A decent argument, sky. I hope I've established that I'm neither a "believer" or "non-believer" as far as bigfoot is concerned. My skepticism is standard procedure, or at least I try as best as I can to apply it equally to everything. Such a creature might indeed exist, and if it did, I've outlined what I think it might actually be: an over-sized specimen of paranthropus. The paranthropes and gracile australopiths are a part of our evolutionary line, so they resembled us in very important ways. Bipedalism and a similar dentition pattern are the most important ones.
Gigantopithecus, however, did not. I keep seeing people attempt to establish a link between the creature described as "bigfoot" in various legends and anecdotal stories with the historical gigantopithecus, and the dissonance is alarming. The fossilized mandible and teeth associated with this huge extinct ape is incongruent with those of a bipedal creature. I illustrated how they closely resemble that of the gorilla, an extant knuckle-walking ape. The "V" shaped mandible denotes an elongated face suited to serve as an anchor for powerful jaw muscles, something you do not find in bipedal hominid apes like the australopiths, the bulkier paranthropes, homo erectus, and us. The gigantopithecus mandible features sharpening canines, something that all bipedal apes lack. Gigantopithecus was likely a very large gorilla-like ape. Bigfoot is not described in that fashion at all. Why do people persist in attempting to stress a connection that can be illustrated not to exist?
Of course, the example of "bigfoot" we have to work with here is derived from legends and stories, not verifiable empirical evidence. Still, since all we're playing with here is conjecture, we can work with the legendary descriptions of bigfoot vs. the historical example of gigantopithecus. Bigfoot is described as fully bipedal and very hairy, with a human-like visage. On the surface, this describes any member of the australopithecine family, not a gorilla. Even though gorillas and chimps are capable of walking on two legs for very short distances, they are not bipeds. Dogs can do the same thing.
On the matter of remains, there are gaping holes in the argument you reference. We know how long the modern forms of bears and felines have lived in North America because we have excavated their remains and dated them. We can compare these remains to those of living members and ascertain that we are looking at the same animal. We also have the wonderful matter of living bears and felines to study as well. A number of socio-political challenges face researchers who wish to investigate sites where gigantopithecus remains were found. Hostile governments and the challenge of funding are two of the most important factors limiting efforts to find more gigantopithecus remains to examine. Conditions within the countries themselves also impede scientific progress and sharing. When you add those up, it's little wonder that we've only managed to get our hands on relatively few fragments of gigantopithecus.
The lack of "bigfoot" remains is indeed a serious flaw in the armor of those who insist that it is an actual creature. Places where they have been sighted have been extensively examined by researchers for forensic evidence, and so far we find two things: nothing, or evidence that is eventually found to be false, or even worse, part of an elaborate hoax. This quantifies my skepticism.

I think the connection between gigantopithecus and bigfoot is probably a result of the news media and many bigfoot enthusiasts desire to create a scientific basis for the creature. After all, giganto lived in the eastern part of Asia and bigfoot is primarily known from the northwestern part of North America. With the Bering land bridge connecting the two it would have been easy for the creature to have walked across from one place to the other. Humans did, as did horses, camels and wooly mammoths among other things. From the reading I have done there is only a small percentage (about 10%) of anthropologists who believe that gigantopithecus was bipedal but they and their theory are the ones that get all of the attention so naturally that's the one the general public accepts. I agree with your assessment from looking at the jawbones though...giganto probably was a large version of a gorilla or orangutan. The jaws looked almost identical. I'm still thinking bigfoot is a much closer relative of humans. The more I research it the more convinced I am. The thing is not entirely human but closely related. And although I can appreciate your middle of the road stance on whether or not it exists I am inclined to believe that it does. I'm sure you have figured that out by now. I'm not 100% sure yet since there still isn't any conclusive proof but I'm leaning in that direction by about 90%. I would love to someday go up into the northwest and conduct a serious excavation of some of the caves in that region. If there is any fossil evidence left behind from the creature that is probably where it would be found.

