That's possible, Jo. There are some parts of the world where weird things keep happening on a consistent basis. If these are interdimensional rifts I would be interested in knowing what causes them to happen. Perhaps the ley lines have something to do with it?

The mothman of Point Pleasant seemed to be connected with a tragedy that happened later. This was talked about by the author John Keel and also in the movie about the case. I'm wondering how often these things show up before an emergency? Even if a town is just on "high alert" because one of these things has been seen, I wonder if that helps prevent something that could have happened?

I read that book a long time ago but I forgot what it said...it was a long time ago. I've never seen the movie. Perhaps I should watch it just to see what happens. Is it similar to the book? I'm not really a big fan of Richard Greer though.

This three men during WWII was all in the same trench all of a sudden something was flying toward them they duck but still looked up to witness the body of a human but the wings of a butterfly was attach to him.. This occurred in the middle of the night.. all three told the same story later. I read this before I ever knew of the Mothman from Virginia

www.ufodigest.com/article/mothman-redux-part-1 Mothman Redux: PART 1Top Photo of the Mothman, Point Pleasant, West Virginia By William Grabowski August 13, 2012 I think it’s a fair assumption that UFO Digest readers are familiar–-perhaps overly so–-with the events that occurred between 1966-1968 at Point Pleasant, West Virginia, regarding “Mothman,” UFOs, Men in Black, synchronicity, and literally the entire spectrum of psychic phenomena. This article, though based on extant material, will not be a simple rehash. I realize such a claim sounds impossible, but it isn’t. While I cannot guarantee to have reviewed all published pieces, I am confident that I’ve come close, since much crossover exists in the data. Too, I have visited Point Pleasant numerous times, spoken with many locals (including a handful who were present during the events), and done much foot-work. Despite this, it’s only fair to mention at least the most well-known Mothman sighting. On 15 November 1966, around 11:00PM, Roger and Linda Scarberry, along with Steve and Mary Mallette, were driving in Roger’s 1957 Chevy through the TNT Area (an abandoned site used during WWII for munitions production), when they saw something strange. The teenaged couples described it as a winged entity, nearly seven-feet tall, with red glowing eyes. Whatever it was stood near the old power-house (since demolished), and apparently took wing, pursuing the car at speeds approaching 100 miles-per-hour. Even today, I cannot imagine anyone driving so fast on Route 62. Though flat, parallel to the Ohio River, the road has several curves and in utter darkness is treacherous. It remains unlighted. You wouldn’t want to drive any faster than the (posted) 40 mph. This was no joke. The couples headed directly for the police station on Main Street, and gave a statement. None of them had any history as troublemakers-–quite the opposite. During their terrifying experience, they noticed a dead dog on the roadside. What they didn’t know was that a man living near Salem, WV, the night before, had set his dog upon some dark figure with fiery red eyes. Newell Partridge never saw his trusty German shepherd–-Bandit-–again. Later, accompanied by Point Pleasant Deputy Halstead, the couples drove back the 7 miles to the TNT area. Notably absent was the dead dog. While much has been made of this, it is possible that the dog was not dead, though injured, and simply managed to wander off. We’ll never know, but the fact that it was noticed at all is important. Mothman, as described by the witnesses, could not possibly fly with its 10-foot-wide wingspan. As noted by John Keel, a creature of such size would require at least 30-feet-wide wings to go airborne. Which brings us to the matter at hand. Hard as it might be to comprehend, the so-called Mothman entity remains the most difficult aspect to “explain.” Everything else, UFOs, Men in Black, bizarre telephone intrusions, poltergeist activity, can be conceivably figured. This is why I think the entity itself was a genuine unknown. I have studied at length the capabilities of American intelligence agencies during the 1960s, all of which is available in the open literature.

John A Keel wrote the book Mothman Prophesies and many other books that had to do with mysteries around the earth. I'm trying to get my paws on one he did called Our Haunted Planet and it has to do with aliens, mysteries and a lot more but I can't find it on the library circuit and it's not a cheap book. He did investigate the Mothman among other mysteries. As an update..the book has been posted online and what he has to say is amazing. Evidence of a superior race before the cavemen, his ideas on UFO's and other phenomena. He's an interesting and often funny writer. preterhuman.net/texts/alien.ufo/Keel,%20John%20-%20Our%20Haunted%20Planet.pdf I started to read the book to see how far I could get. At first he starts out with a complaint that all UFO and other mysteries enthusiasts dislike him and are fanatics. His immediate beginning in this area makes me wonder if he holds this in common with them. He said he's been criticized for typos and misspellings "which are not my fault". Of course they are! The book cited above is full of both. Part of being credible is to proofread. If he can't do it - get someone who can. Period. He may have a lot of good information. But he like "the other guys" jumbles it up. He says that science says there were no dinosaurs when cave men were around. Then he says, that there are pictures of primitve men killing mastodons. Point? There is no point. Mammoths were late arrivals (last great Ice Age) and it is common knowledge that they were hunted by men. They were not around when the dinosaurs were - not in any form we would recognize. He talks about rocks with chains in them, lumps of glass, gold wire, etc etc. I don't see little number beside these claims, with a reference below or at the end. And so, I stopped reading...

