It said the Nazis were searching the mountains where the statue was found for the origins of the Aryan race...I wonder if that is why they adopted the swastika as their symbol? Because they thought the area that it came from was their original homeland perhaps?

I don't know. To the best of my knowledge Buddha was an Indian prince named Siddhartha. Later he had some sort of epiphany and then became the 'Buddha' after the epiphany happened to him while he was meditating/resting (not sure which one) at the Bodhi tree. Buddha I think lived during 6th Century B.C. 10,000 years old is like 7000 or 8000 B.C. That's when they are saying Mahabharata in Indian mythology might have taken place. Buddha is relatively recent and can't be inaccurate. Because other notable people like Susrutha (circa 800 B.C) (the first surgeon) and their contributions are well documented before Buddha was born. The Nanda dynasty and other Kingdoms of the same time have also been recorded. So Buddha's life was pretty well documented and all roots could be traced. I personally don't think there can be room for conspiracy in this. Please refer to wikipedia for more information on Buddha: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BuddhaRegards, Srinivas

I don't think Buddha was from outer space. It is ironic that the Nazi's took the peace symbol as their own, considering what came from it.

They aren't saying that Buddha himself is from outer space. There was a meteorite that came from outer space and was later carved into a statue of Buddha. The Nazis found it back in the 1930s or 40s and transported it to Germany. It had the swaztika peace symbol on it like a lot of Buddha statues do. It is a shame that that symbol has forever been corrupted and tarnished by what the Nazis did. I doubt that it will ever be looked at the same way again.

The Swastika does not represent peace.. it represents purity and power - 'Shakti'. The swastika symbol is still drawn and used in India as it was used for 1000s of years - for festive occasions, pujas, ceremonies, yajnas or yaagas etc. Hitler has no impact on India or how we perceive Swastika. Im not sure also if there is a connection between Gautama Buddha and the Swastika. He might have used it as anyone else would. But Swastika was there from Vedic times. The Swastika was absorbed by the Nazis but is inherent to India and the culture here. It will not affect us. Yes perhaps in the west, since they don't totally understand the significance of the Swastika, it can mean different things because of Adolf Hitler. Regards, Srinivas

Here in the US anytime anybody sees a swastika they think of Hitler and the Nazis. It has become known as a symbol of hatred. Most of the people in the states have no idea it was ever used by any other cultures.
I think you answered the question that I had though. If the swastika is a symbol of purity and power that would explain perfectly why the Nazis would have adopted it as their symbol since they went to the mountains of Mongolia looking for the origins of the Aryan race, which they considered to be the pure race. They also wanted to obtain unlimited power and conquer the world. Purity and power. Of course the Nazis ended up being the opposite of that.

Its actually svastika in sanskrit - the way it is pronounced. Purity and Power also provide harmony and happiness (power not to be construed with a negative connotation as is usually perceived today). Please refer to the link below. This gives good deal of insight: spiritualgenes.blogspot.in/2009/04/meaning-of-swastik.htmlRegards, Srinivas
