Cliff I hope for you and Kelly that everything will work out exactly as you dream for it to be..and it IS very important that the two of you clearly have a 'dream' because they tend to come true if you set out positive bait. My contribution

Thanks everyone ! Well, things changed again,,,lol. ;D This time it's final though.( We hope) . What a day. Were not going to buy the mobile home or the land out in the country. Were buying a house in town instead,,,for sure ! I just got off of the phone with my sis and closed the deal. It isn't a mobile home . Its a house in a subdivision with a garage and all that good stuff. ~ Were very happy ~ . I tried to get the mobile home from the guy we were going to buy it from and set on the land and when I went up to check out the moving situation,,,it had a note saying "not to be moved under penalty of law". Evidently the guy here in the park that owns the land is contesting with the guy who owns the home and we dont want to be caught in the middle of their legal dispute . To make a long story short, after calling the court house,,,my attorney,,, our real estate agent,, and the rest of the world,,, ,,, we just took the house in town instead and we couldn't be happier ! ;D I know about this house also cause Ive been there many times so we know what were getting into and we love it . Hopefully a plane doesn't crash into it ;D. It's been a long eventful day,,,good night all,,,lol .

Been a long eventful day, but would the property still afford room for a observatory and shelter, or is the move to town and light pollution preclude this?
Just wondering.

Been a long eventful day, but would the property still afford room for a observatory and shelter, or is the move to town and light pollution preclude this? Just wondering. Steve Though we were wanting the peace and privacy of living far out in the country, Kelly and I have to face facts that were not spring chickens anymore and trying to maintain the land and all the obstacles and factors combined, not to mention that I still haven't gotten my drivers license because of the DMV and their errors, it wouldn't be feasible to live out in no mans land. Im going friday to speak with my attorney about getting my license legal again or taking it to Congress if that's what it takes. What a mess ! Ive never been in trouble with the law or even had a ticket and I still cannot drive due to their computer error. >:(Arghh). Though we will still be in town, we'll be at the outskirts where light pollution isn't extreme but will still be a factor, unfortunately. Though I lived in town several years ago I was still able to count over 500 leonid meteors several years ago and 4th-5th magnitude visibility is still possible even with the unaided eye. I'm still going to build an observatory, but it will be a few years down the line most likely. The backyard would be the best place for one with plenty of room. I am going to purchase a telescope hopefully as soon as possible. This move along with everything else that has come upon us unexpectedly has been a minor setback but it will work out better for us this way. When Kelly and I have this house bought and paid for in the next 10 years it will be worth quite a bit and then we can sell and make plans for a home in the country most likely if the economy gets better that is. We both like this home and the neighborhood isn't bad. As far as tornadoes, I don't fear them. I think the house could withstand a small one and we have sirens close by in case we have to seek shelter elsewhere . It's much better than being in a mobile home if one did hit. Either way,,, were going to be ~very~ happy I believe !!

;D Yay!! I think the economy will improve... if we vote out all the dunderheads in Washington these coming elections... Though I'm mainly for the Republican Party it doesn't matter at all to me who is elected , either Republican, Independent, or Democrat. I just want to see whoever it is do a good job and get this country back in the shape it needs to be in. I believe it's a joint effort involving each and every citizen to also do their part in making that happen. America has always been a strong nation, especially when the going gets tough.

After about a week of extensive work getting moved, Kelly and I are enjoying our 3 bedroom home. We couldn't be happier. We both love this house and are finally getting settled in. Moving is alot of hard work and we hope it's something we wont have to do again for many years to come. The water is good too btw,,,lol. We hadn't realized how much we had acquired over the last few years until we went to move it.

I can't imagine how much I have to move. It would really be scary in a way. I pile up a lot in 15 years. ;D We out grew this place the first few years we were here. If I did not keep all the things I collected as a hobby, about 50% of my possessions would not be here. ;D Kids have tried to get us back to Cape. But we prefer here to that hot waterfront and bugs bugs bugs. ;D Aaron has just moved also. His posted his home on facebook. He is so happy also. How far a distance did you move? Any climate changes? And yes I would always taste the water before I moved to any new place. That is a must. Don't like the water forget it. I never buy drinking water, but I guess I could always start. ;D What I have tasted in store bought water, I did not care for at all. Thanks for sharing your new home with us.

If you move to Missouri we can form a band. One of the bedrooms here is my mancave and that's where I keep all my musical equipment that Im hoping to turn into a studio. It's getting there. I can hook up one of the yamaha keyboards to the P.A. and hook the guitar to the amp and we can jam out,,,lol. ;D My drummer and bass guitarist lives right down the road . ;D You of course can be the lead singer too cause I love your voice !!

We only moved 5 miles Lois from the country to town. Though were within city limits were still kind of on the outskirts of town in a subdivision. Its peaceful here and the neighbors seem friendly. Its quiet most of the time. In the backyard I still have good viewing for stargazing though the trees in our yard are tall and obstruct some of the viewing,,,still pretty though.

And do you realize how long you've been gone from TEOR? I was starting to get worried ! ;D Lol. Because of the fact that I was trying to save a buck or two (moving is expensive), I chose to hook the phone lines and cable up myself which I couldn't do for a bit with all the moving and unpacking. Were still unpacking boxes but were getting there. There's still alot to do but at least now the main things are done and we can relax more . That first week was hectic both day and night. Kelly and I didn't get much sleep that 1st week with all the work we had to do. Its nice to be able to relax some again.