Re; Moth-cryptid-Drakkos-elcreepo-monstros....
Seems those folks may have seen a Drakko Reptilian, the bipedal proto-dragon of ancient Human lore. Certainly fits all the physical characteristics, ie, --small fold-up leathery bat-like wings which can't logically support flight (technology assisted?); its feet like its hands, --three toes and a claw; bi-pedal; 8 ~ 12 ft tall; weirdly telepathic, its psi-overlay causing weird electrical phenomenon and strange prophetic dreams often portending subjects of doom; and then, my favorite, especially those luminous bright blood red aqueous humor and orange-reddish pupil goat slit eyes. Bright red glowing eyes. Once seen, one never forgets those eyes and everyone in that town who saw those aliens, knows what I mean. I don't think I've seen a Moth-man, but I have seen a Drakko up close, --the descriptions are a very close match if not identical. Talk about giving one the creeps... And they eat us too.

Meeting the meat-eating draco reptilian alien would be a good start. Did I miss that post? Hi Paulette,
>"draco reptilian" versus "Drakko Reptilian"
To my knowledge there is no animal by the name "Draco Reptilian".
I started to use star system blah blah in my reply, but frankly its not the 'Draco' of interest here, at least not for me? I have expended a bit of time trying to figure out if there exists in Human literature a historical connection with the Sumerian Reptilians of Earth and that of the Draco star system. Beyond a couple of fairly recent literature references, cca 1800s, there seems to be no inferences with the idea of Dragons being affiliated with the Draco constellation. A more significant connection may exist, and frankly I'd love to learn about one. As any substantial information relating to Dragons in any context is of interest to me. I do believe that the Dragons of ancient lore are the mythological extensions of the Sumerian Reptilian Peoples. I think this has been fairly well established, but probably not framed in these terms. Irregardless of all this, the primary reason I cite Drakko Reptilians by the name "Drakko" is 1), a matter of respect, and 2), because, as I understand things, its how they spell their name.
I feel reasonably certain, that there was a significant connective link between the star system and the Sumerian Dragons.. The names, while not obvious, are just too similar. There are tantalizing items sprinkled through out history, one is the matter of the north facing Giza Pyramid side which was specifically aligned with the Draco constellation. Then there was a religious star sect, who were raided by the Roman authorities, these folks worshiped Thu'Et'Ben, the original star name for Draco. It means 'Dragon' in ancient Egyptian. To squash the sect, they bricked up the hole, which allowed easy sighting of the star for worshiping. Its a working theory of mine, that the builders of the Pyramids were Dragons, not Humans. I think it answers many thorny questions. Especially the matter of the Snakes (Uraeus) sticking out of the Pharaohs' heads.
upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/47/Tuthankhamun_Egyptian_Museum.jpg
However, the only reasonable reference I've been able to find with relation to the word itself, is the Akkadian spelling of "Draco" which here, in this form is the Latin spelling, --while the Akkadian name was "Drakonus", can it get any juicier than this?? Coincidentally the Akkadians were believed to be Dragons...Reptilians. Wouldn't they know how to spell their own name? So who do you wanna believe, the Latinos or the Drakkos?
In summary, I'd love to establish a strong connection between the Draco constellation and that of Drakko (Dragons) Reptilians of ancient Sumer, while edifying folks who are using the Latin spelling of the name for the Drakkos. In any case, tomato, tahmahtow, Drakko - Draco? If they are Dragons, let us hope they don't come back and eat us.
Next time, we'll chat about the Red One's historical cuisine interests.
Sincerely,