I share your desire to search for evidence, sky. I think there's something to the legends and sightings, despite all of the hoaxes and false leads over the years. I tend to adopt a scientific approach to matters such as this one, meaning that I try to falsify my hypothesis every step of the way. My take on bigfoot is thus:
Bigfoot is supposed to be very human-like. What creature do we know of, either living or dead, satisfies this very important criteria? We have limited choices. Here they are.
1.) Gorilla (living), chimpanzee (living), orangutan (living). They are our closest (known) living relatives, and anyone who has experienced meeting one of these apes up close and personal will tell you they were meeting a person...just a different-looking person. The problem with this: none of them are bipeds. They are knuckle-walkers with a partially-erect posture. When they run, they do so with both their hands and their feet. Their arms are much longer than their legs. There is also the matter of the footprints they leave behind: it looks like a hand made them. This one is out.
2.) The gracile Australopiths (extinct). These creatures are responsible for giving rise to our own species, Homo Sapiens. They were fully erect and walked on two feet. While their brow ridge was prominent and their cranial capacity much lower than ours, they still looked surprisingly human...more so than a gorilla or chimp, that's for sure. The problem with this: the gracile australopiths were small by our standards. Afarensis, considered by many to be the australopith species that gave rise to our oldest direct ancestor, was only three feet tall. Also, the most recent remains of these creatures have been dated at two million million years old. This one is out.
3.) Gigantopithecus (extinct), the largest ape known to have existed. Very few remains of this species have been found, but what we have found conforms to the morphology present in our knuckle-walking cousins, the gorillas and the orangutans. With gigantopithecus out of the picture, the largest known ape (this includes us since we are also apes) is the gorilla. The average adult male gorilla weighs over 350 pounds and has an arm span of over seven and a half feet. We might be taller than they are, but they are most definitely larger than us. Gigantopithecus is ruled out.
4. The robust Australopiths, or paranthropus as they are called now (extinct). The last known member went extinct approximately one million years ago...but despite this, a parathropus-like creature remains my best candidate for bigfoot-hood. They were significantly larger and heavier than their gracile cousins, approaching us in both height and weight. They were fully erect and walked on two feet that left prints virtually identical to our own footprints. Their remains show us that they were very human-like in their appearance, just like the smaller australopiths were. The problem with this one is the problem I have with bigfoot in general: no recent remains have been found.

Cryptozoology: Does It Matter If Bigfoot Is Real?
By Laura Poppick, Staff Writer September 25, 2013 The study of extremely rare or mythical creatures like Bigfoot, called cryptozoology, is generally considered a fringe science, lacking the type of robust analysis required to appear in peer-reviewed scientific journals. But for Loren Coleman, owner of the world's only international cryptozoology museum in Portland, Maine, such accusations are beside the point. The fun is in the unknown. For that reason, his museum offers visitors an educational experience and a chance to consider yet-to-be-discovered creatures on Earth. His motto is: "Enjoy the quest," according to museum docent Sarah McCann. "The mystery is what is fun about it," McCann told LiveScience. "There will always be mysteries out there. Whether or not Bigfoot is real doesn't matter terribly." Truth in the terrors?Cryptozoology has existed in certain forms for centuries, with roots in native folklore and mythology. The Yeti, for example, appeared in native Nepalese legends dating back to the fourth century B.C., and only later attained the popularized name Abominable Snowman from British climbers who found suspicious footprints on Mount Everest in the 1920s. This rich history comes to life during McCann's 30-minute tours through the two main rooms of the museum, which contain a total of about 10,000 pieces of paraphernalia ranging from purported Bigfoot footprint casts, to jackalope taxidermy, to a black-and-white photo of two men standing above what appears to be some sort of unidentifiable sea monster, sent to the museum anonymously without a note. Along the tour, McCann offers pieces of evidence for and against the existence of the various creatures on display — collectively known as cryptids, or animals whose existence is unsubstantiated — providing anecdotes passed down from cryptozoologists regarding the quality of evidence and the credibility of those claiming to have made the sighting. She then encourages visitors to come to their own conclusions for each case. For example, McCann personally believes that the sophistication of Bigfoot's movements in the famous 1967 Patterson Bigfoot film — the widely distributed grainy footage of a large beast tromping through Bluff Creek, Calif., taken by a man named Roger Patterson — surpasses the capabilities of technology of 1960s film. Costumes from the earliest episodes of "Star Trek," which premiered around the same time, do not compare in intricacy, McCann said. For this reason, she remains cautiously optimistic that the video could be real. Tools of the TradeColeman, who studied anthropology and zoology in college and earned a master's degree in social work before committing full-time to cryptozoology, also remains cautiously optimistic about the existence of cryptids. But he emphasizes the cautiousness of his optimism, particularly when assessing a new specimen presented to him by novice cryptozoologists. "The first thing that I always examine is the person that brings me the evidence," Coleman told LiveScience during a recent visit to the museum. "Do they have credibility, and why are they doing this? Are they trying to prove something, trying to make money, or trying for fame? Or have they really just had an extraordinary encounter, and are just trying to find some psychological safety in finding someone who will talk to them about it?" After this initial assessment, Coleman examines the physical evidence available, which may include items such as pieces of hair, feces, footprints, photographs or simply personal anecdotes. Physical evidence is usually more abundant for land-based creatures like Bigfoot than for the more elusive underwater Loch Ness monster, Coleman said. "A lot of people say 'Do you believe in the Loch Ness monster?' and I always have to say I don't believe in any of this," Coleman said. "Because belief is about religion, it's about faith. I accept or deny the evidence." Hoaxes vs. honest mistakesColeman says 85 percent to 90 percent of the cases he is presented with are clear hoaxes. Purported Bigfoot tracks are often too uniform to be real, or the toes are too square, or the print itself does not have the texture of a true animal print. Still, the remaining 10 to 15 percent either remain open cases under investigation, or have been honest misidentifications that have since been proven wrong, such as a purported demon found in rural Maine that DNA analyses later proved was actually the dead body of a domesticated dog. While cryptozoologists generally enjoy the mystery of the unknown, McCann says that substantiating the existence of any cryptid would be even more tantalizing for her. "I think it would just open up a whole new avenue for learning about their behaviors, diets and evolutionary history," McCann said. "I think that learning that they exist is just the tip of the iceberg." Coleman hopes to expand his museum in the next several years to a larger space so that he can display his 400 boxes' worth of additional materials that he keeps in storage, including 40,000 books on cryptozoology that he would eventually like to turn into a library within the museum. www.livescience.com/39946-international-cryptozoology-museum.html

