Siva Kumar Oct 15, 2016 Ancient coin shows a face looking like the idea of an 'alien'. (Photo : mysteriousearth.net) If you see freaky coins with figures of huge, bald heads and bulbous eyes, you will begin to wonder if humans were ever ruled by extra-terrestrials. Another coin depicts a spaceship coming down on dry land. All of them were found in Egypt. One of them was discovered during a house renovation. Did the aliens once share the Earth with us? That is what Conspiracy website mysteriousearth.net reveals. One coin has a Latin engraving, "OPPORTUNUS Adest" on one of its faces. It means: "It's here in due time". Says the website: "A group of people who worked on the renovation of a house in southern Egypt found a number of very rare coins. They are unique in its kind that curiously have no images of a strange human figure. So far no one could explain the origin of these parts." In March 2016, ufologists also "discovered" a huge sphinx on Mars. It made them speculate that there once existed a long-lost alien civilisation on the Red Planet. Experts, however, have not validated that such coins are real. Are they "fake," then? Just somebody's joke? The comments are flying thick, with supporters as well as opponents. One person called it "bogus", while another one called it "garbage journalism": "The first one is obviously a "Hobo Nickel" - i.e. a coin that has been modified in modern times by carving - it's a well-known, goofy form of street art - just google it! These things are bloomin' everywhere," he wrote. Does this also mean that aliens will come back to our planet someday - if they aren't here with us now? Perhaps. www.hngn.com/articles/211845/20161015/ufo-sighting-images-aliens-weird-coins-prove-visited-earth.htm

Wow! This being looks a lot like the ones that I saw when I was 8... this is the closest portrayal of a gray I have seen yet that compares to what I remember!

mysteriousuniverse.org/2016/10/egyptian-coin-with-alien-head-may-not-be-egyptian-or-alien/ Egyptian Coin With Alien Head May Not Be Egyptian or Alien October 19, 2016 by Paul Seaburn / mysteriousuniverse.org/author/paulseaburn/A number of websites are touting the discovery of what appear to be one or more ancient Egyptian coins with what looks like the head of an extraterrestrial on one side. Is this proof – as some are screaming – that aliens visited ancient Egypt or do these coins have a less mysterious but still interesting origin? Many of the sites are pointing to Mysterious Earth as the source of the current story. It gives this extremely vague and somewhat confusing explanation for the source of the coins. A group of people who worked on the renovation of a house in southern Egypt found a number of very rare coins. They are unique in its kind that curiously have no images of a strange human figure. So far no one could explain the origin of these parts. side-by-side What? This sounds like a bad Google translation of a bad report on some strange coins. Or maybe just one coin. The site only shows one image. The ‘head’ side has a head and shoulders that clearly looks like a typical ET. The tails side … well, there’s no picture of the flip side. How did ancient Egyptians decide which team receives the kickoff? The only reference to the other side is a mention that it contained the words “OPPORTUNUS Adest” (their capitalization) which the site claims it translated to “It’s here in due time.” It? What? Why did these aliens speak to ancient Egyptians in Latin? Why did the site translate the hidden side but not the words surrounding the image of the alien, which appear to be Greek? While the original site had no further information or pictures, other sites seemed to find many more photos of coins, including a number of them carved with OPPORTUNUS ADEST” around the edge and the image of various objects resembling spacecrafts in the middle. A number is on the lower edge that looks like ‘I656’ which is a mash-up of Roman and Arabic numerals. Many comments on the sites refer to these coins as examples of “hobo nickels” – something I had never heard of before. The expression refers to an American practice dating back to the mid-1700s of altering the images on what were then softer metal coins. The most popular image changed by amateur engravers was the seated Liberty, which they altered to make the poor woman look like she was sitting on a toilet or “chamber pot” – hence the nickname “potty coin.” The copper-nickel Buffalo nickel, first coined in 1913, became a popular coin to alter among amateur engravers with a lot of time on their hands – namely, hobos traveling the country by hiding on trains. Hobo nickels became popular enough to be considered an art form and a collectible, with the hobby continuing into the 1980s with designs of virtually everything that could fit on a nickel and be carved out of the images, including … aliens and spaceships. Which brings us back to the coins with alien heads. The vague explanation coupled with the past popularity of carving new images on old coins should make this mystery easy to solve. Or maybe that’s what ‘they’ want us to believe. mysteriousuniverse.org/2016/10/egyptian-coin-with-alien-head-may-not-be-egyptian-or-alien/

