Me too. Skywalker posted a thing about it also. It's finally working today but was not working for me at all yesterday. I kept getting a message saying "Failure to connect to server".
Sky said that Proboards is experiencing technical difficulties... so I'm not really sure what's going on...

Pro-Boards was having a DDOS attack (whatever that is)......
Here is what Patrick posted this afternoon:
Patrick ClingerProBoards Admin Today at 12:27pm EST
Within the next few minutes anyone who had a connection problem previously should be able to load their forum without issue.

I havent had problems logging in, but every time Ive gone to post its said I had ran out of time. Ive had to post under "quote" and then repost to make it work. It was happening that way at OM also so I figure its a proboards glitch . It seems to be resolved now.

Was the DDOS attack on Proboards in general, or only certain Proboard websites? For instance, UFO mania and Mufon also use Proboards. Were they effected too?
I had difficulty posting one or two things, but seemed able to get online at TEOR, however I could not access the 50 latest posts. I could still access 'new topics'. But it was obvious something was wrong going on with Proboards.

I think it was effecting their whole system but I'm not 100% sure. I know that the Open Minds forum was shut down for maintenance yesterday but that could have been because of all the internal problems they are having. I'll check with Proboards again later and see if I can find out exactly what was going on. I do know for sure it wasn't just our forum though.

Thanks Sky, Little we can do about it, but we can perhaps learn more, it might show us something.

I just checked with Proboards and it seems the recent problems involved their entire system except for their support forum which is on a different server. There were a lot of forums having difficulties yesterday. The problem has now been corrected.

I have written a post and then not be able to post it ("post reply" did nothing). Eventually I lost it because I can't use my copy function here. Also sometimes it takes so long to load a post that I give up and either try another one (which often also doesn't load) or leave the site.
I read Lorelei's DDOS info - several times I have thought I shut down my computer - to find it on in the morning. However I'm not ABSOLUTELY sure I shut it down or just thought about shutting it down. My husband who suspects computers to be always vulnerable to outside interferences, unplugs his. Unfortunately we share a printer and I cannot reboot his during the day as it is passworded. Maybe I'm naive but I don't think I have anything on my computer worth stealing. The only money transactions I do are through Pay Pal.
Oooohhh. I just looked up - the sky is a marvelous peachy pink. Time to get on with things here.

The problems you are having could possibly be due to either a lousy internet service, or possibly because your computer got somekind of virus or bug in it. (not the living kind) My computer starts acting up every now and then and I have to shut it down and reboot everything. It usually happens a couple of times each month but I have a lot of idiots trying to hack into my computer for some reason.
I remember auntym had somebody sneak a trojan into her computer once and they tried to take over the Twitter account. She had to run a scan on her computer to get rid of it. You might try doing that.
Does the problem only happen when you are on this site or is it a constant problem for you? Also is it just something that just started happening recently?

My laptop does the same thing paulette. I have windows xp on this piece of junk and my boyfriend (who is a computer geek... why do I always end up dating computer geeks.... ) told me it's a glitch in the XP operating system and it's nothing to be concerned about.