The fascinating photographs, taken just two weeks ago near Bradford, Pennsylvania, appear to show a pair of Bigfoots, or perhaps that should be Bigfeet, wandering through the trees. Keen hiker John Stoneman claims he spotted the seven-foot-tall beasts just yards from a main road through trees in Kinzua State Park. Bigfeet? This image, taken just two weeks ago near Bradford, Pennsylvania, is believed to show two of the mysterious creatures known as Bigfoot wandering through the woods Apeman: A close up shows one of the 'beasts' spotted just yards from a main road through trees in Kinzua State Park Mr Stoneman, 57, had been returning from the Kinzua Bridge Fall Festival with his girlfriend when the pair saw the mysterious shape moving in the forest. He quickly grabbed his camera and fired off these shots as they slowed the car down and edged along the road. Traffic backing-up behind his vehicle forced John to move on but not before he got what he believes is some of the best evidence yet of the existence of the legendary North American creature. Evidence? The new photographs will fuel the debate on whether the legendary creature actually exists Evidence? The new photographs will fuel the debate on whether the legendary creature actually exists Mr Stoneman, from Bradford, PA, said: 'I'm a sceptic myself, I'm not a believer, but this was not a bear and you can see fur on it. 'It's wider at the shoulders and tapers down whereas a bear is bigger in the middle and stands differently with its paws out, this was standing like a man, like a Bigfoot. 'At first some people have discredited it and said it's just a root ball at the bottom of a fallen tree, but I've been back to the exact spot and there is no root ball there. 'We do have black bears, but they are considerably smaller than this, it was standing about seven-foot tall.' The day before the sighting John said there had been a 'Bigfoot calling contest' organised as part of the bridge festival - an event held annually in the area to commemorate an old viaduct destroyed by a tornado. He said: "This was 200 yards from the road, it was too narrow for me to be able to pull over without stopping traffic but I got as many pictures as I could. 'I actually dropped the camera casing so I couldn't see what I had got until I got home and put them on my computer, I was surprised at what I saw. 'I looks more like a bigfoot than anything else, I've already had organisations asking me to send them copies for verification.' Mr Stoneman - who is a member of the local outdoor pursuits group Allegheny Outdoor Adventures - said he had never seen anything like it in the woods before. A panel of scientists have spent $500,000 to video, capture dna and find one sleeping. I hope with all my heart that all proof of Bigfoot remains invisible because the moment we involve ourselves with a species the moment it begins stepping toward the endangered list. Observation would never be enough and whatever peaceful existence this being might enjoy now..would be destroyed in our greed.

I'm sure they don't want to have anything to do with us. If you look back at the bigfoot reports from the 1800s every time somebody encountered one of them they immediately started shooting at it. There are reports that said that back then some bigfeets were actually shot and killed, which makes sense because almost everybody who dared to venture into the wilderness carried a gun back then. The bigfeets that survived did so because they learned to avoid humans like the plague. As intelligent as these creatures seem to be I'm sure they pass that info down from generation to generation. Now as soon as they see a human they head for the hills. That's another reason why they are so hard to find...they don't want to be found.

