Why would the eyes glow red? That doesn't make sense. I've never seen a animals eyes glow red unless you shine a light at them at night. Alligatores eyes glow red with a light shining on them. Maybe its part alligator.

Why would the eyes glow red? That doesn't make sense. I've never seen a animals eyes glow red unless you shine a light at them at night. Alligatores eyes glow red with a light shining on them. Maybe its part alligator. I grew up encountering this entity during the early 50s. Actually before the Point Pleasent reports if this entity came out as John Keel told me when I first spoke to him about it at one of his group's meetings in Manhattan. He was the one that first called it Mothman to me I and my brothers knew the thing as a Gonzwell,Gonzwell, or Mr. Gonzwell depending on the form it took when it came to our bedroom window during the night. I believe my report old that it may be still may be lis listed some where on this site. It was not an animal but a shape shifter or a nature spirit as I was told by others I later spoke to about it. Its eyes not only glowed red but sectrumed into other colors too. They projected this light not reflected it. One of the reasons it say entity and not animal when I speak about it. My article on it here is entitled Mr. Gonzwell what was it? It has been posted online science the 90s. If you cannot find it here Google the title or visit my old sites url to read of my full experiences with this. Quantum Physics is only now just begining to tap on the door that will explain encounters with these type of entities. Posey Gilbert www.templeoftheinfidel.com/MrGonzwell.html

I was on my porch two weeks ago looking out over the railing at the sky. My eyes caught something to my right coming at me. This thing was huge. It flew by me with a huge wing span at a altitude of the railing I was leaning on. It glided like . flew out to the garage at the end of the drive. Too dark to see much else. I could not make out the head on it. My husband says it may of been a huge owl. And I hope it was Auntym Chicago is just too close to me. . this is giving me the creeps . I won't want to go out any more. It made no noise and the wings did not move. Just stretched out to make it cover one side of the drive to the other side. Why doesn't someone get a photo of it or a video? That could be the same thing that folks in Chicago have been reporting. If the whatever it is really does fly it's not that far down to Bloomington. It could have zipped down there in no time. Keep a look out for it and maybe you can get a picture of it next time. Back when I first went online with AOL and posted my experiences with Gonzwell the first responders were mainly people from Chicago. Why? I have no idea but it seems that these entities and or phenomena are want to be near water. Brook Ave where I first started to encounter this entity was so called because of the brook that ran below it. These days the Missing 411 series of books highlights the nearest of water to this type of phenomena. Posey Gilbert.

Aaaaaack. (!). (?)
Read about gonzwell, and then went in to your âparanormal siteâ. Read for a bit..... oh man. Your dreams. Like mine.
Came back here, and experienced something weird in the meantime. Will try to explain in a bit.
Im actually laying down just now for a nap. I know that sounds weird in itself- will elaborate more later.

And he was known as the King of the dream demons because Mom told us it was very intense nightmares we were having. But what is it when you start encountering these things in the full bright of day? Thanks to some books Ralph bought back from the army I later learned he was what some Native American shamans called an Allie. Read some of the works of Carlos Castaneda if you still can find them. It was those books that help me keep my sanity.

Yes. I have read several books by Carlos....and that was back in the day when I had time to read an entire book in a day, or a night.
He (Carlos) is the reason why I think the drug mary jane is âbadâ . Not for everybody (of course). But he was the first person I ever heard talk/write publicly about âherâ, and how âshe chooses who she likesâ. I know a lot of people enjoy smoking her... and she is also medicine used correctly.
I digress.
Point being, MOST people will scoff at the things Carlos wrote about.... but it sounds like you agree with me that he âknewâ certain things (and had a way of communicating these things between people like me and you).

âWithin the cracks of the paranormalâ.
I read on. âThe return of the Otherâ. Thats when I decided to go ahead and nap. (A short one, obviously, because I am back). đ
You see, Iâve decided to not be so fearful anymore. My body requires rest more than most people, so it is detrimental to my health to fight sleep.
Carlos (and others such as yourself, Posey) no longer ARE what keeps me âsaneâ.
I am freely admitting these days that if not for Jesus Christ.... but I will try to keep that to my own personal thread. đ
Earlier, when posting on here, I had a âtime glitchâ. Mine can go either way. In other words, some people talk about âmissing timeâ. Sometimes, I can go âbackâ short distances in âtimeâ. Its like a dream state so it is very hard to explain...
For me, I âuse itâ as an attention-getter. It is a âglitchâ I feel that is telling me to âPAY ATTENTIONâ.
Sure, sometimes when I KNOW that I am going to be late somewhere, I will literally pray that I am not late. That is very cheap of me- and Iâd rather not do it (not saying that it always works).

Anyway, in âreturn of the otherâ, there was a lot for me.
And I know that when you mention âthe chosenâ you are not bragging or anything. It is just the way things are.
I hate the part of dreams about something making you fall asleep in dreams, or tricking you about âwaking upâ. Do you know of anyone who also talks about this problem?
Last but not least, the question I am about to ask you is very strange. I have read a lot of what you have offered on the internet, and have not seen this question addressed.
I can understand reluctance to talk about this, because âmoviesâ make it always about something sinister.
Have you ever had writing appear on your body? (Out of nowhere. Itâs not a skin indentation and it does fade away...)

Thank You so much for answering me!
I bet a lot of people look to your âblogsâ for answers!
I have shared so much of my âweirdnessâ on here that I have to keep some things to myself. For awhile. Like I had never told anyone that the âbeingsâ that took me underground (? seemed like underground on planet Earth; but how would I know?) NEVER SHOW themself/himself. âTheyâ are like a guide showing me things, and I âhearâ them, but whenever I turn in their direction they turn with me and stay just outside of my periphery. This started when I was a kid, and I just accepted it I guess (instead of really trying to see them, or ask them why they did this). They always stood on one side of me. A guy came on TEOR and mentioned this happened to him.. so I got emotional, I guess.
Yes, I have heard of people getting âsymbolsâ on their bodies. đ ****** Back to you and this thread; talking about the â mothmanâ. đ I love the way you explain your experiences! People on TEOR are familiar with how I speculate all kinds of âquestionsâ, and you always get right to the point! What Mr. Gonzwell has said. Why you think he could be a nature spirit. Why maybe he made a point to talk to you and Ralph.
Today, in your post, you mentioned the missing 411. I dont remember you talking about that before... but yeah; thats on my mind these days, too.
Like you, I have ânotedâ that many of these experiences (including mothman) are near water.... and almost want to say that people are lured into the water. Including the âdrunk drowningsâ of young men in places like Chicago. I know that to some people it looks like an âopportune serial killerâ.
As you know, I sometimes âhear thingsâ in water flowing. Even in my own bathroom!? đ˛đ. For me, it (again) is a way of knowing what âmoodâ I am in. What else can we do but really try to know ourselves??
More and more I realize that I am âblessedâ because not all my experiences are truly scary.
I am still fighting the notion that the wilderness can be a scary place. I think that if I were to get lost, that some âbeingâ would HELP me find my way to safety. After all, âsomeoneâ has taken me to weird other places and never left me âaloneâ there.... why wouldnt I start thinking that the lost thing couldnt happen to me?
To think of murderous humans hiding and stalking our wilderness areas.... ugh.
So also dont think that I have some desire to go camping. This is all just very, very sad; really.
Another personal question. Do you ever find yourself incredibly sad, but it seems to have nothing to do with yourself? Iâm not talking like âpossessionâ of your body briefly, or anything like that. I guess I mean, just this overriding feeling like something is so WRONG with this world- its not something you are personally comprehending in the moment because maybe your life is doing ok, maybe the âworld newsâ of the day isnt particularly affecting you, but theresâ just this..... weight. Hard to describe. My eyes just weep and weep but Iâm not doing that human thing called crying...