Awwwww... ~blush~ ~hugz~ I think mom and dad are thinking about Colorado where my sister is... or maybe a small town in North Carolina where most of dad's family lives... If we move to Colorado, I can become a massage therapist and get my certification- then my sister (who is taking business classes through an online college and already has a degree in holistic medicine) wants to open up a health-food herbal medicine store and give me a natural massage therapy room in the back for her customers... But... we are still discussing it. Mom is not too keen on the idea... but me and dad are rearing to go...

Its a good practice to get into. Colorado is beautiful !!

I love animals,,,. At the moment we have 3 dogs, 3 cats, 1 bird, and we just gave away our 2 large iguanas. People often remark how about every animal has an attraction to me. It's all good until I drive down the road and they fly out in front of me. In my lifetime of driving I have hit several opossums, cats, dogs,a coyote, a peacock ( yes,,,a peacock ),,,a cow,,,yes,,,a cow,,,( it totalled my duster), 2 deer head on ( the car I have now has a bent hood from a 6 pointer ),,,and one broad sided me ( I should say my ex,,,it hit the door on her side - ahhh ;D) which makes 3 deer total. I think the peacock may have survived but I still cant be sure to this day. You shoulda seen the look on peoples faces ( as well as my 1st ex and myself) when I was driving through town with a peacock screaming its head off looking like a hood ornament as Im driving through town. Like all the other animals, it just flew out of nowhere and well,,,,, I looked back and stopped and looked under my car. It disappeared. No peacock,,,not even a feather. I hate even seeing an animal hurt . Every one of these was unintentional. I would have to say that the worst of all of these was when I was driving the church van full of kids and a dog ran out in front of me. That was not good.

Yeah, it's weird. It was 88 degrees on my birthday just a couple of days ago. For those of us with allergies the temperature drastic changes seem to wreck havoc. My daughter had a cold for 2 weeks before I finally caught it. . .usually I can resist the common cold. My daughter had the cold for so long because part of it was allergies. . . Otherwise, 65 degrees (right now) and sunshine is gorgeous! (so I'm the weird one today; wrapped in a blanket on the couch )

Ive had a couple of "sightings" this week that I felt were worth mentioning. At about 3:30 a.m. on the early morning of June 13 I took the dogs out and immediately noticed blinking going on in the northern sky so I turned the porch light off to see it better. I saw an object which appeared to possibly be a satellite but it blinked brighter than one normally would flashing about every 7 seconds or so as bright as the star Vega. It travelled a few degrees southward from the constellation of Ursa Minor ( The Little Dipper) and then I noticed another one exactly identical to the 1st object displaying the same flashes on the same trajectory. They continued southbound through the constellations between Lyra and Hurcules and southward . There could've been more before I went out . I will add that these objects were on the same course as many satellites that I have been observing but if they were sats,,, they sure didn't appear to be Imo. Hopefully I may have caught them on video but Im not sure yet and Im not getting my hopes up after what happened last time. The night before last I was stargazing and noticed a flash at the corner of my eyes. I looked over and it flashed again extremely bright and I would have a difficult time even trying to describe what it looked like. This was approximately 8:30 p.m. in the constellation of Lyra near the star Vega. Later that night at about 1:20 a.m. I noticed a bright flash in the western sky again near the same constellation Lyra . Whatever the object was flashed again the second time and then didn't show back up. I watched the skies for quite some time after. Ive been doing alot of stargazing lately. On 2 nights in a row I recently saw the ISS fly over and it was an awesome site. These things,,,whatever they were,,,are out of the norm.

Hopefully you caught it on film Cliff... ~crosses her fingers~ I cant load what pics I have to the computer. When Kelly had this camera the part that connects to the USB broke so I bought her another camera and used this one. I was able to take the memory card out of mine and load from hers but now it wont let us do that for some odd reason. Until I figure out how to load to the puter I wont know for sure whether or not I captured them. I guess its time to buy another camera. Because of the magnitude of these 2 objects Im only hoping that the camera caught them. Im not getting my hopes up though. I wished I would've had the camera when the others displayed bright flashes. It was the objects that I saw on the night of the 13th that I tried to film. I didn't have the camera available for the others ,,,bummer .

With everything that's being said about digital cameras these days, I've been tempted to take Sky's (I believe) suggestion to put an old instant camera with flash in my car. How would I load those to the internet?? However, Lois gets some pictures, and I hope you do to, Touched .

Hi, Jc. When you take your film to get it developed (like at Walmart or wherever)they can put the pictures on a computer disc for you. That way they could be put on the internet.

Cliff I seen a large white flash night before last around 9 pm. It startled me as it was so quite outdoors and everything so still. I was combing the sky over my home but then to the Northeast came this flash like a camera right in your face. It was so weird. I thought something had exploded above me. It only lasted a second. I kept on watching but nothing followed it. Pure white like huge snowball. It sort of sent out a rays around it. What ever it was.. was not moving or going anywhere.

I suspect it may be man made crafts that I sighted over those 2 nights. I read a recent report out of Springfield , Mo. only a few miles away of a similar report on the 8th of the month that was witnessed by 2 people only a few days prior to the sighting I saw on the morning of the 13th of the 2 objects. This is the one I may have captured on camera. The other one 3 nights ago may be the same that Lois witnessed because the bright blue flashing in the same area (northeast) close to the same time seems to fit except Lois didn't see the yellow projection that followed from her vantage point which makes sense to me because of the direction it was pointing. It was hours later again that night that I had seen 2 more bright blue flashes but on this sighting there was no yellow light display. As high as the object was and the location between her point of observation and mine it could very well have been the same thing. I suspect it probably was. Keep your eyes on the skies .
