In the interest of disclosure: Some subjects within our orbit of interest I have on hold, pending the awaited ultimate breakthrough. They include:
Bigfoot/Yeti, Alien abduction, UFOs seen as interstellar craft, ghostly hauntings, hypnotic regression, the Ouija board, the Loch Ness monster and lake monsters in general (as flesh and blood creatures), Atlantis (the Atlantis according to legend), guardian ‘angels’, and poltergeist phenomenon. I am open to the concepts, but feel information and convincing proof is too lacking to confidently spend much time on it.
What I pay much more attention to, in some cases because of having direct experience of the phenomenon, is precognition and prescience, knowledge at a distance, déjà vu, jamais vu, timeslips, divining, spiritual mediumship, and other little understood or explored and unexplained effects of (what we assume to be be the repository of 'mind') the brain.
The questions that also arise for me: how much beyond our concept of reality and existence would we need to stretch to comfortably accommodate all conformed paranormal effects? Is it conceivable the mind would have access to a memory store outside our selves, beyond our own brains (say, our entire bodies, or tapping into the hypothesied Akashic record)? There is always the possibility our good faith suppositions for the causes of paranormal effects are way off beam, and it is something else entirely. All the way to the imagined huge wobbling brain floating in a pool of nutrient, constantly crossed and criss-crossed by electric currents that are what create our combined life experiences.
