Paulette said she isn't able to post here. She said when she tried to she just got an error message. It seems to only be on this thread. I'm trying to figure out what the problem is.

"(For the Hopi a kachina is a masked spirit that can assume the form of any physical object, phenomenon, or living being.) " (from the site that jokelly listed, above) Again, sounds like a shapeshifter ;D . I said recently that not all "shapeshifters" are "bad". I also read the information from the site that sunbow listed. Both sound pretty accurate with what I have heard before... I love Arizona! But personally, I have problems with going underground with anyone, especially as far as they went. If you look at stories from farther south, Mexico, etc., they also talk about their ancestors coming from "underground". I believe there is a deep network under parts of Texas also... I have also believed for a long time, that "Noah" was not the only "boat" to escape in the great flood. He is just one "great family's ancestor". First of all, it stands to reason that after so many years of making his boat, someone else decided to copy him. Also, there were "other beings" privy to G_d's plan (if we can look at it that way) and knowing they could not stop an act of nature, "they" did what they are always trying to do. See how much they can influence the humans . There is also history of "beings" that seem to come out of the water. Could they somehow take humans there? Last but definitely not least: Let's say, for example, your original place was as a beautiful "star" of the heavens. You had a special place and a special home as part of that portion of G_d's creation. You loved what you were made for, but you ventured away from your home, and this upset the "balance". You did it too often and you got "kicked out". What's one of the first things you do when you make your new home? Since you can't go back, let's make this new place look as close as possible to the other home! Enough for now...

Yeah!!!! Skywalker fixed it. There is a deep network of caves in Mexico and Central America that were used by the Mayan people and they really discourage outsiders from exploring them. While I was in the Caving Club of U. of Texas three people were in the Mexican highlands exploring new caves. My friend Don was tending the rope (outside the sinkhole) and a man and his partner were both down in the cave about to ascend. She was about 400 feet off the floor when a machete wacked down on the rope and it shot over the edge and disappeared. My friend Don wondered if he was going to be killed, if the person on the rope was injured or dead. Turned out, the rope was hugging the wall and she was immediately above a small ledge. Nevertheless the weight of the rope almost pulled her off and she and her partner knew that she was in a terrible situation. If all three had been the cave - they would have slowly died. If the man above was dead they still would slowly die. Don ran back to the where they had parked the vehicle ( a long terrible way) and rigged another rope and the two climbed out and left immediately. I once was hanging on a rope at Joya de Sala when an Indio came over to seemingly chat with the tender and stepped on the rope. I looked at the vertical face in front of me and wondered how long I could cling before I fell. I came up faster than I ever had in my life. These areas were guarded and I suspect they still are.
I wish to add that Don was well known to me and would not exaggerate the seriousness of what happened. He took it upon himself to sit up all night by various caves when the people exploring went into the night.

Well, you do have to constantly focus on the road. And you shouldn't be talking (or texting) a live human at the same time ;D. Nice to know you do fix things. I seem to be "stuck" here, after posting a bit this am. I get "kicked" off (i.explorer says can't find the page), I put in your site in my search engine, and I get put back here. I guess this is a nice way of someone telling me I have other things to do today .

I read somewhere, in the past few weeks, that when these "beings" came from the ground (or wherever they seemed to come from) that they asked the humans NOT to make statues or likenesses of them. It was explained that they had come to "help", and any likeness of them would be interpreted (later?) as reverence. Of course, humans without cameras are likely to go ahead and make drawings . I don't recall where I read this. It was important to me (and to some of you, I guess) that I be able to give a reference. I'm frustrated by "my lack" of memory lately, on matters such as this. I can recall thinking, at the time, that it was something I should post on teor, and then it just left my mind.

"and then it just left my mind. " This is happening a lot lately. Over a week ago, at my friends house, I saw a new painting of her brother's that was sold for over 800.00. The painting was very vivid, and was about a "folklore" of Mexico. My friend told me the name of the folklore, for me to look it up, and I totally forgot about it. Totally. I had never heard of it and of course my interest level is high. For those of you that don't know, Kansas City's Northeast has a large "latino" culture. We are definitely a "melting pot" as I've also had/have friends that are Greek, Italian, etc. I mean, almost full-blooded, retaining culture, etc. You know I am friends with these people when they share their "stories". But I don't go looking for them. I could probably call my friend just to ask about the "folklore", but I won't. However, I will be embarrassed if she asks me what I was able to find out about it. . . Drat. All I can do is ask for my memory to come back. ;D