As for, the talk about a âshaman alliâ (did you say in your articleaboutgonzwell that Ralph was an âallieâ?) here is an interesting article that also mentions Casteneda. I didnt read all of this following url. I dont even recall reading about this in Castenedaâs first book (though I mentioned mary jane could be a âherâ that either liked someone or not). I just dont remember the terminology. Or even entertaining the idea of a âfamiliarâ. This article even goes into the idea of the Bible story where Jacob wrestles an angel, and I know that story well. Again, i think it is better if I express my âreligious viewsâ on my thread. đ There are similar stories in other faiths that talk about if you can get the âgeniâ to tell you its name, you have âpowerâ over it (it becomes your servant). Its all âtalkâ that nowadays kids just think that they are playing a video game like warcraft. Anyway, I had to look up âshaman allieâ. wanderling.tripod.com/ally.htmlđ. Enjoy the first few paragraphs.

As to âmothmanâ, or mr. Gonzwell, I guess some people could consider it as a âtulpaâ or even a wayward âgolemâ.
Which is actually kind of weird to think of the mothman being one of those. Because a couple of us here on TEOR have considered that the âmothmanâ is something lonely and left behind.

Because a couple of us here on TEOR have considered that the âmothmanâ is something lonely and left behind. ? Mr Gonzwell only spoke when in the human form and then it only complained about how man abused the land. I later learned from a friend that land was sacred land to the native American tribes of that area. Ralph was my irish twin and he and my older brother Chuck all slept in one bed back then. Which I think is how they came to know of Gonzwell. My brothers were avid readers and when he spoke about his crazy brother Butch to his army buddies one of them directed him to read those series of books. He was shocked as to how much Carlos's experiences matched up with thing he heard me talking about as a kid and that is why he introduced me to those books. Gonzwell in no way was a topaz but a real living entity a I am sure the so-called Mothman is. So for me none of those other explanations apply to it. Posey Gilbert. This may help you understand what it is I am trying to convey to you about Gonzwell. Please read but note there is much more to this experience than is written here. www.templeoftheinfidel.com/ButchsGhost.html

You were talking about inter-dimensional creatures. I believe I saw something that may fit that bill. In July 2011 my wife and I were spending a weekend at a friend's cabin, about 15 kilometers north of Manitou Falls, Ontario, Canada. We were both sitting on the porch looking into the woods. There were two spotlights shining off the porch, so the woods and the open area in front of the cabin were well-lit. I had spent a lot of time in this general area as a boy, and I was aware of the wildlife that lived there. It was close to midnight, as we sat and talked. It was a very mild still night, but for some reason the usual sounds of the woods were subdued. I wasn't alarmed, but it did seem strange. Sometimes when a Lynx hunts at night, things do quiet down; so I assumed that may be what was going on. I kept my eyes open just in case another predator was about. Eventually my wife wanted to go inside, so I obliged her and followed. I left the porch spotlights on. We went to bed around 1:30 AM and both of us quickly dozed off. The next thing I remember is my wife shaking me, telling me to wake up. She said she had heard a 'scream' coming from the from of the cabin. She wasn't used to being in the outdoors, so I told her it was either an Owl or Lynx. She insisted that no animal could have made that terrible noise; that it sounded like a woman was in distress. I looked at my phone. It was 2:33 AM. I got out of bed and walked into the front living room. I looked out the window, but didn't see anything. She was right behind me. Then the scream pierced the night again. This time I definitely heard it, and it wasn't like anything I've ever heard before. We stood by the cabin window and watched the woods. About 10 minutes later, we heard something on top of the cabin porch roof. It sounded like it was jumping up and down. It was so loud and forceful, I thought it may go through the porch roof. We continued to watch, when all of a sudden this huge winged creature jettisoned from above towards the woods. It was massive and dark in color. The wings were fully open and not moving; like it was gliding towards the trees. We caught a decent look of this creature as it sailed upwards into the dark sky, then descended back towards the edge of the woods. It performed this maneuver two more times, until it came streaming, and screaming, towards the open ground in front of the cabin; and then vanished! The wings had been tight against the body and it looked like a dark missile about to slam into the clearing, but disappeared before it hit the ground! We both jumped and let out a huge gasp. It was the most shocking experience I had ever had. My wife was wide-eyed and had to sit down. What in the world was that thing? I have tried to comprehend what we witnessed that night, and I still have no idea as to what it was. It had arms and legs like a human, but the body was scrawny and flexible. It's hard to describe. The head was barely visible. Overall, I'd guess it was 4 feet or so in height and the wide billowy wings spread out to at least 15 feet when fully extended. The scream was the most memorable part of this experience. It really did sound like a frightened woman, but the decibel level made our ears uncomfortable. A few days later, I asked my friend if he had ever seen anything unusual at the cabin. The most exciting event he could recall was a Badger getting into the kitchen one night. That was the extent of it. I decided not to go into details with him, but did say that my wife and I had an eerie night and that we didn't get much sleep because of strange noises coming from the woods. He just shrugged his shoulders and said nothing. Do you believe that this flying creature actually disappeared into another reality, as you mentioned in the show? I appreciate your thoughts. JK NOTE: I talked to 'JK' by telephone. He currently lives in North Dakota. His encounter left a lot of questions, of which he has few answers. He was positive that this was a corporeal creature and that both he and his wife were not hallucinating. Could it have been a winged humanoid or unknown flying cryptid. By the description, it seems very possible. Anyway, it'll be interesting to see if any further reports come from the general area. Lonwww.phantomsandmonsters.com/2018/07/screaming-winged-being-encountered-in.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed:+PhantomsAndMonstersAPersonalJourney+(Phantoms+and+Monsters)

