Steve that's a fascinating reporting anomoly you noticed. I think that since they had a separate list for the category 2s and 3s you are right in surmising that these are still not being included in the full reports. Is Mufon keeping secrets? it wouldn't be the first time. ps. thanks for the Australian maps. Would you provide a link where I could read the reports.

Thanks Piggy for your comments. Will see what I can post about those Australian March reports. Swamps comment brought out these old concerns again. I wanted to post and display these anomalies using a former International Director comments and monthly cataloging summaries to show & to compare if I missed something and I was the only one seeing these anomalies and forming those conclusions. Amid the 'noise' there actually are a few nuggets to compel one to think there really is something to this. It was slowly then I reluctantly began to form the conclusion high strangeness cases were being suppressed or channeled somewhere else. It all began to form a clear theory I had. Many of the Mufon Board of Directors allegedly had Military Intel back grounds. Clifford Clift, James Carrion (both even in the same unit while in the US Army in Europe), Marie Malzahn, FBI in some capacity (appears she was not a special agent despite claims she was even a sniper in the US Marines. Well, a quick search shows the US Army and Marines (only the USAF Air National guard has only one) does not have or has ever had women snipers because US laws still do not allow women in the Infantry). Malzahn made a 'donation' to mufon of $3000 to explain her quick rise in the organization. Malzahn was not even a member of mufon prior to January 2008. BOD Chuck Reever (who is retired but still a BOD member - his wife a former JPL scientist) the previous Director of Investigations who groomed Malzahn harbors many secrets - some of them perhaps only to hide some internal ineptness within mufon - but Reever was caught red handed by the first Star team director who had the same 'level of permissions' (power) then in the organization as the Star Team director - concealing some very high strangeness cases reported to mufon on government native American reservation land - involving landings, entities, and evidence of government reaction - a few of the so called missing cases mufon claims do not exist. THEY DO EXIST! I know - I have copies of these reports given to me by the former Star team director as proof I required for his claims. So mufon is lying about that. Another mufon board of director who has a very interesting background is Tom Deuley, a retired Naval Officer - lieutenant commander USN with a background in naval intelligence, nuclear Weapons, nuclear Power, and an employee of the NSA (National Security Agency) His Internet bio phrases this in a broad term 'Communications Security'. Deuley was the one who with other ufo organizations controlled the 'Ambient Monitoring Project'. This entailed very briefly here monitoring 13 experiencers in their homes with their full knowledge with electronic monitoring equipment linked on the Internet to a central station and keeping daily logs. One being monitored reported several experiences - and co-incidentally were detected by the installed equipment. One fine Sunday morning in 2001 with only 30 minute notice - this mufon project's equipment was retrieved by none other than an air force officer in his uniform! (maybe the 'uniform' only had 30 minutes notice too?). So there is some evidence the Mufon board's Military backgrounds are more than a co-incidence. Why are they all congregating there? I have surmised - and many others in former mufon positions have independently surmised too - mufon maybe a non-profit 'volunteer organization (when mufon screws up - how often we seem to hear over and over - 'volunteer') who might be monitoring UFO activity from public reports - and when certain particular higher strangeness cases do surface - they are sent elsewhere to be correlated with perhaps other 'intelligence'. Mufon for the most part is composed of well meaning people - working hard for the 'truth'. But ultimately - unbeknownst to them - are they really? Also you cannot file for a FOIA request to a non- profit organization. That mufon started in 1969 - the same year Blue book folded too - a co-incidence? That the Mufon BOD is not elected by members - and is beholden to no one... see the facts here why such a 'conspiracy theory' (I normally hate conspiracy theories - because they usually have so little basis in facts) might be formed that mufon has some active secret government connection. Bigelow is another quandary. I commend these persons with Military Intel backgrounds for their service to our country - in this world of ours such activity is indispensable. But why so many of them at the top of mufon? When you retire from some of the organizations listed - you are never really ever completely 'retired'. Another is BOD emeritus former International Director John Schuessler - who supposedly still has a government security clearance - which one would imagine requires such a clearance to be reviewed and continually renewed. (beyond the security debrief at the end of one's good service). The UFO maps research anomaly years ago brought attention of some possible nefarious activity for me perhaps near the top of the organization. The fact in recent years the tone of the organization became more 'military' and much less 'academic' for the purposes of 'control' was telling as well. An important abduction researcher and Budd Hopkins which I both know (or knew - Budd sadly now passed away) once idly speculated privately as many as half the people attending symposiums were secret experiencers. I know myself many mufon investigators maybe. I know I have been privileged to attend a few of their hypnotic regressions to know that first hand for a fact. They are looking quietly themselves sympathetically for their own answers - on their own secret journeys for the truth. So some in mufon may have memberships for many natural reasons. Is the phenomenon more active than ever? Mufon proclaims UFO reports are higher than ever. I disagree respectfully. Such 'proclamations' (one of Stan Friedman's favorite words) seem natural related to recruitment to coincide with mufon's low membership numbers - they are still operating in the red as far as 'Mufon International' is concerned. Local state chapters - some struggling and some quite financially successful (until former ID Clifford Clift announced Mufon international was going to seize some of that money to sustain financially their HQ infrastructure. 'Colorado mufon' being one prime example. Former State Director of Colorado Leslie Varnicle - who among others in that chapter were responsible for being good stewards financially and built up a large savings account and resisted Clift - ousted as a result. Most of the best people researching and investigating cases now - myself included I hope - are now working busy as ever independently. I still think some high interest cases are disappearing somewhere - beyond simple duplication of reports - beyond editing out obscenely worded reports by a few in the public - despite what amusing mufon journal articles state to the contrary. I know - I have copies of several such cases meant to have disappeared out of view by at least one who is still a Mufon BOD. The mufon BOD has a huge image problem within Ufology. Most have not investigated cases themselves in years - perhaps decades. The one exception seems to be the new ID David Macdonald. He appears at least to be connected and hands on as far as investigations - having done some competent investigations himself. MacDonald hopefully needs to get some of the rascals out at the top who have damaged a once well meaning organization. It still is - in spirit at least in the trenches. But the old 'top down' management style has fostered some very lazy state directors resting on past political laurels - and perhaps other useless 'castles'- obsolete as an old B-17 flying fortress. (as beautiful as those planes are - using that analogy). Some of the secret ideas some of the BOD then had when Mufon was thinking Bigelow money were so outlandish and legally and financially irresponsible - it makes some conspiracy ideas seem tame. I think some of those ideas are now kept secret more to conceal how inept and embarrassing they may seem now. So I know first hand how some of these individuals then conceivably were thinking. Time to start managing with fresh and practical (and realistic) ideas - as much trickling up as has been in the past unfortunately trickling down. Many of these BOD are old (and some relatively young too) may only go out gently one funeral at a time. I hope MacDonald can open some windows and blow a few fresh breezes in. Some indications are he wishes in his heart and mind this too. Time will tell. Too much information. Contrary to what some reading this may think, I hope this will help in airing out = healing a once well meaning organization which says itself is working 'for the benefit of humanity'. Steve