www.sott.net/articles/show/250182-8-foot-tall-biped-winged-creature-seen-in-Butler-County-Pennsylvania 8 foot tall, biped, winged-creature seen in Butler County, Pennsylvania Scott McMan Ghost Theory Fri, 24 Aug 2012 10:12 CDT This is the type of report I look for all the time and in my opinion, this one hits the jackpot! Not just one, but several reports have surfaced in the Butler County area regarding a giant winged creature. The story comes to us from Stan Gordon's UFO Anomalies Zone and I must say, Stan has got me excited. Maybe it's my fascination with Mothman or my interest in Bigfoot, but this has both rolled into one all purpose terror. It all began in the still dark, early morning hours of March 18, 2011 on a rural road between Chicora and East Brady. A businessman was driving along when he saw something that as he says, "made the hair stand up on his neck".
This is his story as related to Stan Gordon: On March 21, 2011, I was contacted by a witness who reported having an encounter with a very strange creature during the early morning hours of March 18, 2011. The incident occurred on a rural road in Butler County between Chicora and East Brady. The witness, a businessman passing through the area, stated that "this was the freakiest thing I ever saw, and it made the hair stand up on the back of my neck." The man told me that he was driving down the road when from about a ¼ mile away, he observed something on the right side in a grassy area. His first thought was that it was a deer. The driver stepped on the gas to move closer to get a better view. From about 50 yards away, he observed something that appeared to be hunched down, and then stood up. The driver then observed a very tall muscular creature. At this point, the driver had his high beams on and watched as the creature walked in front of a yellow reflective road sign, then crossed the two lane road in three long steps and continued into a wooded area. What he saw was a humanoid figure that stood at least 8 feet tall that appeared to have smooth leather-like skin that was of either a darker tan or light brown color. The creature never looked at the witness, and was only observed from its side. The head appeared to be flat in the front section, and then rounded out. "At the top back of skull, it was like one of those aerodynamic helmets. The top was not quite a point, but looked like a ridge on top of the head." The face was flat, and the eyes were not clearly defined, but the man thought that they might have been pointed in the corner. The ear that was observed on the left side was long and flat, and came up and back and was pointed backwards like a flap. The arms were muscular and a little longer than that of a human. The hands looked more like a claw, but the number of fingers was unclear. One physical trait that stood out were the extremely muscular legs. The witness stated that it was hard to explain, but the legs did not move like that of a human, and "looked like they bent backwards." The witness also saw what appeared to be wings on its back which were tucked into its body, with the wing tips extending toward the side of its head. No unusual sounds or smells where noticed during the observation which was estimated to have been about 7-8 seconds. As the motorist approached the location where the creature entered the woods, it could no longer be seen. The next day the witness decided to drive back to the location of the encounter to look for any evidence. The ground conditions were not suitable for tracks, and nothing was found. The witness did, however, measure the road sign that the creature had walked in front of. The sign was just over 8 feet high, and the head of the creature was estimated to have reached about 4 inches above the sign. Since that initial report that I received concerning this strange encounter, it has been learned that other local residents from that same area also reported seeing a similar unknown creature. Dan Hageman, Director of BORU ( Butler Organization of Research on the Unexplained), also received several reports from that same time period and general location. The following are some of the BORU summary reports on these incidents. March 26, 2011-Kepple's Corner-Two witnesses were driving to Butler when they witnessed a dark tan, 8 feet tall winged entity. The face appeared smashed in. It had a muscular body and a head that went to a point. The arms were long and it appeared to have claws for fingers. When it crossed the road it seemed to lope with each stride. The witnesses stopped the car in shock and sat there until another car came and they had to move. The witness is willing to take a lie detector test to prove what he