mysteriousuniverse.org/2018/08/the-mothman-saga-predicting-disaster-at-point-pleasant/ The Mothman Saga: Predicting Disaster at Point Pleasantby Nick Redfern / mysteriousuniverse.org/author/nredfern/ August 17, 2018 Few people reading this will not have not heard of the Mothman of Point Pleasant, West Virginia. It terrorized the small city and the surrounding areas between November 1966 and December 1967. Its diabolical exploits were chronicled in the 2002 hit Hollywood movie starring Richard Gere: The Mothman Prophecies, named after the 1975 book of the same title written by Mothman authority John Keel. A devil-like, winged monster with red eyes, Mothman appeared quite literally out of nowhere and, some say, culminated in high tragedy and death. But how did the legend begin? To answer those questions we have to go back to the dark night of November 12, 1966, when five grave-diggers working in a cemetery in the nearby town of Clendenin were shocked to see what they described as a âbrown human shape with wingsâ rise out of the thick, surrounding trees and soar off into the distance. Three days later, the unearthly beast surfaced once again. It was at the highly appropriate time of the witching-hour when Roger and Linda Scarberry and Steve and Mary Mallette â two young, married couples from Point Pleasant â were passing the time away by cruising around town in the Scarberrysâ car. As they drove around the old factory, the four were puzzled to see in the shadows what looked like two red lights pointing in their direction. These were no normal lights, however. Rather, all four were shocked and horrified to discover that, in reality, the âlightsâ were the red eyes of a huge animal that, as Roger Scarberry would later recall, was ââŚshaped like a Mothman, but bigger, maybe six and a half or seven feet tall, with big wings folded against its back.â Not surprisingly, they fled the area at high speed. Unfortunately for the Scarberryâs and the Malletteâs, however, the beast seemingly decided to follow them: as they sped off for the safety of Point Pleasant, the winged monster took to the skies and shadowed their vehicleâs every movement until it reached the city limits. The four raced to the sheriffâs office and told their astounding story to Deputy Millard Halstead, who later stated that: âIâve known these kids all their lives. Theyâd never been in any trouble and they were really scared that night. I took them seriously.â The mystery of Mothman had well and truly begun. It still dominates Point Pleasant to this day. Further encounters with the bizarre beast were reported; however, they were overshadowed by a tragic event that occurred on December 15, 1967. It was on that day that Point Pleasantâs Silver Bridge (so named after its aluminum paint) that spanned the Ohio River and connected Point Pleasant to Gallipolis, Ohio, collapsed into the river. It tragically claimed forty-six lives. While a down-to-earth explanation most certainly circulated â namely, that a fatal flaw in a single eye-bar in a suspension chain was the chief culprit â many saw, and still continue to see to this very day, the cause as being directly linked with the ominous and brooding presence of the accursed Mothman. In speaking with a group of friends and colleagues recently on the matter of the collapse of the bridge, I was very surprised at just how few people were aware that John Keel himself had a terrible prophecy concerning Point Pleasant. We know this, as Keelâs own correspondence on the matter still exists. On November 3, 1967, Keel typed a letter to a woman named Mary Hyre; the pair were good friends. As The Demoniacal notes: âMary Hyre was the Point Pleasant, WV, correspondent for the Athens, OH, newspaper titled, The Messenger. Hyre documented strange occurrences happening in Point Pleasant in 1966-1967 and was well loved by locals due to her professional and open-minded take on the subjects. In one weekend alone, Hyre received 500 reports of UFO sightings from locals. Hyreâs fascination with flying saucers stemmed from her own sighting of a UFO which she claimed flew over her backyard.â As for that letter Keel sent to Hyre, it included the following words, which were typed around six weeks before the bridge collapse: âMary, I have good reasons for suspecting that [there] may soon be a disaster in the Pt. Pleasant area which will not seem to be related to the UFO mystery. A plant along the river may either blow up or burn down. Possibly the Navy installation in Pt. Pleasant will be the center of such a disaster. A lot of people may be hurt. If this should happen, notify me as soon as you can, and write the story normally. Donât even hint to anybody anything about this.â Of course, the Navy installation was not the âcenter of such a disaster.â And, a plant did not blow up or burn down. But, itâs eerie to note that Keel was clearly very unsettled by thoughts of a then-looming catastrophe in Point Pleasant. One and a half months after writing to Mary, there was a terrible catastrophe. mysteriousuniverse.org/2018/08/the-mothman-saga-predicting-disaster-at-point-pleasant/

