www.ufodigest.com/article/belly-full-bullies-0516 UFOs and Physicists or a Belly Full of Bullies![/color] By Chris Holly May 16, 2013 I tried not to write this article. I tried for weeks to just let it go and move on to other subjects I want to write about. I just could not do it and finally gave in to my anger and the need to speak up for those who suffer by the words of cold fools so I decided what the heck write the article and throw caution to the wind! I would then be able to sleep at night with a clear conscious knowing I did what I needed to do. I could not site silently while those who have been victimized were being openly bullied, humiliated and disgraced by this heartless know it all without having my two cents added. Below is the result of my boiling contempt towards this man and all others exactly like him. Recently while talking to a member of the investigation of the UFO s community I was told about a very disturbing video. I was told that the video was an outright attack on those who have seen strange crafts and a verbal abuse of those who have had encounters with strange beings. I found the video on you tube and watched with disgust as a physicist Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson gave his opinion on UFOs. This man is the most obnoxious, arrogant, and full of bull talker I have come across in a very long time. He thinks he is the top comedian of the science world as well as being full of himself to the point he can barely stand his own superior persona. I do not have a problem with his personal views. We all have our own opinions. I do have a huge problem on how this igannant fool handled his opinions in a full on bully approach to anyone who does not agree with him on the issues of UFO's and alien abduction or encounters. Listening to this fool mouth off all his insulting science based views of what HE needs to accept what HE needs to consider UFO and aliens as existing really made me want to vomit. Frankly sir as one who has seen UFOs and experienced strange encounters I do not really care what you need! We are all aware at this point that most scientists are frightened to death, especially in the North America ,to discuss anything linked to the UFO alien subjects for fear of losing their jobs. Most are terrified to stand up and approach real unknown subjects and instead hide their true opinions or deny these subjects are real. I have no respect for these people and think they have wasted a great deal of money on educations they are afraid to use not to mention not having the fortitude to stand up for their own thinking. It is hard to swallow how many things we do not know due to the barbaric attitudes and fear of the science community. This man however went way over the line with his raging nasty mean spirited ridiculing bombardment of insults made on this video to the millions of people who have seen real UFOs as well as the massive amount of people worldwide who have had encounters with those who pilot these crafts. Neil deGrasse Tyson Our image of evil space aliens surely derives from a fear that they will treat us just as we treat one another.

Nope..based on experience and listening to the experiences of others. Reality may not always coincide with what we would wish for. Blonde, blue eyed, tall and gorgeous 'nordic' types..may be the hallucination..not the reality. It works both ways...as I've heard it mentioned that the 'bad' experiences are the hallucination. Tell that to Travis Walton naked and terrified where they dumped him like garbage...or many others. I'm relatively sure I haven't said they're 'evil'. What I have said..is without compassion, revulsion, callous and cruel...actually that's not it either..just exactly like handling lab rats. And that's apathy. Or my favorite term is nasty little gits See..I have to make fun of them..it's therapeutic. I don't treat anyone..as I was treated by them.

Neil deGrasse Tyson ✔ @neiltyson If we had twelve fingers, there’d be no middle finger to flip at people with whom you’ve run out of words to communicate.

He is a quick one. I'm sure every intelligent race comes up with its own gestures of distain - no matter how many fingers they have. Italians (who have 8 fingers and 2 thumbs) have a number of charming and explicit gestures that involve ones whole arm, arm and fist, pursed fingers...etc.

Actually there would still be a middle finger if two of those twelve fingers were thumbs. That would still leave five fingers on each hand.
Even if there weren't it wouldn't make much difference as Paulette pointed out. I'm sure people can get pretty creative when it comes to lewd gestures.

Great Christmas topic considering what the gesture really implies. At any rate..I don't think the human race would need fingers to be crude.

What does the gesture really imply? Does it not mean what I think it does??

You're a truck driver and you ask? Chuckling..it means what you think it does..but even if man had no middle finger..there's always the toes