saw. www.ufodigest.com/article/mothman-redux-part-2August 26, 2012 Mothman Redux: PART 2 By William Grabowski - As many readers of UFO/Paranormal literature know, the “right” questions have been asked (notably by John Keel, Jim Keith, Gray Barker—with qualification, due to Jim Moseley’s admission that he and Barker orchestrated some hoaxes—Timothy Green Beckley, and Loren Coleman) regarding the possible involvement of U.S. intelligence agencies in the Point Pleasant activities. I cannot help but illuminate several dark zones in their material. Since I have nothing but the utmost respect for these tireless investigators, I must note that I think Gray Barker had a big hand in the Mothman weirdness. Moseley has publicly admitted his role in the so-called Straith letter to George Adamski (typed on State Department letterhead to give Adamski the idea that his experiences were being taken seriously), but has not acknowledged having any involvement in the Point Pleasant matters. I don’t think he did. Keel has stated he collected many telephone records indicating Barker’s being responsible for a lot of electronic nonsense. That aside, questions remain. Why, for instance, if black operations were present in the Point Pleasant/TNT Area, concerning radiation experiments, the design of the atomic bomb, biological testing, and the additional possibility of the vast landscape being employed for development and even test-flights of man-made UFOs, did the town not experience anomalous events until the 1960s? 1. If UFO-type craft were being designed in the TNT Area, perhaps, in the 1940s, they were too unstable to be flown over a populous region, and the project was relocated to the far more desolate deserts of Nevada and/or New Mexico. Another significant fact is that 3 air force bases—Wright Patterson, Lockbourne (since renamed Rickenbacker, complete with a restaurant), and the Oakdale base south of Pittsburgh, are located within 200 miles of Point Pleasant. 2. TNT Area was active from 1942-1945, and even if UFO-type craft (using Paper Clip scientists from Nazi Germany) were produced there, by the time they were ready the war effort was winding down. The Point Pleasant events occurred during the Cold War, when paranoia ran high that Russia or China might attack America with A-bombs. At 54, I’m old enough to remember the “safety-drills” we underwent during my first 3 years in school. People were genuinely afraid. It’s a documented (unclassified) fact that our military forces feared UFOs were products of Russian and/or Chinese technology. Keep this in mind when considering what might have happened at Roswell. It was conjectured that these countries would unleash upon the U.S. a staged UFO “invasion,” thus clogging all communication channels and leaving us vulnerable to conventional attack. www.ufodigest.com/article/flying-humanoid-over-santiago-chile A Flying Humanoid over Santiago Chile By Scott Corrales Businessman Federico Rojo Feria provided us with a truly amazing story. During the spring of 1990, while at the Torre de Santa María building with female a co-worker, he found himself watching a human-looking flying entity from the 19th storey of the building. His account of the facts states that the vision was so surprising and shocking that both co-workers were paralyzed for almost two minutes -- the uncanny experience's duration. Raul Nuñez interviewed Mr. Rojo and kindly conveyed the report to our Bestiary. The witness re-stated his experiences of the time, saying that a flying entity passed only a few meters away from the large window at which they were located, engaging in a wide elliptical flight maneuver, gliding over the Mapocho River before climbing away toward the Cordillera. The wings were like those of a giant bird, but the other parts of the body were configured like a human's. He was unable to make out the arms clearly, as they blended into the shape of the large wings. The witnesses were traumatized for several weeks by the sighting. One of them became so panicked that he refused to speak of the subject again and his behavior toward his co-workers changed. To date, it has not been possible to find this last witness to hear their version of the events stated in this report. In scanning through newspaper files, this has not been the only manifestation of human-shaped flying creatures over Santiago and its surroundings. The late journalist Osvaldo Muray wrote in the defunct "Revelación" magazine about another flying being resting on a tree in the village of Juanita Aguirre in the 1990s. Eyewitness accounts similar to this one can be found elsewhere in the world. CONTINUE READING: www.ufodigest.com/article/flying-humanoid-over-santiago-chile