mysteriousuniverse.org/2018/10/profiling-the-u-k-s-mothmen/ Profiling the U.K.âs âMothmenâNick Redfern / mysteriousuniverse.org/author/nredfern/October 26, 2018 Practically anyone and everyone fascinated by the world of the strange will have heard of the Mothman: that monstrous, winged entity said to haunt the town of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, and whose dark and disturbing exploits were most famously recounted in John Keelâs book, The Mothman Prophecies. How many people, however, are aware of the fact that the U.K. is home to a veritable menagerie of creatures that eerily parallel the United Statesâ most famous winged-thing? If you arenât aware of the U.K.âs equivalents, itâs time to be enlightened. The night of November 16, 1963 was a cold, clear and moonlit one. Seventeen-year-old John Flaxton, Mervyn Hutchinson, who was a year older, and two other friends, were strolling along an old country road that ran adjacent to the tree-shrouded Sandling Park, Hythe, in the green and picturesque county of Kent, England. The four were laughing and joking as they headed home after an evening spent at a local dance, when quite out of the blue something strange caught their attention: namely a bright, âstar-likeâ object flying low in the sky that seemed to head ominously in their direction. All four watched amazed as the object suddenly changed direction, and dropped to the ground behind a thick area of trees. It was then that matters took a very strange turn. Flaxton would later recall that a feeling of dread overcame the group, and that his body temperature noticeably dropped. No wonder, given the fact that as they scanned the area, the object quickly loomed back into view from behind the trees; it could now be seen as âgolden [and] oval-shaped,â and proceeded to follow the four from a distance of around 200 feet. Needless to say, the terrified teenagers broke into a run and fled the scene. To their relief, they finally seemed to lose the object and it vanished from view. But worse things were to come, however; much worse. Without warning, out of the trees emerged something else; something far more terrifying: namely a tall, dark, winged figure that the teenagers could only describe as looking like a human-sized bat. When it appeared to notice them and then headed in their direction in a determined fashion, Flaxton and his friends once again fled the scene. But high-strangeness at Sandling Park continued: over the course of the next few days, yet more strange lights were seen hovering over the trees; giant footprints â two feet long and an inch deep â were found; and even local journalists reported sightings of anomalous lights. Then, as quickly as the high-strangeness had begun, it was all over. The Bat-Man of Hythe vanished as mysteriously as he had appeared. It was in the summer of 1976 that the thick woods surrounding Mawnan Old Church, Cornwall, became a beacon of activity for a bizarre creature that became known as the Owlman. Most of the witnesses described the beast as being near-human in size, that it possessed a pair of large, feathery wings, glowing red eyes, claw-like appendages, and that it seemed to exude a dark and brooding air of menace. One of the witnesses to the creature, Jane Greenwood, wrote thus to the local newspaper, the Falmouth Packet during that same summer: âI am on holiday in Cornwall with my sister and our mother. I, too, have seen a big bird-thing. It was Sunday morning, and the place was in the trees near Mawnan Church, above the rocky beach. It was in the trees standing like a full-grown man, but the legs bent backwards like a birdâs. It saw us, and quickly jumped up and rose straight up through the trees. How could it rise up like that?â It was questions such as this, and witnesses such as Jane Greenwood, that led British-based monster hunter Jonathan Downes to spend much of the 1990s investigating the affair â the extraordinary details of which were published in his groundbreaking book, The Owlman and Others. Downes is convinced that the Owlman is a paranormal entity, rather than anything physical, such as a large type of owl. Moreover, Downes was plagued by bad-luck, misfortune, and âpsychic backlashâ every time he immersed himself in the puzzle. Today, he has completely washed his hands of the subject and vows never to return to those dark woods. Known as âthe backbone of England,â the Pennines is a mountain range that extends for almost 250 miles, and has for centuries been the setting for countless paranormal activity â including, in the late 1970s, sightings of nothing less than a giant, winged pterosaur. The strange story dates back to 1978, when British science-fiction author Ian Watsonâs novel, Miracle Visitors, was published. The book told the story of a teenage boy in the county of Yorkshire who possessed remarkable skills that allowed him to project from the depths of his mind â and into the physical world â images of âpseudo-real creatures;â or âmind-monsters,â as British UFO researcher Jenny Randles calls them. One of those mind-monsters that Watsonâs character creates is that of a prehistoric pterodactyl. Coincidentally, during the time that Ian Watson was still writing his novel, a young man named Paul Bennett, who lived in the county of Yorkshire, and who had had a lifetime of weird experiences that ranged from sightings of hairy creatures to angels and aliens, encountered a pterosaur of precisely the type that would surface only months later within the pages of Miracle Visitors. Itâs an affair that Jenny Randles has investigated extensively. On March 15, 1985 the Ealing Gazette newspaper published an eye-catching story titled Flight of the Phoenix. The subject: a large, winged beast that had supposedly been seen flying over the Brentford area of West London. As the newspaper stated: âIs it a birdâŚ? Or is it a planeâŚ? No, but it could be a Griffin! The bizarre giant bird has been seen several times â and some people believe it could be the legendary half-eagle, half-lion returning to the area where it has forged many historic links.â The Gazette cited the testimony of local man Kevin Chippendale, who said: âI saw it twice in the same place about 30 feet up by the Green Dragon flats. The shape of the bird is what attracted me in the first place. When I first saw it I thought it was an airplane. It had a very definite shape.â And, in the weeks that followed, other reports of giant, winged beasts soaring through the skies of Brentford surfaced; Griffin mania quickly gripped the area. Author Andrew Collins soon penned a small booklet on the affair that took a welcome, unbiased approach to the controversy, and revealed that while some of the stories had to be taken with a large pinch of salt, others remained intriguing and puzzling, and had more than an air of the paranormal about them. Indeed, much space was give to a discussion of the sighting of the aforementioned Kevin Chippendale, who told Collins that the creature he had seen was âthe size of a large dogâŚit had four legs and what appeared to be paws. There was no beakâŚits skin surface seemed smooth, not feathery, and it did look aerodynamic. The wings did not seem to be flapping like those of a normal bird in flight. They were much slower, almost as if they were moving in slow motion.â It was around 9.30 p.m. on Monday, March 8, 2004, and Steve Nicklin and a friend were âwalking across Northicote Farmâ when, as they approached an old Tudor-era farmhouse they were shocked to the core by the sight of a diabolical creature that was perched within the branches of a nearby, large pine tree. According to Nicklin, the creature was humanoid in shape, âgrayishâ in color, and around seven feet in height. But there was more, said Nicklin: âIt had two legs and two arms connected to membrane-type wings. Its clawed arms seemed connected to these wings; a bit like a pterosaur.â Nicklin continued: âIt moved its head and looked directly at us, since the moon was full and there were street lights not far away. It turned its head from us, took one giant leap and glided to the next tree. The tree bent under this creatureâs weight as it took the impact. It then turned its head to look at us once more. Its gaze felt that it could look into our very being. We both felt quite scared. We both fled quickly. We sat down and discussed what we had seen. It was a creature the like of which we had never seen before, nor want to ever see again.â Doubtless, all of those that have experienced the weird, winged things of Britain can relate to Steve Nicklinâs final words⌠mysteriousuniverse.org/2018/10/profiling-the-u-k-s-mothmen/

In the half-light we could see an amorphous shadow of what appeared to be an enormous black predatory creature crouching over the carcass of the roebuck. If you looked at it directly there was nothing to see, but out of the corners of our eyes it was clearly visible.