I wouldn't set your hopes too high regarding the latest claim of forensic evidence "proving" that bigfoot is an actual creature. Laundry list of problems:
- The "researcher" at the head of this latest claim is a veterinarian. - Unverifiable claim that peer-reviewed journals refused to print their results because it would "damage" their respective reputations. - Unverifiable claim that a number of independent sources, including major universities, analyzed their DNA sample. It's unverifiable because none of the named sources reported their findings. If this claim was genuine, a university would most certainly make a press release detailing their initial results. - Childish feud with a skeptical Houston Chronicle reporter. This reporter sent some of their sample material to a lab for analysis. The lab reported that the material contained opossum DNA. - A video stressing that this is "serious" research. Begging your pardon, but if you conduct research following acceptable, rigorous protocols, then peer-reviewed journals wouldn't turn you away, and you wouldn't have to make a video where you stress that you have conducted "serious" research.
Hoax Meter reading: 99.9999% fraudulent.

Here's ten things you need to know about the legendary beastThe mystery surrounding Bigfoot has been around for hundreds of years. The latest discovery of a decomposing big foot has sparked speculation that it could belong to the legendary beast. But what do we know about the mythical creature? 1) – The creature is described as standing 7–10 ft tall and weighing more than 35 stone, with footprints 17 inches long. Bigfoot is also known as Sasquatch. 2) – In 1965, Bigfoot was officially put on the endangered species list in Russia. Germany and France followed suit in 1967. 3) - The British explorer David Thompson is sometimes credited with the first discovery in 1811 of a set of Sasquatch footprints. Many people since then claim to have taken pictures of the hairy beast's footprints, though nobody can produce any hard evidence. 4) - If you are confronted by Bigfoot, offering it food will provide you with an 80 per cent chance of survival, while crying will provoke the animal to punch you in the face, according to Bigfoot Finder, a website dedicated to spotting the creature. 5) - There is conflicting scientific evidence about Bigfoot. Some researchers believe it is closely related to humans while others think Bigfoot originated from an extinct giant ape. It may even be an extraterrestrial being. DNA testing suggests elusive Yeti could be a polar bear hybrid roaming the Himalayas
Published October 17, 2013 Associated Press LONDON – Could the Abominable Snowman be a bear? A British geneticist says DNA analysis suggests the Yeti, the elusive ape-like creature of the Himalayas, may be the descendant of a polar bear that roamed the peaks tens of thousands of years ago. Oxford University genetics professor Bryan Sykes compared hair samples taken from two unidentified Himalayan animals to a database of animal genomes. He says they shared a genetic fingerprint with an ancient polar bear jawbone found in Norway that is at least 40,000 years old. Sykes says the evidence suggests the mysterious creature may be a hitherto undiscovered cross between polar bears and brown bears. Tom Gilbert, professor of paleogenomics at the Natural History Museum of Denmark, says Sykes' conclusion is a "reasonable explanation" for Yeti sightings. www.foxnews.com/world/2013/10/17/dna-testing-suggests-elusive-yeti-could-be-polar-bear-hybrid-roaming-himalayas/

How is that a reasonable explanation? Polar bears don't walk on two legs and have feets like humans. They have found yeti tracks in the snow over there. They don't look anything at all like a bear. Does this look anything like a bear footprint to anybody?

Check this out. It's a gorilla that walks on two legs like a man. Supposedly bipedal gorillas and apes are not as uncommon as people would believe. Many have the capability to do it they just don't do it on a regular basis. The ones that do tend to walk upright usually have relatives that also tend to walk upright so it appears to be a genetic trait. That's definitely not a man in a monkey suit neither. Here is also a good article showing comparisons of an upright walking gorilla with the bigfoot from the old Patterson film. frontiersofzoology.blogspot.com/2012/01/biped-zoo-gorilla-throws-light-on.htmlNotice the similarities between the upper bodies of the gorilla and the bigfoot. Notice how the dimensions of the bigfoot do not match the dimensions of a human. I would say that pretty much proves that a man wasn't in any bigfoot suit in that film either.

