Elevated exposure for MUFON?Friday, April 6, 2012 at 4:42 by Billy Cox As the new point man for the Mutual UFO Network, David MacDonald likes to tout the numbers: 3,000 members in 39 countries, 947 of whom are field investigators. With those sorts of resources, one would expect the 43-year-old outfit to have an inside track on collecting UFO data in the USA. But according to the Federal Aviation Administration’s Air Traffic Control manual, updated on Feb. 9, “Persons wanting to report UFO/unexplained phenomena activity should contact a UFO/unexplained reporting data collection center, such as Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies (BAASS) (voice: 1-877-979-7444 or e-mail: Reporting@baass.org), the National UFO Reporting Center, etc.” Read more: devoid.blogs.heraldtribune.com/12926/elevated-exposure-for-mufon/

Hi all! Swampy - thanks for starting this thread mate !!! I must concur with your very valid point in your reply to it - where are the board of directors?? It was my take on the organisation that yes there was a voice piece - a focal point of MUFON if you will - that whilst having some sway in the organisations direction, was there to say what was going on. But it's the 'man(people) behind the curtain' that we're supposed to pay no attention to that really hold the reins. Bigelow had a cheque book that began to show promise of investigation into the UFO phenomena in a transparent manner that may actually give us validation as to the yes/no/maybe aspect of it - something that we could look at in black & white and go "yup, that's cool, I can go with that! ". A re-organisation of the board would be beneficial, but the people should be elected by the membership, limited to their term on the board to say 2 years and be allowed to have no more than 3 consecutive terms. If they have 3 consecutive terms they may reapply or be put up for nomination after a 4 year break. This might hopefully give the organisation the dynamism to be continually looking at ways of keeping it fresh and in the forefront of this field - an organisation that can keep itself ahead and people can look to it with respect rather than jocular derision. I know it doesn't happen very often as dynamism usually needs fiscal funding more than just enthusiasm, but - and it's a big but (no, mine's quite pert & firm thank you very much ;D ;D ;D !!), there are times when it can happen first and then the fiscal support comes along secondly. Okay, that's me nearly done apart from one other comment: Swampy, thanks for getting the $425 quote ;D ;D ;D !!! TTFN! Take care, seek peace and SMILE! Charles