mysteriousuniverse.org/2018/11/the-mothman-of-point-pleasant-an-extraterrestrial/ The Mothman of Point Pleasant: An Extraterrestrial?by Nick Redfern / mysteriousuniverse.org/author/nredfern/November 15, 2018 Certainly, thatâs a very controversial question to ask. It was put to me last week, while doing radio. For many researchers, the Mothman is perceived as being a creature of purely cryptozoological proportions. Others take the view that the Mothman was (and, perhaps, still is) something of a definitively supernatural nature. But, to get back to the matter of that question put to me, letâs see what the evidence, testimony and data provides. But, first a bit of background on the weird winged-thing is required. There can be few people reading this who have not at least heard of the legendary Mothman of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, who so terrorized the town and the surrounding area between November 1966 and December 1967, and whose diabolical exploits were chronicled in the 2002 hit Hollywood movie starring Richard Gere: The Mothman Prophecies, so named after the book of the same title written by Mothman authority John Keel. A winged monster with red eyes, Mothman came out of nowhere. Some say its presence culminated in high tragedy and death. But what was the Mothman of Point Pleasant? And how did the legend begin? Rather, all four were shocked and horrified to discover that, in reality, the âlightsâ were the glowing, self-illuminating red eyes of a huge animal that, as Roger Scarberry would later recall, was ââŚshaped like a Mothman, but bigger, maybe six and a half or seven feet tall, with big wings folded against its back.â Not surprisingly, they fled the area at high speed. Unfortunately for the Scarberryâs and the Malletteâs, however, the beast seemingly decided to follow them: as they sped off for the safety of Point Pleasant, the winged monster took to the skies and shadowed their vehicleâs every movement until it reached the city limits. Water River Point Pleasant Bridge West Virginia The four raced to the sheriffâs office and told their astounding story to Deputy Millard Halstead, who later stated that: âIâve known these kids all their lives. Theyâd never been in any trouble and they were really scared that night. I took them seriously.â And even though a search of the area by Halstead did not result in an answer to the mystery, the Mothman would soon return. Again and again. And again. As far as the question concerning Mothman being an extraterrestrial is concerned, I would be inclined to completely dismiss this âE.T.â theory were it not for one thing. Namely, that there was indeed a great deal of UFO- and alleged alien-themed activity going on at that time â and in relatively close proximity to Point Pleasant. In other words, where UFOs were seen, so were strange lights in the sky. Moving on⌠Susan Sheppard is a friend of mine, who has expert knowledge of the strange tale of a man named Woodrow Derenberger and a creepy character named Indrid Cold. Iâll now turn you over to Susan: ââŚstrangeness that enveloped West Virginia and Ohio Valley did not begin with the Scarberry encounter along route 2 north of Point Pleasant. There had been another puzzling event that occurred in Parkersburg 12 days before. This happened on November 2, 1966 one mile south of the city limits of Parkersburg. It involved a sewing machine salesman whose life was about to be disrupted in such a way that he would never entirely recover. His name was Woodrow Derenberger, but everyone called him âWoody.â It was shortly after 6 p.m. in the evening, when Woody Derenberger was driving home from his job as a sewing machine salesman at J.C. Pennyâs in Marietta, Ohio to his farmhouse in Mineral Wells, West Virginia. The ride home was overcast and dreary. It was misting a light rain. âAs Derenberger came up on the Intersection of I-77 and Route 47, he thought that a tractor trailer truck was tailgating him without its lights on, which was unnerving, so he swerved to the side of the road and much to his surprise, the truck appeared to take flight and seemed to roll across his panel truck. To his astonishment, what Derenberger thought was a truck was a charcoal colored UFO without any lights on. It touched down and then hovered about 10 inches above the berm of the road. Much to Derenbergerâs surprise a hatch opened and a man stepped out looking like âany ordinary man you would see on the street â there was nothing unusual about his appearance. âExcept the man [Indrid Cold] was dressed in dark clothing and had a âbeaming smile.â As the man proceeded to walk toward Derenbergerâs panel truck the âcraftâ jetted up to about 40 feet in the air where it floated above the highway. What happened next was unsettling, because as the darkly-dressed man came up toward the vehicle Woody Derenberger heard the words, âDo not be afraid, I mean you no harm, I only want to ask you a few questions.â Derenberger did become afraid because as the man spoke to Woodrow his lips did not move. The man then moved to the opposite of the truck and told Derenberger to roll down his window so they could talk better, which he did. Next what formed in Derenbergerâs mind were the words, âNow you can speak, or you can think⌠it makes no difference, I can understand you either way,â ⌠this is what the dark man said. Later, when Derenberger was questioned on local live television he was scrutinized over what seemed a contradiction because if the dark man communicated through a type of mental telepathy why would Derenberger need to roll down his window to talk? Wouldnât it be easier just to talk mentally? âWoodrow Derenberger explained it was because Indrid Cold wanted to look directly at him as they spoke and he felt that, really, Cold wasnât so interested in what was said but more interested in keeping up a communication with him. To Derenberger, that seemed the entire point of it all. Derenberger also noted that when Cold stared into his eyes, it was as if he knew everything about Woodrow Derenberger, and also, if he could only let go of his fear and do the same, he felt he would also know and understand all about Cold. In any event, Cold spoke through the passenger side window the entire time. The physical description of Cold was commonplace. Derenberger described him as about 35 years of age, having a trim build, was about six feet tall, 185 pounds with dark eyes and dark hair slicked straight back. Cold wore a long dark coat and beneath the coat Woodrow Derenberger was able to glimpse the fabric of his âuniformâ that glistened beneath the coat. He also described Cold as having a âtanned complexion.â Throughout the conversation Cold kept a frozen smile and curiously hid his hands beneath his armpits most of the time. âCold did, however, point at the city lights above the distant hills of Parkersburg and asked Mr. Derenberger, âWhat do you call that over there?â Derenberger said, âWhy, thatâs Parkersburg and we call that a city.â Cold responded, âWhere I come from we call it a gathering.â Cold later added the curious statement that ââI come from a place less powerful than yours.â As the men talked cars passed under the craft which drifted above the road. The occupants were seemingly unaware of the spaceship being there. After all, there were no lights that could be seen. Cold then asked about Parkersburg, âDo people live there or do they work there?â Woody Derenberger answered, âWhy, yes, people live and work there.â Cold interjected âDo you work, Mr. Derenberger?â (Woodrow told Cold his name as the conversation began) Derenberger answered, âI am a salesman. Thatâs what I do. Do you have a job?â Cold answered, âYes. I am a searcher.â âAfter that the conversation became mundane. Cold seemed to notice Woodrow Derenberger was scared and commented on it. Mr. Derenberger claimed Cold asked him, âWhy are you so frightened? Do not be afraid. We mean you no harm. You will see that we eat and bleed the same as you do,â and then added an emotive note, âWe only wish you happinessâ which Cold said to the frightened man more than once. While Mr. Derenberger was being interviewed on live television on WTAP-TV, he attributed this puzzling statement to Indrid Cold, âAt the proper time, the authorities will be notified about our meeting and this will be confirmed.â The entire conversation took between five and ten minutes and then Indrid Cold looked inside Woodyâs car with his ever-present smile, and said, âMr. Derenberger, I thank you for talking to me. We will see you again.â There ends an extract from an excellent paper that Susan very generously prepared for me. Moving on, thereâs the matter of the Men in Black. In his classic book, The Mothman Prophecies, John Keel said of one such case: âOn a rainy night in April a man from Ohio had been driving along Route 2 near the Chief Cornstalk Hunting Grounds when a large black form rose from the woods and flew over his car. âIt was at least ten feet wide,â he claimed. âI stepped on the gas and it kept right up with me. We were doing over seventy. It scared the hell out of me. Then I saw it move ahead of me and turn toward the river.ââ Keel continued: âMonths later, late in October, he returned home from work and found a prowler in his apartment. âWhen I opened the door I saw this man standing in my living room,â he reported. âI think he was dressed all in black. I couldnât see his face, but he was about five feet nine. I started to fumble for the light switch when he took my picture. There was a big flash of light, so bright I couldnât see a thing. While I was rubbing my eyes the burglar darted past me and went out the open door. I guess I arrived just in time because nothing was missing.ââ Mary Hyre was a woman who played an integral role in the series of 1960s-era events that led John Keel to write The Mothman Prophecies. In January 1967, Hyre was visited by a creepy, bowl-haired MIB of around 5-feet in height and who had oddly hypnotic eyes. Throughout the encounter, the black-clad âmanâ kept staring at Hyreâs ballpoint pen. To the point where Hyre told him he could keep it. He took it, laughed loud in a strange fashion, and vanished as mysteriously as he first arrived. Hyreâs fascination with flying saucers stemmed from her own sighting of a UFO which she claimed flew over her backyard.â All of which brings us back to the matter of the Mothman. As we have seen, at the same time the Mothman was soaring around the skies of Point Pleasant, Mary Hyre had a close encounter with a weird Man in Black. The MIB are, of course, inextricably linked to the UFO phenomenon. Not only that, Hyre was the recipient of hundreds of UFO reports and someone who became one of Keelâs closest friends. Add to that the saga of Indrid Cold and what we have is an area that was dominated by not just the famous, flying monster, but by a number of UFO-related issues too. I consider it highly unlikely that the Cold controversy, the experiences of Mary Hyre, and the Mothman and MIB presences were completely unconnected. So, thatâs why I am at least open to the idea that the Mothman just may have been an extraterrestrial â and not a creature of Cryptozoology or even of something of paranormal origins. mysteriousuniverse.org/2018/11/the-mothman-of-point-pleasant-an-extraterrestrial/