This is supposedly a photo of the alleged "bigfoot" that supposedly was shot and killed down in San Antonio a while back. The guy who supposedly killed it claims that he has had DNA testing done on it and that he is going to take it on a nationwide tour very soon. Remember however that this same nutball was caught committing a hoax back in 2008 when he also claimed to have a frozen bigfoot body which turned out to be nothing more than a man-made monkey suit. I personally don't believe a word this clown says.

There have been a few habituation accounts that I feel are credible...but Janice Carter's story and the following article are very questionable. What do you think?: Woman Claims She Raised a Baby Bigfoot January 12th, 2014 By Michael Bachman AVONDALE, La. – A woman claims she helped raise a Bigfoot between the years 1964 and 1972. L. Melacetti, 70, says she found the animal when he was a baby, abandoned in the swamps of Louisiana. “He was so little, so cute. I had to do something about it. He was so defenseless, laying next to the mud and water, curled, crying like a baby, his parents were either dead or they had abandoned him,” the ex-farmer said. The hominid, Melacetti explained, was 20 pounds and had a hairless face that “did not look like a human’s nor a monkey’s.” “He accepted me as a friend right away. I took him home only for three nights to nurse him back to health.” In the course of those three days, she fed the Bigfoot anything she had at hand, from lettuce and tomatoes, to eggs and goat milk. “And he liked tomatoes very much. He’d take them away from my hands and eat them whole. His favorite ones were brandywine, although he seemed to enjoy the cherry tomatoes too.” After releasing the animal back into the wilderness, it kept coming back to Melacetti’s small house. “So, every time he came back, usually during evening, when most people weren’t around, I’d give him more food.” She lived in that house as a single woman and had no children, which made it easy for her to keep a secret. “He was my friend. Even though he couldn’t speak well, sometimes he’d say words I taught him in English.” Words like “tomato”, “food”, “love” and “hungry”. Eventually, she says, the beast grew up, and one night Melacetti received an unusual but pleasant surprise. “He brought a friend with him! At first the other guy was shy, hiding behind the bushes, but little by little, he began to trust me too. So there we were, sitting on my porch, two Bigfoots and I, having dinner under the moon.” “When people in town began using them CB radios, the Bigfoots didn’t visit as much. Then I had to move out because of my age, but I know they are still there, a big group of Bigfoots. I taught them about hunters and other people that might hurt them and not to trust any humans. I shouldn’t be telling you this, but…maybe my old age betrayed me.” Melacetti did not want to give away the location where the alleged events occurred, but she promised that “Bigfoots are real and that they happen to be excellent creatures, docile and better than most people. And by the way, they don’t smell bad like some idiots say.” When asked about evidence such as pictures she replied that she has some she keeps in a secret spot. “Oh you rascal, the only reason I wanted to tell you my story is to show the world these animals are beautiful creatures. But I would never, ever, betray my best friends. I have given you a story. Tell it. That’s all. Only another person besides you knows my secret now, my friend Maggie who contacted you about it.” She also spoke of not wanting to do any future interviews and asked to be left alone. She is planning to publish her secret journal someday, she said. MORE: www.phantomsandmonsters.com/2014/02/louisiana-woman-claims-she-raised.html

He holds his alien in a jar, just one of the UFO/alien items he has used to decorate the establishment. / Patrick Flood/Action Reporter Media With the temperature hovering near the zero mark, and not too much to do inside, I didn’t to sit down and write an article somewhat different from what of what I usually write. It just occurred to me that in today’s society there are so many things presented to us that we are asked to believe, but most of us doubt are true. A lot is presented but very little is proved. Television today presents many programs about sasquatches, or if you prefer, big foot. One group messes with big foot in commercials and now we all know that he doesn’t like his finger nails polished with bright red nail polish or a bucket full of water dropped on his head, among other things. I don’t know how many times I have seen pictures of him walking on the edge of the forest, only to disappear in the woods. Funny how no one has ever caught up with him to ask, “What’s up, doc?” It seems like he has been sighted in many places throughout our fine country, including Wisconsin. If you don’t believe me, just go online and Google him. I don’t expect to ever meet one face to face, but if I did, I would invite him in, offer him some of my homemade caramel corn, and see if he would reveal to me his personal history. Don’t bet on that ever happening. And how about his cousin, the yeti? They seem to have been discovered in the mountain forests in countries in the South Pacific. They are reported to be much smaller in size than big foot. Maybe they don’t have as much to eat or don’t have to grow that heavy fur coat to ward off the weather like we have right now. If I ever get to New Guinea, I’ll try and look one up. Don’t bet on that, either. And please don’t forget our friends from Mars. People have sighted flying saucers, or whatever for years but no one seems to reeled one in or have taken a clear picture of what one looks like. How many readers can remember articles written in The Reporter of a local man (I won’t reveal his name, but his initials are B.K.) who lived, I think, around Campbellsport. He claimed to have made contact with aliens by going out at night into a field and banging on some object making noise to attract the Martians. If you believe he succeeded, I have a bridge to sell you. CONTINUE READING: www.fdlreporter.com/article/20140217/FON0403/302170132/Sasquatches-yetis-martians-oh-my-?gcheck=1&nclick_check=1

