I shall be taking the dog to get groomed, that's what. He doesn't like it, many dogs don't, but he should be getting used to it at his age. And since you have expressed interest, later it is grocery shopping. Then back to writing - I do a lot of that, being retired these last few years.
PS. Oh yes, and I have been charged with vacuuming the stairs. Falling down on that could have serious consequences. I understand lots of older people fall down stairs though - I learnt that from a TV advert for stair-lifts. That's the stair lift that stops automatically if it runs into a child's toy, or a dead mother-in-law, or anything like that. Isn't modern technology wonderful?

So....one is in the chairlift and it stops, due to a toy wedged under it. (Or a dead mother-in-law) I guess the sitter makes their way down the stairs (without a cane or immediate access to the rail?).
I am starting to fall down. Getting up is ruthless. If I can crawl to the stairs and get my feet under me, I can get up. If I was living alone...?
This is a rapid come on fact of life.
I write as well...

Paulette (I knew there was someone else alive, because I've occasionally seen people walking about out there). Re your DISCLAIMER: 'If we weren't half crazy we wouldn't be here', there should be a science fiction story about the crazies being by far the majority, where the 'normals' are kept in special asylums for the sane. It would be very frustrating for them in there, seeing what was going on and knowing how nutty it all was, and they being able to do nothing about it. Then I though, but wait, isn't that an apt analogy for us watching from the sidelines as the politicians argue for ever about non-issues, or about human attitudes that are inborn in people and can't be legislated against, while everything that determines our future, and whether or not we have one, goes to pot. .