That's definitely an altered coin. See how the color of the neck and head don't match the color of the rest of the body? That's because the neck and head has been polished more by whoever did the carving. I've been collecting coins my whole life and I see stuff like this turn up every now and then, like the hobo nickels the previous article mentioned. Some of the carvings they do on them are amazing! I posted some photos of some on here a long time ago. I think it was in the stamps and coins thread, or whatever it was I called it.

www.coasttocoastam.com/article/man-claims-ufo-sighting-featured-on-new-canadian-coin-was-an-accidental-hoax/Man Claims UFO Sighting Featured on New Canadian Coin Was an Accidental HoaxNovember 09, 2023 By Tim Binnall / www.coasttocoastam.com/pages/tim-binnall/Upon hearing that the Royal Canadian Mint has released a new coin celebrating a 1970 UFO sighting in British Columbia, a man who lived in the area at the time has come forward with what he claims is the true story surrounding the 'otherworldly' event. The classic case, known as the 'Duncan Incident,' occurred on New Year's Day 1970 when a nurse working at the Cowichan District Hospital spotted a glowing flying saucer hovering outside a patient's window. The astounded witness reported seeing a pair of figures looking at her from the silent object that eventually slowly floated away from the scene.
Given the fantastic nature of the sighting, it's not altogether surprising that Royal Canadian Mint chose to feature it in the latest installment of their 'Unexplained Phenomena' series, which has previously recognized such iconic cases as Shag Harbour and the Falcon Lake Incident. However, when word of the newly released piece reached Duncan resident Dan Hughes last week, he reportedly felt compelled to finally set the story straight after all these years and has revealed that the UFO at the center of the event was, in fact, a "party trick" orchestrated by his friends, Les and Renee Palmer, during their New Year's festivities.
The proverbial whistleblower explained that the 'flying saucer' was crafted out of a wooden cross with candles on each end and a dry-cleaning bag draped over it. The Palmers, he said, filled the contraption with hot air using a hair dryer and then sent it aloft into the night sky, where "it just sailed higher and higher" until ultimately vanishing from view. Lending credence to the revelatory account, the couple just so happened to live next door to the Cowichan District Hospital at the time, which would explain how it wound up being seen by the astounded nurse as it drifted past the building. As for the 'beings' seen by the witness, he theorized that the 'alien visitors' were likely just artwork on the dry-cleaning bag.
Hughes insists that "there was no malice whatsoever" behind the incident, rather "it was a playful party trick that got out of hand and created a kind of hysteria." He went on to indicate that the couple as well as the nurse and an additional witness to the 'UFO' have all since passed away, which left him feeling responsible to tell the tale when he learned that the event was being commemorated by way of the new coin. As for the piece which now seemingly celebrates his friends' party trick that took on a life of its own, Hughes says that he has already ordered one for himself, since "they might stop making them when they hear the story now."www.coasttocoastam.com/article/man-claims-ufo-sighting-featured-on-new-canadian-coin-was-an-accidental-hoax/Experience the thrill of a UFO sighting on Canada’s West Coast. Before dawn on the morning of January 1, 1970, a nurse at a hospital in Duncan, B.C., opened the curtain in a patient’s room. What she saw next is depicted on this coin’s colour-over-engraved reverse, where the UFO glows brighter when viewed under a black light (included).
The nurse described seeing a large saucer-shaped craft with a glass-like dome top. Inside the object, which was estimated to be 50 feet (15 metres) in diameter and illuminated from the bottom, two male-like figures clad in dark cloth appeared to be standing in front of a large panel. Absorbed by the sight, the nurse studied both the craft and its occupants, and soon noticed one of the figures slowly turning to face in her direction. The other figure then reached down to grab hold of a lever, and the tilted craft began to spin in a counter-clockwise direction. She called over another nurse to witness the hovering object just as it silently, and swiftly, moved away, though its lights were still visible to two more witnesses who joined them at the window. www.mint.ca/en-us/shopping/archives/2023/1-oz-pure-silver-glow-in-the-dark-coin-canada-s-unexplained-phenomena-the-duncan-incident-