www.phantomsandmonsters.com/2018/11/another-black-winged-humanoid-observed.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed:+PhantomsAndMonstersAPersonalJourney+(Phantoms+and+Monsters) Friday, November 23, 2018 Another 'Black Winged Humanoid' Observed Near Rockford, Illinois Posted by Lon Strickler / plus.google.com/+LonStrickler I recently received the following account: Hello, I recently learned of the Chicago humanoid sightings and then about the black winged humanoid sighting near Rockford, Illinois. This was shocking to me because I live in Winnebago County in a city (Loves Park) that borders Rockford and is 60 miles from Chicago and I have seen a similar black winged being. I was standing on the deck in my backyard late one summer evening, it was August of 2004, I was stargazing as I often do, when I was startled by the sudden furious barking of a neighbors dogs. As I turned and looked towards the direction of the barking it was at that moment I saw an all black 7ft in length man with huge bat-like wings flying across the park that borders along my backyard. It then descended to approximately 5 to 6 ft above ground. It pulled or folded its wings in slightly and then glided along the paved path that runs through the park. It continued gliding through an easement between two houses disappearing from my sight. Stunned by what I had just seen I quickly ran in through the backdoor and out the front, stepped out onto the front porch and that is when I heard a loud screeching sound. The sound was so loud and it was coming from the thick tree line across the street from the park on yet another easement. I quickly stepped back into the house, shut and locked the door and woke my sleeping husband. I asked him to come listen to what I was hearing, I told him what had happened and what I saw on our way towards the living room window as the tree line could be seen from there. The screeching continued sporadically for approximately 5 minutes. Then it went silent. The afternoon of the following day, after the incident as I was walking to the mailbox, the elderly neighbor who resided in the house that the tree lined easement borders the backyard yelled across the street asking me if I had a minute to take a look at something strange in his backyard. What the neighbor showed me was his chain link fence posts were bent down at a 45 degree angle. It was only and all the ones closest to the tree line. He was perplexed as to what could have possibly caused this to happen. I attempted to explain to him what it was I saw and heard the night before. Just as I went into detail that I saw something very large and strange flying, I got a raised eyebrow with the look of are you crazy, and was told that what I saw was a Heron and that no bird could have bent those posts like that. So I quickly dropped the subject, as I walked back home another neighbor 2 houses away yelled, 'hey, did you hear all that loud weird noise last night? It woke me up. I thought the rainforest or something moved in over night.' To which I replied with 'yes I heard and I have not a clue as to what it was.' I researched for a few months after my encounter and found out quite a bit about Mothman sightings. However nothing out there matched what I saw that night. So as time went by it had become all but a faded memory over the years until now. E.J. NOTE: This is the 3rd account that we have received from Winnebago County, Illinois near Rockford. The incidents occurred between 2004-2010...but also closely parallel the more recent sightings in the Chicago metro area and southern Wisconsin. Lon

So, thatâs why I am at least open to the idea that the Mothman just may have been an extraterrestrial â and not a creature of Cryptozoology or even of something of paranormal origins. mysteriousuniverse.org/2018/11/the-mothman-of-point-pleasant-an-extraterrestrial/ Adding to the âweirdnessâ, Mary Hyre had a mysterious death within 2 years of the main events.

www.phantomsandmonsters.com/Monday, January 21, 2019 Winged Humanoid Encountered in Gary, IndianaPosted by Lon Strickler / plus.google.com/+LonStricklerOver the past few days, I've received a couple of reports regarding winged humanoids / Mothman: Hi. My husband and I live in Gary, Indiana. He came home freaking out tonight (Saturday, January 19th) saying he saw something that had to of been 4-5 feet tall with large wings that were similar to bat wings. He said it was a grayish color and it flew in front of his truck just inches of it getting hit, He said it flew up in the trees and disappeared. It was on Chase St. I don't know if it's the same thing people have been reporting in he area, but it can't be the Mothman...can it? I'm not sure but whatever it is, he's scared him to death. ES NOTE: the email was dated Saturday, January 19th at 11:11PM local time. I have attempted to talk to the witness, but he is far too shaken and fearful this being will re-engage with him. Hopefully, the witness will eventually open up. Lon ----- I figured Iâd tell you about my experiences with the Mothman. When I was about two years old, I lived just outside of Pittsburgh in Leechburg, Pa. Within a short period of time I saw the red-eyed, winged dark creature, twice. First, he was looking at me from the top corner of my bedroom. Second time, he was looking from the foot of my bed, but not looking at me, he was staring at my window. My parents had just bought a new bathtub, and leaned it against the house right by my window. Later that week a massive tornado ran its course through the area I lived. It ripped the auditorium ceiling of the high school completely off. Just a short walk from my home. And the bathtub was thrown far from our home. When I was about 34, or so, a friend of mine wanted to show me the cemetery where âNight of the Living Deadâ was filmed, near Blairsville, Pa. As we walked past the gates around dusk, I saw what I thought was an angel statue with ruby eyes. As I walked closer the eyes glowed, not glimmered. So I continued to walk closer, wondering if it was the same thing I saw as a child. About 15 feet away now, I turned and asked my friend if he could see it, but when I looked back, it was a ten-foot tall obelisk, like the Washington monument. The head, eyes, body, and wings were gone, just that obelisk with four flat sides and a pyramid meeting the sides on top. Not long after that there were three tornadoes, massive flooding, and a murder in the little town of Blairsville. Iâm no medium, but I can smell, feel, and occasionally hear the dead. Perhaps my sensitivities is the reason I was able to see him, or he presented himself to me. I believe he should not be feared, but be fearful of what his warnings are of. And I also must say, when the movie (Mothman Prophecies) about him came out, I knew that was what I had seen as a toddler, not knowing he would come to me again. MK www.phantomsandmonsters.com/