www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/trail-floridas-bigfoot-skunk-ape-180949981/?no-ist On the Trail of Florida's Bigfoot—the Skunk Ape Is an imaginary creature a case of mistaken identity?By Joseph Stromberg smithsonianmag.com March 6, 2014 The first time Dave Shealy saw a skunk ape, he says, he was ten years old. It was 1974, a few years after his father came upon a set of footprints left by the creature—an Everglades version of Bigfoot named for its supposedly pungent odor. Dave was out deer hunting with his older brother Jack in the swamp behind his house, in what’s now Big Cypress National Preserve, when he encountered the ape incarnate. “It was walking across the swamp, and my brother spotted it first. But I couldn’t see it over the grass—I wasn’t tall enough,” Shealy says. “My brother picked me up, and I saw it, about 100 yards away. We were just kids, but we’d heard about it, and knew for sure what we were looking at. It looked like a man, but completely covered with hair.” He and his brother stared at the creature, mouths agape, but almost at the same time, as he tells it, the skies opened and rain poured down. The ape hurried away, into the cypress hummocks scattered amongst the marsh. “Holy crap,” he remembers thinking. “I finally saw this damn thing, and it got away, just like that.” But the fleeting moment left an indelible impression on young Shealy, who’s now 50 years old. In the decades since, he’s relentlessly pursued skunk apes and seen them, he says, on three other occasions. He’s written a field guide, made TV appearances, continually investigated reported sightings and established a Skunk Ape Research Headquarters on his property, where tourists can learn all about the legendary creature. He bills himself as the Jane Goodall of skunk apes. “I am the expert,” he told a Bigfoot website last year, “the state and county expert on the Florida skunk ape, and have been for years.” In July 2000, he captured one of his encounters on video. In the grainy daytime footage, shot from hundreds of feet away, the creature spends a few minutes moseying around in a hammock of palm trees. Then, shortly after it begins striding across the open swamp (at about 1:48 in the video below), it breaks into a long-limbed run—as though suddenly aware it’s being watched—escaping into a grove of palm trees. Shealy notes that, at the time, the swamp was covered by over a foot of water, making the animal’s speed (which he estimates to be 22 miles per hour) impossible for any human to achieve. But it’s extremely hard to watch this video and see anything but a guy in a gorilla suit, hurrying across the swamp: Published on Mar 6, 2014 From Smithsonian.com's story on Dave Shealy, Florida's self-proclaimed skunk ape expert: CONTINUE READING: www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/trail-floridas-bigfoot-skunk-ape-180949981/?no-ist

That video was really blurry. I couldn't tell what it was. It couldhave been a bigfoot or it could have been a man in a monkey suit.