www.facebook.com/notes/neil-degrasse-tyson/my-most-retweeted-tweet/10152533257800869 Neil deGrasse Tyson ✔ @neiltyson On this day long ago, a child was born who, by age 30, would transform the world. Happy Birthday Isaac Newton b. Dec 25, 1642 ******************************************************************************* My Most Retweeted Tweetby Neil deGrasse Tyson December 26, 2014 Well. It's official. Far and away my most re-tweeted tweet appeared Christmas day. Here are the 125 characters (my usual length) in their entirety: "On this day long ago, a child was born who, by age 30, would transform the world. Happy Birthday Isaac Newton b. Dec 25, 1642" Everybody knows that Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus on December 25th. I think fewer people know that Isaac Newton shares the same birthday. Christmas day in England - 1642. And perhaps even fewer people know that before he turned 30, Newton had discovered the laws of motion, the universal law of gravitation, and invented integral and differential calculus. All of which served as the mechanistic foundation for the industrial revolution of the 18th and 19th centuries that would forever transform the world. My sense in this case is that the high rate of re-tweeting, is not to share my enthusiasm of this fact, but is driven by accusations that the tweet is somehow anti-Christian. If a person actually wanted to express anti-Christian sentiment, my guess is that alerting people of Isaac Newton's birthday would appear nowhere on the list. Some even called for me to delete the tweet. But instead, earlier today, I tweeted this: "Imagine a world in which we are all enlightened by objective truths rather than offended by them." A few facts: My average re-tweet rate falls between 2,500 and 3,500. My fun tweets can go somewhat higher - up to 10,000. My boring tweets barely break 1,000. The Newton Christmas day tweet, as of this writing - a day after posting -- is rising through 62,000 re-tweets. I wonder if you are as astonished by this fact as I am. For example, I've made direct reference to Jesus in previous tweets that have not come close to this number. How about: "Some claim the USA is a Christian nation, compelling me to wonder which assault rifle Jesus would choose: the AR-15 or AK-47." Posted September 7, 2014, that one garnered 13,000 re-tweets. So I can honestly say that I don't understand the breadth and depth of reaction to the Newton tweet, relative to all my other tweets over the years. In any case, I'm happy to see that many people liked my "Santa knows Physics" tweet from Christmas day: "Santa knows Physics: Of all colors, Red Light penetrates fog best. That's why Benny the Blue-nosed reindeer never got the gig" I worked hard on that one, which has received 13,000 re-tweets in a day -- a factor of 4-5 times my average. One last bit of historical fact. All of England was celebrating Christmas the day Newton was born. But the Gregorian Calendar (an awesomely accurate reckoning of Earth's annual time), introduced in 1584 by Pope Gregory, was not yet adopted in Great Britain. To do so required removing ten days from the calendar -- excess time that had accumulated over the previous 16 centuries from the mildly flawed Julian Calendar, introduced by Julius Caesar in 46 BC. These remnants of the turbulent schism between the Anglican and Catholic churches meant that Catholic Christendom was celebrating Christmas ten days earlier than anybody was in England. If you wanted to reckon Newton's birthday on today's Gregorian Calendar, we would place his birth on January 4, 1643. Happy Holidays to you all. And a humble thanks for your continued interest in what I have to say about life, the universe, and everything. But most importantly, enjoy a Happy New Year. A few days after, I'll be tweeting about Earth's perihelion. Just a head's up in case people want to avert their eyes over that one. I am, and always will be, a servant of your cosmic curiosity. -Neil deGrasse Tyson, New York City p.s. Neil deGrasse Tyson Gets His Own Late Night Talk Showby Matt Wilstein January 7th, 2015
America’s favorite astrophysicist and host of Fox’s rebooted Cosmos series Neil deGrasse Tyson has made numerous appearances on shows like The Colbert Report and Real Time with Bill Maher. But this spring, he will get the opportunity to host his own late night talk show of sorts on the National Geographic Channel.
Star Talk, which is also the name of the host’s popular podcast, will be taped in front of a live audience at the American Museum of Natural History’s Hayden Planetarium in New York City, where Tyson serves as director. It is scheduled to premiere some time in April.
“Cosmos allowed us to share the awesome power of the universe with a global audience in ways that we never thought possible,” Tyson said in a statement. “To be able to continue to spread wonder and excitement through Star Talk, which is a true passion project for me, is beyond exciting. And National Geographic Channel is the perfect home as we continue to explore the universe.”

The more people can hear and understand about our universe..the better. I particularly like it when scientists cease to play 'god' and actually try to relate to people in less lofty terms.

i'm not a fan of dr. neil degrasse tyson...i think he is very arrogant & smug in how he relates to the public... he is a bully in every sense of the word... i guess one could say i don't like him... but i do love some of his funny tweets and i will re-tweet them every chance i get... also, he was the push behind de-classifying PLUTO as a planet... he really took a nose-dive off of his self-made pedestal after that... thankfully, and to the best of my knowledge, that has been fixed... PLUTO IS NOW A PLANET again...but, classified as a dwarf planet because of it's size if i can find the article, i will copy & paste it here... my favorite will always be dr. Michio Kaku...

Rude and arrogant? Are we talking about the same person? I think he's fantastic. He makes science interesting for the average ordinary person who otherwise wouldn't give a rat's rearend about it. I don't recall him being rude or arrogant. Maybe I was asleep that day or something.

I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy..if I had any. He's arrogant but...then a lot of supremely educated people are..they tend to be lofty..and I do know a few. Couple of my friends are genius's..and they do tend to be condescending without meaning to be. I...being me...tend to point out when they are...and we're still friends LOL. In this video he's basking a bit in his glory..hemming and hawing even though he knows very well what he's about to say..(they always do). I agree..any man in his position who's willing to discuss aliens and UFO's is a step above most..arrogance and all.

He's offensive Aunty...I did get it..I'm just trying to weigh a possible benefit to others over my own sensitivity on the subject. I don't share my experience outside of here because of typical reactions. Some naturally, ridicule or scoff...'sure you didn't dream it?'. Some stand there not knowing what to say and won't meet my eyes..like ever again. Some make those clucking I-don't-know-what-to-say..but I want to comfort..noises. It embarrasses everyone and I end up feeling sorry for THEM. LOL. This guy is no doubt brilliant..but I know I'm better informed than he is..so he doesn't phase me that much. I don't think people like him will ever be abducted..they aren't 'sensitive' enough. That leaves us with that shoulder slumping defeated feeling a lot of the time. I'm glad we can agree he's a bit of a toad LOL