mysteriousuniverse.org/2019/01/mysterious-native-curses-and-the-mothman/ Mysterious Native Curses and the Mothmanby Brent Swancer / mysteriousuniverse.org/author/brentswancer/January 21, 2019 There are plenty of places in this world that have strange and anomalous histories, and sometimes there are bits and pieces that are not connected until years later. One very interesting tale is that of a supposed curse that was laid down by a dying Indian chief in Americaâs colonial years, and which may very well tie to the bizarre phenomenon of the nefarious Mothman of West Virginia. It is a story of adventure, colorful history, and the paranormal. In the late 1700s, the area of present day Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky was being invaded in a sense. White settlers were inexorably moving West, pouring through the regionâs Kanawha and Ohio River valleys, much to the alarm of the great Shawnee, Delaware, Wyandot, Mingo, Miami, Ottawa and Illinois nations of Natives who had called this place home since time unremembered. These foreigners posed an ominous threat the likes of which they had never seen before, threatening to disrupt their way of life, raze their land, and even possibly erase them from existence. In order to combat the ominous threat posed by the white man, these tribes put aside any differences they had and formed an alliance in order to come together in solidarity to face perhaps the gravest danger in their history. In 1774 there was a fierce battle between these forces, when around 1,200 proud Native warriors of the alliance clashed with colonial forces at the Ohio River, at the site of what is now Point Pleasant, West Virginia. The battle was a whirlwind of death and blood, devolving into more of a massacre when it became obvious that the Native warriors were hopelessly outmatched by the technology of the colonial forces, their arrows and axes losing out to the gunpowder and muskets of the enemy, and although they fought bravely and valiantly when the smoke cleared over 300 of these warriors lie dead. In the wake of the Native alliance retreat after what is now called âThe Battle of Point Pleasant,â an imposing fort called Fort Randolph was built where the Kanawha and Ohio Rivers merged, ever vigilant for the appearance of another Native army looming on the horizon. Fort Randolph One of the greatest leaders of this confederacy was the chief of the mighty Shawnee nation, called Chief Keigh-tugh-gua, meaning âcornstalk,â who realized that fighting the colonial settlers head-on was futile and suicidal. He gradually reached out to the whites, and formed a tentative peace with them even as the other tribes regrouped and sharpened their weapons to go to all out war. Chief Cornstalk knew that this was a death wish, that it would mean the slaughter of thousands, and so he reached out to the colonial forces in order to try and work out a treaty before any more blood could be spilled on their sacred lands, choosing to keep the Shawnee nation a neutral force, although many of his tribe disagreed with this, with militant factions blooming up and threatening to tear their solidarity apart. These flames of war were actively stoked by the British, who were well into the Revolutionary War at this point, but Cornstalk felt he could make a difference, and he did. Indeed, Cornstalkâs treaties that he managed to arrange at Fort Pitt in 1775 and 1776, were the first Indian treaties ever recognized and negotiated with the United States, and he was well-known for his powerful presence and negotiation and oratory skills. He meant to do this again in 1777, as a storm brewed on the horizon in the form of the angry Native nations and the militant factions of his own tribe planning an all out assault on the fort, something the British couldnât have been happier about. Sadly, things would not go as planned for Chief Cornstalk. In November of 1777, as Native warriors began amassing their forces, Cornstalk and the Chief of the Delaware tribe, Red Hawk, made their way to Fort Randolph seeking to be advocates of peace. They had both lost their taste for war, and this was a last ditch effort to staunch the coming blood flow before it even began. However, rather than be met with open arms they were taken prisoner by the fortâs commander Captain Arbuckle. Things went from bad to worse when Cornstalkâs son, Ellinipisco, approached the fort a few days later and was also taken hostage, and from worse to catastrophic when two soldiers were attacked and one killed by Natives after trespassing on Indian hunting lands nearby. Although the prisoners had been treated fairly well up to that point, the soldiers at the fort screamed for revenge, and they were all summarily executed by the bloodthirsty, vengeful troops. The deaths struck a devastating blow to any hope of peace between the colonials and the Natives. Although the ones responsible for killing Cornstalk and his companions in cold blood were brought to trial they were acquitted, and relations with the Natives devolved to a new low. It is a very bloody and turbulent part of U.S. history as it is, but what is especially interesting is the dark curse that Chief Cornstalk is said to have cast upon the land with his dying breaths. It is said that as he lay on the floor of his cell in a pool of blood after having been shot 8 times, he uttered the words: I was the border manâs friend. Many times I have saved him and his people from harm. I never warred with you, but only to protect our wigwams and lands. I refused to join your paleface enemies with the red coats. I came to the fort as your friend and you murdered me. You have murdered by my side, my young sonâŚ. For this, may the curse of the Great Spirit rest upon this land. May it be blighted by nature. May it even be blighted in its hopes. May the strength of its peoples be paralyzed by the stain of our blood. Statue of Cheif Cornstalk Not long after this, in 1794, the quaint town of Point Pleasant would be founded right there where Cornstalk had died and so many of his people had been ruthlessly slaughtered. In 1840, Chief Cornstalkâs remains were disinterred and relocated to the Mason County Court House, and they were moved yet again in the 1950s and reburied at Tu-Endie-Wei Park, with a 12-foot tall monument in his honor erected to overlook his grave. It would seem from the tragic events that would plague Point Pleasant that perhaps Chief Cornstalk did not approve of any of this, and his supposed âcurseâ is written all over the history of the town and the surrounding area. The series of tragic events over the years reads like a horror story. In the 1880s a fire destroyed a large chunk of Point Pleasant. 1907 there was a horrific mining disaster at nearby Monongah, West Virginia, an underground explosion that would collapse the tunnels and claim the lives of over 360 miners. Spookily, the erection of a monument to Chief Cornstalk in 1909 was beset with some acts of God when a crane working on the 86-foot-tall statue was struck by lightning, delaying its construction and dedication ceremony, and the statue itself would be also be struck by lightning in 1921 on an otherwise clear evening, damaging it. On April 21,1930, the Ohio State Penitentiary was ravaged by a fire that would burn prisoners alive in their cells and kill 320 people. In 1913 and 1937 the Ohio River experienced catastrophic floods that nearly erased Point Pleasant from the map. 1944 saw 150 people killed in a series of tornadoes that tore through the region, and in 1953 there was a horrific barge explosion that killed 6 men. Of course there is the notorious Silver Bridge collapse in December of 1967, which sent 46 people to the bottom of the Ohio River and which was surrounded by all manner of paranormal phenomena. The following year, in 1968, there was a terrible plane crash, when a Piedmont Airlines Flight 230 fell from the sky at Kanawha Airport along with 35 doomed souls. Another tragic plane crash occurred on November 14, 1970, when a Southern Airways DC-10 smashed right into a mountainside near Huntington, West Virginia, to kill 75 people. Silver Bridge, Point Pleasant This tide of death and carnage would continue well into the 70s and beyond. In March of 1976 the Mason County Jail at Point Pleasant was targeted by a terrorist attack when the husband of one of the inmates, a Harriet Sisk, blew himself, his wife, and three police officers to smithereens with a suitcase packed with explosives. In 1978 a train carrying toxic chemicals spectacularly derailed at Point Pleasant, contaminating the water supply. That very same year 51 construction workers were killed at the nearby town of St. Maryâs when their scaffolding collapsed as they were working on a cooling tower at the Willow Island power plant. Eerily, the supposed âcurseâ died down after this, fitting into the common notion that Chief Cornstalkâs curse was meant to last just 200 years. Many of you might have already made the connection between this supposed curse and the bizarre entity known as the Mothman, but for those who havenât it is very famous lore that the days leading up to the fatal 1967 collapse of the Silver Bridge spanning the Ohio River were haunted by all manner of strangeness, from UFOs, to Men in Black, to the insidious entity known as Indrid Cold, to numerous sightings of a winged entity with glowing eyes known as the Mothman. This strange entity is widely believed to have had some connection to the disaster, whether just an observer, a portent of what was to come, or even the very one that caused it, and with the Cornstalk legend it takes on a new light, as there are some who feel that it could be part of the curse or even the âGreat Spiritâ the chief spoke of. The connection between an old Indian curse and Mothman might seem tenuous, but it invites speculation on whether the Mothman phenomenon and the disaster it hovers around could have their basis further back in history than many might think. There is also the matter of whether this âcurseâ was ever real at all, and if it was just how much it ties into all of the tragedy that befell this normally peaceful place, and as the paranormal researcher John Keel once said, âWhen it comes to the paranormal world, nothing is what it seems to be.â Was this all coincidence or just bad luck? Was there ever any connection to the events of the Mothman phenomena of Point Pleasant and the curse of Chief Cornstalk? There is no way to really know for sure, but one thing we do know is that West Virginia is orbited by its fair share of strangeness, and a bloody history that may or may not be influenced by an insidious curse. mysteriousuniverse.org/2019/01/mysterious-native-curses-and-the-mothman/