www.supernaturalufo.com/mike-wooleys-incredible-encounter-with-two-giant-big-foot-creatures/March 20, 2014 endlessjrny.blogspot.com/ Chris Holly’s Paranormal World- Email chrishollysparanormalworld@gmail.co tele: 631-887-4818 I have not been one to find much interest in the Big Foot issue for many reasons. I think the biggest reason was that up until now I have not come across an encounter that I felt was strong enough for me to believe that something that strange or unusual was happening. I needed more than tree knocks and rock throwing to become really interested and concerned about what was happening with the Big Foot subject. I did think something odd was going on but until now did not comprehend the danger or true strangeness of the Big Foot scenario that is being seen and reported all over the world. My interest became peeked considerably once I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to Mike Wooley. I was told about Mike Wooley by a paranormal buddy of mine who told me about Mike Wooley’s experience with two huge unknown type Big Foot creaturesthat hunted Mike while he was alone on a deer hunt years ago. Mike Wooley, in my opinion , is lucky he survived this experience and without question is lucky to be alive. Mike lives in the small town of Keatchie, 15 minutes south of Shreveport LA. He has been a hunting enthusiast since age 6, when he tagged along with dad while he squirrel hunted. At the age of 15 his interest turned to deer hunting, and he has been tracking in the Louisiana woods ever since. Mike is a man who knows the woods especially in his area of Louisiana and the animals who inhabitant them. This man knows the sights, sounds and smells of the woods around him and is not one to take to stories of the unknown without questioning the possible reasons first. That is exactly what Mike did when he found he was in a dead eye lock with a creature he could not identify that was enormous in size and strength. Mike was perched on his dear stand deep in the woods when finding he was being stalked by an animal over 7 feet tall and at least 400 pounds of pure muscle. This creature was angry and without question there for business , This animal became outraged when it found Mike in that tree on that deer stand in what this beast considered his hunting ground. At first Mike ’s mind tried to logically figure out what it was he was dealing with. Mike knew all the animals in the woods. He considered maybe he was eye to eye with a feral human being that somehow was living wild in the forest . Mikes encounter became a life or death experience as not only was this huge creature after him but another just like it was coming at Mike from another direction. Mikes describes the animals as huge in size yet with very human like faces, features and eyes. They were intelligent and were able to communicate with each other as they hunted Mike as he sat on his deer stand alone in the woods that day. Along with Randy Maugans of ‘Off Planet Radio’ I was able to interview Mike Wooley and was fascinated by what took place the day two huge creatures attacked and nearly caught Mike Wooley in the woods that day in 1981. The event changed Mike’s life forever which once you hear his story is easily understood. After hearing Mike’s firsthand account of what he experienced I had to accept the fact that we do have a very real unknown issue on this planet of another life form we do not understand that is living among us yet are able to stay hidden and free of human interference. Mike feels they are intelligent creatures ,who are masters of their domains , can elude us and keep their tribes or family groups surviving. I feel there may be more to this unknown strange creature that has been reported for hundreds of years all over the earth I question the fact that we are not able to find what we do of all the other animals that live in the wilderness . We can catch visual glimpses of the other animals that live in areas that surround us that are not populated by man with the aid of cameras or sightings by those who live near these locations of wild open areas. We send hunters and researchers into these areas to collect and find evidence of what lives there including nests, indications of what they are eating as well as foot prints and scat left behind by all animals. These obvious things ,however, are not found in the areas that have reports of the mysterious Big Foot animal or by those having encounters with them. www.thecryptocrew.com/2014/03/the-magical-powers-fairies-and-pixie.htmlMonday, March 24, 2014 The Magical Powers, Fairies, and Pixie Dust of Bigfoot
Are We Missing An Important Point?By Dorraine Fisher Skepticism has its place in the bigfoot world. It keeps us sharp. It keeps us airing on the side of logic, and it makes us careful what we believe…and what we fall for. It IS important for us to understand all sides of the question. So skeptics play a huge role in the research. But in the time I’ve watched this community, I’ve found a different kind of skepticism literally creeping into the cultural zeitgeist, threatening to tear at the body of knowledge we’ve managed to accumulate on the subject in a very short time. The research is making a lot of progress whether any of us feels it or not. In spite of all the sensationalism of bigfoot TV shows, many more people believe now…or at least want to find good reasons to believe. So it’s our job to give them something they can hang on to. Because we need it too. But while the research is making huge leaps, and more observations are being made, and patterns are starting to develop, and the argument is becoming more heated. And the big question is: Just what are these creatures/ people we call sasquatches? And what are they really capable of doing? To some, they are regarded as fellow humans. Others want to be able to fit them into a highly developed animal category that is completely separate from any other creature. And still others see them as simply highly intelligent primates. Some regard them as incredibly skilled survivors, while others claim they have amazing, inexplicable, almost magical skills that rival any other creature on earth. And this is where the argument begins. This comes down to the logicians vs. the eye witnesses that claim they have actually seen them doing some really incredible things. At least incredible to those who have never witnessed them. So what’s the real answer? What if the answer lies somewhere in the middle, and what if we’re missing the point because we’re stopping the conversation before it even starts? We say we want the answers to our questions, but are we prepared for those answers? Or, more importantly, are we prepared to hear answers that don’t fit into our own framework of what we think these creatures/people should be? Are we looking for the real answers to our questions, or are we looking for the answers we like? Or the answers that fit into our sense of logic? I’ve often said I have one big problem with logic and I’ll say it again. Logic, like everything else, is a matter of personal perception. Something only seems logical to us if it fits within a framework we personally know and understand. And every individual has their personal idea of what’s logical. And my problem with it is that it doesn’t allow for anything outside that box. It doesn’t allow for new thinking. It doesn’t allow us to have an open mind to new possibilities. Science is very similar. Science is made up of a lot of factoids and theories. All subject to change periodically as new information surfaces. But one thing science is not allowed to do is to try to mold reality around what it already believes or what it wants to believe. It has to be open to new ideas. It has to be willing to say, "We were wrong before." And need to be open also. So, that all being said, what if the answers to our biggest questions about sasquatch are answers that don’t quite fit into our framework of logic? What if the real answers are somewhere beyond that? Are we open-minded enough to accept those answers? Or at least to accept, albeit reluctantly, that there might be some truth in them? A truth that could be explained scientifically and logically with the addition of important details? Because if we’re not open to some seemingly outrageous answers, and we shut down our minds and therefore shut down the conversation, I think it’s important to understand that we may be too busy being skeptical and we’ll miss some very important information. And inadvertently, we may miss some very important details in our research. CONTINUE READING: www.thecryptocrew.com/2014/03/the-magical-powers-fairies-and-pixie.html

