ancientvisitors.blogspot.com/2011/10/akhenaten-alien-egyptian-ruler.html#.TqSJMEgXkYI.twitter Akhenaten: an alien Egyptian ruler[/color] ANCIENT ALIENS - Akhenaten was a Pharaoh of the Eighteenth dynasty of Egypt who ruled for 17 years and died around 1335 BC. He was married to Nefertiti, and Tutankhamun, also known as King Tut, was likely his son or half brother. Akhenaten (also spelled Echnaton, known before the fifth year of his reign as Amenhotep IV) is best known for introducing a revolutionary form of monotheism to ancient Egypt. He abandoned traditional Egyptian polytheism and introduced the worship of the Aten. An early inscription likens him to the sun as compared to the stars. Later official language avoids calling the Aten a god, giving the solar deity a status above mere gods. After Akhenaten’s death, traditional religious practice was gradually restored. Subsequent rulers brought back Egypt's pantheon of gods and tried to wipe out any evidence of his rule, dismantling his temples and monuments. Akhenaten remained unknown to historians until, in the 19th century, Amarna was discovered, the city that Akhenaten built for the Aten. His statues were found embedded in walls and foundations of later buildings, because they had simply been used as construction materials by later rulers. The artwork and images found from Akhnaten’s time differ remarkably from other periods of Egyptian art. Common people, animals and plants seem to be depicted more naturally. By contrast, royals seem to be more stylised and unnatural in the images form Akhnaten’s time. They have elongated heads, protruding stomachs, heavy hips, thin arms and legs, and their facial features seem extreme. Akhenaten himself is depicted in a bizarre, androgynous way. It is in many cases difficult to know if an image depicts Akhenaten himself or his wife Nefertiti. This is unusual, because in ancient Egypt there was a clear distinction between images and roles of a king and a queen. It has been suggested that Akhenaten was symbolic for Aten, the "mother and father" of all that is. Just sounds like 'Harold' syndrome to me. Some people just aren't happy ruling a kingdom they want to be worshiped. It wouldn't have been much fun under an Aztec ruler either.

"Akhenaten himself is depicted in a bizarre, androgynous way" Yes, there's quite a bit on this subject if one goes looking. I did some studying on this and wish I could recall more "points" of interest... the androgynous part could also be a depiction of "angel" characters, as there is often some disagreement on whether "angels" are male or female. I've also heard the term hermaphrodite related to this ruler, and homosexuality. Seems scholars cannot make up their minds. Also from this period, I believe, from the Amarna records, a major flooding of the Nile was recorded and the Arkaddian language rose to prominence... At this point I wish the scholars would agree on the true order of the dynasties, as it seems there are now two standard beliefs, and I try and mix the two...

"King Tut, was likely his son or half brother." from article above. yeah, right as usual, skywalker let me retry to rephrase myself...it isn't the true order of things (like the dynasties) that I've heard questions about, but a 300-400 yr. discrepancy in time frames? There's even a word they use for this? I know I've got a lot going through my mind lately, but this loss of words is getting ridiculous.

I've been going through a phase like that JC. I am never at a loss for words..it just doesn't happen but lately I'll be babbling along and a key word will just not manifest itself...gone..then I'll think of it out of the blue a day later.. me no likey I also had a dream I really didn't like the other night...that I was bound in some fashion...constricted. In my dream it was like I was wrapped up tight only I couldn't see what was wrapping me. Ever since the abduction thing I've been slightly claustrophobic..I don't do well in crowds or snug places. I never have dreams like that

I know I've got a lot going through my mind lately, but this loss of words is getting ridiculous. it only gets worse as you get older.... ;D ..... this happens to me all the time....i'll be talking and have to stop in mid-sentence, because the most important word just escaped.... i can almost see it leaving but can't retrieve it.... i once had a conversation with a friend who was experiencing the same thing....it was hysterically funny.... and what was odd was we both knew exactly what the other was saying.... at the end of that conversation we were laughing.... and decided growing old sucked....

I have a disturbing thought...in the last two days..my daughter has been backed into twice (she was not in her truck) and I was backed into once. People just not paying attention. I see people with confused looks on their faces because they didn't see the person they nearly ran into in the parking lot. We've been bombarded the last few days by solar flares and it tends to harass electrical components (my internet has been struggling and my cable tv) I think...it's possible that it could cause some kind of interference in the brain. I'm sure scientists will tell me I'm nuts but then they say the same about people who talk about UFO's. I'm going to be paying attention during solar flares to see if there are more incidents and crime.

I'm going to be paying attention during solar flares to see if there are more incidents and crime. I've noticed a bunch of wacko nutballs who don't know how to drive lately...well, even more than usual. I just saw two of them today weaving all over the road like they were totally drunk. Maybe the solar flares fried their brains. And speaking of brain-frying, one of Akhenaten's claim to infamy is that he tried to make some very radical and unpopular changes to Egypt. He moved the capital city from the banks of the Nile out into the middle of the desert then changed the religion to the worship of the Sun. These sun-worshipers would stand out in the sun all day long just worshiping and worshiping until they collapsed from heatstroke. Many of them died as a result. When Akhenaten died the people were very relieved to get back to normal. The new Pharaoh moved the capital back where it had been before, changed the religion back and then tried to erase any memory of Akhenaten's unpopular reign by tearing down the new city and defacing all of the monuments that had been built in it. He even changed his name. King Tutankhaten became King Tutankhamen. I guess the people of Egypt just weren't ready for the type of hope and change that Akhenaten promised. He ended up becoming the most unpopular Pharaoh of all time. It kind of reminds me of a certain president we have today who seems to be following the same path...

Well you're not old JC and some of the people I know having problems are in their 30's (my daughter) and it's intermittent..especially when the sun is tossing us solar flares. I just feel that if it can effect things like computers and cell phones..it could mess with the electrical impulses in the brain. I'm guessing you're not ready for the retirement home yet
