Ive heard many people ask"why would E.T."s want to visit planet earth" ? My question is"why wouldn't they"?
The human race is searching daily for extra-terrestrial beings using various types of telescopes, spacecraft, searching the cosmos for signs of life. Whether it's mere curiousity or the search for resources mankind continues to not only search the heights and depths of our own planet, but the outer reaches of our solar system and beyond looking for clues and searching for signals trying to prove the existence of other beings.
If mankind was to find a planet like ours that has many life forms , along with countless resources, we would definately be interested .
So what about E.T.'s ? I would like to hear other people's opinions as to why or why not they think E.T.'s would or wouldn't want to come and visit our planet .

I think some are here on a scientific basis. I don't think they have any real interest in us any more than we have in monkeys because that is how many abductees are treated. With a dispassionate manner. I think there are others waiting for some event. A spacial doorway that gives a 'route' to another system maybe..that's just a feeling I have. Maybe curiosity is a motivation but if they monitor us as a whole..we're going to seem aggressive (ineffectually against them perhaps) but the tendency to be aggressive is in us along with intolerance and prejudice, greed and ego. We like to be in control..that's not easy if other races are superior in intellect and knowledge. I think we may have attracted some visitors much closer to us..along other planes nearby. What if ..they look exactly like spiders..or scorpions or with my luck giant cockroaches (shudders)...all's well and good if they look like play boy pin ups..but if they're by our standards..homely..we won't be good hosts

Ha! Remember the campy movie Mars Attacks (arkark). The ETs looks like the stereotypical blonde dummies. They even chewed gum. In one scene a guy thinks he's going to get lucky and he gets killed instead. (They didn't look very realistic and the audience (IMO) thought he got what he deserved.)
Whatever they look like - I'm sure they can convince us psychically that they look like whatever they want us to think they look like. Little friends, little deer, little ponies, little smaller than us, frailer than us beings. Or, as in the movie Contact - like our father, a lover, a wise starman.....
You are right jokelly IMO - we are aggressive monkeys to them and would likely be extremely bad hosts - like shooting the odd one down, keeping the odd one maybe on a secret base and trying to wring information out of it as it slowly dies of our atmosphere, germs, or food. Oh....we may have already done that.

I wish they all resembled the Nordic . of course that is only wishing. Most think of them as hybrids. Not a race coming here from someplace else. It would be easier to see them this way, even if self imposed. Most tell that Nordic's do not talk.. they read minds. Our resources may be part of the reason.. I'm sure what earth has other planets have also.. If they were here in ancient times it may not of been but yesterday to them if they are timetravelers. I always wondered why it has taken them so long with their agenda here. Cliff that is a hard question with no definite answer

Wish I still had mine, worth plenty now. www.globalauth.com/exchange/products/143-1962-mars-attacks-non-sports-card-setwww.aiga.org/picturing-the-pulps-an-interview-with-david-saunders/

I often here skeptics ask why, out of all the gazillions of planets in the universe, would aliens want to come to the Earth, but if you think about it the answer is pretty obvious...it's because there is life here. Not just tiny little microorganisms but an abundance of complex life-forms, including some that posess the technological intelligence to create very complex scientific achievements.
The one thing that makes people think that our planet is unique in the universe is also the one reason why ETs would seek us out. I think the better question would be, why would aliens not come here?