The events unfolded as such. I was driving down Rd 1 in between 400 and 500 S. Now this location is in Randolph County just ten to fifteen minutes kind of east from Prairie Creek Reservoir. This is why the article caught my husband's attention from the beginning. Anyway, as I was driving I saw what appeared to be a human crouched down in the road. As I got closer and the more I slowed down it did not move, so I was at a complete stop. This thing slowly turned its head to look my way and it had greenish yellowish-like eyes, like the color of cat eyes. It stared for maybe three seconds and then proceeded to slowly get up from its position, like a human would stand up because it had legs. It turned towards my car. It stepped on my car and used it to take off. Then it lifted off like a glider towards the sky. I turned my head just in time to see it tuck its legs into its body, so it did appear as a bird in flight...kind of. Its wingspan was wider than anything I've ever seen on an animal in my life. I told my husband what had happened and he told me it had to have been a bird...until he saw this article. I've never said anything to anyone else in fear that I would be made out to be an idiot. I also would still like to maintain my privacy as I do not want any public attention from this as I have a young daughter and do not want her to be bought into it either. I hope you'll maintain my privacy as well and keep my involvement just a witness as you did the other witness in your article. mysteriousuniverse.org/2019/02/mysterious-balls-of-light-reported-near-recent-indiana-mothman-sightings/ Mysterious Balls of Light Reported Near Recent Indiana Mothman Sightingsby Sequoyah Kennedy / mysteriousuniverse.org/author/skennedy/February 16, 2019 Earlier this month, I wrote about an Indiana manâs very mothman Christmas, in which he saw a large flying humanoid near the Prairie Creek reservoir. Like many other big-name paranormal entitiesâbigfoot, fairies, the greysâwhere thereâs mothman, thereâs a heavy dose of high strangeness with him. After the recent mothman reports began circulating, other witnesses have come forward with their experiences in the Great Lakes region, including a man who has allegedly observed glowing orbs of light near the Prairie Creek reservoir for decades. The witness contacted the Singluar Fortean Society to relate his experience. According to the 51-year-old man, his first experience with the mysterious orbs was in 1981 when he was 12: âIt was a clear summer night sky. I saw an orange/amber colored ball of light about 20 feet above the trees. It started towards me slowly so I ran in and got my mom, when we came back out it was over our trees. The actual size is hard to say but Iâd guess three feet across. It was totally silent, and it moved off to the west out of sight behind the trees.â Since the, the witness says, he has observed this phenomenon approximately 12 times since 1981. The balls of light vary in colors, sometimes appearing as orange and sometimes as white. They also appear to have an intelligence behind them, the man says, as they change color, move around, and seem to react to observers. Disco orb Or maybe itâs Indianaâs newest disco sensation lighting up the dance floor: Mothman and the Orbs. An alleged intelligence becomes sort of a sticky wicket, as evidenced by the manâs most recent experience with the orbs in the summer of 2016: âI was driving east coming home at night, when I spotted an orb that was orange, and it seemed like a second one right next to it was changing back and forth from red to orange and dimming to dark and back. So I got to my road turning south and I came to a stop to watch. The car window was down, so I fumbled with my phone to hit recordâŚsnap, gone.â Itâs the old joke: what if bigfoot is just blurry? The problem is that a lot of these experiences do suggest an intelligence behind them, and an intelligenceâespecially an intelligence with a trickster inclinationâwould certainly make it as difficult as possible to take a picture of it. But it also becomes an easy out when youâre just making stuff up. Which, again, fits the M.O. of a trickster intelligence. As I said, a sticky wicket. If we are to believeâor at least entertainâthis witness however, itâs another piece of a large and unbelievably complex phenomenon. According to the Singular Fortean Society, these encounters occurred near a one-acre-large, 2,000-year-old Native American burial ground, on a direct line with Prairie Creek reservoir and Mounds State Park to the west, another ancient ceremonial site with legends of trickster spirits called Pukwudgies. paranormalinvestigating.com/the-pukwudgies-of-mounds-state-park-anderson-indiana/Orb of light Most times someone calls anything an Indian burial ground, I canât roll my eyes hard enough. Nine times out of ten, itâs a pile of rocks left by a 19th century farmer who found he had more than he needed for his stone wall. But there are actual Native American burial and ceremonial grounds. Mounds state park is one of them. However, lines are easy to draw. These phenomena seem to be necessarily proof proofed. Yet some of the strangeness lies in how similarly the phenomena tend to defy documentation. That similar tendency can be seen as evidence for its existence, or evidence or its nonexistence. Which could be seen as by design. Or it could be seen as an interesting psychological phenomenon. It spirals infinitely. Which could be seen asâŚ.nope, that way lies madness. Maybe the best we can hope for is a continued collection of these stories, both genuine and otherwise, and a more complete (but never finished) picture of our strange world. mysteriousuniverse.org/2019/02/mysterious-balls-of-light-reported-near-recent-indiana-mothman-sightings/
