It didn't look like any dam to me. It looked like it moved from right to left. The story said there was a MUFON STAR team investigator there to cover up the information so we will probably never know what it was.

The ends don't match at all. One end in one photo appeared different.. One end is square black like maybe something wiith a power source.

Looks clearly like a mirage of a large building on the horizon. There is a large blimp hangar in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. www.airphotona.com/image.asp?imageid=16171It looks like the same one. An IFO. See my series here on mirages...under 'IFO's: Identified Flying Objects'. This is a perfect example of mirages and it's optical distortions. You can clearly see the trees & the huge old hangar in the distance are separated from the horizon. theedgeofreality.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ifos&action=display&thread=1065I suspect the witness already knew what the object was perhaps unless they were a new visitor to that area... from past similar excursions......probably a hot humid day when the photo was taken (July 1). That would do it. The witness submitted the unusual photo to see what Mufon would do.... They amusingly did what Mufon seems lately to be always doing....make it another empty inept secret. No need, we figured it out anyway. Next? Steve

Good detective work! Other objects that look somewhat like that (another false report somewhere) is cruise ships. They do not look like boats at all being somewhat squared off at both ends and unbelievably tall and massive.

Steve .. thank you.. Why would the people of Carolina not recognize it? I mean they should be familiar with this type of ship.. I know I have never seen one of these before.. I did not think it was a dam..I guess it was just the one witness who did not know what it was..

The turkish ufo that went viral recently looks like the front of a cruise ship imo. It had me stumped until I read a post and saw pics for comparison on another forum and then it was obvious although many still think its an et craft.

Good job, Steve. That was good investigating. I wonder if that STAR Team investigator ever figured it out?