Auntym thank you for posting. I had forgotten about starting this thread .. I have missed a lot of your post. I do know one story which I told early on in this thread. Won't repeat it but will say the men in the trench during the first world war who witness a moth man would lead to one thing.. it was seen over seas. If the story is true.. They have been sighted around the world.
If they exist, I have to believe they are from somewhere else. I don't think we have to look at any missing links here ..That goes for Bigfoot also.

I was out running late last night down this dark, deserted road near the bank of the Red River at the Texas/Oklahoma state line. I saw a pickup slowly driving down the road shining a spotlight on the bushes like it was looking for something. As it got closer I saw that it was an animal control truck so they were apparently looking for some animal. Probably a stray dog or coyote or something. After the truck left I kept on running and as I was approaching a very dark section of the woods I thought I saw some huge thing with wings flapping up into a big tree. The first thing that popped into my head was the mothman. I thought I was a goner! I have no idea what the thing was. By the time I got to the tree I couldn't see anything so I may have just been hallucination because I was delerious from exhaustion.

www.ufodigest.com/article/mothman-visits-la-serena-chile The Mothman Visits La Serena, Chile By Scott Corrales September 14, 2012 According to a compilation of background information given to us by our contributor Sergio Alcayaga, a native of the city of La Serena, a strange incident took place in the heart of this city in the year 1987. Everything points to this incident having been silenced by the witnesses themselves in the light of the strangeness of the observation, which was utterly out-of-place and hard to understand. The deceased person shown in the photograph – Carlos Manuel Arancibia Esquivel – was a close friend of our contributor Alcayaga, and it was the witness himself who told the story to friends and relatives on many occasions. The experience haunted him to the end of his days. It all began when Carlos Manuel went to pick up his mother at her place of work. It was during the summer months (January or February, he couldn’t quite remember) and the time was around 23:00 hours. As he went by Plaza Buenos Aires, always busy, he noticed that several drivers and passengers of the Linea de Transportes Colectivos No.14 (La Serena-Las Compañías) were looking at a tall street lamp. To his amazement, he noticed they were staring at a large bird with tremendous wings and oddly humanoid features. The strange winged being was resting on a power line, and at a given moment, it issued a loud squawk that spread panic among the witnesses, causing many of them to hurriedly abandon the area. It would seem that [the witness] tried to assimilate this event by avoiding any discussion of it over the years. Our contributor has tried to find others who could perhaps recall more details as to what occurred in that instance. His search has led him to find some old bus drivers who were present the night the event occurred. When questioned, they did not deny that it had indeed occurred, but flatly refused to provide background information or details when asked for more information, given that they do not wish to seem fantasy-prone or angling for the limelight. This isn’t the first time that a news item of this sort has reached our newsroom from the La Serena region. In another instance, Ivan Voreved, another active IIEE contributor, got in touch with a family returning home along a dirt road at midnight. Suddenly, they saw a black shadow descending from the sky some two hundred meters (650 feet) ahead of them. The shadow landed gently on the dirt road the family was traversing. At first, they thought it was a plastic trash bag carried by the prevailing winds at the time. We can imagine their surprise when the shadow flew off as they approached, to the sound of loud beating wings. The family members managed to see a sort of giant bird with humanoid features in silent flight. The width of its wings was described as “immense”. sites.google.com/site/paranormalzonex/Shadow-People/Mothman-ParanormalThe Curse Behind the Mothman The Curse Behind the Mothman Winged Man-Sized Creature What is the Mothman? Some people believe that it is a supernatural being while others believe it is mass hysteria. There are theories that UFOs play a role in the mothman since there where many UFO sightings reported around that area. Other theories state that the mothman may be related to the owlman and possibly the grim reaper. What are people seeing or is it just folklore? The 'Mothman' is a creature reportedly seen in the Charleston and Point Pleasant areas of West Virginia from November 12th, 1966, to December 1967. Most observers describe the Mothman as a winged man-sized creature with very large reflective red eyes and large wings. The creature was sometimes reported as having no head, with its eyes set directly into its chest. Even a movie based upon these events was created called: 'The Mothman Prophecies' starring Richard Gere. The word "Mothman" was an invention by an Ohio newspaper copyeditor, after the first news stories of the "Big Bird" sightings appeared. www.phantomsandmonsters.com/2013/07/alaska-dark-man.htmlTuesday, July 23, 2013 Alaska: The Dark Man A few years ago I received an account of a dark Mothman-like humanoid in southwest Alaska. The witness (Nate) stated that he and others had encountered this being. I recently caught up with the witness, who confirmed that there was another incident by a villager the previous winter...but he had few details. The following narrative is the witness' own recollection: My first encounter with this thing most people call the Mothman was when I was nine years old and I remember it clearly like it was yesterday. I was walking back from my uncle's place. I was walking on the sidewalk and I saw this man standing on top of my fathers house close to the edge facing west. He was all black he looked like a man. He stood about 7 or 8 feet tall. I shouted out at him but he acted like he didn't hear me. I said "hey you...who are you?" I kept trying to get his attention...it was like I wasn't there. But when I said "hey you're standing on my house...who are you?" he looked at me for a few seconds. His face seemed like a normal persons face until it slowly opened it's eyelids and I saw a red glow...like his eye's were glowing not a red light but a glow. I froze and just stared at him. He stood there looking at me for 9 or 10 seconds and looked away and jumped really high and far. I'd say he jumped about 40 feet high and 70 to 80 feet away and as soon as he seemed to fall down, very long and large wings came out of his back and flapped twice...just in those two flaps he traveled about 100 feet and flew right over the high school. Since that day I never spoke to anyone about it cause I thought I saw the devil. I freaked out so bad I looked out for it everyday to make sure it wasn't around. That is my first encounter with that thing. It's body was like a man's and his face is like a man's too...but his eye's are what make's it so scary and weird. Those wings are very long and large. His whole body was all black...like not skin but blackness was covering him...I can't explain. I'm not the only one in my village that saw this thing but after that there have been many sightings here and in other villages....even to a point that the thing goes into people's house's while they sleep. That happened to someone I know. - Nate CONTINUE READING: www.phantomsandmonsters.com/2013/07/alaska-dark-man.html

