If I could ever ask aliens some questions.... some would be these.
Steve
1. Do you need food or nutrients to live? 2. Do you reproduce? 3. Are you physical beings? Biological beings? A form what we call 'bio-machine'? Artificial Intelligence? 4. Do you have difficulty existing in our planetary environment? Is our planetary environment easy or difficult to live in? Do we possess in us or our planet have certain hazards biologically you must protect yourselves from? Are we in any danger being in contact with you? Is this question inconsequential? 5. Tell us something about yourselves that would surprise us? 6. Do you use what we call mental telepathy to communicate with us? 7. If so, how is it we can communicate with you? Is it a innate ability we already have, or is this ability made possible by you by an artificial means? Through a technology of yours? 8. Do you age? 9. Do you have a concept of the passage of time? What is time to you? 10. Where are you from? Another physical place? Here? Another planet? 11. Do you have names for yourselves? What are your names? 12. What do you call yourselves? (example - star people?) 13. Do you know what the Internet is? Can you use the internet to monitor and communicate with us or each other? 14. Have any Earth governments made any contact with you? Do you have any secret agreements with these governments? 15. What is your intent in any contact with us? 16. Do you place devices or implants in our bodies? What are the purpose of these implants. 17. Are you responsible for cattle mutilations? If so, why? 18. You seem to often monitor our uses of nuclear energy on our planet? Why? 19. Is there a reason why some human beings are abducted or contacted by you? Do you choose certain people? Why? 20. Are you living, interacting, influencing our human society? 21. Can we be friends ever in a direct and open way? Can we have a relationship that in a positive way benefits both of us? 22. Can we travel to the stars someday like you? How do you manage to travel across the very great distances between stars and their planets? 23. Do you have any questions we can answer for you? 24. Does life as you understand it exist on many different levels of existence? 25. What can you share with us that would give us a greater sense of connectivity with you and other intelligent life in the universe? 26. Is there a God? 27. What makes you happy? Sad? Do you understand such concepts? 28. What is your society like? Do you have families? 29. Are there other societies visiting our planet besides yours? 30. Are these societies friendly with you? 31. Do our oceans on our planet serve you any purpose? 32. Does our planet serve you any purpose? 33. Does our fear of you sometimes harm or hinder our means of forming a meaningful friendship? (rhetorical question?)

And I would add a few of my own.
34. How long have you been coming here?
35. Have you intervened in the history of mankind - taught us city building or gave us technologies?
36. Have you intervened in our genetic make-up?
38. Do you intend a public disclosure of your presence at some point?
39. do you perceive us as fellow sentient beings such as yourself or as animals that do not require explanations or diplomatic courtesies?

I don't mean to be contentious..and for the most part I think your list is perfect and exactly what should be asked Steve. Except maybe for one little thing. Is there a God? You imply that they actually know the answer and we don't. I do. There IS a God. Maybe I'd ask instead..if they had spiritual considerations in their society..morals..and how their social orders are established or simply do you believe in a supreme being. I'm not nearly as eloquent or gracious as you are Steve..I'd probably start an apocalyptic incident with my questions 1. Are you aware of our laws on this planet and that kidnapping is a crime? Do you understand laws and why they might be a part of a planet's social structure? Do you consider yourselves above what laws we might have? 2. Are you aware that encounters with you and subsequent memory losses can eventually lead to psychological trauma and in some cases lasting physical effects? 3. Are you responsible for the abduction of children and of adults on this planet? 4. If so, what is your purpose in this? What is your selection process? Um...if I were standing in front of a herd of them..I'd stick to your questions and toss mine Steve I guess that curiosity is specific to the owner and that it depends on our experiences I don't care how long 'they've' been coming here or if they genetically engineered people..we are who we are now. Descended from gorillas, chimps, aliens or pond scum..we have basic needs and feelings that should be respected. I don't give a darn if they think I am beneath their regard..I am sentient with morals they don't show they have..and it's my planet they've chosen to visit. Learn our laws before you come visiting. Knock on the door, introduce yourself and you just might get a dinner invitation

Knock on the door, introduce yourself and you just might get a dinner invitation Jo, Asking the God question may have not been phrased right. I tried to make it the least leading way. I don't need to ask an alien if a God exists or not. You related that part fine. The question was more in wondering if they have perhaps the same questions themselves many here ask. Perhaps they might give me an answer similar as yours.... Steve

I guess that would depend on how alike we are. I know that I may not be fair on this point. I'm not sure how others 'handled' the personal invasion aspect when memory started to darken their dreams. I got mad. I think it helped to ease my sense of injustice (or whatever else you might want to call it) and keep me more balanced than I might otherwise have been. It represented a lot of things to me that were just darned wrong. I had enough problems going on in my teens (even more than usual teenage crisis) and the worst..was that after this happened I was afraid of everything. I had this big ball of fear in my stomach that never went away but there never was a reason for it. Until I started to remember. There were days I couldn't draw a full breath without feeling sick to my stomach. Guess I was an over emotional child (Leo's..sigh). I stewed the anger I felt and it was my weapon to combat that blob of fear. So I know my questions might be way too edgy to ever let me near them. On the other hand what really bakes my noodle (to coin a phrase from Matrix) Is that if I ever had to face them I'm terrified all that fear would come to a head and I'd be a basket case. Your questions are right Steve..mine are bitter and mean. By now..the ones I encountered may be dead as door-nails and I'd be taking it out on innocents who evolved past the others.

"On the other hand what really bakes my noodle (to coin a phrase from Matrix) Is that if I ever had to face them I'm terrified all that fear would come to a head and I'd be a basket case." I can completely empathize with that statement Jo, however I would have been unable to write it as eloquently as you have done... I had another rough night last night, had that sensation of being watched and couldn't sleep because of it... in spite of taking one sleeping pill, then two more... was thinking that too. "If I roll over and face the wall and drift off to sleep... what if I hear a noise, open my eyes and turn to see one of 'them' standing next to my bed or walking through the shut door? I would probably have a heart attack and die right there..."

I would hope that they would have evolved past the point of fighting wars and killing each other. Most of the reasons that people fight are so petty and meaningless...territory (unnecessary when the entire universe is your playground), natural resources (comes with the territory), power (unnecessary when you have the technology to travel the universe). I don't think that abducting people counts as war since most abductees are returned relatively unharmed. My questions would be... 1. I know it's not a good idea to let Casper drive your spaceship but could you please take him with you? 2. Why not?

Please take Casper for a ride..show him "the planet of the ghosts"... Actually Casper I haven't seen hide nor hair of them since the sixties..but I didn't start remembering things until a lot later..maybe if they could undo things..they would. I'd like to think so.
