the faces had changed. I couldn't see the gorilla anymore but I saw a bears face instead. That's weird that they would change since it's the same picture.