As a kid in the 1950s UfO information was lacking but I took a book by Keyhoe and plotted his reported sightings on a map of the US and recorded date, number of UFOs and direction of flight. Once completed you could see where a flight of UFOs came in over Maine where they split up where they went and then finally they joined up again over Baha Calif flying east over the Pacific. Does anyone record such simple data on a map. For some reason the maps dont come up on my computer on the map thread

That is very interesting, Steve. Too many ex-military for comfort and when cases go missing, well, what are people supposed to think? Conspiracy of many OR the duplicity of one, but something is rotten in Denmark.
Perhaps it would be better if the BOD was made up 50/50 of appointed seats (as now) and elected seats representing various regions or zones (or whatever they call them, ie. the midwest).
Another innovation would be to limit the terms of the directors so they can't serve a lifetime appointment.
We can live in hope but organisational culture doesn't change overnight.

Those were some of the things the Committee to Reform MUFON was trying to get implimented but the BoD refused to give up their power. I suppose they will just continue screwing things up like they have been.
My personal opinion is that there are a variety of problems that MUFON is facing right now. One is that some of the people in charge are totally incompetent, while others seem to be acting in their own personal interest rather than for the good of the oreganization. Either of those could explain the discrepencies with the case reports.
There are some good people there too but they are definitely fighting an uphill battle.

There was a book as i recall UFOs and the straight line mystery that delt with UFOs in France that appeared to be mapping the French country side. if one were trace UFO reports and plot them on a map it may be possilbe that considering dats and direction of flight that eventually one would have a series of plotted flight lines that join at a common hub point These hub points could be the location of grey bases. Its like the so called star wells in the desert of North Africa. trails visable from the air converge at wells for water creating a star burst pattern on the ground. Water wells are easy to spot the same idea for plotting UFO flight traces.

My husband and I are going to Haida Gwaii (formerly Queen Charlotte Islands) at the end of the week - for at least 10 days. There is much less light pollution there and I hope to be sitting outside with a small fire watching the sky. I'll let everyone here know if we see or experience anything unusual. (To my knowledge, it is not under a flight pattern but Steve might know that).

I think that is where that Japanese motorcycle washed up on the beach. There might be some more interesting things floating around. Don't know if it would be anything I would want to take home with me though. Have a good trip and be careful, Paulette. Keep your eyes on the skies and on the beach.

An update (we are back). Very little obvious Japanese debris - a plastic float or two, a water bottle, and a lot of stryofoam now in small lacy bits. My fears were not realized.
Although the folks living on Haida Gwaii eat a lot of seafood it was hard as a tourist to get any! No razor clam stew, out of halibut several times I asked. So my food contamination issues were limited to what is in Canadian beef. And french fries!
We experienced NOTHING that suggested the unusual. We were alone on back roads and beaches. We saw black bear, one whitish bear (on side of road no less). Wolf and moose and elk tracks and scat. A lot of amazing geology. Nothing in the sky. No eerie vibes.
It just got quiet in my head. And that was a good thing.
