More things in our universe that we could ever dream of..including green peas and voorwerp all thanks to a particularly high powered telescope science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2011/22apr_zooniverse/In this image, the Voorwerp floats near a spiral galaxy. I remember that picture from before on one of the other forums. It looks like a big green frog. I still don't have a clue what a voorwerp is though.

I just did a google search or "Voorwerp". Apparently it is the Dutch word for "Object".
Nobody knows what it is... but according to Jo they think it is a galaxy now. ~shrug~

Looking for where Jo said the Voorwerp was a galaxy...because it looks like a green vapor cloud outside of a galaxy..unless Jo said something she doesn't remember saying..omg the aliens have snatched me again...Voorwerp IS the Dutch word for object because the person who first spotted it (Hanny van Arkel, a Dutch schoolteacher) was Dutch (go figure). In the vast inky darkness that is the universe..there is ~perk~ color and amazing beauty and some really cool things like the voorwerp. ;D I suppose it would be much more fascinating if astride the voorwerp there sat a bigfoot gnawing on a Martian shin bone..alas..just a plain ole voorwerp as per the article attached.

I think Jo was referring to the green peas being galaxies. The voorweep must be the frog that is getting ready to eat the galaxies. I wonder why it is green? Is that the actual color of it? I also wonder what it really is? It looks totally different than anything I have ever seen before in a space photo.

Yep the 'peas' are the galaxies..they say the voorwerp is actually green Sky. I did not expect space to be full of color

I think pictures of outer space are some of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. All of those stars, galaxies, gas clouds, nebulae and planets are amazing to look at. Even voorwerps are pretty cool.

Meh. That's what I get for skimming articles and not reading them.