www.ufodigest.com/article/top-roof-0810August 10, 2013 ON TOP OF THE ROOFBy Shy Brown There were a few times when Joey and I went up on the roof. We climbed a skinny ladder attached to the television antenna to get up there. Once there, I felt we were in a magical world. Everything around us seemed so surreal. As we glanced down at the tops of trees near our home, we felt like we were part of the sky. We imagined spreading our arms out like wings and flying off the roof. Of course, we never tried to fly. We just wondered about it. On one of those days, we watched a flock of rather, strange-looking birds. Now, living in Florida, the home for many birds seeking a warmer climate, we’ve come across different types of birds. For those landing our yard, hoping to get a worm or two, didn’t stay long. Dino, my cat, would sneak up and snatch one for dinner, while the rest would scatter. But, not today, Dino ran to take cover under the back porch. I guess these birds frightened him. They certainly looked different. They were dark in color, had human-looking legs, with long wings. They seem to glide, rarely flapping their wide wings. Their leader was much larger than the rest. Even though, they weren’t traveling in an arrow formation, where a leader is identified by its position But, It did stick out like a sore thumb, as the leader, because of its formidable size. I stood watching as they continue to glide across the sky, until Joey interrupted. “That big one doesn’t have a bird’s head.” I shielded my eyes with the top of my hand to get a better look. “I can’t tell, what kind of head it has, Joey.” “I’m telling you,” exclaimed Joey. “That big one isn’t a bird. It’s something else!” The bird things were too close to us. They were gliding just above the largest oak tree we had in our yard. If they stopped to settle on one of those mighty branches, we would never have a chance to get off of this roof and into our house. They would be able to swoop down, snatch us like vultures. My heart began to beat rapidly. I had trouble breathing. We had no place to hide. We were fair game for these bird things, unless we got off this roof, now! As if they were telepathic, one of them turned its head in my direction. “Oh, my God, Joey, you’re right!” I hissed. “They’re not birds!” Now, I knew wasn’t the time to panic. It was the time to act. I whispered to Joey, “Grenade.” CONTINUE READING: www.ufodigest.com/article/top-roof-0810

Sooooooo creepy . I would have fainted and rolled off the roof. Makes you wonder where is this type of being when he is not being seen. From a ufo? Maybe live in caves like the bats do. There sure is not many of them to speak of if they are from this world. Or they love to be out of sight. Doesn't make sense.

mysteriousuniverse.org/2013/09/encounters-with-flying-humanoids/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=encounters-with-flying-humanoids Encounters With Flying Humanoids September 10, 2013 Nick Redfern A few days ago, I received a review copy of the new book from cryptozoologist Ken Gerhard. Published by Llewellyn, its title is Encounters With Flying Humanoids. Ken is the author of a number of previous books, including Monsters Are Real, Big Bird!, and (with me) Monster of Texas. And, I’m very pleased to say, the book does not disappoint. Indeed, I read the whole thing in one sitting – which is a sure sign that the book is a very good one! As you will surmise from the title, Ken’s latest release is a study of all manner of weird winged things that appear to be at least partly human-like, but part-something very different, too. Before I get to the book itself, it’s worth noting that Encounters With Flying Humanoids is an excellent companion to Ken’s Big Bird! book, which deals with sightings of winged monsters of the specifically giant-bird and pterodactyl variety. So, with that said, onto Ken’s newest. It must be stressed that this is a book that very much needed to be written. There have, of course, been numerous books published over the years on such famous cryptozoological winged beasts as Mothman, the Jersey Devil, and England’s Owlman. What has been sorely lacking, however, is an excellent, comprehensive, in-depth study of all these and numerous other, similar creatures seen across the planet and spanning the centuries. Now, finally, we have that in-depth study. Encounters With Flying Humanoids is a book that will appeal to those fascinated by Cryptozoology, Forteana as a whole, the UFO issue, folklore, and ancient history - the primary reason being that Ken skillfully makes it clear that many of the mysterious flying people of our planet seem to be tied to all of these domains, to varying degrees. It becomes obvious from reading Ken’s atmospherically-written work that the winged humanoids of the title fall into several, clearly delineated categories: (a) monstrous, flying animals with humanoid forms; (b) literal winged men and women; (c) entities that seem to be soaring the skies via the use of jet-packs and advanced technologies; and (d) beings that seem far more paranormal than they do flesh and blood. In other words, no stone (or creepy critter) is left unturned. As for the content, you will not be disappointed. Yes, in a book like this it’s vital that the most famous winged beasts of all – such as the aforementioned Mothman, Owlman, and the Jersey Devil – are covered. And Ken does exactly that. But, what’s refreshing is that it’s not just a case of going over old ground. It’s the exact opposite. www.cryptomundo.com/bigfoot-report/mothman-festival-bound/ The Man, The Moth, The Legend: Point Pleasant’s Mothman Festival Returns!Posted by: Craig Woolheater September 20th, 2013 Last night at about 9 PM, Lyle Blackburn and I set out from DFW for Point Pleasant, WV. Lyle is a scheduled speaker for the Mothman Festival, and we both will have vendor tables. If you are planning to attend, be sure to come by and say hi and hang out! The Man, The Moth, The Legend: Point Pleasant’s Mothman Festival Returns! Every September an invasion occurs in the quaint town of Point Pleasant, West Virginia. No, the invaders aren’t visitors from space, but rather car loads of curiosity seekers, paranormal nuts, and Richard Gere fans (yes, they exist) descend upon the town, filling hotels, crowding breakfast joints, and snapping loads of pictures. Why would so many people congregate in this relatively unknown all-American town, you ask? To celebrate the appearance of a mysterious winged monster half a century ago. That’s the strange story behind the 12th annual Mothman Festival. Since his first appearance in the mid 60′s, the tale of the Mothman has become an iconic piece of American folklore, and an even bigger part of the community that was at the center of the unsolved mystery. For those not familiar with the beast, or the havoc he brought to town with him during a year-long nightmare, here’s a quick history lesson: The first widely circulated sighting of the Mothman occurred during the month of November 1966, when a group of five men diving graves in nearby Clendenin, West Virginia claimed to have spotted a large humanoid flying low over a patch of trees. Days later, the same bizarre creature would again be spotted, this time by Roger and Linda Scarberry and Steve and Mary Mallette of Point Pleasant. The description that the couples gave to the police that evening would go on to become the most iconic imagery of the Mothman to date. As the two couples drove home that night, they witnessed what they collectively described as a large flying man, with massive wings spanning ten-feet wide, and eyes that glowed bright-red. Much to the couples’ horror, the strange creature began following their vehicle down the winding, desolate West Virginia roads. Just as they pulled into town, the beast disappeared back into the night. CONTINUE READING: blog.roadtrippers.com/mothman-festival/

