Greetings All-
Anyone know of good literature/groups/teachers for pathworking on the tree of life (Cabala practice/mental transmutation through the tree of life)?
Can anyone help point me to tiphareth?
What are some perspectives on entheogens in a ritual use, for pathworking and climbing the tree of life?
Yakker

Hi Yakk,
Just getting around to your post. We all work the lower paths of the Tree every day/night. We move from the waking state (Malkuth) through the Gate of the Beyt into the unconscious dream state (Yesod/Below) in Yetzirah; then through the Gate of the Gimel into deep sleep (Tifareth/Last); and, then back via the reverse route. Almost everyone does this without maintaining conscious awareness.
The practice the mentor promoted for gradually bringing conscious awareness to Sefirah Tifareth/Last is the repetition of root mantra associated with one's Small Face Chosen Ideal. The repetition of the root mantra purifies the ego/mind, which is deluded in its identification with the physical body and bound by desire for sensual gratification. The pivotal symptom of this purification is the gradual shift whereby the ego mind identifies with the One without a second embodied in/as all beings. Perception of diversity fades away, and selfish desire transmutes into pure love and unconditional devotion. Depending upon one's spiritual condition at the time of death, one may continue through further transmigration driven by residual tendencies and mazal, move into an "upper heaven" and abide there for the duration of the Creation cycle, or become extinct in the eternal embrace of Small Face in Atziluth.
If a person's ideal is Vast Face, then Sefirah Tifareth will be formless/"dark" when they pass through it. While many are deluded by their intellects into thinking they are spiritually well constituted for focus on Vast Face, it is actually only the case for a small percentage of aspirants.
Bottom line, engage in spiritual practice as an offering to your Chosen Ideal/Guru without expectation for the fruits of your work. Experiences will come via grace as you need them. More often than not, those who engage in practices out of selfish intent run into trouble along the way.
Sages of perennial wisdom generally recommend against the use of entheogens.
Thank you for your questions.

The S.HaShmoth is "just" a book of Names and Trees. Each page of the book has one Name, and the Tree language is given after the Names. The mentor regarded the S.HaShmoth as the most quintessential and powerful qabalistic book in existence.

When you go to sleep, lie on your back, hold on to one thought e.g. mantra, and try to remain conscious as you leave your body. The mentor encouraged us to keep a dream journal as well. Mystical dreams are typically serial over time, so the journal helps understand the connections among one's spiritual dreams. Of course, for most folks, most dreams are just unconscious foddling, oodling, and churning of mental, emotional, and physical loose ends. But most people who are actively on a spiritual path have conscious dreams with mystcial content at some point which are important signposts on one's path. The mentor said that without such development in Yetzirah, a person is still spiritually a baby. He cited that most people posing as spiritual teachers have not even reached the first level of awakening, and are all talk and no walk.
Kind regards, - -