www.bostonmagazine.com/news/blog/2014/03/26/can-mit-help-solve-mystery-bigfoot/ Can MIT Help Solve the Mystery of Bigfoot? One Sasquatch enthusiast hopes so.By Steve Annear | Boston Daily March 26, 2014 Image via YouTube Matt Knapp thinks that Bigfoot research is a mess right now. “The facts are that in terms of progress, the Bigfoot research community has ultimately made none. We are no closer now to proving these creatures exist than we were 40 years ago,” Knapp told Boston. Knapp blames the setbacks on the digital age, and the amount of misinformation being spread in the form of photos and videos online. That, and the fact that more people seem to be trying to cash in on what they claim are legitimate Bigfoot sightings. “Self admittedly, up to this point, we have not had anything worth presenting as real evidence of this creature’s existence. If we want scientists to get involved, we have to go by their standards, not our anecdotal ones,” he said. To help filter out the phonies and fakes all trying to make a quick buck on something he believes in, Knapp is asking those vested in Bigfoot research to rely on technology built out of MIT to prove that the truth is out there. Knapp, who runs a blog called “Bigfoot Crossroads,” a personal site with updates about all things Sasquatch, recently stumbled upon an invention created by students and researchers in the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab in Cambridge in 2012, called “Eulerian Video Magnification.” EVM is essentially a software that allows users to break down videos to reveal things in them that are invisible to the naked eye. This includes visualizing the blood pulsing behind someone’s cheeks and face, or capturing changes in body behaviors that the average person is unable to detect just by simply staring at someone. EVM does this by “homing in on specific pixels” in a given video, according to the New York Times, and then amplifying those pixels by up to 100 times using complex algorithms. This happened in Georgia, in 1974. We were back in the swampy, sandy creek bottom, and were going to make a fort out of the bamboo that grew there. The first thing that happened is that the woods got completely silent - the birds and tree frogs had stopped their chirping. Then we heard a branch snap about 20 yards behind us in the dense brush. We thought to ourselves, what if some crazy guy with a knife was about to off us all, so we started to file out of there, when we heard this wild animal scream behind us, and could hear the footfalls running towards us. None of us ( about five of us ) saw it because we all tore out of there as fast as we could. We had to run up this ridge and follow it out to the subdivision. We got back over to our culdesac, and discussed what it was that chased us out. We had seen The Legend of Boggy Creek a year before, so I guess that's why we settled on Bigfoot as the likely explanation. To make a long story short, in the next four months ( this happened in February ) we got to see one adult, about a seven footer and two juveniles, all three of which came up behind our houses on the culdesac , each on a separate occasion.I would love to chat with you guys about all my experiences and about the subject in general" We will also be talking to Justin Steely, director of the new film "Hunting the legend www.blogtalkradio.com/bigfoothotspot/2014/05/19/sc-ep31-chased-out-of-the-woods

It'a an urban legend that has kept floridians curious over the years… What can the dark shadow passing through the woods be? John Bird is a manager at BC Quarter Circle Ranch in Fort White. He says a neighbor who lives down the road told him he had seen skunk apes. "He said that they were pulling the spanish moss off the trees and eating it," Bird said, remembering what a neighbor had told him. "He also told my fiance and i and her uncle that he on a regular basis feeds these skunk apes sweet potatoes and plantains." And while it may seem strange, skunk ape sightings are not uncommon in the area. Bob Hagen, owner of the ranch says he's lived on the property his whole life… he says his grandparents and great-grandparents told him stories about the mysterious creature.