ufodigest.com/article/winged-creatures-1006October 06, 2013 UNCANNY WINGED CREATURES OVER SANTIAGO, CHILEBy Scott Corrales On 29 September around 21:00 hours near Bustamante Park in the downtown area, a strange flying creature was seen flying from one tree to another. Its size was estimated at around 2 meters tall and shaped like a manta ray. Ignacio, a young man who was the privileged witness to this brief yet disconcerting flying being sighting, does not wish to disclose his identity but made his narrative available to journalist [Juan Andrés] Salfate on Canal La Red. His description is specific, remarking that the entity had wings from the upper part of its body down to its lower part. He made a drawing of what he saw, which we present in this report. Eyewitness testimony soon appeared in other places in Santiago. A witness named amy confirmed the image of this human-looking “flying manta ray” in the Los Barrenchea Commune. Someone even stated the following by e-mail, from a location near Bustamante Park: “My wife and I saw this creature in one of the towers of the San Francisco church in Santa Isabel, and it was eating something similar to a dog. I think that if you inspect this tower you will find its remains. Unfortunately, I have no evidence to give you beyond my wife’s report and my own.” Incidents such as the above are recorded every so often in Santiago. In the Peñaloén Commune, over the past two years, IIEE has managed to secure similar accounts. Furthermore, we recall deceased journalist Osvaldo Murray, who wrote about the flying men who landed in the trees of the town of Juanita Aguirre in the 1980s, including it in his book “Los Seres de Luz” (The Beings of Light). It could well be a joke or a means to attract viewers to La Red’s morning show and to the referenced journalist, who many times delves into “showmanship”, but we could not overlook this account and our readers can follow it on the video at this link: www.lared.cl/2013/10/60602/extrana-criatura-voladora-es-vista-en-parque-bustamante/ [Translation (c) 2013, S. ufodigest.com/article/man-birds-1013October 13, 2013 THE MAN-BIRDS OF CHILE PART 1By Scott Corrales by Osvaldo Murray (From Revista Revelación, Santiago de Chile, May 1996 pages 10-13) There are some incredible stories, and this is one of them. So incredible that not even I believe it, but the facts are there and I am not going to change them, no matter how skeptical one may be. The start of this story kicked off – as a sort of byproduct of terror – of an equally incredible story: the death of a young woman in what the Catholic Church described as demonic possession. And I believe it in the sum total of the fantastic, despite the fact that I myself have photographed beings of light, flying low over the mountains that enclose the northeastern section of Santiago de Chile. The scene of the events is the town of Juanita Aguirre, whose northern border is Huechuraba Street, running parallel to the Americo Vespucio Beltway, running along the edges of a string of hills in which the word fantasy is paltry when it comes to describing what goes on in those hills. Reporting on the case of the possessed girl, I heard the story about a man-bird, something I’d read about in stories from the last century in London and in the 1950s in the United States. I’d never heard about it in Chile. Perhaps one could find a certain, albeit distant, kinship with the Chupacabras, which we made known in our earlier edition. But this matter of the flying man was something new to me, at least in the town of Juanita Aguirre. The fact is that I published the story and was about to forget all about it when a second person involved in the case of the possession victim told me a similar story several months later. That’s when the subject fluttered around in my head, but not going beyond that. Things took a different turn in February of this year: a young bank employee was rendered speechless for 15 minutes after seeing a white, transparent and gleaming fly over his head at no more than ten meters in the air…this happened right beside my house. It was then that I dusted off the previous stories, made some investigations and reached the conclusion that while the hills are the scenario for some unquestionably extraterrestrial reality, a mystery as old as UFOs surrounds Juanita Aguirre, one which I find deserving of in-depth research by a scientific organization and by some self-appointed “researchers” who only tarnish enigmas of this caliber, causing men of science to flee in the opposite direction, fearful of being mistaken with the clumsy tomfoolery that has surrounded the deepest mystery challenging humankind, due to the abundance of charlatans bestowing degrees upon themselves that no one conferred. What is curious is that while no one publishes these stories in a serious manner, no one speaks out, no one recalls a thing. All it takes is for the event to come to light for people to lose their fear of ridicule and the journalist is literally smothered with new disclosures. The first time I heard of the flying man in the town of Juanita Aguirre was during an interview with Luis. From this interview I reproduce the section corresponding to the man-bird: “When the Holy Father visited Chile, I was assigned by my work to the city of Puerto Montt, where I remained for fifteen days. During my stay, I got in touch with a friend of the Institution to which I belonged, asking him to check in on my family every so often, whenever he could, to see if they needed anything. I still didn’t have a phone at the time. One night, my friend came to my house and since my wife had already gone to bed, they spoke through the window. My eldest daughter was also present.” “They discussed my posting to the south and my friend asked she needed anything or if she had any messages to give me. Should anything happen, my colleague told her, tell me immediately and I’ll relay to Lucho down in Puerto Montt.” “Right in the middle of the conversation, my friend turned around suddenly, prompted by that sixth sense people have, and he saw something very strange on top of a tree in my back yard. He told my wife: ‘Nancy, look at the huge bird in the tree!’ A gigantic, black bird, so large that my friend told my wife: ‘Nancy, lock everything up and go to bed!’. He got in his car and went home immediately. Upon arriving, he told his wife everything that had happened, and then went to bed disturbed by what he’d seen.” “He told me everything later, and my wife corroborated it. It was an immense creature, gigantic, black. When my wife told me the story, which my friend had already told me, I tried to calm her down and give her some courage, but she was never able to forget that terrifying sight.” CONTINUE READING: ufodigest.com/article/man-birds-1013

