Here's my latest ghost story.... It was 4am this morning and I was laying in bed with my son and dog. My husband was already up and in the living room/kitchen. I was only half asleep because my husbands wandering around woke me up. As I lay there I felt a sudden jolt to the bed, as if someone kicked it. The whole bed moved. I popped my head up and looked around, but there was nothing. I looked over at my dog and she had her head up and looking around too. I sat and listened and heard my husband in the kitchen, so I knew he wasn't just in the bedroom. Lights flickering and shadows are one thing, but the bed moving? Um, yeah, that one creeped me out.

Is it possible that you could have moved instead of the bed? Maybe you had like an involuntary jerk or something and you just thought the bed moved, and maybe that is why the dog was looking around wondering what the heck was going on. It's just a thought but I do that sometime when I'm half asleep. I have no idea why. I'll just be lying there minding my own business and then my muscles will just explode all of a sudden. It is always kind of freaky when it happens.

LOL! My husband does that every night as he is falling asleep. Is annoying to all who might be in bed at the time. Even the dog will get up and leave him. ;D
It happens to me once in awhile, so I know what if feels like. I cannot rule that out, but I didn't feel any muscle movement. Usually, I feel the spasm and it will wake me if I'm asleep. Yet, like I said, I cannot rule it out.

It could have been a poltergeist. They move furniture sometimes.

He was snuggled up in my arms, so I think I would have felt him jerk. Again, I cannot rule it out, but I don't think it likely. He was snuggled in pretty tight. If he had spasmed I would have ended up with a knee to my stomach. ;D

Maybe the bed was posessed. Have you ever seen the Exorcist? The bed in that movie was moving by itself.

Now I'm officially freaked. Last night I crawled into bed and about 30 seconds later the light went on in my closet on it's own. I sat straight up in bed and stared at it for about a minute. Then I asked whoever was in my house to leave and to leave NOW. I then went over to check out the light switch, thinking maybe it was stuck at the halfway point and causing the light to come on. It was fully in the on position.
After we first moved into this house, this particular light would go on by itself at random times. I thought there might be a short in the line and had my husband check it out, but everything was fine. It hasn't gone on for almost two years now.
I think, couple with the other stuff happening this week, the light coming on right after going to bed is making me a bit more jumpy.

Oh, the thought crossed my mind. But, I'm honestly starting to feel anger rather than fear (probably from the lack of sleep). I've been dealing with strangeness all my life, but nothing as blatant as this, and certainly not as active as this week has been.

Buy you some sage insence and burn it in your closet and around your bedroom. That'll keep the spirits away...

You are the second one to tell me that today. I just feel as though something is trying to get my attention..., but why?
I'm going have to go on a sage hunt tomorrow.

Go to your local head shop... LOL... if you have any "Hippy" stores or "Metaphyiscal book stores" or any places like that... those are good places to find insence and burners and things. You can also look online...

Sounds like there is a lot of spiritual activity going on there. The next time something weird happens ask it some questions and see if you get any answers. Like "Who are you? What do you want? Do you need something?" If it answers then you can run screaming for the door. Actually, from what I have been reading about ghosts they sometimes do calm down if you attempt to communicate with them. Even spirits need company I guess.

Of course it might all just be a coincidence. Nothing to panic over I am sure.

The way I see it, I've been living here for quite some time and nothing terrible has happened. I've never got any dark or malevolent feeling while in the house, even when I was alone (my last home was a different story). Yes, strange things have happened, but they are of the harmless sort. Lights going on are very different, in my mind, than hearing footsteps walk towards me. I've never felt as though I've been touched or pushed or harmed in any way. So, as long as it is stays this way, I'm ok with it. Yes, it might make me sleep a little less one night, but then life moves on. Last night I took a sleeping pill and slept very well, and not a thing happened.
As I said before, I feel as though something is trying to get my attention. I can't tell you why I feel this..., I just do. So, I'm going to keep my awareness up and see what the world has to show me.

Good idea, sanseed. We should all pay more attention to what the world tells us.

Did the ghost come back yet sanseed? I still think it is a poltergeist but they usually don't hurt people. Maybe he is just lonely and wants somebody to play with.

No, things have been quiet the past few days, and I'm happy about it. There was enough weirdness in that one week to last me for some time.

And the strangeness continues....
Over the weekend, my husband changed out the light switch for the closet. He found nothing wrong with the old switch, but changed it anyway figuring that the problems could be internal. This way, we figure we eliminate one possibility for the light going on by itself. He did say that the old switch was rather cheap. Also, as a side note, the light when on one night while my husband was laying in bed. He was much more willing to change out the switch after that.
Last night as we lay in bed talking (with the lights on), I saw, just in front of the closet, a flash of light. Then a second later, I saw a shadow move quickly by the bedroom door, as if running out of the bedroom. Tricks of the eye? Maybe. The flash was pretty dim. Almost like a flashlight with dying batteries.
We have been in this house for several years, and this is by far the most active it's been. I don't know why this happening now. The moon being so close? Could that be a possibility?

I don't know if the moon would have an effect on ghosts. Maybe all of the earthquakes woke them up. Did you make any changes to the house? Sometimes remodeling makes them more active.

It happened again last night. I woke up a little before 3:30 and took a drink of water and rolled over and closed my eyes. Just a few seconds later I felt, on my side of the bed, the bed being depressed, like someone sitting down on the bed. Well, that made me sit straight up, but I saw nothing. I even got up and walked around the house, checking on everyone. Nothing. Everyone was were they were suppose to be.