A: Yes, it had a head. I couldn’t see it face, due to the distance separating us. But it had a body, legs, arms, everything. Q: Did it wear pants? A: The tunic covered it completely. Q: Could you see its feet? A: No, no, no. But it went by slowly, not quickly. Q: At what height was it flying, do you think? A: Five meters. Q: The trees on the corner are around six or seven meters tall, let me remind you. A: Then it was at ten meters, but very low. After seeing it, I was unable to speak for about fifteen minutes. I was so startled. I’d never seen or imagined anything like it. Q: Did this being seem to look at you? A: I don’t know. I don’t think so. I saw it heading straight toward the tree.” Q: How was it flying, vertically (standing up) or on its side? A: On its side. Q: What color was it, aside from white? Was there a certain luminosity to its tunic? A: Yes, it shined, as if glowing. There was a somewhat bluish glow. Q: Did the edges of the suit or tunic have a different color? A: Yes, it wasn’t completely white. Q: Could you please explain that better. A: It looked white in the middle, but not white on the sides. It’s so hard to explain what one saw. Q: What color was it? A: I don’t know, I can’t explain. Q: Is there a chance that you mistook it for something else, for example – though it sounds silly – a large kite? A: No, not at all. I’m entirely certain about what I saw, and what I saw was nothing known. Q: Did it make any noise? A: Nothing, no noise, nothing at all. That it could have been a plane or anything like it…no chance. Q: Did it fly like Superman? A: Exactly the same. Q: With its arms outstretched? A: No, with its arms alongside the body. It made no movement.
